Dropped in for a birthday meal & the consistency was there for me. I often order the fettuccine and didn't disappoint this time. The crab Rangoon dip and wonton chips were a nice appetizer. I could've eaten chips alone! Quite tasty. The pasta was just as I remembered and the asparagus and crab app was also yummy. My friend enjoyed her étouffée as well. The chef came out to greet us and check in for any issues we had with the menu. I haven't been in a while but this was a nice visit. I took leftovers home and still enjoyed the meal. I will admit the crawfish were better fresh. The table choice for my reservation was not ideal as it was right behind the hostess station. My waiter was quite the character and kept us entertained for the duration of the meal. I may not visit as frequently but do enjoy this space when I do.

We decided to come here recently to celebrate our anniversary and had a wonderful experience overall! The restaurant is very cute inside, with a charming and romantic vibe, perfect for date night. Our food was absolutely heavenly! Our catfish was fried perfectly and the flavors complimented our dishes incredibly well. Serving sizes were huge but we enjoyed everything so much we couldn't help but finish our food in one sitting! Although the food spoke for itself at Blue Denim, I feel our service experience fell short during our visit making it a 4/5 for me. We came around 630 or so on a Saturday evening and the restaurant was surprisingly not very busy. We were sat quickly and given water, however no one came to take our order after that for a very long time. It was a bit off putting as our waitress ended up being who sat us when we arrived, and as I mentioned earlier, it was not busy. Our table was passed by several times without being assisted until my husband spoke up. I'm not sure if our waitress was having an off day or what but it seemed like we did not receive the same quality of service as the other tables with different servers unfortunately. We will absolutely be returning here in the future for the food and hope to have a better experience with the service next time! We can't wait to try more of the menu!

My apologies for the "after the crime scene" photo... the food was so good we forgot to take pictures before it disappeared. If you want bold flavor, a little spice, and that real Louisiana soul, listen carefully: drive, Uber, scooter, skip, or walk if you have to. Just get there. I promise you...this food is potent, robust, and straight-up smack-your-lips good. I ordered the Jumbo YaYa, and let me tell you... it had me warm, happy, and contemplating a second order before I was even halfway through. My husband had the Catfish Orleans, lightly breaded with that rich roux situation going on - real Bourbon Street energy honee-chile! My niece ordered the shrimp and grits, and she literally hummed the entire time she ate. Not talked... hummed. That's how good it was. Bottom line: come hungry and bring your stretchy pants. PS make a reservation!

If you're looking for authentic Cajun flavors in North Carolina, Blue Denim Restaurant in downtown Greensboro is simply outstanding. This has become my go-to place for business dinners and special occasions, and every visit reinforces why. The restaurant captures the spirit of New Orleans beautifully from the food to the atmosphere. The vibe is warm, cozy, and inviting, making it perfect for both professional meetings and relaxed celebrations. What really makes the experience special is the attention to detail. Jody, the owner, clearly cares deeply about every guest and every plate that leaves the kitchen. That level of hospitality shows in everything they do. Our waitress Hailey was fantastic, attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu, which made the evening even better. And of course, the food... absolutely exceptional. Tonight we ordered: * Crispy Spicy Shrimp * Gumbo Ya-Ya * Crawfish Fettuccine Every single dish was incredibly delicious. The shrimp had the perfect crisp and heat, the Gumbo Ya-Ya was rich and full of authentic Cajun flavor, and the Crawfish Fettuccine was creamy, perfectly seasoned, and unforgettable. Blue Denim is always solid good. Consistent, flavorful, welcoming, and authentic. If you appreciate New Orleans style Cajun cuisine, this place is a must visit in Greensboro. Highly recommended.

Amazing Cajun and Creole spot in downtown Greensboro. First off, our server was excellent. She was super friendly and took great care of us all evening. A huge shout out to Jdean as well! We've been here numerous times now, and he always makes the experience that much better. Funny, witty, and just an elevated evening when he's working. There are always plenty of laughs when he's around. The food is outstanding. We've tried numerous dishes over the times we've visited, and everything has been delicious. The Crawfish Rangoon dip comes with these amazing homemade wontons that are to die for. The crab cake dish covered nearly the whole plate and was incredible. The crawfish fettuccine had a rich Parmesan cream sauce that oozed with flavor. And for dessert, the white chocolate pecan bread pudding was decadent and delicious. Flavorful dishes, friendly service, and a fun evening out. Blue Denim never disappoints!

This is one of the places I love to eat when I'm visiting Greensboro! I first found this gem several years ago when bringing my daughter back to campus. Since then, she's returned several times on her own. It's a tiny little spot, but perfect! Ive never been disappointed with the food or service. We had the duck nachos appetizer... Yum! I wish there were a few more on the plate! We chose the King Catfish and Crawfish Etouffee as entrees and there wasn't a drop left on any of our plates! To top it all off, we shared a banana pudding. It was a great way to end our experience!

Banana pudding. This presentation does not match other pictures... what happened???? Waited 20 minutes for this....

I have been wanting to try this restaurant for YEARS since it opened but I moved away for a bit and now I'm back! My family and I are from Louisiana originally so I'm a sucker for anything Creole and Cajun inspired! My husband surprised me and took me here for my birthday and was happy to learn he was able to secure a coveted reservation! When we arrived we were instantly greeted but did have to wait a bit for our reservation time. 2 other parties came in after us (one very large) and they also had to wait, making the small waiting area a little too cozy and crowded. We were seated first and then the other parties and we waited....and waited.... We watched the other parties who were seated after us get a waiter, get told recommendations and get to order drinks while we still didn't have a waiter. I'm not sure what the miscommunication was about our waiter assignment but I honestly wanted to get up and leave. Since it was my birthday and the dinner was a surprise, I decided to be a little more patient. We finally got a super sweet waitress which calmed my nerves a little. I ordered homemade lemonade, the crawfish beignets, and the waitress helped me pick between the shrimp and grits add étouffée. I was a bit confused when she said if you are in the mood for something like a soup get the étouffée but I later found out.... The homemade lemonade came out quickly and was delicious. It's more on the tart side which I like. We then got the crawfish beignets.... Every beignet I have ever eaten in my life is more of a puff pastry donut and either stuffed or topped with the topping (in this case crawfish). I found these to be more of a hush puppy or crawfish fritter with very small minced pieces of crawfish within. They were very good with the come back sauce (reminded me of remoulade sauce), just not what I was expecting for a beignet (should have checked the yelp pics first). For my étouffée.... All the authentic flavors were there!!! I was impressed!!!! It was also filled with crawfish (great recover from the lack in the beignets) and a large enough dish I had half to take home. The one thing that was a bit interesting is that it was quite runny and loose (hence the soup comment from the waitress). I'm use to étouffées being a bit thicker, but again the flavor was there so this is a solid authentic choice. After our meal we decided to try dessert since it was my birthday! There were at least 3 other parties in the building who were celebrating birthdays so when their dishes came out they had sparklers and songs sung! I was excited (I like pomp and circumstance!) so we ordered the banana pudding and it took a bit to come out. I thought wow, this must be the good homemade baked banana pudding. When it finally came out 20 minutes later, I was extremely disappointed and confused. I didn't get sparklers, I didn't get a song, and was brought a plate of a build your own pudding concoction in mason jars with a sad banana on the side. I quickly went to Yelp pictures to figure out how I was suppose to eat it and noticed NONE of the pictures look like what we were served. Even just a month ago, the pudding was put together in a jar with the banana on top which matched the description the waitress told the table next to us. I really don't think this was a change in presentation, instead, just pure laziness.... I decided to remove everything from the dessert plate, pour everything on it, chop my own cookies and make the dish somewhat edible. The "pudding" was quite thick and tough like just out the freezer icecream. The combined flavor was good, but the experience with this dessert was a bit strange. Honestly don't know if I'll be back. I'm curious to try their shrimp and grits since I'm seeing rave reviews and the grits are local... but so many strange things happened that I'm a bit hesitant, and I'm not talking NOLA /Louisiana strange.....

This place is an absolute gem! The service was great and so friendly. The owner is often there during dinner service. The Cajun charm is lovely. The food was amazing and reminded me home!

When a restaurant tells me that in order to set a reservation, I have to put a credit card down to secure that AND if I don't show up, they will charge said card $20 per person that was on the original reservation. I must be ready to be knocked off my feet with some of the best food and service that I've ever had! After all, you're setting the expectation that your restaurant is so good that I'm going to pay for your time one way or another. Here we go... This was for my wife's birthday dinner, she is a southern girl from Louisiana. With very limited options in the area for a creole and Cajun type of restaurant, I thought this was perfect for us to finally try for her special day. We got there on time for our reservation. It wasn't that crowded and they were a few empty tables when we arrived. We were told it would take a couple minutes to get something together anyway. Not a big deal to me. About 10 minutes later we were finally seated. After we took our seat, there were three other parties that were sat down after us. This place is very small so it's easy to notice who's walking in and who's being taken care of. All three of the above mentioned parties that came in after us were greeted and were able to begin ordering drinks and foods before we were even acknowledged. That didn't make me happy, but the occasion of my wife's birthday was more important, so at this point, I looked past the mishap and wanted to have a good evening. We started with an appetizer and went with the crawfish beignets. As a person who has been to Louisiana many times, and married into a family with people from that area, I've had my fair share of beignets. When these came out, they looked more like hush puppies/fritters. So I was a bit thrown off by the presentation. Still, we ordered them so it was time to dig in. Where was the crawfish? These were pretty much hush puppies with some seasoning in them. Just breading inside formed into the shape of a ball. Nothing about this made me think I was having any crawfish at all. For the price of $15, I was highly disappointed. The better option is to go to Long John Silvers and get the same thing off of their menu and pay a lot less. For my entrée, I went with the steak and frites. One of the things that I enjoy about eating out at places is that they can make something in a way that I can't at home. They do something so good that I can't duplicated myself. If blue denim needs somebody to show them how to cook a steak, call me in, because I can do better than this. I can make that same steak, excuse me I can make this steak way better on my own grill or stove at my home. I asked for my steak to be cooked medium, it was cooked more closer to well done. Now some people might say.... WhY DiD YoU OrDeR a StEaK At a CaJuN/CrEoLe ReStAuRaNT?!?!? Here's my answer... this restaurant has a very limited menu, around only nine main entrées on there. If you have that limited amount of options, you BETTER be good at what you offer! What's the point of making something and offering it if it isn't good or right? We mentioned that it was my wife's birthday. There were two other parties that were celebrating birthdays as well that evening that they were acknowledged by the whole staff with a dessert and also sparklers for celebration of their day. What did we get? Just our dessert in front of us with no fan fare. On top of the lackluster enthusiasm compared to other birthday parties, we were presented with our dessert in a way we'd never seen before. We chose the banana pudding and when it came out to us, it was in two different jars. One jar was just the custard, and another jar with a few (like 3) vanilla wafers and caramel. Then 1 sad looking half sliced banana sitting on the side of the plate. We literally had to make the banana pudding ourselves, dump it out of the jars onto the plate and mix it so it was edible the way that it is supposed to be. Please look at other pictures on here of other people who got banana pudding and how theirs was given to them compared to ours. This was an absolute joke, just like this place. Bad service, long wait times for everything, mediocre food, and other customers being treated different than us, it's not a good combination. My wife's side of the family are all from Louisiana and the south, we're real Cajun food is made and it's an understanding of how it's supposed to be done. I would be embarrassed to bring them to a place like this.

It's been over three years since I posted my last review for Blue Denim but not much has really changed - it's still my favorite restaurant in Greensboro! And for so many reasons! I love the intimacy of their space downtown, it always feels like a treat to dine here. Our service is always nothing short of stellar - we want for nothing while dining here. The food is absolutely incredible, my favorite pasta in the world is their crawfish fettuccini. I could bathe in it. But they also have a lot of other delicious dishes that are worth ordering such as the fried chicken, steak frites, and king catfish. They also have delicious cocktails and appetizers. We love their crawfish tails, duck nachos, and brussel sprouts. If you leave without ordering their version of banana pudding for dessert then you're making a huge mistake. If you haven't had a chance to dine at blue denim then I highly suggest you make that happen sooner rather than later!

Went to Blue Denim and had a wonderful birthday dinner. The crawfish beignets and crawfish rangoon (not pictured) were AMAZING. Some of the best things I've ever tasted. The entrees, gumbo and crawfish fettuccini had a level of flavor that only a real cajun can develop. I also had two jeansboro mules and it was a top notch drink that was mixed very well. Our server made the experience as good as the food and i will absolutely be back!

Blue Denim is one of my favorite restaurants in town. I tried the crab cake for the first time last night and it seriously goes on the top 10 meals of my life list. It was SO good. The actual crab cake was super lumpy (in a good way) with huge pieces of crab and not a lot of breading. It was SO fresh, some of the least fishy seafood I've ever had. It was on some crispy potatoes which were pretty good with a corn purée and a basil oil. It all went so well together. I loved the banana pudding as well but wasn't blown away by the bread pudding. Our server was funny and attentive and overall just great vibes.

I've been there before just to have a few cocktails at the bar about 45 min before closing & had the same experience. Between excellent service, from the host to the kitchen staff, and being a bright, cheery place decorated in a modern farmhouse feel (only complaint is the HARD seating), we love this place. The food is always delicious and seasoned perfectly with FLAVOR. For the appetizer, the Salad Pizza is absolutely scrumptious and was recommended by our server our first visit here last year. Honestly, it keeps bringing us back. The flavors are incredible. It has feta, mozzarella, topped with organic greens, shaved onions, tossed in a lemon/dijon dressing with shaved parmesan. It's a flavor bomb in the mouth. The meatloaf, is to die for. If you're a meatloaf eater this is for you. It's so tender and juicy and perfectly seasoned. Melts in your mouth and the sauce on top is the perfect blend of sweet and savory to top it off. For my two sides this time I chose the fried brussels sprouts and the greens. The greens are always seasoned perfectly and the brussels sprouts were crispy and full of flavor. They tasted even better dipped in my meatloaf sauce so that was a win-win. My boyfriend had the special which was short ribs. For his two sides, he had greens and green beans. The short rib was perfectly tender and absolutely delicious full of flavor and moist for him. The green beans and the greens were also perfect as well full of flavor, just enough fat and butter. It's a great little date spot or a family dinner. They also have outdoor seating covered with umbrellas. There's a bar inside with a TV if you choose to go watch sports and the food here is always on point full of flavor and makes you want to come back and try more things on the menu. Overall, a really solid dining experience, and I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu.

My partner visited Black Magnolia last week after her massage at Green Leaf Wellness center and raved about her cinnamon roll, so I decided to treat myself to one as well and it did not disappoint. I found the Patisserie straight away as I passed it on the way to my massage, but the signage on the curb helps since some businesses in Revolution Mills can be quite difficult to find. The storefront itself is quite small, consisting of a standing room and the glass case of baked goods, but there is seating outside and around the establishment. The staff was attentive, briefing me on all the cinnamon rolls they currently had and letting me know that there were some baking that would be available a bit later. Each roll looked decadent with flavors ranging from lemon blueberry, s'mores, and classic. There were also scones and other baked goods available as well, but I had my heart set on the Classic Cinnamon Roll. I bit into this beauty on my way home and it was the softest and most delicious cinnamon roll I have ever had! Baked with brioche dough and topped with cinnamon cream cheese frosting, the pillowy texture and flavors were so comforting and satisfying. I don't eat sweets often, so this was the perfect treat to end my day with. I am definitely looking forward to trying the lemon blueberry next!

I will suggest that if you are looking for more of the savory items you do have to get there early because it will sell out. The cinnamon bun and scone were absolutely delicious. I got there right on time because they just took the scones out. So it was freshly iced and so yummy. What's not pictured is the chocolate chip cookie. Just do yourself a favor and try it. It was the best chocolate chip cookie I've ever had. Just to note, this place is in the cut and you have to go down a few stairs but look for their sign posted outside and parking is right across. I'll definitely come back to try more items.

They are located in a nice little spot with ample parking and it's easy accessible. The interior is simple but clean. Plenty of seating. The ladies who work here are very friendly and helpful, came around a few times to check on me, offered fried side to go with the greens , offered a refill on my sweet tea. Great service! About the food. Probably the BEST FRIED CHICKEN in the area. I really can't judge on that because I haven't sampled other fried chicken in the vicinity but based on my own research of sampling fried chicken all over North Carolina, I feel confident in my assumption. It was fried just right. It was SEASONED. It had a very nice batter that was crunchy and the chicken in the inside was tender and juicy. Every bite was tender and juicy. These ladies should teach a cooking class on how to make fried chicken-to other restaurants. The SWEET POTATOES were perfectly cooked and flavored in butter and cinnamon. You could eat it as a dessert. But not overly sweet. Just right. The GREENS were tender and seasoned perfectly. Greens and fried side with their delicious CORNBREAD could be a meal in itself. The SWEET TEA-perfect! All around, best home cooked food/soul food you can get. I will be back and I highly recommend for true SOUTHERN COMFORT food.
