I have actually been going here for a while knowing that the service is mediocre because it's very convenient and they almost always can accommodate a walk in, however, I have had too many issues add up to where I will probably begin going elsewhere and pay slightly more for better service. In this economy I do not like to escalate specific people and the woman who did my nails was really a sweet lady and I wish her the best! But I do have some advice to management: - please stop saying YES to everything even if your staff has no idea how to do it. Including cat eye or ombre nails. It has felt very much like they were just doing trial and error during the appointment which usually resulted in me saying nevermind. For my last appointment which was supposed to be cat eye, it looks like I just have sparkly nails because it was not done properly. Please delegate the more intricate work to someone who knows how to do it. -improper removal of gel and damage to nails- my gel was removed improperly and my nails have been filed down to paper thin. When I was just washing dishes my thumb nail was so flimsy I could barely focus on what I was doing. I'm sure they will tear or I will have to just cut them down soon. Please make sure your staff is aware of how to properly and safely remove gel polish as to not damage nails. read more

3.5 stars rounded down. I had an appointment for the first time here, at 5:15 for a gel manicure. I arrived on time and didn't have to wait at all. As soon as the nail tech(didn't catch her name) started, I could tell she was rushing. As pictured, she got polish on almost every finger and didn't wipe it off. She ended up finishing the manicure in like 25-30 minutes. While I do like not being there forever, I didn't like how fast she was doing them as it seemed like she was ready to go and just didn't care what they looked like. Overall, I did really like the salon and the variety of colors offered. I will definitely give them another try with a different nail tech or maybe even going earlier in the day. read more

Every time I come I get the same thing, basic pedicure french tip with gel polish. I get charged something different every time. When I asked for the break down of cost, nobody could explain exactly what I was getting charged for. The french tip I just got looks like something I could have done at home if not worse. Some lines thick and some thin. When I asked for the french tip lines to be fixed, I was ignored and my nail tech just mumbled under her breath. I will NOT be waisting my money here ever again. The salon is beautiful and well kept. I have been coming here for a few years now with my family. Sometimes I would get who I made an appointment with and sometimes I wouldn't. The owner seems to know me (he should by now) but you never feel welcomed. Many of the techs are nice and many are extremely rude. (Especially to my daughters) It's definitely a hit or miss. I have recently taken a break from the dip bc my nails need to heal. I don't think I will be coming back. I'm sad bc it's the perfect location but I just can't stand the customer service. Very disappointed by the service given to my by village district nails. I have been going here for a while and today will be my last visit. The older women with the purple stripe through her hair was rude and made me feel uncomfortable. She first put on acrylic, when I was there for a liquid gel fill in. Then when I told her she tried to convince me that this is what I wanted. Online the prices are just completely wrong. The price of a liquid gel fill in is listed as $40, but was then told it was actually $56. During the service, she pulled and pushed my hands aggressively and then scolded me that I need to remember the prices better. After all this I still didn't get what I wanted. Every nail is a different shape and size. I would like a refund immediately. read more

I was super excited to try this place. I made an appointment and my experience started off pretty well. They matched me with a wonderful nail tech named Paula. I would highly recommend her for a dip manicure. But the reason for my poor reason is because of what happened next. After my manicure, they transitioned me to a pedicure chair, where I sat my feet in water. It started out fun, but I waited for over 15 minutes for someone to start my pedicure, and nobody came. The water got cold, and I tried to get someone's attention, but nobody would acknowledge me. Finally I got the attention of one of the ladies, and ask to bring me a towel to dry my feet, so I could leave. I expressed my disappointment, paid, and left. I wanted to give them one more try, just incase it was an anomaly. Went back a week later as a walk-in. The lady started my pedicure, and about 5 minutes in to my pedicure, she clipped my cuticle (which happens sometimes) while it hurt initially, it wasn't until she tried to stop the bleeding, and continuously pressing with her nail that it stated to throb. She kept saying sorry, and I expressed that I appreciated it, however after over 10 minutes of trying to stop the bleeding, I finally said that I wanted to stop the pedicure, asked fir a bandage, which they had to look a long time for. I do NOT recommend this place for a pedicure, but ask for Paula if you are getting a dip manicure she was great. read more

Stopped in this morning/afternoon since I was in the area, scheduled my appointment after another appointment I had and was seated right away, I guess by the manager. I was placed with Kasey/KC and she was awesome !! She was extremely friendly, prompt, she asked me if I wanted something to drink and held conversation with me. When I say this was the FASTEST full set I've ever had. I mean it !!!! And nothing rushed where it was a bad job. But she did an amazing, absolutely amazing job!!!! They accept walk ins and appointments, there is over 20 pedicure chairs, and I was taken right away as a walk in on a holiday! I stopped in on a weekday three weeks ago and did not have to wait. The salon is nice and private and very spacious with many people working. Tracy took care of me. I got a french manicure with dip and it was the most gentle experience getting my nails done ever. I wasn't sure how long the nails would hold up because she didn't have me put them under the light but they are still beautiful and strong after all this time with no chips. Also, the way she did my nails didn't take as long as I've been accustomed to at other salons which was another bonus. Just know that it is an extra $10 to have the cuticles trimmed but it might not be necessary to do that at each visit. Mine still look good. I recently went for a full set of acrylics and they were so tragic I got them taken off and redone somewhere else within the week bc I couldn't stand to look at them any longer. It's not that this salon is horrible or anything, there's just so many other places to go within a couple of miles of here that are way better for way cheaper. Tonight was my first time here and I had a great experience! Rachel was my nail tech, and gave me exactly what I wanted. She was also super sweet/pleasant to chat with. I've been searching everywhere for someone to have as MY nail lady who does them just the way I like and I think I finally found her! For a salon occupying prime real estate in Cameron Village, I was really unimpressed by my service here! The good news was that they were able to take me in as a walk-in on a weekday afternoon. The bad news was that the pedicure was just "meh." I have really cracked/dry heels and mentioned to my nail tech that I needed focus on that area and she nodded. I was disappointed to see that they she just used a pumice stone instead of the metal tool. I asked if they had that tool available and she said it was $4 extra. This was unusual since getting rid of calloused heels with the metal tool is a standard part of a pedicure elsewhere. When I left the salon, my heels still looked very cracked. Even my non-observant boyfriend looked at them and said "it doesn't look like they did anything at all." read more

I've given this nail salon two visits in the past few weeks. Both times I have a great manicure but both times I have several gashes in my cuticle beds. The nail techs move so quickly and carelessly during the cuticle cutting process that it results in injuries to the clients.. leading to unsightly red spots that make manicures not so pretty. It all feels very rushed and not at all relaxing. I'm debating returning as I've been nipped now on atleast 3-4 fingers where they use the green solution to stop the bleeding (without gloves). I've been here about five times. It's a great choice for groups because we can always sit together since they have so many pedicure chairs and there's always staff available to take us right away. However, they do have a tendency to rush through the services. It seems like they are being timed and always in a hurry to finish. They usually do well with pedicures but this time nail technician accidentally stabbed me with the cuticle trimmers causing immense pain that lingered for days. It undoubtedly wasn't intentional and she was apologetic but I think the speed with which they try to do services was the root of the problem. I was uncomfortable throughout the rest of the process because she continued to speed through the service like Edward Scissorhands with those cuticle trimmers. The bright side is, my pedi looked great when she was done (with the exception of my bright red throbbing big toe). They use quality products and they do not thin out nail polishes with polish remover like some of the smaller shops so their results last for a relatively long time. I'll probably go back if I am with a large group due to the ease of taking all of us at once but I would definitely advise the technicians to take their time due to what happened. read more

The nail salon is situated inside of a shopping center so there is plenty of parking but I'm sure if it were later in the day it would be full people! So I am happy that I got there early in the morning! When I first walked into the salon I was immediately greeted by the guy at the front I told him that I needed my eye brows done and he showed me where to walk. It was a small room in the back which was cool. The salon was really clean and well organized. The lady that did my eyebrows name was Rachel and she was really nice! UPDATE: the manager reached out to me after my original post and apologized for the bad experience. Also, he offered a refund and said he hopes that i give them another chance, which i plan to do so in the future. Hopefully i can update this to a 5 start review after my next visit! This use to be my go to nail salon when i was in college, but not anymore. First off, the man who "greets you" is super rude.. I've been told that the men are twins so i am not sure which one i was dealing with.. I went in with girlfriends to get manicures and we were all sat together, which is great! Two of uI am not sure what happened in the process of doing my nails, but the top coat had to be redone 3 times.. the first time the top coat was dripping off of my nails because it was put on so thick.. the second time I was told they were dry when they were not so they told me it was my fault and the third time they finally dried. $50 and an hour and a half later.. this is what i ended up with.. thick, lumpy and scratched looking nails.. save your money and go elsewhere. read more

Came in last Wednesday to get my nails done for a wedding I was attending over the weekend. By the time I got to the wedding on Saturday my nails had browned. I went back in today to get the color fixed and after the fact was told it would be $30 just re-polish...after I just spent $118 here a week ago. This was my first visit to this nail salon - and definitely my last!! I went with a friend for classic pedicures, which were $37.00 each. My friend had previous polish still on, and they charged her an extra $10 to remove it - which she didn't know until checking out. The lady doing my pedicure left me sitting in the chair with cotton between my toes, telling me to give them 5 minutes to dry before putting on my sandals. She also never put a top coat on my nails. I had to ask the lady doing my friend's pedicure if my lady was ever coming back. She had to go call her!! I told the manager who just stood there smiling, giving some excuses - not caring one bit! He never offered anything for the poor service I received!! Upon arriving home, I saw that she did not even polish the top edges of my large toenails!! There are many great salons in Raleigh!!
