I couldn't figure out how to cancel so I had to call and the dude was super rude and short and was being a complete a****** these guys charge you out to ask for delivery and then give you a vague hour and a half time and then tell me oh it could be shorter than that we don't know. Through Viking, you order food from local Bellingham restaurants. Viking promises to pick up and deliver food to your office or home in Bellingham. The selection of local restaurants is quite extensive. You can access the Viking service directly from the website of the participating restaurants. Rather than (get dressed), sit in traffic, circle the block looking for parking and pay the meter, you can have Viking do the leg work for you. I recently visited the website of Old World Deli (OWD), and that's where I noticed I could click on the Viking icon and order OWD's food right away. The process was simple. An estimated time of food arrival, the checkout price including the delivery fee, and an option to include the tip were provided. All major credit cards accepted. Three emails were sent during the process. The first email confirmed my order and the full transaction price. The delivery fee was $3.99 to deliver to my zip code. The price might be higher if you live further away. The second email indicated the driver was at the deli picking up my food. The last email said the driver was on his way to my place. His timing (20 minutes) was exactly as predicted during the ordering process. Remarkable. The service was just as expected. I ordered a cold deli sandwich, so no issues with the food temperature for me. The driver was polite. Handed over my food and left. No receipts or money exchanged hands because all of that was done online. I could definitely see myself using this service again, especially if it's a snowy, wet, cold or a brutally windy day when I prefer to remain in my PJs. read more

Thank goodness for Viking Food Delivery!! My power is out and my car is stuck in the garage... and I'm STARVING!! Biking Food to the rescue! The website is super easy to use and even gives you approximate times for how long your order will take to get delivered, AND an update as to where your order is in the process!! I ran my card through their website and was able to tip my driver through the app! The food came quicker than expected and was still piping hot as if I went and picked it up myself!! The only down-ish part to this is there are only select restaurants that are participating. So the original restaurant I wanted to order from wasn't included on the available list. Overall not bad for a $4 fee!! Saved me from having to open my fridge and let the cold air out or having to walk in this horrible windstorm down the street! read more

Viking has delivered multiple orders from different restaurants to us and, without exception, they tracked well, delivered timely, and with great courtesy and kindness. I'd say "I don't know how they find such positive drivers" but this is Bellingham where there's an abundance of good spirited people, and Viking seems to elicit the best. Viking food is my favorite discovery of 2016. The food never takes longer than expected, and often comes earlier! There is quite a nice selection of restaurants that you can choose from, and all types of food such as American, Thai, Japanese, Italian, Mexican, and more! Of course the downside is that not every place is available every day or every time of day but that is to be expected. For late night drunchies the horseshoe is usually the only option but there's nothing wrong with that since they have so many good things on the menu. I really don't have any complaints other than that occasionally a description of a food item isn't totally clear (like if it comes with fries or not, little things like that) The app continues to improve and I love that you are notified when the driver is at the restaurant and when they are on their way! Sometimes the drivers hangout at the restaurant for more than a 1/2 hr according to their tracking system. I think that the drivers might make the most convenient deliveries priority and some how the tracking system is fake or circumvented. As I write this my driver (Freeman) arrived at the restaurant 32 minutes ago to pick up 2 pizzas from Pizzazza. The drivers are not always the cleanest, soberest group either... Update... The tracking system is screwed because it says the driver drove 10 miles in 2 minutes and then it never updated when he did deliver. Freeman the driver looked toasted, not ready to drive anywhere. It took about an hour to get the order and according to the system, Freeman was at the restaurant for 39 minutes. WTF. read more

I use Viking Foods at least once a month. Tonight they really stepped up, and I want to thank the people that run it and the drivers. I was wondering why my order looked liked it stopped at the restaurant and wasn't going anywhere. There was a communication problem with the restaurant. One of the things I ordered wasn't available and they forgot to tell the driver, so poor guy just sat down at this restaurant. Viking Foods called me (customer service!) and explained the problem. They comped my meal and told me they would pay for another dinner. What? I don't get customer service like that very often. So, I want to thank you Viking Food! You are the best. read more

Update- we just got a phone call from VikingFood apologizing for the issues. They were very apologetic and they are replacing our order at no charge or delivery charge. They seemed truly apologetic for the issues, and I'm sure we will order from them in the future, as we've been very happy with customer service. We order in a lot. It's very convenient, and usually the food arrives sooner than estimated, and the delivery servers are always courteous. However, this is the third time that our order was missing items. It's very frustrating, and the company really needs to do a better job with quality control. read more

This would be a great service for me since I work from home, if I wasn't so insanely frustrated with the complete lack of customer service, the hidden fees and the cold food. Was super excited to have a delivery service in town. The first order I got when the service first started was great and was still hot when I received it. Since then, with the addition of more and more drivers and more and more restaurants, the service has gone downhill. My food is usually cold when I receive it. This could be because I live about a half mile further out of town than I used to - but the drive from Black Pearl to my house is six minutes tops, and there's no reason my food should be stone cold upon arrival. Oh, and PAY ATTENTION to how far away the restaurant is from your house, OR PAY CASH because (as hidden in their FAQs) they will charge you for every mile beyond 4 they have to travel to reach your house. Also, don't expect someone to actually answer any of your questions if you post them on Facebook or Twitter. I also attempted to call, and the voicemail didn't say "Viking Food", just the telephone number I was calling. GET IT TOGETHER, VIKING. I want to like you, but when you tack on charges to my card after delivery and DON'T BOTHER TO TELL ME, that's incredibly frustrating. read more

I've been ordering Viking food for years, choosing to support a local business over Uber Eats. Today's order changed that. Ordered from Casa Que Pasa and waited.. it took a bit longer than usual but didn't think anything of it until we finally got a knock on our door. However, instead of it being our delivery driver it was our neighbor from down the road. They let us know that a strange car had just pulled into their driveway and dropped something off on their porch and left (no knock or anything) thankfully they were kind enough to drive to our house and deliver the food we ordered! When I called to complain the person I spoke with asked "well did you get the food?" He then told me he would call me back. When he called me back he told me that the driver had dropped it off at the right address and he didn't have a reason to lie. Honestly the worst customer experience I've had. read more

First of all, my order was late. But that wasn't too bad. My biggest complaint is that I ordered knowing that there was tax, a delivery fee, and a driver tip. Fine. But when I looked at my bank balance, I was charged more than the price summary told me. Apparently there was a almost 4 dollar distance fee that they didn't bother to make me aware of at every step. I was nervous after reading the reviews, since this service seems like a hit or a miss. We ordered crepes from AB Crepes around 11:40pm at our hotel and upon placing the order, expected delivery was put at 12:25am. We got confirmation emails that the payment went through, that the restaurant had received our order, and that the driver had left the restaurant. The food ended up at our hotel, with the complete order including additions to the crepes, at midnight! 16 minutes from when the restaurant had received our order, we had our crepes! Glad we payed with a card so that the delivery guy could leave the food at the front desk. I was eating the crepes 23 minutes after placing the order! $3.99 for delivery plus tip was absolutely worth it. We couldn't have walked to the restaurant in the time it took from order to delivery, and our hotel less than a mile from the restaurant. It did seem like they added a dollar onto every menu item, but I don't care. We were hungry and not about walk a couple miles in the rain at midnight. read more

I ordered from Man Pies through Viking Food and it was great. As previous reviews have said they send you three emails, one about your order, and the status of the delivery, which was neat. The food came ten minutes quicker than the expected/estimated time and was still warm. The delivery fee ($4) some people may say expensive, but for the convenience and the service it is totally worth it :) Edit: I've ordered from them a few more times since this review and it's been consistently good service. Once I ordered from a restaurant that was relatively far away from me and they called me to make sure I knew about the increased delivery fee. The food always comes quickly and still warm. Viking food is extraordinarily inconsistent as a food delivery service. You never know when your food will arrive or in what quality it will arrive. It may be cold. It may be spilled all over the bag. The company itself doesn't care. If you call to voice your concern with the money you just wasted on a spilled dinner, they will not do anything to change the situation. Every time you order with Viking you're taking a little gamble. You have about a 75% chance [not even exaggerating] that your food will arrive as it should. The food is a little late? Fine, I wouldn't care. But Viking will literally ruin your food. Boxes opened, food dropped or crushed, etc. That 75% the time when you get your food -- that's great. But those times you waste like 20 bucks trying to order delivery for you and your roommate, your family, your date -- whoever... it's infuriating to just throw money away and be treated with disrespect or nonchalance by Viking. To those reading -- just go pick up your food and save yourself the trouble. Viking isn't worth it. They take your money with no promise of quality whatsoever. I've made this mistake too many times to make it again. I'd love to support a local company, but this is a pretty crappy one. Just used Viking food delivery for the 1st time. They make it really easy to order food from many local restaurants and they notify you by email as the food is picked up and when the driver is on the way. When my order showed up, and after the driver left....I discovered that the restaurant had sent the driver with the wrong food!! (Tandoori Bites - excellent Indian food, but really disorganized management) - I called Viking and they said not to worry as they would take care of the problem and I wouldn't have to pay anything. Viking sent a driver back to the restaurant and picked up the correct order and showed up at my house in about 20 minutes. I will definitely use Viking again and recommend it highly! read more

I have both worked at a restaurant that dealt with Viking and have been a customer. Never again. I have been in several altercations with the owner while I was working. When I had to bring up mistakes made on their part I was called a "rude bitch." When I told my boss, he called to talk to the owner about the situation. The owner then called me back and harassed me. I also know the drivers make next to nothing, surviving off tips people are hesitant to pay after the ridiculous delivery fees. Ok So here is the deal. You are sitting at work and can't leave the office..... Yes Viking food delivers! They in theory have a really great business. However yesterday I paid $15 for what in the store is an $8 burrito. I don't mind tipping and paying the delivery fee but I don't fell the food mark ups are an OK thing to do. If you want to charge delivery and require tip and if you don't tip sign a book stating that you aren't going to tip then don't also charge food mark ups. This is not good practice. I would tip and tip good if it had not been for this. I won't be using them again. read more

I pevioualy gave Viking one-star when I discovered my order was incorrect. Viking refunded the full check for the order they messed up. Awesome. I wouldn't expect it all the time, but was so pleased when I e-mailed them and their response. This was my first time. They were fast, friendly,food still hot. Even if it was wrong. My only suggestion is they might remove some restaurants who are not only expensive, but awful. Maybe they could tie their restaurants to their Yelp Reviews? Check out the menu and the reviews at the same time? Would be great. This service is a total scam! I ordered my weekly artichoke and bacon pizza from PIzzazza Fairhaven through these guys.Normally the pizza is steaming hot (121 degrees) on my nipples (I use it as an age defying scrub on my chest) but this week it was only slightly hot (120 degrees) on my nipples. I mean, how is a guy supposed to have an age defying artichoke and bacon pizza chest scrub at only 120 degrees!? On top of that they charged me the exact amount I paid! For a 120 degree nipple pizza!? Also, I specifically requested a driver that looks like Keanu Reeves and they sent me one that looked like Johnny Depp.Nothing burns my chest hairs like a Johnny Depp look alike.He wasn't even in The Matrix (although he should have been the cute sidekick that was drunk most of the time, or he could have played Neo's love interest!)
