Used to love coming here but this is my last visit. Could get a good quality meal all the time but the last few times I have gone I have had a terrible experience. Order wrong, cold food, cook that refuses to wear gloves while handling ready to eat food and cross contaminates everything. Last time I was here I complained about him and was told it would be taken care of. Seriously disappointed. Tried 1 more time today because I saw it was under new management and got the same exact service. Food was sub par, still the same cook that does not handle food appropriately and my "hot pressed" sandwich was cold, cheese wasn't even starting to melt. Brought it back in and they didn't even remake the sandwich just spread mayo on bitten into sandwich, threw it in the press again and it is still cold. Also got a spinach pie and the bottom was inedibly burnt. Ended up throwing out the entire meal. Sad that such a good business has gone downhill so hard. read more

I ordered 3 eggs extra bacon on a roll with light mayo just a touch. I returned home opened the bag. It was extra bacon and 3 eggs with a half a bottle of hot sauce. I called and spoke to the owner. She said I can credit you the $8.62 or you can bring it back. I decided to bring it back. They made the order over again. Before I left I checked the sandwich. On both sides of the bread it was heavily covered with mayo. I showed the owner after 2 tries I requested a refund. I was only refunded $6. She kept $2.62 stating she could not find my receipt. The store was crowded. I didn't want to create a scene. So I left the store allowing the owner to short change me $2.62. Being robbed by a store owner is crazy all because their cook kept getting the order wrong. read more

Saw the "Under New Management" sign & thought to give it a try. It took over 20 minutes to get our Order; the French Toast was not even warm and the taste mediocre at best; the panini was "OK", both definitely not worth the wait. The gentleman taking the orders was on the phone busy taking orders but abrupt & definitely not customer friendly. This place has a great variety of food items including daily hot lunch specials. We are regular customers and always enjoy our breakfast sandwiches and other items. There's a good amount of seating if you are looking to eat there, but they are great as a pick up spot too. Calling ahead works well, but we've never waited long when ordering on the spot. They have a good range of cooler drinks and snacks to go with lunch etc. If you get a breakfast sandwich before 11 on weekends you get a free small coffee (self serve) and they usually have a few options/flavors. The family that owns it is always pleasant and welcoming to new guests and know regulars by name and order. They also do catering and work with you on the menu and are great about having it ready on time and helpful with putting it in the vehicle etc. This is a great local spot for good food! read more

The Village Deli and Grill opened a few months ago in the building that used to be occupied by the Scotchtown Deli. Things were a little hectic when it first opened so I waited a bit before Yelping about this place. They have definitely found their groove. They basically gutted the entire building, the new place has a real fresh feel about it. They have a massive menu and plenty of tables if you want to stay to enjoy your meal. They specialize in Greek delicacies, I still haven't had a chance to try their Gyro (sorry that's about as Greek as I get). Their breakfast sandwiches are excellent, and good for you too!! (j/k) You get a free coffee \ tea with every breakfast sandwich, which is a pretty good deal for $2.75. We don't go here a ton, but it is convenient to have a deli (especially one that is nice and clean) just down the road from the house. read more

Where should i start, me and my co workers order from from here almost EVERYDAY. They started always getting the orders wrong at some point, they would forget the Orange juice every time, or not make the sandwich or bagel correct. I kid you not, everyday it's soemthing new to the point where we expect it. This place is terrible! I have avoided this place for about a year now and today I went into order a sandwich. I specifically asked for yellow mustard, twice! I get home and guess what is on my sandwich, spicy mustard which I cannot stand. I also ordered cole slaw and it was so fermented I had to toss it in the trash. This deli used to be good. I decided to go do my laundry near by and had to stop there . Since the other deli I prefer was closed on Sundays. I ordered a everything bagel toasted with cream cheese. I got what looked like and tasted like a hard roll with everything topping. The chewy texture I did not like. Well staff was unfriendly and one woman was down right rude. More Disappointing lately. For the amount you spend on a sandwich... Your roll should at least be fresh. Service sucks.

The only problem is sometimes I see the cashiers smoking cigarettes outside and entering the downstairs basement from outside and will not wash their hand upon returning.
