Mhew! This diner is massive in size with a full legit bar inside. Not sure how poppin this place gets but it's not exactly just off the highway. Food is average at best and service is average (nothing stellar) even on a dead night. I got a burger that wasn't terrible, not the worst I've had but not the best and I'm judging that in terms of other diner food not five star dinning. I did order a milk shake and while it was good i did wish the glass was larger. Stopped in with my stunning girlfriend to celebrate a relationship milestone. She's been an absolute blessing and not only does she look stunning physically, she's got an amazing soul who loves God. We decided to dine at Dlux with family after church yesterday. Food was good, our waitress was very attentive and nice but he service from the manager was horrible. Upon receiving our check, we asked the waitress if they offered any military/law enforcement/first responder discount and the waitress replied yes but stated the manager would have to take it off at the end. When my dad went to pay, he inquired about the discount as he was instructed to do and the manager replied no. Assuming the waitress was new or simply made a mistake, my dad paid and thought nothing of it. As my dad was putting his change back in his wallet, he stepped aside for the Caucasian family behind us to pay. The gentleman of that party inquired about the SAME exact discount as my dad and the manager replied yes and gave that family a discount. When the family left, my dad circled back to the manager and inquired as to why he was not eligible for the discount and the manager took $5 out of the register and just gave it to my dad. My dad refused to take it as it came off as "hush money." This is a complete slap to the face and a total disregard to our men and women who have served this country. My family and I have visited the restaurant before and experienced what appeared to be some racist behavior from the same manager in the past but we decided to give it another chance. Unfortunately, the food and ambiance is not enough to get our business so my family will not be returning here. Breakfast in Wallkill, New York... D-lux Diner is visible from the Mariott Hotel and Hampton Inn nearby. It's so convenient to walk over, but it's NOT a 24-hour type of place. It's just a local old-school establishment with down-to-earth service and solid food. Susan was my efficient server. She knew when I was full and offered me a takeout container. When I returned to my booth (after paying at the cash register and remembering to order Pie on Pi Day), she got me a new glass of water and told me to take my time. Thank you! The man at the cash register was helpful. When I mentioned that it was Pi Day, he said that it recently was International Women's Day - that's right! He then added that they do have pie, but it's not on the menu and the only option is apple. That's great! I'll have one! So, my first round meal was the 2-2-2 which consisted of 2 eggs, crispy bacon, and a waffle with coconut, chocolate chips, and banana slices. It was delicious! My second session was the slice of apple pie - it wasn't the best pie I'd ever had, but it satisfied the craving. Susan even added whipped cream on the top! Thanks for the photo enhancement! Overall, it was a wonderful experience! As I walked over, my calabash nephew, Tom, and his groomsmen were walking back to our hotel. I told him that his mom ditched me to get her hair and makeup done for his wedding later that afternoon. No problem. That's more important! A very spacious and open Diner compared to the trailer type ones for sure. Service was very friendly, talkative and quick, my sever mastered speed walking for sure how fast she moved around. Lox Benedict was good, at least the eggs were perfectly poached and runny yolks, fresh smoked salmon and thank god the heat from the eggs did not cook the salmon, since obviously lox sucks when cooked. English muffin glad it toasted just right without burnt spot. The home fries sadly sucked, undercooked and under-seasoned, but to their credit at least it was mushy mess with pepper and onions other place love flood with the potatoes. read more

We got there when it was busy with a wait - waited 30 minutes to be seated. Multiple parties who came in after us walked out prior to being seated so we remained the last people waiting. We finally get seated and then quickly after we are seated they seat 3 walk in tables next to us. The server comes to our table first of the 4 tables and takes drink orders and says she will be right back to take our order, but then proceeds to take the 3 other tables food orders. Not one after another, but take an order put it in, walk around, take another order put it in, walk around..... The table next to us had their food by the time she took our food order. I told the host/manager and he gave me an attitude and said she is taking the orders now, yet ours still wasn't taken for quite awhile. Food is delivered with a comment of will be back with toast, that was another 10 minutes wait for toast while waiting with over easy eggs which were cold by the time toast came out. She brought 2 plates, any decent server could have also brought toast.... Another long wait for a check, not surprising we were the last of the 4 tables in the section to get ours. I've worked in the service industry and know how hard it is, however this service was terrible. Server could clearly not handle her section and could not handle breakfast volume in a diner, other servers seemed to be doing just fine. Do not recommend between the poor service and lack of management concern was a horrible experience. read more

I got the some chicken sandwich with a salad. The salad was pretty basic and the raspberry vinaigrette was sweet. The sandwich was ok, but had too much cheese and could use some more flavor (or the cheese overpowered it). My friends got breakfasts and coffee, all of which I believe were way better looking than what I chose. I'd try breakfast here, but wouldn't get the chicken sandwich a again. The chocolate pudding was good and is made in house. The waitress was new and was very friendly and responsive. Food came out quickly and she checked on us a bit. Sunny side up eggs were barely cooked. Beyond that very minor issue, the bigger issue was the attitude of the staff. We were a party of 5 and requested a larger table. We were begrudgingly given a larger table but were told that this "is a business" and not a social space by the owner, and that he hates when customers ask for such things. Ok sure. Minutes after we received the check we were asked to leave because the table was needed for other pareons, though there were no other large groups waiting. It was a Brooklyn reunion with old friends for breakfast, we couldn't have picked a better spot. When we told our super friendly waitress that we may be there awhile, she said "take your time". What a gem, and the coffee refills were constant. I had the eggs Benedict with avocado, the hollandaise sauce was great & my eggs cooked to perfection. It came over an English muffin and some potatoes (home fries if u will) that was so much I couldn't finish them. Kudos to this place that let's u sit back&relax & enjoy your company. Giving 1 Star despite place having decent food and a nice server. Was sitting at the "bar", and my husband asked the server to change TV station on TV right in front of us from tennis match to news so we can see the weather. There was another TV at the end of the bar that had a news channel on. Apparently, only manager can change TV stations, so, when the server asked him to do that, the Manager, Tom, refused, stating condescended, "the whole world is watching the tennis match". There were two other people, one at each end of the bar, and neither one of them cared if the stations were switched, and they both left a few minutes later, so, we were the only two people sitting there. I told the manager prior to leaving that I thought it was pretty rude not to accommodate my husband's request, to which he apologized, but also, added "the customer is not always right" and asked if I was done... so, as far as apologies go, not my best one... Very unpleasant experience overall, left me feeling disrespected and poorly treated Will never go back there. Do not recommend. read more

Normally I don't do breakfast but I had errands to run and quite a busy day so I came here, I did a little research while sipping on a cup of coffee and decided to order a breakfast. I have to admit I'm glad I did. My waitress was great, Laura was polite and added a few suggestions on what to get. I didn't want anything to heavy, and she knew just what to get me. I ordered the English muffin with a Bernese sauce and locks. Wow it was fantastic. Without even mentioning it to her she quickly refilled my coffee and ask how my meal was, it was great! After venturing to the diner for a second time my mom and I planned to have an early birthday lunch. The hostess graciously seated us despite it being Super Bowl Sunday - the slowest of days! Mom loves the pot roast (usually a blackboard special) and I went for filet of sole with salad; then obviously dessert (canoli + ice cream = duh). Everything was cooked just right and served hot. What a nice experience! We were seated immediately to our choice of a table or booth. The menu is EXTENSIVE, but we arrived wanting breakfast. It still wasn't an easy choice! Eggs, pancakes, waffles, breakfast wraps... the choices were endless! Anita, our server, was friendly and patient while we decided our order. Luckily breakfast is served all day, so if we want to come back later for another choice, we can. The food arrived FAST. My child ordered the 3-stack chocolate chip pancakes. We finished breakfast and were still chatting over coffee when he came over and told us we needed to leave because they had a line and needed the table. Looking around I pointed out to him that there were 2 empty tables. He says the people waiting will want a booth. We make our way to the front to pay and there is nobody waiting for a table. My friend just finished venmoing me the money so I thank her and he says you're welcome. I said I'm not thanking you, you just made us leave and where is this line you're talking about. He tells us they left! Bologna! Then as we're walking out the door, he says "well screw you"! I kid you not. What a clown. Won't be back. Definitely my favorite diner in Middletown. They have all your typical diner selections plus more but the restaurant looks way nicer than your typical diner. It looks more like a casual sit down spot. I've been here twice so far and the food and service has been top-notch. they have an abundance of cakes which is why I definitely want to try next time!. I would not recommend this place. The food is nasty. The services is bad. The floors are dirty, the workers look dirty. We tried to force ourselves to eat the food, but started getting sick. The food is tasteless and taste like it's very old. It looks like they are not having much business there so they are trying to reserve food so that they don't continue to lose profit and they are jeopardizing quality and taste by doing so. When we told them that we did not like the food, they got very upset with us. And the manager came from the back and started to curse at my husband. They obviously do not know how to talk to customers. Because the correct thing to do is to apologize and say what could we do to make it better so that we can improve our Business. Very conveniently located off 17/86, this is an upscale version of what you typically expect of a diner... fast service, huge portions, varied menu, but with traditional Greek (and clearly made on site) options, which were all excellent. If I could have given zero stars I would have. There is no sense of pride when it comes to the food or service. The food was cold, my eggs were overcooked when I specifically asked for them to be on the softer side. I don't need crispy bacon, but this should have been at least warm. It was soggy and cold. I asked for a blueberry waffle, I got a waffle with blueberries thrown on top. When it came out, the server told me that's how they make it. She never came back to check in, only when I asked for the check. Any decent server would ask why a whole plate of food is left untouched. AVOID THIS PLACE!!!!! GO TO MADDY'S DINER INSTEAD! it's owned by a family and people who actually cares about the food and service. I went here right afterwards and have a great experience. Our last day in the N-Y-C for the holiday and having breakfast with the Mrs. When visiting family, this is the spot for breakfast. The food is fresh, tasty and hot when it comes out. The service is ALWAYS with a smile because...well, that is just New York State hospitality. The ambiance in this place is family oriented and warm. It is fairly large and so seating is ALWAYS available and this place is always busy. Definitely a place to come and have any meal, most especially since it's close by (walking distance) from 3 hotels of choice. A high recommend for those that are visiting New York State. read more
