We gave Village Cinema multiple chances because it's close to home, but after our most recent visits, we're done. For starters, we've tried using a Village Cinema gift card on multiple occasions. We've confirmed there is still a balance on it, yet every time we try to use it, nobody seems to know how to process it. It's frustrating to have money sitting on a gift card that the theater itself can't figure out how to accept. The experience is inconsistent in other ways too. Sometimes you're forced to sit through 20+ minutes of previews, other times it's much shorter. There doesn't seem to be any consistency, and because the preview lengths vary so much, it's difficult to know when the movie will actually start. We've even arrived based on previous experiences only to find that the movie had already begun, causing us to miss the beginning. The cost has also become hard to justify. By the time you buy tickets and concessions for a family of four, you're easily spending $80-$100 for a single movie outing. What finally pushed us over the edge was the condition of the facility. On a busy Friday night, roughly half the stalls in both the men's and women's restrooms were out of order. In the women's restroom, some of the remaining stalls wouldn't even lock. There was no soap available and no paper towels. For a theater charging premium prices, basic restroom maintenance shouldn't be an issue--especially on a Friday evening when you'd expect one of the busiest times of the week. To top it off, the seat numbering between Fandango and the theater didn't match correctly, which resulted in people sitting in the wrong seats and unnecessary confusion during the movie. Between the gift card issues, high prices, poor maintenance, and seating confusion, the experience simply isn't worth it anymore. It's disappointing because we wanted to support a local theater, but it feels like the facility is being neglected. We won't be returning. read more

We had such a great experience with the manager at the village Cinema today while trying to see the new Toy Store with our 1 and 2 year old. My husband and I both love and grew up watching Toy Story movies and were so excited to watch the new one with our kids. We had high hopes but it was apparent after the first 20 minutes we were not going to be able to stay. I tried walking with my baby but she began crying and I didn't want to be "those people" so we decided to leave. I was the one year olds first movie and only the second for my 2 year old. I thought it would be worth a shot to ask the manager if they offered any discount or something to try and come back and watch it again, with no real expectations of it being offered because I mean we knew the risk lol. But the manager was so kind and gave us free tickets to return! It was such a sweet and kind gesture and I really appreciated it. This theater sucks! The movie tickets are $5 more per ticket than the Luxe Eagle theater. You would think the seats would be more comfortable since you're paying more, but no, they are not. They are "reclining " seats that do not stay in the reclined position, unlike every theater in the valley who all have power reclining seats. Not only are the tickets expensive, but the concessions are ridiculously overpriced. Go here if you want to spend a small fortune for a family night out! read more

On 5/30, we attempted to see the movie called "Passenger." We bought our tickets online the night prior for a 3 PM showing. We arrived at the theater and sat down at approximately 2:50, and the movie is already playing. Confused, I went to guest services and was informed the movie started about half an hour earlier, and the time on my ticket was somehow incorrect. Here are the issues: -Upon realizing something was wrong, I went to find an employee. Nobody is present at the ticket check in area (as it is all now self-serve kiosks). The person in front checking tickets did not have any idea and told me to speak to a manager (who was working in concessions). So, I had to wait in line (again, after we already bought concessions) for about 10 minutes before I could even speak to a manager. The manager told me that for reasons unknown, the movie actually started at 2:25 PM, despite my ticket confirmation email saying the movie started at 3 PM. After having to wait about another 15 minutes, the manager said I would be eligible to receive a refund on my tickets. Never did the manager really offer an apology for the inconvenience and did not even offer any compensation (courtesy movie tickets) until asked. This was a terrible experience....it is clear management did not care to retain a customer. Between the drive to the theater and having to wait to even speak to an employee who knew what was happening, was a huge waste of time. I paid for tickets to The Amazing Digital Circus finale. They had it in auditorium 6 originally and got perfectly placed seats on the website before hand, when we got there they had moved the movie to a separate theater with less rows and our seats were not compatible with this new theater. So we were just floating. And then the individuals that came in and paid on site were also assigned seats, which the computer new my seat arrangement and chose to not accommodate for that. Overall a rocky start to our experience. The movie itself was great and the seats were nice aside from the creaking. ZERO CHANCE THIS PLACE IS DOLBY CERTIFIED and/or could maintain the cert. I went to see a movie I was excited about to have a "theater experience" with a buddy. During the previews a speaker in the back -just above my seat, was rattling... and continued to the entire movie. Not only that it was apparent to hey gained the speakers and bass down to try and attempt to hide the rattle. There was NO bass levels in the action movie I paid to see on opening night. I have been coming to this movie theater for years and it used to be a place my family and I enjoyed visiting. Lately, however, the experience has completely changed. Because of the behavior of an employee named Forest, I no longer feel welcome there, and worse, my kids now feel uncomfortable and unsafe. The way he spoke to and yelled at children was unacceptable and created a hostile atmosphere instead of a family-friendly environment. Stopped in to catch a flick on a hot day. The Good - The updated drink menu. The old fashioned we ordered was delicious. So yummy that we ordered another. The Meh - Somewhat outdated and fatigued interior, as with most theaters these days. Everything from the 'shine' being off the overall experience, touch surfaces worn, to dried and shrunk back caulk around the bathroom fixtures. We did hear that an interior update is on the way. We came here for the 1st time today to see Moana 2 for the 2nd time. Tickets were a fair cost, our seats were clean and comfortable. The young guys working today at the snack stand were all nice and helpful. We got a large popcorn and they don't have real butter here, it's soy oil so we had to skip it, that's a big bummer for us, my kids said it wasn't good without butter. I also got an iced espresso, it wasn't good either. Then we got Smart Waters so that we had clean water and it was $6 per 12oz Smart Water, which was crazy! We were in theater 14, it had a light musty smell, especially where you walk in. read more

Very disappointed with our visit to the cinema yesterday. The cleanliness of the entire facility was very, very poor. Evident the bathrooms had not been serviced with the towel dispensers empty, the trash overflowing and on the floor and the air dryers not working and one of the stalls had flooded. Also, our theater had not been serviced- we had to clean the debris from our seats. Add to that a very slow and inefficient concession line. I don't like writing one-star reviews but in this case let it be a wake-up call to management. read more

Paid over $22 each ticket to see Wicked after Christmas week and the whole experience was terrible. 1. We waited in line over 25 minutes at concessions to get a coffee to find out they only had soy or almond milk to make a latte 2. The theater was way too warm inside 3. The screen was very dark and details of the film were missed because the screen setting colors seemed off 4. Used the restroom after the showing where there was toilet paper tossed inside the stalls (not installed in the dispenser), all the soap dispensers empty, paper towels empty, hand dryer not working 5. The entire theater was dirty, with debris all over the floors 6. The parking at the village is near impossible, long walks in either direction. We will not be returning !! read more

Went to see Peaky Blinders at 6pm on opening night. Commercials for 20 minutes, then 10 more minutes of trailers. Movie didn't start until after 6:30, then the house lights finally got turned off 10 minutes later. If you want to "Save cinema!", you're going to have to do A LOT better than this! read more

Was here when this place first opened. Service quality has drastically took a downfall. Good if you're just trying to watch a movie, and no food. Place is really outdated compared to places in Texas. I was in town this past weekend visiting my boyfriend in Idaho and went on a date to Watch Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 3 here at the village cinema before having dinner at the nearby Kona Grill. This theater is ginormous, clean and beautiful !! It's different from the movie I'm used back home by I love the atmosphere here. The young man at the ticketing booth was very friendly as were the concessions stand employees and ticket taker. We got pretzels at that's our favorite movie snack and headed into the auditorium. The seats were modern recliners decked out with retractable food trays. It was a very comfortable moviegoing experience and I look forward to returning when I move to Idaho next year! read more

We went to the movies and bought tickets through Fandango. However the movie started 25 minutes late. When it did start the previews restarted 3 times (obviously a glitch). When the 3D movie finally started to was shakey and blurry even with the 3D glasses. We asked the staff about it, they said they knew it was having issues but never addressed it to the audience. Multiple groups of people including our group walked out. They offered a refund if you bought tickets there, but since we bought on Fandango we had to contact them. After being on hold, explaining the issue they created a "case number" and now I'm out over $60 waiting for a refund (even after a week still waiting). So I don't recommend this theater for lack of customer service and I don't recommend using Fandango. On another note, the restroom was rather filthy. read more

My family of 30 people rented nearly the entire theatre. We were all in line to buy snacks in advance. When I got to the front of the line I ordered a coffee drink only to be told they weren't making coffee drinks. Big disappointment! I asked if there was anyplace nearby to get a coffee drink and the young man told me of a place. As we were leaving we told the ticket guy the concession wasn't serving coffee drinks and we were going to get one. We asked if we needed a hand stamp to return and he said no, he'd remember us. The theatre was not busy at all. When we returned, he denied us entry because we had a coffee drink. He showed us a very small sign off to the side that you couldn't easily notice stating such. We said we explained to you what the concession guy said and told you what we were doing. We asked to be let in and he said if I break the rules for you I'd have to break them for everyone. There was no one else there?! He demanded to know which guy told us that about the coffee and stomped over to the concession yelling that he was going to be fired. He yelled back at us demanding to know which person it was. These were kids working there. Really?! I told him I don't remember who it was and said maybe he should be the one to be fired because his behavior was out of line. He then threatened to have me thrown out. I'm a 67 year grandmother. I told him go ahead and try it. He clearly was on a power trip thinking he could berate a female and scare me into submission. So if you go to this theater, tell Dave (white haired obese old guy) what an a** he is for the way he treats teenagers and Grandmothers. My boyfriend and I went to watch Dune 2 and I was extremely excited. Social media hyped up the Dune popcorn buckets but unfortunately they didn't have them the Saturday after the movie released. We went up to the 21+ VIP to grab drinks and a snack but the Nachos were mid, minimal nacho cheese and toppings were a bit soggy. For $11, there was much to be desired. We've been here several times and it's been steadily declining. First one thing I've noticed is that the prices at the VIP restaurants upstairs are cheaper that downstairs even for the same items such as popcorn and drinks. With as big of a difference as 1.75$ less per item. We didn't know this so we've always bought our popcorn and stuff downstairs and always do a 21 and up section to be away from everyone talking or texting and to just have the upgraded seats. I mentioned it to the guy working last and he wasn't aware until I mentioned it to him. 2nd thing popcorn quality has drastically dropped within the last couple months. It never seems fresh when we go. 3. Restrooms. Restrooms are always filthy and need cleaning but it appears this theatre is run by teenagers so it's never really been much of concern. This goes for the upstairs bathrooms only as we never use the downstairs. We like this theatre though despite all the complaints because it's close by and always plays the latest showings. For the most part the employees have always been super nice and helpful however today my wife stopped in just for a bag of popcorn. We wanted some to take home and I was told that the guy she interacted with was very weird and off putting to her. She said his words were what's in it for me? And said with a sexualized tone. When I was told about this I said I would go speak to this person or manager but she didn't want me to because she believed he had a learning disability. Teenager or young adult glasses and wandering eyes working today around 2:15pm. Please if your a manager and reading this train your male staff to not make female patrons uncomfortable. read more

We don't eat or drink anything there so not much to comment on concessions. We watched half a dozen flicks at this theater and every movie we saw was clear. Since we visit during weekday in the early afternoons, it is rarely crowded. We purchase our tickets online, skip the junk food, relax in the recliner chairs and enjoy. I would not return to this theater. We had purchased our tickets in advance, fortunately, because only one of the ticket purchase kiosks was operational. We had a QR code, but there was absolutely no one to check us in or even ask a question so we just walked into our theater. It was almost like a self-serve situation. We planned on getting something to eat, but there was a very long line and only one person taking orders and then one or two other people preparing so we gave up on getting snacks or a beverage. All the air hand dryers in the restrooms were broken. They were out of toilet seat covers, and there were no paper towels to dry your hands. There was one soap dispenser that people were passing around, and the restroom was not clean. The theater seats were pretty comfortable so we give them that but that's about it. We always love coming to the movies, something about watching a movie on the big screen and the smell of warm popcorn is the best. My daughter loves watching movies, we had a girls date we came with her little cousin. We watched Avatars the way of water. My daughter is in a wheelchair and I like the fact that they have accessible seating, some theater rooms have better accessible space but this one was the one with the screen too close and the seats didn't recline out like other rooms do. It was hard to get used to the big screen so close to us. They should have some accessible seating on the top, too. Overall, we enjoyed the movie. The pizza was not bad, and the nachos brought me memories of being in high school and going to the 7-ELEVEN to buy nachos for lunch. The kids' popcorn pack is pretty good ,popcorn, a drink, and candy; it's not a bad deal. One thing they should try to find a way to bring back the discount for the caregivers who bring participants to the movies. But overall it was good we enjoyed coming to the village cinema read more

Staff said 1 free refill if you buy the Large popcorn but when I came back for it they refused it. When I asked for a water instead of the popcorn refill they gave me a kiddie cup. The whole interaction, staff was pretty rude, seemed like they just wanted to leave which I understand, but to the higher ups: should probably put last call hours on the popcorn refills, or don't promise 1 free refill at all. We decided to stop in the local Cinema to see a Quiet Place II. We did order the tickets online, but the machines are not in service. You have to get in the regular line, and then they print them out for you. I decided to grab some popcorn and a drink. A trick I use in my state is pay for a large popcorn, and ask for three TRAYS. These are the brown carry trays. Pour the popcorn into two trays. Ask for a refill. Then pour half of that one into the other tray. Not you have enough popcorn for 4 people. If you onky have three people you can get 2 trays instead. We had tons of popcorn. It was the perfect amount and super cheap. If you get a large drink there is one refill. I really love the recliner seats in the theatre. I also loved how there was a wall separating you from other rows, which helps with distractions. They even had trays to hold the food which was super cool. read more

Could be fantastic, but in reality isn't very good. 1) Get there early - During the day, they have all of their workers at the concession stand. So when you want to buy a ticket, you have to wait 5-10 minutes for everyone ahead of you to get their food. The ticket-only counter doesn't open until the evening rush, so get there early! 2) Creepy creep - The creepy creep snuck into our theater during the middle of the movie (We were the only two people in the theater). He crawled along the ground, and then spied on us by looking around the corner from the row in front of us. His head was literally on the floor! He was an older guy, either the manager or owner. Does he think he's invisible? Creepy!!! 3) Finally... False advertising - Their 21+ area with "Happy Hour all day" advertised actually doesn't open until 6pm. But the theater shows movies starting at 11am! We won't return to this theater. The seats are nice enough, and the screens are good, but the lack of appreciation for the customer's experience is atrocious. read more
