Meatloaf with bean beans and Hashbrown Casserole. Zero star hot mess. Avoid.
Brett G.

The first time here for dinner and it was a total dud. While there was no line to be seated (which was nice compared to breakfast), they sat us in the furthest room with sunny windows, no air circulation, and flies buzzing around. While the food and service is normally the redeeming qualities here, the server first rushed us to order and when we needed a couple minutes ended up disappearing. The food: the kids meals shined here. Both loved the cheeseburger and chocolate chip pancakes. Mine however, was probably the worst meatloaf I've ever had. It was not hot, but dry. The flavorful sauce on the crust was the best part, was minimal (and apparently you can't get more on the side). What? While they probably do have better options for lunch/dinner. I think we will stick with breakfast...or kids meals.

Definitely not the best service, but somewhat expected when one full grill is broken according to our server. She also had a table of 12 with a few other smaller tables so she was very busy. The food on the other hand tasted great. My steak and eggs were cooked perfectly. My son enjoyed his chocolate chip pancakes as well.

We got here around 10:00 on a Saturday, 15 min wait not bad. Plenty to look at in the store while you wait. We had the steak and egg casseroles. Very tasty not greasy. Biscuits were ok. Friendly service and didn't take long for our order. Coffee also was great.

Usually a great place for breakfast with good service and great tasting food. I tried their steak and eggs which did not disappoint. My steak was cooked perfectly and seasoned nicely. Plus, adding points to my rewards account is nice.

I ordered the French toast with cinnamon apple as a topping, along with the eggs and sausage. The French toast was much better than I was expecting and I would order it again. The scrambled eggs and sausage seemed a little undercooked. We asked our server if we could get it cooked more and he said he could microwave it. They still looked pink after but seemed cooked. I would recommend getting the bacon instead of the sausage. I also ordered the chocolate pecan pie which didn't have much chocolate in it. I thought they gave me the regular pecan pie but the host, who was very nice, checked and said it was the chocolate one. Kids ordered Mac and cheese which either didn't come with a side or we didn't get one. The kids grilled cheese comes with fries but we asked for Mac and cheese as a side. They came with juice/soda and a biscuit. Our server did a great job. It was our first time in a very long time and we took a while deciding what we wanted. He was very patient with us and checked on us throughout the night. There are lots of toys, candy, and other items in their gift shop. They had a lot of seasonal items too. We will be returning again soon.

First off, our waitress Kayle was an absolute pleasure! She was smiley, kind, helpful and sent us off with drinks to go. Sure- most wait staff should do those things, but not all do. She was sunshine- and made everything feel warm and welcome. You can't go wrong at CB. No matter where you are you know you can get a huge meal at a reasonable price. Dumplins', meatloaf, fried chicken- everything is always so good! And of course there's the store part that feels so cozy and has a bunch of other eclectic things you don't see anywhere else. Plenty of parking too. I'll be back. I hope you Enjoy!

I had a great breakfast there with a friend this morning. There was about a 20 minute wait, but it was a beautiful sunny morning and hey, I guess a lot of folks wanted to have breakfast there. Service was speedy, very friendly and professional. Our server, Valentine was exceptional. She made sure I had all the amazing coffee I could drink. My cup never got empty. I had the breakfast with chicken fried steak, two eggs, hash brown casserole, biscuits and gravy and grits. All of it was hot and delicious. All in all, a very good experience.

The food was really good. Maybe more sawmill gravy for the mashed potatoes but overall it was great. Their meatloaf is terrific.

We stopped here for brunch with family on Sunday, and I don't know how it wasn't packed! Every…read moresingle thing on the menu sounds fantastic. We started with the biscuits, which came out hot and fresh. These were so delicious and buttery, and the peach and blueberry jam took them to the next level. My husband and I both had the mountain morning bowl. To me, this is a perfect breakfast! Goat cheese grits, crispy potatoes, egg, a little spice...YUM. The other members of our party also loved their meals. I can't wait to come back and try more!

Tupelo Honey is a fairly decent place located in the downtown area of Omaha. I've been here many…read moretimes because of how good the food is. That's the main thing that brings me back. Ok the other hand, the service is rather iffy & unpredictable. The chicken & waffles is my go-to for each visit, and they have many types of delicious sides to choose from, with my favorites being the biscuits & berries, goat cheese grits, and also the fried green tomatoes. I have zero problems with the food that they serve here, they always do an excellent job at preparing whatever they need to prepare & the portions are always satisfactory. As for the service, there are days where you will receive perfect service while on others the service is not so great. Some days you will be attended to in a timely manner, while there is other days where there isn't anyone available or willing to seat you somewhere. I've also experienced instances where they didn't attend to our table to take orders until I made a complaint. Most of these instances were during days where the place was virtually empty so it's not because of the place being busy. I've also ordered take out from here before, again some instances are perfect and there's other instances where they don't tell you if a certain food is out of stock via text or call so if you ordered something that isn't in stock, you're forced to wait for them to prepare something else once you arrive to pick up your order. They also don't always include syrup or butter in the takeout bags for chicken & waffles. One minor thing I'm also disappointed about is how the portion of grits has lessened over time, going from being served in a bowl to instead being served in a small cup/mug. Overall, I certainly don't return for the service because you never really know if it's going to be a good day or a bad day for that. It's always the food that brings me back. I do want to like this place, and I do to an extent but again the service is always unpredictable. I'd still say the food is worth coming here to see how it goes.

Hidden treasure in the heart of Old Mill. As my friend said, "more people need to know about this…read moreplace." All of the food is made to order, and it's authentic Louisiana fare. Friendly staff, decent bar, and great meals. Budget-friendly food that's better than the standard whatever you're used to. Cool vibe - can't wait to go back. Also - check out their reverse happy hours - weirdly early and extra-late. Great deals. Cheers!

We live right by Acadian Grille, so we pop in there pretty often. It's a nice little Cajun…read morerestaurant, which there are not many of in Omaha. The interior is a little boxy, but with lots of decor like chandeliers with Mardi Gras beads hanging down, some uplighting, and cute New Orleans pictures on the walls. Our favorite little side/app, are the Boudin Balls, which are kind of like hush puppies, but with a nice helping of remoulade on top. Yum! My fave go-to entree is the Five Pepper Cream pasta, which is fettuccini tossed in a creamy creole sauce, with a huge breaded filet of blackened chicken on top. Another favorite is the Creole Mac, which is a Mac and Cheese, but with a spicy sauce/spices on top, and filled with andouille sausage as well as sliced, grilled chicken. It definitely has a kick, so if you're averse to any heat, then maybe choose something else. And lastly, I sometimes get the Cajun Meatloaf, if I'm feeling like a heavier dish. It is meatloaf, like you've obviously had a million times, but it is sitting in a dish full of grits and sweet potatoes, and topped with a creamy white béchamel sauce. They also have a lunch size portion of this, which I appreciate. And each entree comes with a little slice of cheesy bread, that's great to dip in the extra sauce of your dish! We sometimes also get the desserts, and they have a great crème brûlée and bananas foster. It's hard to find a good bananas foster in Omaha, and theirs is really good, and very large! The service we have had has always been pretty good, but we did have a weird encounter with one server recently. She made a joke about something (I can't even remember what it was), but it was a little bit poking fun at my husband. It was fine and we all laughed a little at it, but what was weird was that she kept coming over and repeating it over and over in different ways. It was a little annoying and awkward. The owner (I think?) was walking around making sure everything was ok and chatting with each table, so he was great - no complaints there. I will say the only other drawback is that it definitely is not an inexpensive place to eat, so you can't return TOO often. But when you do, you better come hungry and it needs to be a special treat. Acadian Grille is one of only a few creole/cajun restaurants in Omaha, so definitely give them a try if you are looking for that style of food - or know it and want to find it in Omaha!

I was surprised to see they had a cod fish and chip basket for only $9.95! I also got a pumpkin bar and brownie to try some of their "cake by the pound" It was DELICIOUS, AMAZING, MADE TO ORDER FISH! And perfectly crispy fries. I was so impressed by this basket, I've been craving it since I had it!! The brownie and pumpkin bar were both great, moist and tasty. Lots of cute decor all over the walls and a soap opera playing on the TV - I knew this place was legit. The owner (she was the only person there, so I'm assuming she was the owner, anyway), was so sweet and kind. I was headed to my Mom's for her birthday, so popped into Ruby's for a slice of cake for her, and Ruby made sure to ask if I needed a fork or anything (which I did, so am so glad she asked, as I forgot I needed that!) Also, when I went to pay, my wallet popped open, exploding my cards everywhere, and she helped me pick them up and make sure I had everything before I left. Excellent customer service for this clumsy girl - LOL! The delicious cake/treats, top notch vibes, and sweet owner make this an absolute 5 stars in my book!
