I don't have anything bad about this business. I contacted them and scheduled an appointment for Saturday for an estimate. He arrived within the time frame given. We made an appointment for the following Saturday to have my replacement window screens installed. They called me back about 45min after they left and asked if I would be home for the rest of the day because they will be able to install the screens that same day. They came back and installed the screens. I am so happy with the screens. Now o don't have to worry about my pets near the window. read more

After shopping around for prices on replacement windows Frank came and said he could replace the windows at a highly competitive price but advised that I did not need replacement windows and to only replace all the weather stripping in the windows. Called around for estimates to repair broken window in front of house. Some asked: Tomorrow? No; today. Vila's Lonnie answered promptly, spoke to me politely and and promised to send a tech in 30-40 minutes. A gentleman rang me less than half an hour later - from the front door. Polite and professional, he checked out the job and gave me a reasonable estimate (for an older window). I gave him my OK, so he got the glass and his tools from his van and immediately set to work. ABOVE AND BEYOND ... I've used Vila several times now and every time they are very quick to arrive, offer free estimates ... no pressure ... and their work is professional, and lasting!! I used Window-Fix once [never again] and the work they charged excessively for only lasted a few months [the shoe cams broke]. Vila not only replaced BOTH my balances [only one was broken], but also the shoe cams that Window-Fix had put in which broke, all for $95 which was less than Window-Fix charged just for one shoe cam. I had Vila repair two other windows in my home 7 years ago and they are still operating fine. They use high quality materials and do a very professional job. I'm not sure why some reviewers say they don't respond; I've never had that problem and I highly recommend them. read more

Fantastic service. I've been living with a window that does not open or close properly, with a screen that was duck taped to the frame because the track was broken/inaccessible. A repairman by the name of Jay rolled in (early, which is a plus) just days after my first phone call and fixed up my totally defunct window in no more than 15 minutes. I would give no stars if I could. I needed screens on 4 large windows-- I never needed them before but was sick of being eaten alive by mosquitos this past summer. I first called Vila which got rave reviews, but they seemed unprofessional on the phone and didnt' even want my name to set up the estimate appointment. The tech measured and gave me a quote of $1300 and wanted 1/2 right there, preferably in cash. He was really pushy about me committing right there and it seemed sketchy. At first I figured they must really be that expensive but thankfully trusted my gut. I then went to Master Window for a second quote -- $320 or so, great service and done in a week. read more

They didn't confirm the visit, but did show up on time and didn't charge for the visit, unlike a handful of other companies I called. I am so happy!! (I hope I stay that way). I discovered my tenant's windows needed repair in January. Since then I've been either looking for vendors to fix them (preferable) or replace. Two consulations stated the balance rods were the issue of why the window slams down so hard when you attempt to close it (very dangerous, liability). But they stated my windows were so old could not replace them (1980's, but ok), I needed to get the windows replaced. Figured mind as well. Went to Lowes on Avenue U n BK (fantastic, nice hlepful workers btw however their installation departments ALL SUCK).After 3 months of chasing them down after they gave me a quote they then tell me on top of the $1,400 it will cost to remove the bars I have to now get new bars cause their installer doesn't put them back on. (this was told to me AFTER I already purchased but the dummies never made me sign a contract). So got a full refund. Came to Yelp to see if I'll try again to get them fixed. Got a couple appointments set up for today. First guy said it was the shoes and balance rods, can fix but will have to search for the parts. Vila came-on time-two guys...older Eastern Euro dude very nice, took them out, played w/a few things and said "I can fix, no problem" gave me a price quote of $220 ($40 less than the last guy) and said you want it done now? I said YES!! They fixed it in ONE HOUR!! Was so happy had him look at my windows and patio doors after he said "I fix everything, no problem". So suffice it to say I will be using them again when I'm ready to do that. Didn't give them 5 stars cause I need to see how good their work holds up! read more

Called This company to repair a sliding screen door, after finding them on Yelp. They gave me an appointment, and sent a fabulous man named Frank. He was on time, very sweet, super efficient, replaced the screening on site, and even vacuumed the bottom of the screen door sill, to prevent future warping. I just had six windows replaced and one window repaired by Vila Windows. Every interaction was professional and crisp. Frank provided the estimate and arrived at the appointed time to walk through the house and discuss options. He brought a sample of the window he recommended based on the initial conversation we had on the phone and the quality was excellent. The cost he quoted was fair and reasonable. That same day, he called me back with several possible dates for installation. We settled on one and the Vila crew arrived on time and prepared. They were courteous, professional and took great care to minimize the dirt and disruption. They cleaned up after the installation and carefully caulked the windows into place, making it look like they had always been there. I will call Vila again if I need more help. Excellent experience! I needed to have a very large plate glass window replaced in my Manhattan apt. Of the six companies that performed in person estimates, they were by far the most competent. Very good service, price and they were able to deal with my condo association's strict insurance guidelines. I would definitely recommend them. I had a crazy situation in which I was moving a piano into a third floor apartment through a window. The piano mover asked me to have the entire window frame removed. VWR came the day that I called them. They were prompt and professional. Once the frame had been removed it was obvious that I needed a whole new window. They were back THE NEXT DAY with a new window. Once again, prompt, professional and did excellent work. They were also careful to clean up my floor thoroughly after the work was done. The price was fair. They also came on time for the job itself. The job was done right, and was clean and quickly. Called Vila on a Sat due to an emergency repair on a window in one of our bldgs that was broken by brick.Call was answered on second ring at 11am.By 1110am service was scheduled with technician within a two hour time frame 12-2-pm.Due to the tenant having to leave for work 1pm they went the extra mile and arrived at 1250pm.Tech measurde glass...arranged further access with tenant,travelled form Brooklyn to Queens to obtain glass and jb was complete by 155pm same day.I don't think it gets batter than that.Never used Vial before but as I told tech I will certainly add to my contacts for future use for window repairs in our buildings.Thank you read more

Based on the positive reviews on Yelp I chose Vila over the other local options. I am happy to be able to add to the chorus of satisfied customers. I was able to get an appointment within a couple of days of calling and Frank the repairman was prompt and courteous. He diagnosed the problem right away and gave me a reasonable price quote. Better still, he said he was able to complete the job on the spot. He and his assistant replaced the coils with rods and replaced the broken shoe. Now the window moves more smoothly than when it was new. He shared a lot of valuable knowledge about the mechanism and its maintenance. It was a rare pleasure to encounter a repairman who was so knowledgeable, competent and honest: such a far cry from the disreputable scoundrels at Sears who sold and installed the windows originally and proved their lifetime limited warranty to be totally bogus. They wanted to charge me an amount for their inspector to come out in 12 days to determine if the malfunction was covered, an amount that was greater than what Frank charged to fix it in two days! I had an excellent experience with Vila Window Repair. The glass terrace door in my condo on the Upper West Side did not close properly; it was sagging down over the last 4 years and the metal of the door was scraping against the metal of the frame. I made an appointment with Vila Window Repair for a free estimate and they came on the day I had requested (several days after my call) within the 2 hour time slot they had given me. It was the owner himself who came. He inspected the problem, told me exactly what needs to be done, and he gave me an immediate estimate/quote. I agreed to the costs, and Vila Window Repair was able to fix my terrace door on the same day! Two technicians worked for about 1.5 hours: The hinges needed adjustments, and the glass needed to be re-centered within its Aluminum frame. These adjustments were necessary because 1) the hinges of the terrace door were not properly installed during the original construction of the building (~ 6 years ago), and 2) the glass was not properly held in place within its frame when the door was originally installed (the spacers/wedges around the frame were missing). The folks at Vila Window repair know what they are doing (at a reasonable price) - I highly recommend them! read more
