This was convenient, comfortable and affordable. We were within walking distance of most all the fun Julehygge and we were glad to have this "home base" to recharge our energy for more exploring. Solvang is a charming and colorful place to enjoy. We had good food, bright lights and a beautiful vacation.

Super cute and clean hotel that is extremely walkable to the downtown area of Salang. Mini fridge and microwave within the room, comfortable bed and a cute little seating area. They also offer bikes that you can ride around town if you so desire. We did not make use of those as we were happy to walk. Super easy self check-in. My only negative would be that I stayed in room number two, which is closest to Mission Drive, which is the main road thus there is traffic noise. I'm a light sleeper so it was a little distracting, but would probably not bother most.

We had been wanting to visit Solvang for some time and research led us to selecting the Viking Inn to stay. We spent three nights here in a double queen room. They offer keyless entry and sent a text with entry information on checking day. The room was clean and comfortable. It's one of the first places to stay as you arrive in Solvang and everything is a short walk away. We borrowed bikes they offer just to go out and explore a little further out. Definitely recommend and would stay here again.

Great place at a great price. My family and I stayed here a few nights just before Christmas. We noticed that it was being renovated, so I took that into account when I reserved a room, but the price was right and my expectations were overall exceeded. This place is on one end of the main road, and everything was conveniently within walking distance. It was right next to a burger/ taco/ shake place that was convenient (though I'm not sure I'd recommend it) and across the street from a convenience store. Parking is motel- style and makes getting to the room convenient. The room itself was clean, if a little spartan. The only things really missing were dressers, enough towel racks, and a safe. We weren't staying that long, so pulling out the suitcases was no big deal. The only concerns we had were the flooring that was splitting in the corners (maybe termite damage?) and the shower water randomly going from pleasantly hot to painfully scalding without warning, which I mentioned at check-out. Overall though, it was a nice place and a bit more inexpensive than competing hotels in Solvang, especially around the holidays. I'd love to see it again once it's been fully renovated.

I see after 3 years you stillll haven't changed the curtains ( dirty) or AC looks dirty , not good

My husband and I saw this place on a renovation show on HG tv. So we thought we would stay here after we saw how cute the honeymoon suite room looked. We it's small and kinda cute. But downsides are no closet, no shelves or storage places in bedroom or bathroom. Road noise all night very close to the road. A light was shining in through a blind that didn't quite block it. Shower curtain fell down when I was going to shower. Luckily my hubby fixed it. Court yard area was cute but needs more umbrellas cause it was hot here this weekend. Probably wouldn't stay here again.

    Place is falling apart.

Our guide, Tony, helped us plan a route to fit our schedule and abilities. He was a great guide; friendly, flexible, knowledgeable, and focused on making sure we had a nice time. We didn't have to worry about thing. We wound up doing Happy Canyon and then lunch and wine tasting at Lincourt. Great price point for all that is included (tour, nice bike and helmet rentals, water bottle to keep, lunch, wine...). Thanks again to the whole team for a memorable day! PS Please note the building used to be in Santa Ynez, but they relocated to Solvang. It's also a bike store, so you can store up on gear or snacks before or after your ride if you'd like.

The website was easy to use and Doug, the tour manager, immediately sent back a confirmation. On the day of our tour, Doug met us in the morning at Dr. J's bike shop. He helped us with bikes and helmets. They provided each of us with a blue water bottle. The whole process took about 30 minutes (more because we were slow not them). Chris gave us some final instructions, took our pictures and then we were off. We rode up to Neverland, did Olive oil tasting and visited a lavender farm. Olive oil tasting was fun and was a way to replenish after biking in the morning. The lavender farm we could have done without. I wish there was a guided tour of the place. Other than that, the lavender farm felt like an overpriced store. Then we went to a winery where a beautiful lunch was set up complete with local fruits a day dessert from a local bakery. There was music and wine and a beautiful view of the winery. If you're looking for a great experience this is it. Our guide Chris was great! He kept an close eye on us and was very encouraging when we have trouble going up the small hill. He was knowledgeable and didn't rush us. He made sure we had a great experience and we did! We'll definitely be back!

They have maps with recommended rides and being Santa Barbara, there are few bad options. However if you do this, I would recommend going north. The e-bike revolution has really opened up so much of the biking world, including places that may have really only been accessible to the most hardcore bikers. With pedal assist, even the most fearsome hills are not that big of a deal for the average rider. I rode about 20 miles on my trip, which seems like a lot but wasn't really since I opted for the most powerful pedal assisted road bike. Of course, getting a simple cruiser is also an option if you just want to enjoy a nice ride. Super fun and, highly recommended. Five stars.
