Guacamole and complimentary chips and salsa
    Natt A.

Solid place in Westin Lagunamar for a quick bite or drink. Whether you are lounging by the pool and need a quick refuel before your next Cancun adventure, Viento is a decent stop. Service is friendly, prompt, and clean overall. The workers adhere to COVID precautions but the customers/tenants -- ehh. They are on vacation, so whatever. If you dine in at the restaurant or are pool side and want to order, they will take care of you. You can easily charge it to you room too, so if you do not have money on you, no worries! We got the guacamole which came with chips and complimentary chips and salsa. We also ordered Fish tacos and a pineapple pizza. Nothing amazing, but done well and flavorful. Pizza was a bit greasy, but still tasty. It's a typical bar and grill pool side where the majority of business is pool side drinks and snacks. The drinks lean towards the sweeter side, but still refreshing. If you stayed here and want a quick bite, it's a solid place with friendly workers. If you are expecting gourmet food, well unfortunately the Lagunamar sit down restaurant is closed due to COVID.

Fresh guacamole! Chips are not Gluten free but they brought me corn tortillas

Tucked away in the Westin Lagunamar by the Infinity pool. Had a wonderful relaxing lunch. They are great if you have a GF intolerance/allergy. Told me immediately I couldn't eat the chips that came with the guacamole so they offered me corn tortillas instead and still brought the chips out for my husband. No charge for that. Now we at the Dune pool bar the day before and I was told the same chips were fine to eat. I had a feeling that was wrong. I did eat one chip and although I'm extremely sensitive I was actually ok. Probably didn't feel it because we were enjoying happy hour. The coffee hit the spot, it is almost like expresso but not as strong. My husband really enjoyed his turkey club and I loved my grilled salmon and salad. The salmon was GF even though it didn't have that symbol next to it on the menu they said no problem. I could eat the salmon everyday for lunch, so good. They have symbols next to the items that are GF, but ask if something else interests you because to make it GF sometimes it is an easy substitution.

This was our first stop when we arrived to the resort around 11am, check in wasn't until 4pm and our room was not ready until 5:30pm. We had ceviche, margaritas and chicken quesadillas. 3-4pm is happy hour, so of course, we stayed for happy hour, Jorge, became our bff for the week. He was so attentive and friendly. I miss him

Good food. Reasonable prices. Next to the pool with an ocean view. That's pretty cool, right? If you are staying at the Westin this is a good spot. The menu includes pizzas and burgers but also some Mexican dishes. Prices are fairly reasonable, especially for a Westin. I had the shrimp cream and the Camarones a la Diabla. yes, service is a little slow, but life is supposed to be slow when you are at the beach. The soup was delicious and the shrimp was pretty good. They offered four salsas, I tried the Habanero - very tasty and hot (as it should be) it cleared my sinuses right away, as it should.

So excited to find this lovely restaurant tucked behind the beautiful palapa bar at the Westin Laguna Mar Resort. We have been striking out in the food department since our arrival a few days ago, so we were leery about this mexican food. We ordered the loaded chicken nachos and the hearty beef burger. Much to our delight, they were both fantastic! Fresh guacamole and pico salsa topped with moz cheese and perfectly cooked chicken. The burger was thick and juicy and topped with bacon and cheese. A side of fries completed our order along with 2 diet colas! Awww...we were in heaven! So happy we found some "american type" food to settle our bellies while we are navigating our vacation in Cancun. Enjoy the view of the ocean with the infinity pool

The restaurant is under the thatched roof.

Dinner in the cancun strip…read more We decided to pick Porfirio's for the evening from all of the restaurants outside of the all inclusive resorts. I took some notes and this is what I thought of the dishes. Xoajacan Imoladas - The mole is perfection. The flautas, superb. Everything in this plate is a symphony of what I would expect from Xoajaca. 9.5/10 Barbacoa Bonemarrow - Barcacoa is on point. The Marrow is Sublime. Together with the accompaniments is superb. I dream of Marrow everyday. This is a 10/10 Yellow fin Tosatadas - Superb!!! One of the best tostadas I have ever had. The microgreens, the sauce and the square Tostada works well all together. 8.8/10 Salmon - Cooked perfectly. The corn is a great accompaniment. The fish is impeccably seasoned. This dish is heaven sent with a 9.8/10 Grilled Octopus - Grilled perfectly, I can tell by the texture. The mash is superb, they used margarine instead of butter and I absolutely love the contrast from the traditional mash. 9.8/10 Mexican Rice - Its pretty good. It does have a nice seafoodish finish. The pepper was actually spicy. Nice and pleasant rice dish. 8/10 Charred Avocado Salad - Grilled avocado is a bit of a wash. It did make it look good on the plate. The dressing is a little weak. Needs a little more zip, some citrus or vinegar would give this salad some justice. Its a little uninspired 7/10 Service is impeccable and attentive and the atmosphere is lovely.

Anyway: the food, presentation of the dishes itself, and the overall vibe: 4/5. My favorite dish was definitely the steak. The bone marrow is better off being plain without all the stuff they put on top. The steak itself was perfectly cooked & seasoned. I should've took more pictures of the food but whatever- the mango tuna thing with avocado was delicious. Very mango forward. Great alongside some salsa as well. The octopus: OK enough, slightly overcooked. Chewy. Chicharron guac was yum. Our server was so sweet in the beginning but had an attitude after getting tipped 25% LOL other than that, great experience :)

The place was packed and folks were standing three deep in the lobby to watch the three acrobats walking up a pole with their hands and feet, spinning around, moving up and down, head first and feet first, then standing on each other. Once we stepped onto the deck overlooking the lagoon, the whole experience elevated even further. The scenery was stunning, soft lights reflecting off the water, a gentle breeze, and live music drifting through the air like the perfect soundtrack to an already unforgettable night. Then came the food, each dish was its own little masterpiece. The bread service alone set the tone: warm, golden rolls with just the right touch off salt. The wedge salad followed. It was crisp, cold, and generously dressed, with smoky bacon and bright tomatoes adding all the right contrasts. The dry-aged steak was the star of the table, cooked perfectly with that deep, rich flavor only dry-aging can create. The roasted peppers and silky sauce on the side made every bite feel intentional. The octopus was another standout, tender, beautifully charred, and plated with a vibrant puree that balanced the dish with a touch of sweetness. One of the best plates we had. The table got more entrees since there were 8 of us but didn't get pictures. Sea brass was another favorite. Even the lobster soup arrived with flair: a velvety bowl paired with a seafood-topped toast that brought texture and richness together in one elegant bite. The beef tartare with fries was classic and fresh, refined without losing its fun. Dessert turned into a full performance. The liquid-nitrogen ice cream came with swirling clouds of cold vapor, dramatic and delicious. The birthday cake arrived crowned with berries and a sparkling candle that lit up the whole table. And just when we thought the night couldn't get any more whimsical, out came the towering blue cotton candy, playful, over-the-top, and impossible not to smile at. Harry's doesn't just serve dinner. It creates an experience, one where the service, the scenery, the atmosphere, and the food all work together to make you feel celebrated. We came to Harry's a couple years back when we visited Cancun and I am celiac and I had a lovely dinner with my partner. On this visit, we were seated at a beautiful table and we ordered drinks. Our waiter, a bald headed young man 30s, refused to check with the kitchen to see if they could accommodate me. I am celiac not vegan. I was told there was nothing I could eat except steak and he proceeded to show us the entire steak selection. Truthfully I was feeling slightly unwell from not eating the entire day. I felt like fish, he said I can give you dry fish no sauce on top. He suggested maybe we just do appetizers. We had a 8 pm dinner reservation, what the hell would I want to order appetizers and call it day? This waiter was chit chatting with his maitre'd and other wait staff and I felt terribly uncomfortable that i was told I couldn't eat anything from the men, we we all know was ridiculous and not true. We finished our drinks and asked for the check. I made a reservation for Porfirios next door bc I could see they had some gluten free options. Harry's used to be accommodating but no longer. We will not come to Harry's again for food. Not only this, the waiter was trying to once again embarrass us by advising us that we could walk to Porfirios, next door to the restaurant from the back patio. We got up and began walking towards the patio and suddenly I realized he was totally making a fool of us, why would we go from the back if we have to check in with the hostess stand in the front of the restaurant? We walked straight out of Harry's from front door. Never again. So disrespectful and such a rude experience. Not only this, Harry's canceled/ removed our open table reservation (even though we fulfilled it and paid for our drinks and still tipped generously), so I cannot even leave a review and send a private message to the restaurant. Pathetic customer service.
