Good diner. Great burger. Delicious fries. Sweet potatoes. And happy happy waitress. Diner is on the way for us and right in the middle after charging the car. It has so so so much space for Lunch. Burger is crazy good. There are so many flavors and form. We can't pick. You can get sweet potato fries with it. Ambiance is chill. Good old diner experience and zero sugar wait.

We could see the diner from our hotel!

Breakfast in Wallkill, New York... D-lux Diner is visible from the Mariott Hotel and Hampton Inn nearby. It's so convenient to walk over, but it's NOT a 24-hour type of place. It's just a local old-school establishment with down-to-earth service and solid food. Susan was my efficient server. She knew when I was full and offered me a takeout container. When I returned to my booth (after paying at the cash register and remembering to order Pie on Pi Day), she got me a new glass of water and told me to take my time. Thank you! The man at the cash register was helpful. When I mentioned that it was Pi Day, he said that it recently was International Women's Day - that's right! He then added that they do have pie, but it's not on the menu and the only option is apple. That's great! I'll have one! So, my first round meal was the 2-2-2 which consisted of 2 eggs, crispy bacon, and a waffle with coconut, chocolate chips, and banana slices. It was delicious! My second session was the slice of apple pie - it wasn't the best pie I'd ever had, but it satisfied the craving. Susan even added whipped cream on the top! Thanks for the photo enhancement! Overall, it was a wonderful experience! As I walked over, my calabash nephew, Tom, and his groomsmen were walking back to our hotel. I told him that his mom ditched me to get her hair and makeup done for his wedding later that afternoon. No problem. That's more important! It's not everyday that you get married on Pi Day and have a Blood Moon Solar Eclipse on top of it!

Caesar salad before main dish was good.

We didn't wait too long to be seated. Less than ten minutes wait time. Friendly wait staff. Ordered pasta with salmon. My husband ordered a western omelette. He said it was good. I enjoyed my meal as well.

A very spacious and open Diner compared to the trailer type ones for sure. Service was very friendly, talkative and quick, my sever mastered speed walking for sure how fast she moved around. Lox Benedict was good, at least the eggs were perfectly poached and runny yolks, fresh smoked salmon and thank god the heat from the eggs did not cook the salmon, since obviously lox sucks when cooked. English muffin glad it toasted just right without burnt spot. The home fries sadly sucked, undercooked and under-seasoned, but to their credit at least it was mushy mess with pepper and onions other place love flood with the potatoes.

Just done with the diner will never go again - a man walks in with a dog in his man. It wasn't a service dog and she said nothing about it. When my husband brung it to her attention she was very rude. The place should be renovated. It's a mess. I can't imagine how it looks where they store the foods how it can look. Next the service- it was extremely slow. Like super slow but I will say the staff was very nice and it seemed like our waitress was waiting on many tables by herself so I wasn't mad about how slow it was. But it should be noted. Now the Drinks. I truly don't know how I feel! My friend and I both ordered drinks. She ordered the Pom-Amore which is supposed to have fresh pomegranates in it and an edible flower as a garnish per the description. It had neither! She did have cranberries in it, maybe they ran out? I personally don't like that, they should have informed her they didn't have the right garnishes what if she was allergic? I had the cranberry limoncello which was supposed to have cranberries in it and it had none, hilarious I know! On top of that my glass was dirty had something caked on the inside the glass (like my straw wouldn't move it off) so they had to remake it. But it did taste very good. Lastly the food- My friend ordered the burger she said it was very greasy, I didn't try it so I'm not sure. She had the hand cut fries with it and I did try them and they were delicious! The portion of the burger and fries was huge! I got the avocado egg rolls and the Sweet Thai Wings. I wanted to hate the egg rolls because when they came out it's literally just like avocado inside, which is my own fault I assumed it was going to be more like a southwestern egg roll. However, they were delicious! It came with this spicy sauce that was so good. The only down side is that they left the avocado pit inside one of my egg rolls- I took a picture- which wasn't pleasant to bite down on. I also ordered the wings. They were good. The sweet Thai chili did not taste like Thai chili rather more like a buffalo wing so much so that I wondered if they brought out the wrong wings. I will say I got a bit of an ick because I found feathers on the wings. These are fresh butchered wings so it's understandable but also not my favorite thing to have happened. To note: I think it would have been nice because of the dirty glass for them to have offered a free dessert or something (especially since both our drinks were made wrong but to be honest we didn't tell them that they were) but that's just my personally thought for excellent customer service. Again, the waitress was extremely nice so of course I still tipped 20%!

Started off on a good note, asked if we could move tables together since the seating was separate; no problem. We ordered drinks, took a bit to get our drinks, no problem. Then ordered our food. 1/2 hr for the first 2 plates to come out another 15-20 minutes for another 2 plates to come out and this went on and on. They forgot one of our family member's food. We asked the waitress and server numerous times about the food and they were always checking on it. Eventually the food was brought out. Unwashed salad & dry chicken, the elote salad had gummy corn with an aftertaste & dry chicken, chicken and fish tacos just mehhhh, salmon just ok, burgers cooked too well done, soggy onion rings, pizza not good at all. Meanwhile another party that came in 1 hr after us, had all their food even before we had all ours We spoke to the waitress about the service, wasn't blaming her for the service at all, and asked to speak to the manager. Manager never came to talk to us. Eventually one of our family members found out who the manager was and went and spoke to her directly. The manager plainly stated that since there were a few big tables, things like this happens. Things like this should never happen if you had enough staff. And I believe that was the problem, not enough staff in the kitchen and on the floor. Wish I had taken some pics of the food, but it was nothing memorable. Don't recommend this place and would never come back.

Our server, Liv, was amazing from the moment she sat us down and went over the specials--we knew it was going to be a great experience. The menu is still very much Italian-themed and did not disappoint. The drink menu looked great, but I opted for a beer on tap. My sister went with the Cinco de Mayo margarita flight special, and my wife ordered a soda. We started with the buffalo wings and buffalo chicken egg rolls. I originally planned on getting the chicken bacon ranch pizza, but after some debate and consulting with Liv, she recommended The Giada--and she did NOT disappoint. My sister ordered the tacos, and my wife got The Alessia. The wings were just as good as I remembered--crispy, well-done, and delicious. The buffalo chicken egg rolls only got better with each bite. But the true star was The Giada. I was a bit unsure about the ricotta at first, but one bite changed everything. The creamy ricotta, the salty pepperoni, the kick from the hot honey--it was a full-on flavor symphony that didn't miss a beat. It was so good I ended up offering slices to other tables who overheard me raving about it! From the bar area, you can watch the chef work the wood-fired oven and absolutely crush these pizzas. The tacos were a sleeper hit--I would totally order those just to take home--and The Alessia is a great salad pizza that delivered on flavor. We even went for dessert, trying the brownie Liv recommended. Don't skip dessert--every option looked amazing. The dessert pizza is officially on my radar for next time. It's a cozy spot with good music, TVs showing local games, and an amazing staff that make it a complete experience. Huge shoutout to Liv for the excellent service and spot-on recommendations. 5/5 stars.
