This time I have to complain about the food. I ordered the "bronzed salmon". It was BLACK AND BURNT. As were the veggies ...I'm talking BLACK! I ordered my dinner and sat and waited for my salad to be delivered. It was brought at the same time as my entree. The bartender showed it to the manager who offered me "more veggies". My appetite was gone by then. So they took about $1.25 off of my bill. BIG DEAL!!! If you do come here specify you'd like your salad first and don't care for blackened burnt veggies. Very disappointing! Perhaps the kitchen is having a bad night. Typically the food here is pretty good. read more

The food was delicious. Cooked perfectly and nice and hot. The service was extremely attentive and nice. No booths. Only tables, chairs and bar seating. We were very comfortable with our toddler at a table. The beer was a little pricey but I'd go back just for the food. Hard to complain about anything at this place. We were in the Lexington area and decided to check this place out. It's an interesting best up. It appears like it was originally two separate pubs that were combined. Even two separate entrances. Two bars etc. One side had a band going but we opted to go sit in the quieter area. The bartenders were very helpful and friendly. The atmosphere was inviting and the locals were very welcoming. They had a large variety of beers on tap but you don't notice it unless you ask for a draft menu. Along with the variety of beer on tap they have a lot of bottled beer options and a full bar. I chose a Rochester Red and he got a jack and diet. We didn't eat here. It was a one and done situation, but we did notice that the food looked and smelled delicious. This is a spot close to the water and we will definitely be back when we have more of a full day to explore. read more

Food is ok, but not great. People are great. Microbrews are subpar. But.... Again.... People are great and it's not boring.

Given their awesome location, atmosphere and food, you can give them a pass on the oddly terrible hours and clunky service. I wasn't expecting much, and was pleasantly surprised. Portions are huge, and everything is prepared and seasoned well. The kitchen really know what they're doing. Loved the ambiance and food. But had to wait over an hour and half to eat. Our poor waitress had 8 tables. And no food runner. I understand if short staffed. It happens. But we watched the host literally stand there at the host station doing barely nothing the whole time. Not really helping her. Our party of 3 went on a Thursday afternoon and sat at the bar. The bartender was extremely friendly and our drinks and food came out quickly. We had the bbq chicken salad and the pretzels with cheese. The salad was large and flavorful but the pretzel sticks were amazing. It's always a good time at the Village Pub! They frequently have events at the theatre in the same building as the restaurant and also host bands playing in the restaurant. We were lucky enough to catch the Gasoline Gypsies playing there recently! We usually order one of the burgers, the reuban sandwich, shrimp basket, or nachos with drinks. They make very delicious signature drinks. We have never been disappointed! The waiters/waitresses and bartenders are always a delight! We never have to wait long for a table and usually will be able to get a seat at the bar within a few minutes. The mood at this restaurant is always upbeat and cheerful! We love this place so much we hosted our wedding dinner here for a small group of friends. The location is easy to find as it sits at the heart of Lexington! Street parking or parking behind the building (then walk through the tunnel) is usually available but can get tricky to find a spot on a busy night! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a fun place to have a relaxing meal or catch a show! read more

NIce decor and friendly waitresses serving uninspired bar food. Prices are higher but not ridiculous. Good bar selections. For an appetizer we had some sort of buffalo chicken ranch dip that was marginal at best. It was similar to the infamous "crack chicken" recipe that's been online for decades. It was served lukewarm making the cream cheese coating clumpy. This made for difficult dipping with the brittle nacho chips served. Also had fettucine alfredo with chicken (extra cost). Again, marginal at best, the salty sauce screamed "canned". Worst was the lame hamburger. It was some sort of Texas burger. Requested cooked medium, got rare and cold in the middle. Topppings were haphazardly thrown over the plate. Basically I paid $15 bucks for a reheated frozen patty screaming Gordon Food Service. I should have went to A&W next door. BOTTOM LINE: Two solid stars, no more, no less. Just another uninspired restaurant serving glorified bar food to hungry tourists. You can get this stuff anywhere. Yawn. Next... read more

I went here for lunch with friends. They have a lot of good options for sandwiches and burgers. My friend and I had the fried mushroom fries for an appetizer. They were huge! I liked them with the sauce that came with them. For my meal, I choose a patty melt with sweet potato fries. The sandwich comes with chips. Sweet potato fries are a $2 upcharge. Regular fries $1.50 more. The meal ends up over $10 with the upcharge. I little high for lunch (in my book). I liked it both the burger and fries though. I was a little hesitant about this place with 3.5 stars but I was pleasantly surprised! Came here on a Friday night before the concert in the park. Lots of people milling about town but we were able to get a table for 2 in the bar quickly. Our server was the bartender- she was busy but also attentive to our table. They have an extensive draft list, including a tart cherry beer and my fave Neapolitan breakfast stout. We both had burgers, which were cooked to order, very tasty, and prepared quickly. Well this time we got to eat and the food was good. The server was good and the place is nice, for up here it's the Taj Mahal. The fish and chips were enjoyed by my son, I've never seen him order fish and chips so I was kinda worried he wouldn't like em, but he did. The sliders had a good taste, kinda mad he didn't order a full size burger. What can I say my kids take after me, and our picky as can be. Beef tips were good, they came in a gravy base. Wife was hoping they would have been dry with blue cheese crumbles on them, but still enjoyed them. My Reuben was enjoyed thoroughly, keep in mind fries are an extra $3.00. Philly Steak and cheese I didn't care for, but it doesn't matter I didn't order it...just tried it. Nice clean place with good food and good service. I had their guacamole salmon salad for lunch today and it was absolutely perfect! The greens were fresh, the Greek dressing was spot on and it was filled with everything I love: artichoke hearts, a nice piece of salmon topped generously with guacamole, feta cheese, tomatoes, cucumber and red onion. I would have taken a picture, but I was immersed in our conversation, which the waitress kindly respected. She provided excellent service. Attentive, but not intrusive. Great experience! read more

The food was really good, but felt they could have done a much better job enforcing masks and spacing. Tables were too close together while entire open areas sat empty and unused. Guests were not wearing masks in open areas or asked to by the staff. The chicken sandwich & Reuben were both very good, and the pretzel sticks appetizer. However, our group was uncomfortable enough about the lack of masks and spacing I would not return because of that, regardless of the food. read more

The best service ever! We stopped in on a whim for a late lunch and what a pleasant surprise. Extremely friendly service from the minute we walked in. We sat at a table in the bar area. We were greeted by three very nice ladies. We ordered a draft beer. They have a great selection of local craft beers on tap. The service was quick. Our waitress / bartender was very knowledgeable about the menu, the area and other great tid bits of information. What a delightful individual who truly appreciates her customers. We order an appetizer, the spinach & artichoke dip. It came out piping hot with warm salted tortilla chips. We also ordered the Michigan Harvest Salad with the balsamic dressing. We opted for no chicken. It was so good and more than enough for two people to share. I will definitely be back on my next visit to Lexington. Best customer service ever!! Talk about hospitality!!! We just rolled up to The Village Pub with 6 small children and 3 adults, all fresh from the beach. We were greeted by Steve (I assume the owner) and he said (without hesitation), "We can make something work for you!" Sure enough, we were seated outside and our server took our drink orders within 2 mins! Then, out of nowhere, Steve personally rolls up with water for everyone and a side of bacon for one kid that asked if they had breakfast still. (They didn't have breakfast still so they made it just for him) He also arrived with chips and snacks for the kids while we wait for our food to come out. For those of you with children, you know how much this means! The food was fantastic! The drinks were tasty and the service was impeccable!!! Sadly I can't tell you about how great this place is because they decided to close early tonight. Even though everything says they stay open until 10pm, tonight they decide to close early. We were not the only one who had wanted to come in at 9pm. So I can't tell you I'll try it another time. I hate when places post hours and then don't stick to them. great food and service! we all had different items from the menu and everyone in our party was loving their food! the staff is very attentive, which is saying something because it was packed with people. the only downside was the noise level. the brick walls, open ceiling, and hard flooring amplified every person's conversation. it was like being in a rock concert! we couldn't talk to each other at all and sometimes it reached painful levels. i think closing in the ceiling and maybe adding something on the walls to deaden the sound would work and is definitely needed as we are probably not going to come back due to the noise.....not the food and service...its a shame... read more

This is one of my favorite places. I live locally and eat here with friends at least every 2 weeks if not more. Good food, atmosphere, and the wait staff are super friendly. Unfortunately, I had an unpleasant experience last night that left me feeling it will be a long time before I go back. I was with friends having an early dinner and our plates were just cleared when the manager came over to ask us if we were done. He said he had people waiting and he wanted our table. Geez, we still had cocktails to finish and were contemplating dessert. I was so floored that I couldn't even think of a response. Really embarrassing... and not the way to treat a regular customer who spends money here all winter when there's hardly any business. I can think of several tactful ways he could have approached us that would have made it okay. Very disappointing. read more
