Nice deck on our 2nd floor unit
    Laura C.

We spent the week and have been coming here a few summers.over the years. The size of the units is terrific, we stayed in a two bed two bath. It is perfect for families with kids. The decor is dated in many units but we dont mind since we love the space and the full kitchen! We really appreciate the indoor and outdoor pools so we can swim even if the weather is bad. The service is terrific and the staff is really helpful. Wifi is good but Specturm cable can be hit or miss in the rooms. We were not.able to get one of the bedroom units to work. Location is great, close to grocery stores as well Wells Beach and small shops in Ogunquit. It's also not too far to Kennebunk. Worth checking out, we will be back!

From the time I called this place, until we left, was great!! We don't often get a chance to get away, but this place, at first, I was a little nervous because of some of the reviews, which now being here, I cannot understand why, because everything has been great! We stayed here from a Friday to a Monday, at a price that was a great price! The office help was wonderful, with booking and on checking in, to asking for 2 washcloths, yup, that was all we had to ask for, because this place was well stocked! Our room was waaaay beyond what I was expecting. Reading the reviews, I was thinking little rooms, with not such great furniture. NOPE, not at all!! This was a home away from home with a lot of room and everything, like I mentioned, well stocked. Our master bedroom was larger than our own bedroom at home, with plenty of closet space. And, this is always a bonus, the bed was comfortable!! The pillows did not go flat, but they were firm and were amazing!! Our kitchen was a good size and stocked well with itmes we needed for the weekend and we brought in a few items to eat and drink that we wanted for our trip. We had 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, a living room, a dining room, full kitchen and a washer/dryer and a good size deck. This place was clean and spacious!! Yeah, the TV was a little slow, but when you're on vacation, why would it matter. Isn't that the point of a vacation, to lay back and relax! So our TV was in that mode too :), not a biggie. Granted we brought our swimming items to go to their indoor heated pool, but we never made it, maybe next time. They also have a game room, which again, maybe next time. We pretty much came here to just lay back, unwind and relax and that we did. We hope to come back here again, as this was a great place and we highly recommend, if ever need a place to stay, this is a definite!! We will definitely be returning!! Thank you Village by the Sea, whatever you are doing, keep it up, because our stay was AWESOME!!

Place was packed but thankfully we snagged a high top table inside. They even had some live music going on which was great. Service was friendly and quick with multiple servers checking in with us and other parties. Busy but they did not seem overwhelmed at all. Top notch service during our visit. In the past they had food trucks for food but within the past couple months have opened up their own wood fire oven and food menu. Think wood-fire pizzas, fries, smash burger and other options. Cocktail wise they have a huge variety of seasonal options and they are mostly broken up into categories including even spicy options. My wife went with their Lavender Haze, a lavender gin based drink while I went a unique savory option of Baby Carrot, a vodka based cocktail that was definitely orange like carrots and even had carrot garnish. Both were phenomenal with my wife finding a new favorite with the Lavender Haze. After trying those we decided on splitting a chicken pesto pizza. It came out cooked to perfection with the perfect amount of char & crisp. The crust was soft and pillowy enough so that my wife who typical skips out on eating the crust but she enjoyed all of her crust. Really well made pizza and look forward to trying even more versions in the future. Before leaving we wanted an additional cocktail to end the night. I went with the espresso martini which they offer black or with cream. While my wife got a Tiramisu Martini which was kinda a riff on the espresso martini. I did order the espresso martini with cream but it still was quite stronger than the majority of versions I've tasted. My wife's drink was the superior dessert cocktail. Overall we enjoyed our visit and look forward to returning. Especially keen on seeing both the fall and winter cocktail menus! A must visit distillery.

Over the next two days, we were greeted every time we left and returned to the hotel. The Holiday Inn Express Wells-Ogunquit-Kennebunk has an outstanding location on Post Road convenient to a ton of restaurants. There is a Hannaford's supermarket around the corner, and you are maybe a 5-minute drive to the beach. We had a large room with a comfy bed, work-station-desk, plenty of charging and electrical outlets, a couch, and a large bathroom with a good shower. The flatscreen TV had a lot of options and the Wi-Fi worked easily. The included breakfasts were excellent too- with a pancake machine, different omelet varieties, home fries, three cereals, yogurt, fruit, and best of all a coffee machine that grinds up fresh beans for every cup. The coffee (plus regular and sugar free hot chocolate mixes) were available 24 hours, and how much did we love brewing up a fresh cup of coffee at night instead of rolling the dice with the contents of those lobby tankards with 5-hour old sludge? We loved every minute of our stay.

Responsive to emails and work with you 100% to ensure an incredible wedding experience. The space can accommodate a nice group inside and outside. Our plan was to have an outdoor cocktail hour and ceremony followed by indoor cake and dancing in the barn. They worked with us and our mutltiple visits to ensure the perfect location for photos and sunset. Unfortunetly, it rained all day and we were in the barn for everything, which was actually perfect. Opening the double doors to overlook the gardens with the rain in the backgroup was beautiful. They offer parking across the street. They have a room for the wedding party connected to their home. A portapotty trailer, which was great. Caters had access it the barn offered a pre space and a bar area. If it is not raining, there is room for a tent, though we wanted a Bridgerton-esque feel with string quartet and all. But the barn was perfect, clean and our guest loved it. Also, as a same sex couple, they were so great. Highly recommended.

We loved how customizable the property was to create our dream wedding. The options were endless at josias river farm. The whole night we over heard "what a beautiful property" and "look at all the pretty gardens wow" we loved having cocktail hour in the gorgeous historic barn followed by dinner under a large beautiful tent in back surrounded by plenty of room for lawn games, a photo bus, 2 casino tables (big hit) And a outdoor dance floor under the stars. The whole night we got many compliments and told this was the best wedding they have ever been to period. The owners Laura and Charlie are so incredibly sweet and made sure everything was pristine upon arrival. We used Forever in a day by kelly carlie as our wedding planner to make sure the day ran smooth. The communication was spot on and i never felt stressed out. Thank you for a beautiful weekend.
