This was by for the worst pizza I've ever experienced! The crust was a bready one, Not anything like the pizza dough I look forward to when I go out to pizza. The tomato sauce had so much oregano, you could barely taste the tomato sauce. The artichoke hearts were dry and had a very strange, not good taste. I highly recommend driving the extra 5 minutes down to the Pizza My Heart in Aptos. Very nice pizza there, and by the slice. Or best yet, Mentone or Cavaletta if they're open. He did not offer a corkage fee and acted like I was taking up too much of his time. Later, when I suggested they all they offer a corkage fee, he said I could pay for a bottle of wine, $28. Pretty good! I had low expectations because pizza in this county overall has been disappointing besides pizza my heart, mentone, east end gastro pub, and mountain Mike's (two of which are chains). We were pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed the pizza and the sandwich was pretty good too! We came back again less than a week later. The pizza texture is on the crispier (thin but thick at the same time?) And crust gets big bubbles. I could see them popping the dough bubbles while waiting inside. We love Village Host! We come up to Aptos monthly and usually always get a pizza here with my in laws. Our favorite is the Triple P, but tonight we did a classic pepperoni and it was delicious. Service is relatively quick, and we like that we can do a gluten free option for my MIL when needed. We usually do takeout, but they do have plenty of tables/booths and some arcade games to keep people or kids busy. Pretty old school vibe in there which I like! read more

Staff was friendly. A couple downsides to this pizza place but over all was an okay experience. I "think" the pizza dough was homemade. I ordered online and tipped $2.00 on a large pizza for pick up. The woman behind the counter literally tossed the pizza on the counter with distain as if I was taking the pizza out of her children's mouths. Aren't you getting $20/hr? We have noticed this place so many times driving by over the years and never quite stopped, it is ridiculous that it took a family friend recommending it to stop by. We ordered a large pizza 1/2 all meat with red sauce and 1/2 Artichokes, feta and Pineapple with a Pesto base to go. Kylie was the young lady who took our order, she was super patient and kind with me and made some suggestions on the non-meat side that made my taste buds celebrate! The non-meat side was ordered for me and this is one of the best pizzas I have EVER had and I don't saying that lightly since I love me some pizza! It has to be said that this establishment does not skimp on the toppings; my husband gave the meat half a double thumbs up and said he finally felt like he got what he paid for! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I have been going to Village House since I was about six years old and it first opened in Seascape. It used to be a tiny little section of the Seascape Village, but it has grown. Their pizza is my very favorite and all of the choices are amazing. I especially like chicken in a green dress. There is something about the pizza that is like no other.
