Beautiful wood accents with old style wooden bench seats in the waiting area. The station is handicap accessible with a elevator. But I did not see handicap or wheelchair passengers. I had no issues when the conductor scanned my QR code from the Amtrak app. The conductor gave me a seat tag in coach. I entered car 610, found my seat and waited. The train left on time. One of the advantages of coach is you do not have stay in your designated seat. You can walk around visiting the observation car, the Cafe on the lower level of the same car or when the dining car is open for breakfast or lunch you can show up to be seated. Dinner is more likely to be a private table and requires reservations. They accept cash, card or tap-to-pay in both the Cafe and the dining car. Passengers who book roomettes or private bedrooms get all meals included in the dining car. The Cafe is open more often with snacks, light meals, soft drinks and alcohol. Because they are going thru the mountains with tight curves and at least 38 tunnels speed is reduced. There was a straight section between Kremmling and Granby when the train was probably going 60mph. The trip had 2 stops before Denver. Granby for ticketed passengers only and Fraser-Winter Park where anyone can get off the train for fresh air or a smoke break. Winter Park resort offers a shuttle bus to the ski area.

It's been on my bucket list to ride the Amtrak train and I recently had the opportunity to do so. The station in Glenwood Springs is just what you'd hope to see-wooden benches, overhead fans, musty air inside. This one even has some old-timey decorations that take you back in time. When your train arrives, the conductor will come inside and invite you to board. It's a fairly casual process-nothing as stressful as commercial flying. Some things to note about Amtrak in general: * The trains are often late-download the app to monitor it's status-that is usually pretty accurate * The roomettes are tiny, but private. If you want to sleep in peace without anyone around you, it's a worthy expense. * While they say that ID is required, I was never asked to show any. * There is no wifi on the train. Spotty cell service, depending on where you travel. Bring a book. All aboard!

The driver brought the wrong snow chains and was instructed by the company to continue driving even though we were driving in a snow storm. A couple hours into the drive, two tires came off the shuttle, and the passengers had to wait in the left lane of I-70 for over 2 hours since the company couldn't find another shuttle to pick us up.

We had a beautiful tour through still water ranch. With two black brother and sister Mules. This company does a beautiful thing, they rescue horses from the slaughter house They offer private or group sleigh rides. They also do carriage rides in town. We opted for just the 4 of us and boy was it magical. The trail was lined with beautiful trees and snow and mountain homes tucked around us. The ranch is on the back side of aspen mountain and has a stream running through it. We stopped for photos and were able to walk out on a precious little bridge they call "proposal walk" The owner offered us hot chocolate and did a great job telling us about the property. And surrounding homes/area. It was such a beautiful ride! I'll cherish it forever. Men, if you have a girl and you want to make her your wife.... if she likes snow and mountains and horses and streams. Uhhhhh I think this is your spot. You will never find a more magical setting. The owner even shared that he had a ride timed perfect with the New Years fire works on aspen mountain. She thought they were getting out to watch the fireworks from the bridge and he got down on one knee swoon! I mean regardless of whether it's New Years or not it's still a beautiful spot for a proposal. And for us, it was a wonderful relaxing way to start the new year! My teenager didn't dress warm enough and Tai made sure he got some dry gloves and an extra jacket - safety is #1 on these guys' minds. We spent 2 days skii'ing in Aspen and did some crazy stuff, but this tour was the icing on the cake. The tour guides Ty, Matt(?) and Steve were awesome dudes. They were patient with the slower folks and they let the rest of us rip if we wanted to. I'm so glad they only had the Adventure tour that day because it was a beautiful long ~30 mile run where you basically could take the snowmobiles to the limits if you wanted to! I can't than you guys enough for the experience, highly recommended and would LOVE to be back again.
