I also used them a few times for my older son during teacher work days, and he also had a positive experience and enjoyed those days at Rainbow. I especially like that they provide a lot of play and movement activities. They have several mini recesses outside (weather permitting) and when the weather is bad, they have a large gym where the kids can run around and blow off steam, too. My son also had an IEP from the Fairfax County Public schools which meant that twice per week a speech therapist visited my son at the center to work with him on his articulation. Rainbow was very helpful to the teacher, they would ask her what his goals were and how they could help him. The management would provide a quiet space away from the other kids to work one-on-one with the FCPS teacher. I really appreciate all that Rainbow did to help my son be prepared for Kindergarten next year.

Every teacher we've encountered over the years has treated our children as individuals, celebrating their personalities and helping them grow at their own pace. Academically and developmentally, the program is exceptionally well-rounded. The kids are exposed to a wonderful mix of cultural activities, practical life skills, and physical education, all woven into a curriculum that keeps them engaged and constantly learning. Every policy and procedure feels thoughtfully designed with the children's well-being in mind, from secure drop-off and pick-up protocols to how the classrooms and outdoor spaces are supervised. As a parent, it's reassuring to know that safety isn't an afterthought here -- it's built into everything they do. This has been especially meaningful for us because our son has a food allergy. The school has been outstanding in how they manage it -- from clear communication with staff, to careful attention during snack and lunch times, to making sure substitute teachers and staff are all aware and prepared. We've never once felt anxious dropping him off, which is not something we can say about every environment he's been in. On top of all of this, communication from Mrs. Elena has been excellent throughout our entire experience. Whether it's daily updates, event reminders, or larger updates about policies or schedules, we've always felt informed and included as parents. This review is for the NOVA Early Learning II which is attached the the strip mall next to the…read moresmoothie shop. My son went there from 6mths old to 17 mths old. I'm giving 3 stars because most of his time there was in the infant room and I want to start by saying the infant room teachers are fabulous. It seems they really get to know the babies, their habits, and personalities very well and they were truly so loving towards my son. Never once did he cry and not want to go into class when we dropped him off... until he was switched to the toddler room at 16 months. I didn't feel the same warm, inviting feeling from the toddler teachers. My son was hesitant going to that class. And within the first 2 weeks, he had had 3 accident reports that left bumps and bruises for days. We had been able to find a new day care, but he was going to be staying at the NOVA early learning academy for 2 more weeks. After giving the 2 weeks notice, I began getting a strong sense that the teachers were a bit indifferent towards him. He would be penned up with maybe one other child or by himself. Something just felt off. Then when picking him up towards the end of that first week, he ran over to me and I had to pull an OPEN STAPLE from his mouth. The teachers barely seemed concerned. No apologies from them at all. Just an excuse the HE must have pulled it from the bulletin born in the classroom (that is all within the kids' reach). The director eventually called to apologize.... But my trust in them was completely lost. I didn't bring him back there to finish his last week. I should have trusted my gut. And I'm thankful, I caught it in his mouth as soon as he ran up to me.

I also have neighbors who have praised this center. Although, my child was never actually enrolled…read more- I did tour the center for the infant rooms. I have to say, especially for the infant 1 room.. I was not impressed. 1) There are 16 babies are ages 3-4 weeks - 16 months. That's a HUGE age and developmental range. And 16 babies? Wow! 2) 3-4 weeks is SO young. I seriously cannot imagine they have all their necessary vaccinations to be protected in group care at that age. Most centers do not allow children under 6 weeks into group care. I have to wonder why this center does. 3) Besides the range being so wide, there is no separation, logical or otherwise, of older/younger infants. While I was touring, an older baby maybe 12 months or so, climbed on top of a very young sleeping infant in a bouncer and woke them up. Now I will get to my primary complaint: 4) The administration is incompetent and above all else, they are rude! We put our daughter on the wait list for this center. We were told in September of 2014 there would be a spot available for her in March 2015. When we called in December once our daughter was born to check in and make sure a spot would be available, they told us that there would no longer be a spot available in March, but there would be one in May. I wasn't thrilled, but eh, okay.. I guess. THEN, we called back in January to check in on status (they request you call once a month... for some unknown reason) they told us they wouldn't have a spot for her until DECEMBER of 2015. September of 2014 - December of 2015. The classroom only holds babies for 16 months! They could fill the ENTIRE class up in that amount of time. We called, very upset, and visited to get clear answers. They refused to admit they skipped us on the waiting list. They insisted they give 'preference' to current enrolled families. I totally get that. But it takes 9 months to gestate a baby. The math doesn't add up. September 14 - December 15, makes us at 15 months on the waiting list. The classroom only holds babies for 16 months! They would be refilling the whole class by that point. Again, the math just doesn't add up. They obviously skipped us on the list for some reason or another and didn't even bother apologizing. During our visit, their demeanor was hostile and their overall response was appalling. They were rude. They were deceitful - and I just wouldn't trust them being the leadership where my child spends 8+ hours a day. Look for somewhere who values your child, your family and is honest and upfront with you. This is NOT that place.

oddard Review At 8…read moremonths pregnant I toured 5 daycares in Fairfax before landing on Goddard for my then almost two year-old and yet to be born baby. Our first was in a home daycare where she loved her teacher but wasn't getting as much interaction with other kids or following a standardized curriculum. I knew we needed to find another daycare where both kids could learn, be loved on and thrive. Fast forward to almost a year later and it's been the best decision. From the daily reports and photos we get in the app, to the curriculum that focuses on developing the kids mentally, physically and emotionally to the teachers and staff who love each of the kiddos so much. Now they havent figured out how to cure daycare germs but they do have a pretty awesome sanitation machine and cleaning protocol . But truly the best school!

My son, Ari, started at age five and earned his black belt at 10, thanks to the incredible guidance and support of the instructors--Mr. and Mrs. Dolan, Mr. Dove, Mr. Gayle, and Mr. Ojumu. The instructors are genuinely invested in each child's growth. When my son lost motivation for karate, they encouraged him and helped him push through. Mr. Ojumu even provided one-on-one lessons multiple times a week at no extra cost, purely for his development. This school teaches far more than martial arts. Kids can join the optional Storm program, where they learn leadership, responsibility, and volunteering while helping instructors. It's an amazing way to grow both on and off the mat. The families here are wonderful too. Over the years, we've gotten to know many, and it truly feels like a community where families connect, support each other, and grow together. We are so grateful for this school and wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a place that builds strong kids, leaders, and families.
