First time here. It is a very colorful shop. I saw it advertised on Facebook and I wanted to see it. The wall paper and the colorful chandeliers really make the place pop. I grabbed some taffy to give as a gift. You get a card that identifies the taffy when you get back home. I had one and it was not on the card but that's okay. It was still good. 4 oz was $2.76. I wanted one piece of chocolate, I would call it a turtle, but staff said I had to buy at least 1/4 lb. which equals $9.95. Well, that's a bummer. I have never been to a candy shop that I could not buy one piece. They always say so much money for an ounce. Even though I did not agree, I did not lower the score even though I spent more money than I wanted to. This is an ice cream gem for Emerald Isle. They have a big selection of ice cream and candy. The lady that runs the place is very nice. They also appear to hire a lot of young folks to help during the busy season. But the best thing in the store is the Bannana Pudding Ice Cream. OMG- do yourself a favor and try it. It is fantastic. And to say that we didn't have respect or show respect to your employees, is crazy! Thank you have a good night. I went in last weekend .With me and 3 other friends. My friend ordered a simple sundae. And she asked for a slight modification, that had nothing to do with the sundae. Mind you, she told Neely two times that she wanted that modification. Neely proceeded to not do the modification. And when my friend asked told her a third time that she wanted that modified. Neely made a snarky comment to my friend. Customer service is just as important as the quality of the product. We have purchased ice cream here many times, and it has always been wonderful. Today, we bought the Dubai chocolate and strawberries in the cup and the Dubai chocolate and strawberries with waffle cone chips. Both of these together cost $35, so we expect it to be good. The strawberries were too sour to eat. They tasted overripe and were just plain terrible. We all agreed, so I went inside to give some friendly feedback that they should check and possibly throw out those strawberries. I did not ask for a refund, nor was I offered one. The girl at the counter was defensive and was not receptive to the feedback. She offered nothing else, not another product in replace, nor was she apologetic. As kind as I was, I expected more polite customer service. At her age, I was much better skilled in dealing with situations than our present youth. The manager needs to train the employees better in the future. I was a polite custoner giving friendly feedback to try to help the business, because I cared. Sadly, our Dubai strawberry desserts went straight in the trash, and our business likely went with it. We'll switch to Sweet Spot for the future. Have visited three years in a row, the ice cream and other options are delicious. My entire party of 5 ordered the waffle deserts, everyone left happy. The staff were super friendly and talked with my party about other Island "must do's". During my visit however, I was really disappointed in other guests and how disrespectful they and especially their children were within the shop. If you want to wait in line to see average ice cream flavors, get snapped at, and quickly be rushed out, this is your place. We went around 8:40 and by the time we got to the counter my significant other tried to order a milkshake and at first one girl said ok, and turned to make it while another woman snapped at her and said, "We ARE NOT making milkshakes, we are closed." In my head I was thinking..."Ummm ma'am... there's a line out the door and no closed sign posted anywhere? In fact there is an electric open sign on the door. Am I on an episode of Seinfeld? " (No milkshake for you!) I'm sympathetic to the customer service industry and lack of workers, but the polite way to tell brand new customers who waited in line at your store for the first time that you won't serve them what is on your menu probably should go something like this... " I apologize we can't make milkshakes, we are short staffed and to expedite orders we are scooping only. I hope you understand- at the very least hang a sign that says that. Suggestion ONE (Otherwise it comes across as I'm tired and don't want to clean the milkshake machine bc I had hoped to close at 9 so I'm going to scream at you no milkshakes and be passive aggressive like you should have known we were closed when we don't post hours on a website or door). We were polite ordered scoops and tipped them never making a fuss bc there was still a big line. Suggestion TWO It would also help expedite orders if you had a sign somewhere with the flavors for the day before getting to the counter. Suggestion THREE Another tip- it would also help non-locals if you had clear hours posted so everyone was operating under the same rules. In Maryland where we live if someone is closed, one person will lock the door and turn off the open sign to visually cue people. They also would serve people who were there long before "closing time" whatever was on the menu as those customers also waited 20 minutes or more to be a patron at that establishment. We wanted to love this place with the cute candy shop vibe, but it will be our first and last time we will ever get ice cream here based on customer service alone. read more

Our first trip was so delicious that we had to come back again before we headed home. Once again the amazing staff took care of us! This time we got TWO of the Nutella and strawberry waffles! It is seriously so good!!! The littles got ice cream cones and our teen got a cookie dough sundae, everything was perfect! I was in the area and found a new candy store! There was taffy everywhere! The staff was very friendly, too.

Astonishingly hostile staff. I was waiting to order alongside nine family members, when my child needed urgently to use the bathroom. I asked if there was a restroom in the building. The answer was an annoyed statement that they do not provide any public restroom. I tried asking if they knew of any nearby restrooms, but the staff only answered that they don't want people pissing on their walls. Fine, whatever, but my kid needs to go somewhere. I tried asking "where would you go" and they answered "I would go here because I work here." Well, that was obvious. I tried rephrasing my question but the manager appeared and told me to get out. I never got to try the ice cream. To my recollection, this is the only business to ever tell me to leave, and I can't recall another time when a food service business denied customer access to restrooms. My husband and I went here twice this week during our vacation. The service was great (friendly, helpful, quick) and the ice cream was delicious! They have unique flavors, as well as the classics. The staff is always friendly upon arrival, and are quick to offer a sample of any ice cream you may want to try. The ice cream variety is great, and the options for how you want your ice cream are vast. Chocolate dipped cones are delicious and the scoops are generous (only ever need a single scoop). We were highly displeased with this shop. How can you go wrong with ice cream?? Well, multiple orders in our party were incorrect. My dad ordered a raspberry cone but received coffee? The employees were rude and unenthusiastic. The manager convinced us to get a bananna split but it was made incorrectly as well. Ben and Jerrys is better. Additionally, I needed to use the restroom but they told us it was out of order and that we weren't allowed to use the employee restroom. So much for customer service. read more
