We called the restaurant, since this was a takeout dish. Upon talking to someone working there, she started arguing and explaining that the restaurant was open 10 years and the recipe was fine and that we should have specified Bangkok noodles instead. Every single thai restaurant I have ever been to, from the east coast to the west coast, makes a reddish colored drunken noodle dish they call pad see mao. I have never received anything that looks like it is made with a cornstarch and soy sauce slurry or tastes this bland, even ordered with their normal spice level. We were met with hostility during this call. Not once were we asked if we would be able to come in and have our dish remade. Instead, the woman insisted we were wrong and implied our palates were off. I would never go back here and wouldn't recommend any of my friends go here either. The food itself would have gotten 2 stars, but this interaction is what is driving the 1 star review. Edit: looking at pictures posted by people of their pad see mao, mine looks completely different and clearly wasn't made correctly. I guess whoever picked up the phone was so convinced that they gave the right dish that they didn't care to listen to our complaints.

We visit this restaurant once a week if not more (don't judge)! While there is consistently a wait, it is worth every minute!! During our last visit, we had the best experience we've ever had!! Our waitress with red curly hair was impeccable even though it was a very busy night!! (Her name was Jess in case you've never been to this restaurant. Ask for her if you want impeccable service) She offered suggestions for food for my friend who had never been there before. She made sure we were offered dessert which we took home with us!! We did notice a problem with a customer becoming aggressive with the girls at the hostess desk. The hostess with curly blonde hair remained calm and collected. She tried to explain a reservation process to a man who did not understand. Another hostess with red curly hair also was at the desk trying to help customers when they arrived. Both women remained calm and with smiles on their faces even though there was a never ending line of people flowing through the doors. All three of these women (all with curly hair. Are we onto a trend here??) were great!!! We will always ask for Jess when we come back and will keep telling our family and friend about this place!! No negative stars for business!! The highlight was undoubtedly the Vietnamese dipping sauce. Amazing service, the chicken satay is phenomenal! The restaurant is clean and decor is beautiful. They do amazing with allergies, as someone who has severe allergies. The servers are very kind and the check in people are also extremely friendly and I have never had an issue here! 10/10 would definitely recommend. Where can I begin?? In love with everything about Viet Thai. From the front of the house to the very back- they always deliver an amazing experience and delicious food. I am not a fan of this particular restaurant. I think that the use of herbs is somewhat over the top and I have never been able to eat more than a few bites of whatever dish I order. My boyfriend loves their pad Thai and spring rolls so I do occassionaly stop in for these items and the prices are fairly lower than others in the area. read more

The steamed dumplings are the best I've tried anywhere in Pennsylvania. They're packed with meat and have so much flavor -- not the kind where you get a lot of dough and barely any filling. Even the dumpling sauce they include is delicious. It adds another layer of flavor without covering up the taste of the dumplings themselves. Their fried rice is also excellent, and Green Garden is the only place where I order extra egg rolls specifically to put in the refrigerator. Later in the week, I cut them up and heat them with the leftover fried rice, and it makes another great meal. We also really like the lemon chicken and boneless spareribs. The spareribs have excellent flavor, and it's rare to get a piece that has more fat than meat. That makes a big difference because I've ordered boneless spareribs from other places where far too much of the container ended up being fatty pieces I didn't want to eat. The lunch and dinner specials are reasonably priced, offer plenty of choices, and come with more than enough food. We've tried quite a few things from the menu and haven't found anything we didn't like. As good as the food is, the service may be what really sets Green Garden apart. Everyone is genuinely friendly, and special requests never feel like an inconvenience. The owner has an amazing memory, too. When we walk in, she recognizes us and remembers the little changes we sometimes request without us having to explain everything again. That kind of personal service is increasingly hard to find. The best recommendation I can give is that we drive about 25 minutes and pass several closer Chinese restaurants to come here. Green Garden is that good.
