DO NOT MOVE HERE!! We moved here from Sweden and thought everything looked so amazing and clean and after a few days we realized we had roaches in our apartment. We told them right away and they got a guy to spray the apartment but it did not help. They told us they did not find roaches and I sent them pictures so they came to spray the apartment again. I got a allergic reaction to the sprayings and my entire face was swollen when I woke up one night. I told the management this and that this is not livable and they just keep on sending people here to spray the apartment. I asked if they could move us to any of their other building and they refused and said we had to buy ourselves out. We are now newly moved to LA and have to live under these circumstances because they wont let us move without "buying ourselves out". We need to keep the lamps on every night which gives us trouble with sleep because if its dark they come out in the living room area. We have spotted them every night and morning and now also during day time. The funny part is that the first lady I talked with said that is was not unusual here but Desire told me that she never heard about problems. This is really hard to believe as I have seen them in the apartment, in the laundry room and in the trash area. We also have one that is painted into the wall in the closet so they knew about the issue and did not tell us. I do not know what to do and are completely devastated. Our new start turns out to be our biggest nightmare. read more

My experience has been great! The staff is friendly and attentive. Leonard is great on checking in to see how we're doing and following up on any requests that's are submitted to see ensure they are taken care of. Our building is well kept and clean thanks to Elsa. When I've submitted a maintenance request it's usually taken care of or looked into by the very best day (shout out to Arturo). I love how dog friendly the building and neighborhood is and it's in a location where a lot of restaurants, bars, and parks are in walking distance. read more

Great apartment complex, with perfect pricing for this area. Can't complain living in the best area in Weho. Indoor parking, pool, hot tub, sauna, grill, and Vending machines for the late night snacks. Any Maintenance issues are handled promptly. I've lived here for almost 14 years, and couldn't be happier. The team here is absolutely amazing. Shout out to the leasing manager Leonard for making great improvements since his arrival. I went twice to see an apt that I saw in July. Given that it was the 4th of July weekend no one was in the management office. Waisted trip but I did have other apartments to view. The most recent time I drove up to see the same apartment the agent's key wouldn't open up the door. An omen? I thought someone would have contacted me to apologize but I never heard back from either the agent nor the management. I reached out and then the agent asked me if I could see the apt on a certain day but that day didn't work for me so that was the end of that. read more

This management company unlawfully took money out of my security deposit. I did a walk through with their maintenance and signed off on the unit needing cleaning only. When I got my security deposit back they unlawfully took money for painting and carpet replacement and would not provide proof of those things being needed. Do not rent from a Decron properties building! read more

Came in on Monday 12/18 at 11:05am and sign said back at 12:15 (Thought it was odd but anyways) Came back at 1:10pm to give the manager a little bit of time to come back. 1:20pm still no one there and needless to say that their other "emergency" phone number keeps ringing and nobody answers. Not sure who manages that building but on Monday between 11am and 1pm you should be able to talk to someone. I guess I ll rent my apartment somewhere else! read more

I've lived here for years and it's fine. Good maintenance team. Nice area. No insects or rodents of any kind. Safe. The only possible problem you might run into is a (very rare) neighbor who plays their music and subwoofer too loudly. But that can happen anywhere and if you talk to management they will help with that. read more

Good luck to whomever rents apartment 313, hopefully you sleep like the dead or have partial/full hearing loss because the apartment above you will never let you sleep the night through... And the best part is the building management will not lift a finger to help you, even after multiple complaints from multiple tenants. Both apartments on either side of them have vacated citing the noise as being one of the reasons. My neighbor next door as well as a floor below me can hear the apartment above my unit... I'm not joking. With the exorbitant rent they will soon be charging for this unit... I would look elsewhere if you want an apartment where you can relax and enjoy peace and quiet... Instead of the stomping, what sounds like anvil dropping and the click clack of heels between 10pm to 12am and then again at 4-5am each day. read more

I don't want to do this, but the time has come. I have lived at Villa Careena for nearly two years. When I signed my lease, the building manager (at the time), Marjorie, made me feel really comfortable and confident about the building and my choice to live there. I was moving from Kansas City, and apartments are very different there - In LA, a nice apartment that doesn't literally cost a fortune is really hard to come by! The first year was so great! Marjorie lived on sight, and took care of any and all problems that were presented. The building was well maintained, and she was always available to assist all tenants with whatever they needed. She even loaned us her parking pass to move in and when I had a friend visiting without a place to park! Marjorie moved out about six months ago. The building is now dirty. There are roaches. The ant problem - don't even get me started!! It is truly disgusting!! Maintenance requests are not done promptly as before. If you ask a question to the "interim management" (random women sitting in Marjorie's former office), they just tell you they'll need to get back to you, and never do. Never. Ever. We recently had an issue with one of the utility persons that was allowed to park in our garage, and six weeks later, still no resolution. They are just pushing us off, and pushing us off, likely in hopes that we'll "just drop it". The location cannot be beat. Cannot. The price, it could be better, but it's LA, it's just expensive. The "upgrades" to the units in this building are not luxury, but they are nice. The flooring in our upgraded unit is made to look like hardwood but is linoleum. Our appliances are low grade stainless Frigidaire, definitely up to par. I wish we had Marjorie back, or at the VERY least, one person on site everyday to address our needs. This part time management situation is getting really, really old. If we don't see an improvement soon, we'll be moving! read more

Very dishonest company. I was told different things by two different people. Specifically one person said that after I paid by $300.00 holding deposit, I would have 72 hours to decide if I wanted the place. The other person said I had 72 hours after being approved for the apartment. Both lied. Because I was never told I was approved and when they finally charged my card for the $300.00 deposit, I called them immediately to say I wasn't going to take the apartment. Their response was that I was past the time to back out, and too bad for me! They still refuse to refund my money. I figure if this is how they operate and I haven't moved in yet, I probably dodged a bullet. Buyer beware! read more

I spent six months looking for the perfect apartment in West Hollywood, before moving into Villa Careena about a year and a half ago. Everything from the location and floor plans, to maintenance and amenities is wonderful here. You definitely get a bang for your buck. I have to say though the best thing about Villa Careena is the manager, Marjorie. She runs the building perfectly, and helps out with things like accepting packages. Maintenance is always taken care of in a timely fashion, and the grounds are always kept clean. If there is availably, jump on it! read more

I've been living in Villa Careena for nearly a year. The location is fantastic and very walkable. You are close to many restaurants and shops. Larrabee is beautiful street with many different plants and trees. If you have a dog, you will certainly enjoy waking it and will meet a lot of friendly neighbours. Apartments in Villa Careena are spacious and partially renovated with new kitchens, bathrooms, and floors. Gym and pool are ok. Overall you will get a great value for the amount of space and if you are facing Larrabee, you will get a lot of sunlight and beautiful views of the hills. Property manager Amber Carlson is fantastic ! She always replies promptly to all my requests and questions. She helped me schedule repair work, transfer electric bills, get extra keys and even find misplaced packages. I really appreciate such level of attention. She is the best! read more

Excellent place to live. Excellent location right above the classic sunset strip. During the Sunset Music Festival I don't have to worry about parking because I live here, so that's a bonus! One of the building managers Danielle really helped me out today by urgently fixing my clogged shower drain and also my stove. I had been putting off fixing the stove forever since I rarely cook, but recently I've been wanting to cook noodles, so I submitted a work order request online. Within two days the maintenance team replaced both of my stove heads, and now I'm good to go! They also unclogged my shower drain, so now I don't have an excuse to not shower! The urgency Danielle and everyone brings to everyday apartment hiccups like these really makes me relieved that I live in a place where the managers are actually good at their jobs. read more

I have been here for two years and I have rarely lived in a place where the management and maintenance team are that responsive. I never had to wait more than a day, if not just a couple hours, to get fixed whatever needed fixing. The building itself is well maintained as well. And since the new building manager Leonard took over a few months ago, more improvements have been made and continue to be made throughout the facilities, e.g. sauna, hot tub, pool, gym etc.. The only negative points are that the rent is quite steep for relatively small apartments (and in accordance with West Hollywood regulations, Decron just raised the rent by the full 3% for the first time since the pandemic) and there are quite a few dog owners that could do a better job at keeping their dogs on a leash and making sure they don't do their business on the property. Other than that, it's a fantastic location and I am happy to call this my home. read more

I have a studio that is the size of a one-bedroom, wonderful sunlight, a view of the City, great, quiet neighbors, and an excellent property management staff. All of that adds up to an easy, comfortable, and safe lifestyle. I lived here from 2006 - 2011, when I moved to Irvine. I miss this place. Besides being in the ideal location for fun loving people, the building and its residents were great. Surprisingly, I have found that the residents there are much more friendly and outgoing that the ones I now live among in OC. I have to give a special shout out to Marjorie Pennell (the resident manager) for not only offering lightning quick responsiveness to resolve issues, but for also being a genuinely kind and real person. I have knocked on her door at the oddest hours of the morning due to locking myself out of my own apartment. Don't ask me about this. The only thing I wish the building offered was washer/dryer hookups in the apartment, as poor timing of your wash cycle could find you running up and down the stairs to get all of your laundry done in a reasonable amount of time. But hey, whose fault is that? The bottom line is that this place is great, offering more than comparable properties costing 1/3 more. I have forged many friendships with the people I have met here and if things were different, I'd gladly find myself back up in WeHo for another run at the VC. read more

Hate to do this, but I've absolutely had it with this place. I have been a resident of Villa Careena for 8 years. It used to be a great place to live when Marjorie was managing the building, but ever since she left along with Jose the place has gone down hill. Management just does not care. I just got charged $55 to replace my keys. Ive never been charged that. Keys cost almost nothing to get made. Why am I being charged $55!?! When I expressed my concerns about this charge management hardly acknowledged or even cared. Such a shame. Living here used to feel like a community. Now I just feel unwelcomed in my own building. I can almost gaurantee I will be leaving within the next few months. read more

After reading negative reviews, I felt compelled to write something. I have lived at Villa Careena for over a year now and I haven't had any problems at all. My apartment has brand new renovations throughout. Having a new kitchen, a workable space along with a balcony offering sunlight and views means a lot to me. Living in a peaceful environment where I don't even hear anyone above to the right or left of my apartment is also really important to me. The staff and maintenance have always been very attentive--especially Joyce, in Leasing, who has gone above and beyond to help me from Day 1. In addition, I am truly appreciative to Danielle for helping me to lease the "right" apartment--she was really good to me and I won't forget her. The building offers conveniences--a laundry and trash shoot on each floor, gated undercover assigned parking (not a dark/dirty garage), a pool, jacuzzi, sauna, and an exercise room. Lastly, I agree with certain other reviews...you really can't beat the location! I love the vibe here on the Sunset Strip. In addition to living in a peaceful home, I love being walking distance to the coffee shop and many other venues on Sunset Boulevard. My cat and I enjoy living in our home at the Villa Careena and plan to stay here for years to come. read more

I absolutely love living here! I have been here since the beginning of 2012. After moving all around LA, I can finally call this place my home!! THIS PLACE ROCKS!! 24 hour heated pool, jacuzzi and workout room!! The walls are built very well, as I cannot hear any of the neighbors and they cannot hear us!! I have already made extremely close connections with our neighbors and they have became very close friends. We hang out all the time!! To top it all off, we have an absolutely AMAZING manager, Marjorie, who really cares about all of us!!! read more

I have lived at the villa careena apartments for over 12 years and absolutely love it. The manager, Marjorie has always made sure that the place is safe and secure and if anything ever goes wrong she takes care of it right away. I never hear any noise from other apartments and most of the people that live there are very nice. I highly recommend talking to Marjorie if your looking for a great place to live. The outside of the complex just had a complete makeover. Marjorie is a hands on Manager and is always willing to help if you ever need her. Recently she added a barbeque area with tables for small groups of people. The heated pool is always clean, she also recently remodeled the rec room into a mini gym with a treadmill, stair climber, weight set, weight benches and a big screen TV to watch when you work out. The garage is always safe and secure and I just love living there. I wouldn't give up this place for anything in the world. Especially since I have the best manager EVER! This is an amazing building North of Sunset in a great location. Even more so is the manager of the building, Marjorie. I have lived in many units in other complexes and have never experienced a better manager who TRULY cares and makes sure that things get done.
