This place is fantastic. It's intimate and rustic. There is exposed red brick inside. It truly feels like you're dining in someone's dining room. There are places to eat outside as well and there is such a cute shop inside to get great sweet treats and trinkets. I had a chicken sandwich with their potato chips. The chicken was juicy and flavorful. The chips were perfectly crisp and it complemented the sandwich very well. Ordered a grandmas chicken salad wrap with cheese and no cheese was added, ordered an Italian combo on a hard roll, unwrapped the sandwich to be ambushed by an ungodly amount of mayo probably to try and mask the rock hard stall roll. I have both visited this establishment and ordered delivery for lunch. The deli is situated in a house that looks like an old General Store with a front porch for locals to sit and enjoy their meal. There are tables both inside and outside of the store. Every time I have been here my order is taken almost immediately. One thing I love about Masons is I am able to order my sandwiches as a lettuce wrap instead of a roll or tortilla wrap. I cannot eat grains, so for a sandwich love gal like myself, is an epic win in my books. My favorite wrap combos are either turkey and Munster with mayo, tomatoes, cucumber slices and red pepper or a roast beef with cheddar, same toppings. You have the option to order a side as well. I switch back and forth between their coleslaw and their homemade kettle chips. The coleslaw is creamy, not too sweet and satisfying. The chips are fried and have sea salt added to them. I subbed the side salad for fries for $4 upcharge, Companion had the kielbasa and sauerkraut with perogies. It was almost a half round of Alpine Haus grilled with a snappy skin. We started with the pretzels. The only suggestion I have is there are 4 large pillowy pretzels and one dinky cup of delicious cheese sauce. Need more sauce! (Plenty of mustard was served). This was an interesting find. I would have never found this spot without yelp or my cousins suggestion. I went during lunch time and had to wait for a seat. We sat at the bar so not to wait too long. It's a large house that may have been a hotel back in the day. Freshly baked desserts in the outer room along with little nick nacks for sale. The pastrami was recommended and delicious along with a nice side salad of your choice. I could only eat half of a sandwich and took the salad to go. Friendly staff who seem to know the locals. What an adorable country spot! I heard good things about this place and decided to come and check it out myself. I came here for brunch on a Sunday and very much enjoyed myself. Space: They have a parking lot with sufficient space. They have two separate buildings, One par sells snacks and drinks to go like baked goods and coffee, the other side is a dine in area with a few tables. There is one single occupancy restroom. Food: I had the chicken and waffles, the chicken came as chicken tenders and Per my last review, I've said it before that I hate when chicken and waffles come with chicken tenders instead of chicken breast or wings. But this is the first place where the chicken tenders were so well-made that I actually didn't mind it. They were fried and just to save capacity as a chicken breast would be Aunts were so savory. And as good as it was, the waffles were even better. I've never had such a crispy waffle before! And for $15, it even came with a side of eggs and fruits/home fries. It was a great amount of food, delicious, totally worth the money. Unfortunately there Cappuccino machine was not working so I got a regular coffee and it was pretty good. Service: My waitress was lovely and very attentive. My coffee was refilled at the right time and our food came very fast. Came here for lunch on a late Tuesday afternoon after visiting Soons Orchard. The place was bustling as there was a private party upstairs, but we only had a ten minute wait for the main dining area. Our waitress, Madison, was phenomenal and spot on with her recommendations. I loved every bite of my fried fish sandwich that came with homemade potato chips. I thought I was going to leave half of my meal to take home, but it was just too good and I finished it all. I enjoyed the ambiance of the main dining room, which was all decorated for Christmas and the red velvet drapes were just stunning. Randomly the best BEC in Middletown. (Downtown bagel is still neck and neck but I prefer masons.) All the lunch sandwiches I've had have been really good and fresh. Service is quick and friendly as well and it's a super cute spot with a cool local market and beer cave as well. I really have enjoyed getting back out to eat with the friend and family. On this cold fall Saturday we went t Mason's and we're not left hungry or disappointed. It's a very rustic, quaint spot where you can eat and talk. There is a TV and a market store you can buy drinks, breads, etc. our server was the bartender/waitress and was very friendly, funny, energetic and answered all questions asked. She gave us her recommendations when asked about the various dishes. We started with an order of Buffalo Chicken Wing, Mozzarella sticks and meatball appetizer special. Everything came out piping hot! The wings were fried crispy but still so moist. The mozzarella sticks cheese was stringy and the meatballs were as good as talked about. The main dishes consisted of Julie's Turkey & Swiss, Chicken & Broccoli Penne, Mason's Chicken Mac & Cheese and the Avacado BLT Burger. I made it half way through my turkey and Swiss before I tapped out. It was seriously so overstuffed with turkey, bread was soft, bacon, coleslaw, 1000 island dressing and tomato's. Each bite was as good as the one before and their homemade chips are necessary. My father finished his penne, and the rest of the dishes were about 50% done before they tapped out. I went in for a dinner on my own and that may have been the worst mistake. The staff could not comprehend I was dining by myself. They kept trying to seat me at the bar. I kept declining and explaining I wanted to sit at a table on my own. The server basically told me that this would cost her tips and she would prefer one person to not take up table space. I told them I would take my business somewhere else. I was then provided a seat with service that seemed to be intentionally ignoring me. The food wasn't phenomenal but it was good, but the attitude to get in the door and a seat when solo was absurd. The ambiance is great and the little home store was quaint, they offer an EMS discount that they don't tell you about and I had already paid. This place was so awful we felt the need to help other people avoid the experience we had. We came here for breakfast. We were the only people there, but the server was almost comically rude. We asked for a cup of water and she made some comment about how "they weren't supposed to provide service" but begrudgingly got us a cup of water. This place is a gem, y'all. If you live in the area and you enjoy patronizing local businesses, Mason's is a must! This building is from the mid 1800's and for many years the Mason family ran it as an Inn. It finally closed in the early 2000's but it was purchased, renovated and reopened in 2015. The original feel of the building is still there despite the renovations, which I think is awesome! Now, where to begin? This place has it all! Their own menu encompasses breakfast, lunch and dinner. You're going to find homemade ... seemingly everything, really. You can eat in the dining room or order at the counter and bring it outside to the charming little patio seating on the front sidewalk, or take it upstairs to eat on the covered balcony, which is what we did. SO lovely! The heritage trail runs right next to Mason's and it's relaxing watching the runners, walkers and bikers pass by. Aside from what Mason's makes themselves, one of the coolest aspects of this business is that they carry LOTS of local products. There's an entire beer room with local breweries products (Rushing Duck, Glenmere, Newburgh Brewery etc) plus ice cream from Trailside Treats in Goshen, local honey, dairy from Otisville, Kombucha from New Paltz ... even locally made jewelry! Finally, I think my favorite part of our visit was the delightful woman, Beth, who assisted us at the counter. I've never met her in my life, but she spoke to us as if we were old friends, and was super sweet with our daughter as well. Fish sandwich was bland, bread tasted like it was from shoprite, tomato made the bread soggy, I took the iceberg lettuce odd. Truffle fries.... had potential although failed short. Don't let the toppings fool you, there was barely any flavor. Definitely needed salt. My friend said that ketchup helped if that says something. The pickle was good. The coffee was really good. Also to mention we were a party of 2 and were told we could sit at any table for 2... which meant we would be sitting able 2 inches from the other table of 2 next to it... making a party of 4. We sat at the bar. The store next door is pretty cute with some locally make things to purchase. Although there used to be more. All in all, I would not go back.
