This place has the absolute best chicken pot pie I have ever had. The crust on top of it was beautiful. It was a piece of artwork, almost too pretty that I didn't want to eat it. Get a chicken pot pie, you won't be disappointed. Everyone else at my table also seemed to enjoy their meal. Although three of us ordered chicken pot pies so we didn't just like our meals but loved them. Our server was very friendly and took a few pictures of my table all together. She offered to take as many as we wanted and told us we could move by the fireplace for a better picture. Not only was the service and food excellent. The restaurant is the cutest stone lodge. From the outside it's a cool looking building but when you walk in the real magic starts. This restaurant has a cozy vibe feel to it. There were moose, a fox, a beaver and deer all around. We all had to stop to take a picture with the fox. We also went in during christmas time so all the animals had christmas hats on them! The decorations in this restaurant are adorable. If you don't want to go here for the food, go here for the vibe. Overall Rating: Food 10/10 Service 10/10 Decorations 10/10 Vibe 10/10

Typical cabin lodge atmosphere. Really friendly accommodating staff. Good beer and menu selection. Quality food for great prices.

Off-season during the last weekend of winter, and we rolled in an hour before close on a Saturday night. The atmosphere was completely alive, with wall-to-wall people, and we were quickly welcomed over to a well-lit table. The vibe is very 'rustic lodge', and there is no question you're in Michigan. The food is homemade, and every one of our completely different entrees was cooked with a level of attention that one might not expect so close to the end of service. Honestly, the fact that the food we ordered was so well made at the end of the day, shows the kitchen cares. My rib-eye and green beans were perfectly cooked, and my wife's greek pizza looked fantastic. Friends ordered a giant chicken pot pie that was loved, and some fried fish and fries along with giant drinks. Everyone was happy. The Stone Lodge is ideal for a night out, whether you're looking for something romantic or a fun dinner with friends. There is no question we'll be back the next time we're up that way, as it's a real crowd-pleaser.

From beginning to end, one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. The hostess was rude. Was it because we asked for a better table than the one by the door? Without a word she marched us to a soaking wet table we had to dry with the napkins. The waitress wasn't much friendlier and served our salad before the appetizers, without apology, saying the appetizer is coming soon and don't worry, I didn't put your order in yet. She still rushed everything as I barely started the appetizer when the entree came. But first, My salad was approximately 1/4 brown lettuce and the rest was quite limp. My wife's was decent. When she brought the appetizer she mentioned it was a size for four people. I wish she would have said that when we ordered the portobello fries. They tasted good but the sauce that goes with it was enough for about 1/4. It was laughable. Then the entree came. My wife had the walleye, which I've always liked there. It was overdone and dry. I got the "market price" perch. It too was dry, overcooked and bony. The lemon wedge was so tiny and dry I only got a few drops. Not worth the $32 I later learned was the price. Most other local restaurants charge $18-$21. At least the baked potato and vegetable was fairly good although there was no bread and that should be served with any bony fish. The bathroom was filthy and the ambiance was sub par. The last time I was here, the service was bad and the food was fair. It used to be a favorite place to go so I gave it another chance for my birthday today. Needless to say, I will never go back and you can bet I will spread the word.

The place was maybe 1/3 full. We were seated. The greeter looked at us, turned and walked away, and came back and handed us over to the manager. Never welcomed us. The manager seated us and was polite. He usually greets people and is warm and welcoming. He and I have spoken on numerous occasions, and he is always nice. Once seated, we had at least 3 servers pass by us repeatedly. We were never greeted, never told "be right with you", never spoken to, never received water, or met a waiter. We waited and waited while tables came in, were seated, received water, and so on. I noticed the four people next to us received water and were never helped again. I only noticed because, like us, they were looking around. The place was full of staff. Setting for future tables, chatting, but... no service. We got up and left. Sadly, we will no longer make the drive. The food prep has been declining, and the service has gone from tolerable to ridiculous. We came to have a nice meal. We get treated way better at our local coney. If this was the first or second time I would never post. We refer people here frequently, but now I feel bad for recommending it. It is a lovely place, great menu and it is just not working. Response to comment below: Please note: We love the restaurant. Note the comments from others leaving fewer stars revolve around service. When a business has a hidden issue that may not show up "on the books", often there is a slow, silent client decline of the core customer base. I know it will hop during tourist season so maybe the owners do not care. But the care that went into the menu, the quality of the food products being purchased, and bringing a Detroit quality of food to Lexington leads me to believe they do, indeed, care. We called other places and every single one was packed within a 35 mile radius. One got us in and they said hello when we walked in. And the server was slammed but said "be with you shortly" We are not snobs. The manager walked by our table at least four times and several waitresses walked past, we looked, we raised our hands. It was like an SNL skit. We did not receive even an acknowledgment for the 20 minutes we sat there with servers passing by repeatedly. It has happened at other restaurants, and we get up and let someone know. In this case, so many people were right there, literally inches from us as we turned to flag. It was bizarre. So, thought I would try to get the attention of the owners. Keep in mind my post also said we had medicocre service several times prior. So I was raising a flag. I also mentioned there was a surplus of staff across the room chatting. No one was helping the servers, getting water, making sure the room was flowing. This will cause a bottleneck in the kitchen as well and delay table turnover on what should be a very busy night. So I am not just being a person who thinks I am too good. We could have flagged, eaten, and had the poor service continued as it had on at least 3 prior occasions, we would have just quietly chosen to head to the Detroit area in the future. Because if we plan a nice evening out, the overall experience is also taken into consideration. Look at my Yelps. I rarely comment and its always positive. If it were my restaurant, I would want to know. And when we called all the fine dining within an hour drive and you could hear how busy they were, I realized we may not be the only ones walking away. Because this restaurant was more than half empty. It is a great place. Blessings.

First time here and was not disappointed!…read more I picked this place based on its Yelp reviews. We were tired of going to the same places over and over for dinner so I picked a few towns over and the highest rated restaurant. Oh man! Here is how things shook out: Lobster salad sliders: 5 out of 5 stars. I would eat these again Portuguese garlic beef sliders: 2 out of 5 stars. I wanted to love these but the taste was slightly reminiscent of liver to me. Hubby LOVED it though so take my review with a grain of salt. Lemongrass mussels: 4/5. Definitely good but not my fav Seared tuna: 5/5. I would eat this all day, every day. I adore seared tuna. This was sliced thicker than I am used to but it was delicious! Grilled octopus salad: 5/5. This is tied with the tuna as my fav. So fresh and perfect for a hot summer evening meal!
