Today we visited a wonderful restaurant in the beautiful and sunny country of Italy in New York, Villa Paradiso. We liked the quiet, cozy atmosphere and light Italian music. The order was brought quickly, we didn't have to wait. The order that was brought was a pleasant surprise: easily digestible, but at the same time filling food, prepared from high-quality and fresh products. The pricing policy is quite acceptable. Very polite and attentive staff. We advise everyone to visit this wonderful restaurant!

Nice spot for a good Italian meal on Staten Island! Appetizers (not pictured) were baked clams and a portobello mushroom dish. The portobello appetizer was $16 which I felt was overpriced because it was one portobello mushroom sliced on a plate over a bed of arugula and sliced tomatoes. Definitely seemed a bit extreme price wise for that, but every other dish was great and felt right for the price. Our entrees were fantastic (calamari fra diavolo and pappardelle with shrimp and cherry tomatoes). We split tiramisu and two decaf cappuccinos for dessert (not pictured). Service was quick and pleasant. In regards to the vibe, it is very loud inside due to the music volume plus large groups seem to go there as we were the only table for 2 and many parties around us. All in all, a good spot on the island.

Hey there. Nice place . Food was better than expected for some dishes. The table enjoyed the meal service was excellent. The Salmon, the Carrozza, clams, good stuff. The Bolognese was only a marinara with a little beef, nothing extraordinary. Had to mention that the music was waaay too loud. The musician doing the keyboards was way too loud, and seemed to think he was performing an outdoor concert. No one could have a conversation over dinner. Quite a selfish musician. But I will not take any stars away despite the disturbing annoyance. Hey dude, lower the amps. People didn't appreciate the volume as talented as you are.

We sat inside with a beautiful view of the water. The vibe is quiet, waterfront and a little upscale, although with three kids, I'm pretty sure we were the ambiance that night . Our servers have known us for years and the service was great as always. We ordered approximately 7,000 appetizers lol. The rice balls are a MUST. They're small, crispy, served with honey and one of our favorites. Honestly, order your own because you're not going to want to share. The crispy rice with tuna was also outstanding--fresh tuna piled on top of perfectly crispy rice. We also had baked clams, flatbread, a summer salad and house salad, and everything was fresh and good. For my entrée, I got the zuppa di pesce with the spice held. The seafood was fresh without tasting fishy at all, and the tomato-garlic broth was delicious. The portion was HUGE. I'd absolutely order it again, but next time I'm sharing it with someone... especially after my 7,000 appetizers. Around the table, everyone was happy. The blackened mahi-mahi with coconut rice was delicious, the veal chop special was so tender my dad practically licked the plate clean, the penne vodka with shrimp was excellent, and the braised short ribs with mashed potatoes were a hit too. Even the kids were covered with chicken tenders, fries and buttered pasta. We finished with crème brûlée, chocolate and vanilla ice cream, lemon sorbet and raspberry sorbet. No complaints anywhere! It's definitely on the pricier side, but the waterfront view, consistently good food and wonderful service are why we've been coming here for years.

The food was good but said we would give it another chance. Today we were celebrating my daughters birthday. Poor service, food lukewarm and cold, over crowded with large parties surrounding our table. They forgot the ricotta salada on the Rigatoni Vincenzo dish and there were NO cherry peppers on my pork chop. Again loud, no attention to our needs. One hour between apps and entree. (Asked three times for a glass of wine). Waitstaff breaking down & setting up large tables right next to us during our dinner. We skipped dessert and coffee. Had it at home to avoid another hour wait. We are NOT going back. BTW the waiter Kevin or the Maitre'd never stopped by our table to see if everything was ok. I think they could do better.

Our server was quite busy which is understandable its dinner time... approx 6:30 we placed our order with our server we ordered the following: Bread for table 1 raspberry iced tea 1 Mock Croc (non-alcoholic specialty drink) 1 spinach artichoke chip dip 1 ribeye with grilled shrimp, mash, and house salad 1 filet mignon with coconut shrimp, sweet potato and broccoli Approx 6:50 we received the specialty drink... but it was small, we were confused cuz it didnt look like the picture. Apparently server made the mistake and gave us the alcoholic drink. 6:55 server came over and we were able to fix the drink. But my raspberry ice tea never came. 7:05 Someone else brought out our chip&dip and when he placed it down 1/4 of our chips fell off the plate... didnt even attempt to scavenge it... or replace it for us... lost 1/4 of our appetizer. 7:10 server came by to check on us. Finally i got to ask her about my drink and the bread. 7:13 bread and iced tea arrives... wife and I start enjoying it... 7:45 i ask the server about our main course and she comes back and says kitchen was a little backed up. 7:50 our entrees show up(was missing my salad). Steak was over seasoned and extremely salty (like really badly) grilled shrimp was also oversalted. Same with the filet mignon, and the coconut shrimp was bad. Wife said only thing edible was the broccoli. It was basically inedible. At this point i had to get the manager. Manager canceled our entrees and comped the appetizer, then she wanted to comp the drinks as well. I suggested I pay for the drinks. (I know i know) Again its outback and its already at 3 stars so not like my review will make or break this place. But that was my experience. For record. Edit: Oh as soon as I posted this review... a generic automatic response was posted as a reply... bet corporate isn't gonna care...

Today was especially terrible, to the point where I don't think I want to come back. Our server barely checked in on us, and whenever we asked for anything (like utensils) she made a "joke" about not wanting to do her job and how everyone keeps asking her for things. I'd understand, but I don't think asking for utensils or plates is really asking for that much. We had an issue with the machine to pay and waited nearly 30 minutes for someone to help us despite flagging down an additional server since ours didn't check on us once. Honestly, it's really disappointing because I like their food, but the service has just been so bad it's hard to enjoy the night out

We looked for a spot. it's extremely hard to find parking in this area.. there is a small lot but seems like it gets filled quickly. We didn't have reservations but it was rather early and didn't think it would be hard to get a table. We walked in and a cute older man was energetically running around waiting tables and making drinks. I think he was the owner. He was funny and super nice. He seated us. There was two super large parties in the restaurant. They were loud and tbh obnoxious! We looked at the menu and we settled on some light options. Fried calamari 19 , a salad( Pera ) Bibb lettuce with Gorgonzola, candied walnuts , poached pears in a balsamic glaze 18 we added salmon and a meatball pie 21. Tiramisu So let me break it down for you. We had hot bread with a beautifully seasoned tomato sauce. It was really amazing! It really set the tone for the meal. The fried calamari was really good. Crunchy, fresh and not dripping in oil. Lightly seasoned and the sauce was perfect with the calamari. The only thing the portion was small for the price! The pizza came out and again this pizza was like a personal pizza again the price is off . I wasn't impressed with the cheese they used. It didn't seem like fresh mozzarella. First impression there was way too much sauce the crust was like a wafer. Super thin! I wasn't impressed. I took a bite and the sauce tasted raw ! Like not cooked. Had an unpleasant taste. I actually got a little nauseated. Moving on we order the Pera salad and wanted to top it with salmon. We expected a full salad and salmon right on top. It might have been our fault for not asking the price for the salmon but that's what we wanted. Anyway our salad comes and literally it's a side salad with a 3 or 4 oz portion of salmon. Super small. We couldn't believe it. We were still hungry so we order a tiramisu. It was light, fresh and just a simple dessert. This place is by far not a date place. It's loud and somewhat chaotic. You def can tell the owner is busting his ass. It's really unfortunate The food is not consistent with taste, flavor and consistency . Which is a shame. The price point of the food is way too expensive for a place on Staten Island! Speaking of price we get the bill and the price for two side salads and a small piece of salmon each 80 F'ING DOLLARS!! The guy literally ripped us off ! We pay the bill as we both shake our heads and walk out and the owner goes " hey make sure you tell 5 friends to come visit" yea sure and get ripped I would have loved to say! Patrons be aware!
