The Goshen Plaza Diner is about a five minute drive from Legoland, so it's the perfect stop for us to get a yummy, reasonably priced, filling meal before embarking on our ride home. The scene is a basic diner, but there is something very comforting about that to this Jersey girl. Upon walking in, my daughter was immediately taken by the display of cakes. The staff was all very lovely and took good care of us. My daughter got a hot dog, my husband eggs and bacon, and I got the pastrami burger. Everything was delicious, though the burger itself was immensely big! Next time, I'll know to share it! We couldn't leave without trying a piece of chocolate cake. My daughter was very happy with it, but my husband acknowledged that the bottom layer was very dry, but the rest of it was yummy. I don't think I have ever ordered a piece of cake from a diner before, so I'll take that as a rave review. read more

In town for some work for something close to where I'm staying. Found the Goshen Plaza diner. I'm very busy very loud very family oriented. Walked in. Could see the desert display looked amazing. Order the chicken madeira for dinner came out relatively quick food was hot. Taste was very good. It was heavy on the cheese but the mushrooms and sauce had great flavor. Chicken was cooked just right. Waiter was Amazing constantly checking making sure everything was done properly. Overall, pleasant experience would go back again. read more

Food is great . I've had a lot. I like especially their chicken Caesar salad and the alpine hamburger. Lemon cake lemon meringue pie chocolate mousse cake. Altho their Rueben gave me French dressing on the sour kraut and not thousand island. The pastrami had a sour taste alone. I had corned beef one before in the past and this wasn't the same.it was great. So I won't be ordering the Rueben anymore because it doesn't have French dressing unless the waiter who spoke broken English got confused and served it on the side not knowing the difference between thousand island and French dressing. I general all foods are good and a good size serving. My fav waitress is Karen. She comes out with the extra napkins steak sauce before you even have to ask. She's pleasant and dresses very nice.where as other waitresses don't have that polished look in clothes. I'm a stickler for long hair dangling about in food service as I used to cook for Marriott upstate ny. The rules were hat or hairnet and long hair tied back so it doesn't fly in food. Goshen diner has a vast variety of foods. Mexican Italian Greek many types of entrees vegetarian and all are good. Only once my Rueben wasn't up to par. They will accommodate you to make you happy. Must try the desserts they have a new baker and it's nice to see lemon things.they have a nice variety of teas as well so don't forget that you tea drinkers. It's clean and beautiful in there. Everything was great and Linda our waitress was definitely worth the 25% tip we gave her as she was friendly and her service was impeccable, BUT someone definitely needs to speak with the short sturdy woman who "greeted" us at the door. Not a smile, not a word, didn't reply when we said good morning, didn't even look at us AT ALL! Just grabbed two menus with an indifferent look on her mug and walked to the nearest booth, put down the menus and waddled off. I had a breakfast scramble and so did my husband and my son the chocolate chip pancakes. Decent but not my fav, but it did the trick. Goshen Diner offers classic diner food just minutes outside of LegoLand. The food is great and the service is pretty good as well. Keep in mind depending on the time of year, this place gets packed with LegoLand traffic. This is by far the best food spot outside of the subpar restaurants inside of LegoLand, and it is incredibly affordable. This is my family's go-to spot when visiting. read more

Two stars only for the extensive menu and convenience to the highway. This place overcharges (secretly, adding more costs than what's on the menu). If you want to substitute one kind of cheese for another, if you want them to hold the mayo, if you want wheat bread instead of white, etc. expect extra charges. I would understand if the request actually costs the restaurant more money, but 99% of the time, it doesn't. Want to add a convenience charge for a special order? Fine, I even understand that, if it's a major challenge for the kitchen to change one ingredient for another, but then it should be printed on the menu OR explained to the customer at the time of ordering. Quality of the food isn't enough to go back, when this is the customer service you get. read more
