A little disappointed on our last in dining visit. We usually order to go. We came in at 6:20, got seated right away, the waitress came by (very friendly) took our order and walked away. It's now 6:56 and we still have not gotten our drinks!!! Not acceptable at all. We have been politely waiting to see how much longer it takes. She has walked by a few times bringing out food and a pie for tables around us but has not stopped at our table at all. I get these places get busy and that maybe she might be new. I really hope that this is not their new standard of service. At 6:59 my husband finally got up and looked for our waitress to remind her of our drinks. She explained that they were low on staff (cook and dishwasher) and she had forgotten what we had even ordered so we had to repeat our drink order! The place was relatively quiet and not too busy. Our food came out shortly after. The all American cheeseburger comes with Swiss and American cheese, bacon, onion rings, lettuce tomato and onion and thousand island dressing. Ours came with two meat patties and two slices of American cheese, two bacon strips on the buns...nothing else. Again, we called the waitress just to clarify we had received the correct item. She apologized and brought all the missing items (except for the onion rings which they were out of). We tried not to let this experience ruin our outing and laughed it out, she even got a good tip. I hope management reads this review and alleviates the work load on their staff. It would be ashamed to let this establishment go downhill so fast after their remodel.

Stopped in for breakfast while in town for a wrestling match for our daughter. Service was great. The fresh squeezed orange juice is delicious. And then there is the food. While their menu is quite large and the food has the potential to be good my food was COLD and my potatoes were under cooked. My boyfriends eggs were over easy no where near the over medium he asked for. And his biscuits and gravy were also COLD. I really wanted to like it.

I did a pickup order this morning and nobody was at the counter so I ask for ketchup or something but I figured they were busy so I let it go. I got home with the food and It was burnt. The hashbrowns were rock solid. I tried calling the restaurant to see if I could get new plate. Nobody answered the phone. I just can't believe you serve food like that and still want to us to leave you a tip. This ridiculous and I'm very disappointed because I was very excited for this meal. I hope they can improve for this. This is very unfortunate.

I had already eaten some of the bacon before I took the photo. We had a great meal.

There is an Extensive breakfast selection. Michael our server provide a great service. The food came out really fast and was delicious. The prices were also very reasonable.

Given the recent storms hitting the Fremont area nonstop, we figured we'd support this local mom-and-pop spot for lunch this weekend. We walked in and were quickly seated at a booth near the kitchen window and the lunch counter stools. The greeting was prompt, and drink orders were taken--iced tea and Coke Zero. Yep, this little diner is proudly a Coke Zero establishment. Classic! I usually get the club sandwich, but this time I took a moment to consider if I should branch out. But, I ended up sticking with my original choice. I went for the club with tots, crispy of course. My husband opted for the Big Bopper Burger and crinkle fries. While we waited for our food, we chatted, checked our phones, and had a little people-watching session. One memorable moment was watching a toddler trying to feed boogers to a teenager. Classic diner experience! I couldn't help but overhear the servers gossiping at the lunch counter while rolling silverware, occasionally letting out a few choice words. I'm not one to judge, but it is a business, and I can't help but wonder if that might bother other customers. On top of that, I overheard them questioning whether a to-go order looked right before boxing it up. Makes you wonder... After what felt like an eternity, our food finally arrived. My tots were supposed to be crispy, but they were more like soggy, sad little bites of disappointment. I could tell they'd been fried crispy and sat around too long. The club sandwich was good, as always, though I wish the toast had been a little crispier. I get it, though; that happens when a sandwich sits in the window for a bit. My husband didn't have complaints about his burger, but there was one odd thing. The fries on his plate were barely there. He had just a scattering of a few cold ones. The server then mentioned they were making him a fresh order of fries, which left me wondering: did he get leftover fries from a previous order, or whatever was left in the fry basket? It seemed a bit off. He said the fries on his plate were cold, so I guess the mystery of leftover fries remains unsolved. Unfortunately, this was the most disappointing meal we've ever had at Mel's. I'm not sure I'll be in a hurry to return next time I'm in the area. It's still a cute spot with a lot of potential, but it fell short this time.

There were five of us, and they had no problem accommodating our group, which made things easy right from the start. I ordered the prime rib sandwich special, and it was solid--tender meat, good flavor, and paired well with the bun and cheese. The fries were nicely seasoned and hit the spot. We also had a few cocktails, and those were well done too, which helped set a relaxed, celebratory tone for the night. One thing that stood out was the birthday touch--they brought out ice cream for the birthday guest without us even asking. That kind of gesture goes a long way and made the night feel a little more special. The atmosphere is comfortable and works well whether you're just grabbing dinner or celebrating something. The only downside was the service being a bit slow at times. That said, we weren't in a hurry, so it didn't really take away from the experience. Overall, I'd say it's a solid spot in Fremont. Good food, a welcoming vibe, and thoughtful touches--definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.

I will say that I find it very difficult to find the positives at this time with the establishment. Firstly, the same waitress is there and she is miserable. She acts as if you're an inconvenience for being in the establishment. The food quality is low, and they have messed up the order 2/3 times. I do applaud the host/server who corrected a mistake that the kitchen noticed on a takeaway order. Some improvements I recommend- non styrofoam containers. They melt from hot food and spill. Retrain staff on service etiquette, and work on delivering a well rounded meal that holds up to the prices.

This is a MUST TRY kinda place if you find yourself anywhere close to Woodcliff Lake. Being that it was our first visiting here, our server Ainsley was very patient with us and gave us time to look over the menu. We both opted for the house salad to start. Very good!! Being that it was Thursday and every Thursday is burger night, we both ordered the house special the " I dip, you dip, we French dip". It's an all beef burger topped with roast beef , grilled onions and Swiss cheese. Served with a your choice of sides and a bowl of as Au Jus . I'm going to go out on a limb here and honestly say that I cannot remember a time that I had a better burger than this. It wasn't all the French dip toppings that made it so memorable, it was the beef patty that was cooked and seasoned to perfection. This lends us to believe that all their burgers are going to be amazing. We will be going back.
