This is at the brand newly opened location on church street, not the old one on Huffman mill. Waited a couple minutes to be seated. There was an employee there chit chatting with a customer while we waited. She then walked away and said someone would be with us shortly. The stand was unattended and we weren't even sure we were in the correct spot. The opposite lot was full so we parked on the south side and thankfully got it right. It would be helpful to mark the entrance in case we parked the opposite side. The turn in going south has one turn on the opposite end. Plenty of parking. The place looks brand new: nice decor. Server Chelsea was very nice and helpful. She got a chicken pasta Alfredo and I got a shrimp and crab cake sandwich. The pasta was way overdone and mushy. It was even very watery. The chicken was sweet. Sweet chicken and Alfredo was pretty terrible. They said all the chicken has the sweet marinade. They should have specified that on the menu because we would have never ordered sweet chicken especially not with Alfredo sauce. The dish in my opinion was pretty bad. I would give that a 1.5/5. Mine was decent. I liked the dill sauce. The bun was sweet and small for the patty but it was ok. The fries were over salted but they came out piping hot and fresh. Would I eat there again? Probably not. It's a small menu with a lot of chicken dishes. Their signature sweet chicken sauce was a turn off for both of us. It was reasonably priced and the server was nice. Overall I have to give the place a 3.5/5. The waiting when we went in and having ro listen to an employee chatting with her friend was off putting while we waited. Had she acknowledged and said someone was coming would have been fine but she completely ignored us until she finished her conversation before saying anything and that was a good 2-3 minutes. Food was great. Sea salt chips were crisp and flavorful. Grilled chicken salad was huge. I couldn't finish it. Plenty of chicken on it. Our friend had the shrimp and grits . The shrimp were spicier than he liked. Found that next time we should order it with less Cajun seasoning. Rolls were warm but not browned. They looked like Pepperidge farms rolls. Service was great. This was my first time here and from entering I was already expecting a pleasant dining experience. Our waitress Marilyn was pleasant and friendly. She always remembered our requests. I ordered chicken tenders and they were delicious. My daughter ate hers and mine too. The only suggestions would be to list the option of shrimp and chicken pasta and to let customers know that additional Alfredo sauce is at an extra price. I was visiting Burlington for a few days and the Village Grill was recommended. This is a relaxed Florida Keys vibe place with intimate lighting. Our server, Amanda, was the best. She made sure we got what we wanted and gave some great suggestions. The house salad was fresh and the honey vinaigrette was just the right amount of sweet, salty, and tangy. The new restaurant space is absolutely stunning. Started with the pimento cheese and chips app and it was really nice, but I still miss the alligator bites. I did shrimp and grits which was a winner, creamy and just a little spice. My friend got the crabcake sandwich and loved it. The drivethru for takeout orders is a great new feature. read more

Another Great Meal at Village Tavern! Village Tavern is my favorite restaurant and I have reviewed it a number of times. I won't go into great detail today... I got my usual crab cake but switched up the sides. As sides, I ordered fresh sautéed spinach and garlic mashed potatoes. The spinach was delicious and I will definitely order it in future. The potatoes were not a favorite. They tasted like instant. The manager came out and stopped by each table. My husband asked if the potatoes were instant, and she said, "definitely not". She went on to tell him she'd take him to the kitchen to see, and they had someone constantly peeling potatoes. Regardless, they taste powdery. Our service was very good. The atmosphere is very nice. My husband and I have dined here many times. The food is usually consistent. This is my go to place when I want cajun chicken pasta. The sauce differs from time to time but normally good. It took our server a while to get to our table after we were seated. Another server noticed that we had been sitting a while with no service. My husband ordered the shrimp stir fry. Wasn't your typical stir fry but he said it was good. He wanted to add chicken to it but was told he couldn't. The complimentary bread is usually warm and pretty good. Great restaurant that stays busy, which is a testament to the delicious food and great wait staff they have there! The parking lot is a bit small so there can be a challenge finding parking. Vintage ambiance felt cozy and perfect for a long brunch with girlfriends. Our server was very pleasant and just the right amount of attention was given. I started off with One Hot Bloody Mary and it was the perfect balance of refreshing and spicy. I would've enjoyed more than one were it not for the drive home. I enjoyed the shrimp tacos. Found this little spot and ordered their shrimp and grits to-go (sorry for the poor presentation/composition of the picture) and enjoyed it while on the road, driving (a difficult feat, to say the least). Truly a wonderful experience! We've passed this place so many times not knowing what was within, and needless to say, we WILL be back. The food was delicious. From the freshly crisped pita chips that came with the chicken salad, to the perfectly cooked steak, to the delectable kids chicken tenders with fresh fruit, it was a wonderful meal. Our server was attentive but not overbearing. She automatically put my child's drink in a cup with a lid, because she knew better than to put a drink in a glass cup for an active child. My husband and I were out venturing for dinner. We had plans to go to a chain restaurant but that's another story. We found Village Grill on yelp! And boy are we glad we did. The reviews were great so we knew we were in for a treat. We didn't know how great it was! We were seated immediately and our waitress came to get our drinks. My husband inquired about key west chicken so she let us try the marinade. I was dead set on steak until I tasted the marinade and changed my order. It was so good!!! We ordered the crab and shrimp dip for an appetizer. The pita chips with it were perfect. It was well seasoned and very rich. I got a side Caesar salad, which was good! The croutons are homemade which made it even better than just a plain normal Caesar. My husband got the key west chicken breast with some sort of potato chip and broccoli. He loved his! The potatoes were right up his alley, the broccoli was good and not just plain, and the chicken was great. I had the key west chicken Alfredo. The Alfredo was perfect--not too goopy or over sauced. The chicken and marinade cut through the fat in the dish which made it better than what you might get in a jar. The standout was the key lime pie! We split a piece because we were full but honestly I would have made myself sick to eat a piece by myself. Our waitress was great!
