When we had left Prima Bistro reservations after a rude hostess, in a half full restaurant, we walked across the street to Village as we love going there. We were hoping for a fine dining Saturday night but Soooo glad we. Smell here. A new (to us) hostess found us a last minute seating at the bar in a packed restaurant and we were able to watch the Husky bowl game! Bartender was slammed but great still while trying to train a new one. Nice convo with others even though our pizza was dropped we were great just having a salad and drinks and they comped us one round for the hassle. Not perfect but reliably good in the end. People have raved about this place so I was a little bummed when my expectations weren't meant. We visited the restaurant Sunday evening to dine in and they had a sign they were only doing takeout. They took our order and said they would text us in 40-50 mins but never asked for our phone # so I went back and gave it to them. I went back to check after that time since no text was sent and they asked for our name again and gave us our order, which was....frustrating. Went home with our pizza and nothing was really exciting about it. The flavors were standard but we have had better frozen pizza from the store so after spending $60 something I was shocked. Terrible service. Before I proceed to tell my experience, please read the other reviews about service as well and decide if you want to risk a terrible dining experience. The young man that I assume is acting as the restaurant's host and shows people to their seats was rude and condescending. The evening started with our waiter getting our order wrong (he left a topping off after asking us if we wanted said topping that came with the pizza we ordered) and after taking our order he never came back to our table. Another waiter was flagged down to get our drinks and yet another waiter brought our food out. At the end of dinner after waiting over 20 minutes for our waiter, my husband had to go to the host to ask for the check and was rudely told "I don't do that, your waiter does." Very understandable, but we never see our waiter nor does our waiter come to our table. (For a moment, he hovered around our table while we were eating and then proceeded to ask the guests at the table beside us if they needed anything.) After my husband spoke with the host, the host proceeded to walk into the dining room. I suppose he wanted to see with his own eyes there were no servers insight, which is exactly what he saw. We promptly called him over and requested to speak to the manager. He asked "why?" condescendingly. I told him because you all's service is atrocious. I believe my directness and clear request for a manager due to poor service surprised him because his demeanor changed but clearly not enough to rectify the situation with a simple apology. Instead, he stated he would go find the manager. The manager never came and we eventually saw him return to his host station after waiting for 10 minutes. So I hope the manager/owner sees this. We won't be back and if you are visiting the island I will advise you to go somewhere better. Saltwater Fish House, for example, is amazing! read more

CUTE spot. Very clean, and the views are gorgeous! Our Caprese Salad was delicious! We got a half and I really wish we opted for the full. I wasn't expecting to be so impressed! We got a split pizza of the Clam and the Village Pizza. The Clam pizza sounded so interesting and I feel like that was going to be very hit or miss, but they hit a home run with that. Was in Langley (in the off season) and looking for an early dinner on a Sunday night. Sundays are very sleepy in Langley, with many restaurants closed, so we were happy to find the Village Pizzeria was open with a lively and welcoming vibe inside. It's right in the centre of the little downtown making it super convenient location wise. You can dine in or easily get your order to go. We were sat down right away at a table with a lovely view of the Sound. The server (Trevor) was super friendly and walked us through the menu. They have pizza, pastas, and salads. We settled on a non-alcoholic beer (Athletic IPA), warm spiced cider, and a Margherita Pizza to share. They did have a full service bar, and an area with a fireplace too. We couldn't decide between the 14 or 16 inch pizza so we landed on the 14 inch which was 8 slices. The pizza is a thin style (not crispy thin, more like a Neapolitan style that is more soft in the crust) and we were hungry so we could have done the 16 inch. Overall we had a nice time with great views, excellent service, and some pretty decent pizza. Would definitely go back the next time in town. read more

We also tried the Esta Feta, and it was tasty although failed in comparison to the pesto slice. The best part? The incredible waterfront views! We were lucky enough to snag a window seat and there was a whale spotting while enjoying our lunch. I will say that service was not the best. The staff seemed really busy so it took almost an hour to get our food. Also it took a long time to get our check. We planned to be there for an hour at most but because of the slow service we were there for at least two. GORGEOUS waterfront views and the crispiest undercarriage you can get on a slice without being too much. Absolutely perfect undercarriage crisp. I think the sauce and cheese need some work to really feel like a true NY slice, it's really hard to recreate the same full-fat low moisture mozz they use over there. Recently the ownership has changed and now the cocktails are watered down, the pizza is lower quality. They lack clear signage and flow, which left my cousin and I waiting in a line we thought was for checking in for dine-in but ended up being the takeout line. Once that was cleared up, we waited only for about 15 minutes before being seated. I know this is a touristy place and a touristy restaurant, but a little appreciation and respect for the people putting food on their own tables might be a consideration. For us this is one of the best restaurants on South Whidbey Island, and we have been consistent patrons for 20 years. Beautiful view! Wonderful drinks and the pizza is so Good. We like the pesto pizza neopolitan style and it's always served piping hot and fresh from the oven. All of the salads are good, from the traditional to spinach and the Caesar. This the best pizza I have had on the south end of the island. Everyone is always happy when they know that is what we are having for dinner. It is no hassle to get your pizza half one type and half another. The sauce is good and overall it is a solid pizza. They do have a lot of tourists traffic. I would recommend calling ahead/walk in and order an hour or so before you want to eat, especially if it a busy summer day in Langley. They staff is friendly and the view is spectacular. read more
