This beautiful, classy restaurant is the place to go for your semi-formal and special occasions. Think of this place as like a European bistro. Inside you have a long bar with tables surrounding it. Outside is a covered patio with not much noise. I chose the patio on the day I went. It was sunny and crisp. I had two hours between work shifts and chose to enjoy an easy lunch here. I didn't order drinks but Village Tavern has an extensive wine list. I would love to have a glass on my next visit. Their bread tastes fresh. If you take it home, my tip is to reheat it in the toaster oven. My salad was excellent. Gives me inspiration for crafting healthy eats at home. It was what I needed before my next shift. Solid 3 stars overall. FOOD: Blackened Chicken Alfredo with broccoli was a mixed bag. Pasta/alfredo was solid. Broccoli was SO SALTY it was inedible ( informed the wait team ). Experience here was just average. Our server forgot my unsweetened tea completely; she was very friendly but was rather inattentive. The atmosphere is nice to look at but extremely loud. The spring rolls came out cold, they weren't very good. The Thai salad I ordered was average. Overall, very average experience. We had a wonderful time celebrating my son's birthday here. The restaurant had a lovely old world charm with stunning oak wood detailing in the bar and the dining room. ​The food was very good. We had to ask for the bread, but it came out fresh and warm. The calamari had a great kick of spice, and my grilled meatloaf was perfect,crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and paired with delicious, creamy mashed potatoes. I found my new favorite restaurant! Village Tavern is fairly new still, so I suggest making reservations as they can get quite busy, especially during the nice warm days. For appetizers we had the crab dip, nachos, and calamari, all of which are delicious. For our mains, we had the black pepper and honey pizzas (one of our favorites, yum), the grilled chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries (the sandwich and fries are delish!!) and the steak tacos (bad- steak was cold and way over cooked). They were out of calamari at 7:45?on Friday night. The cauliflower and Brussel Sprouts. Food came out really fast. Our server was nice and knowledgeable. SO GOOD!!! this place is great. My parents, sister and I came here for dinner and had an excellent meal! Our waiter was so kind and friendly. She wishing her the best as she is getting ready to go on a one way trip to South America (I believe)! She gave us some great recommendations and was very accommodating for any substitutions we wanted to make. We didn't have a reservation and ended up putting out name down and waiting about 45 minutes. It was a Saturday night, so shocked we didn't have to wait longer! I enjoyed the three amigos margarita, the Korean cauliflower and a Greek salad with salmon. The salmon was a perfect medium well, as I requested and it had the best balance of texture and flavor. The Greek salad paired well with the salmon which was so aromatic, herby and delicious. I tasted the food network featured hot crab dip and that was really good. It was a Thursday evening probably about an hour before closing, it was lively and chatty in all directions, a good mix of people with a 30+ crowd. The server took awhile to get to the table for the first time and then came by and said she will be back and needed to go put things down. She took the drink order but didn't ask for apps. First time here and it was amazing! The environment was very warm and welcoming as soon as we stepped in. The hostess was very polite and even moved up our reservation because he has arrived ~45 minutes early. Our server Ronnie was very nice and explained the menu to us since it was our first time here. We got sat right next to the kitchen and it was really neat to be able to see them prepare all the food. Speaking of food, the she crab soup is absolutely amazing. I had always loved village tavern back in Winston -Salem. I don't particularly cared for the in Greensboro. But since I heard they opened in Raleigh - I can't wait to try it. Finally was making it on Friday. I made reservation the week before because I noticed no spots open on fridays if you book the day before. All the dishes were great. Crab dip - yummy and cheesy. I wasn't expecting more than a basic burger and fries and ended up with some of the most delicious sweet potato fries I've ever had that were not chewy and well seasoned. The bacon jam burger was awesome and cook cooked quite well and exactly as I ordered it. Our waitress who I believe his name was Emma did a wonderful job making sure that we got our food quickly and also got water refills as we needed them and the check quickly as well. Overall, the ambience was a very clean, trendy, but not hipster. The bathrooms were also quite clean and very posh and trendy. Walked in on 9/7 in the afternoon, lots of people standing around, asked for table for 2. She said "5-10 minutes". We walked around and saw tons of seats at the bar. Explained to hostess to take our name off the list - as we would sit at the bar. We sat down, waited, waited, waited some more. None of the bartenders looked at us or acknowledged us. There was a man that had come in and sat at the bar as we were talking to the hostess, he had not been waited on either. A couple came in behind us and sat down and nothing for them either. We tried to make eye contact, no one would even LOOK up and acknowledge us much less take our order. Based on this - we probably won't come back.
