SO GOOD!!! this place is great. My parents, sister and I came here for dinner and had an excellent meal! Our waiter was so kind and friendly. She wishing her the best as she is getting ready to go on a one way trip to South America (I believe)! She gave us some great recommendations and was very accommodating for any substitutions we wanted to make. We didn't have a reservation and ended up putting out name down and waiting about 45 minutes. It was a Saturday night, so shocked we didn't have to wait longer! I would highly recommend making a reservation to avoid having to wait. We ate on the outside patio which is beautiful! We said first available, but would've chosen the patio anyways! It is on the pricey side, but worth it in my opinion. All 4 of us loved our meals and will absolutely be coming back!

They were out of calamari at 7:45?on Friday night. The cauliflower and Brussel Sprouts. Food came out really fast. Our server was nice and knowledgeable. My husband really liked the Tavern burger and fries. The floor around the bar was somewhat unkept. Multiple forks and food on the floor which was a turnoff but otherwise good experience. Outdoor seating was great as well.

Amazing service. We were seated right away. Server "Alex" was very attentive. Plenty of drink options available. Very casual ambiance. A great spot for groups and couples. My wagyu steak was perfectly cooked. A perfect dinner spot if ever in Raleigh.

All the food was delicious! Had a tune tartare appetizer and a ahi tuna salad for dinner which I highly recommend. Our server, Nate, was great! He had a lot of tables but was always checking in on us and gave us great recs. Menu is customizable which is nice. Clean restaurant! May need a reservation! It was quite busy on a Sunday evening. They do also give complimentary birthday desserts!

This restaurant is in a fantastic location in North Hills and delivers a welcoming experience from the moment you walk in. As someone visiting from out of state, I really appreciated the friendly atmosphere and attentive staff. I chose to sit at the bar for both drinks and my meal, and each bartender was helpful and consistently checked in to make sure everything was going well. The 8oz filet was solid--tender and juicy with a light smokiness and just the right amount of char. The sides stood out as well, with delicious garlic mashed potatoes and well-prepared green beans. They also offer a nice drink selection to complement the meal. With both indoor and outdoor seating available, it's an easy spot to enjoy a relaxed meal in a great part of town.

Came here for dinner with family, we had a great time! The inside is huge- plenty of seating with a nice atmosphere. Our server was very nice as well. For appetizers we had the crab dip, nachos, and calamari, all of which are delicious. For our mains, we had the black pepper and honey pizzas (one of our favorites, yum), the grilled chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries (the sandwich and fries are delish!!) and the steak tacos (bad- steak was cold and way over cooked). Everyone enjoyed their food except for the steak tacos, they were not tasty. Everything else was great. For dessert you have to get the chocolate torte- it was amazing!! 10/10. We will be back to try more!

The food was kinda average? It was SO crowded even at 9:30pm so I had high expectations. But it felt like glorified Cheesecake Factory. The vibes were spectacular like it would a perfect place for big group dinner and our waitress Ryan was SOO GOOD - I just wish the food was SLIGHTLY better. Still good food!! Just nothing crazy.

Village Tavern was easy to find and free parking is plentiful. We received a warm welcome for a 1pm reservation. The service here is impeccable. I enjoyed the three amigos margarita, the Korean cauliflower and a Greek salad with salmon. The salmon was a perfect medium well, as I requested and it had the best balance of texture and flavor. The Greek salad paired well with the salmon which was so aromatic, herby and delicious. I tasted the food network featured hot crab dip and that was really good. The restaurant played nice R&B music that I enjoyed. Our waiter was pheasant and attentive. I do feel the pace can be slowed down a bit but I do understand the restaurant was super busy for a holiday Monday.

Stopped for dinner and had a excellent time. Food was all freshly made and drinks were delicious. Onion dip is a must try! Seemed like I was a little under dressed for the place. Service was wonderful, our waitress was very knowledgeable and friendly.

This spot is popping for Brunch! Every single plate was deliciously made. Same goes for the cocktails, refreshing. Staff were attentive and timely. Our particular server was polite and helpful. The space was nicely put together and busy during brunch time.

Mid experience at village tavern I usually get the burger but I went off script and got the chicken sandwich and safe to say I won't be doing that again! Also the server was not attentive didn't refill our waters and didn't come check if we wanted more drinks. Overall I know just to stick to the usual for this place.

This was my second attempt at coming in without a reservation. No tables but I was able to snatch a seat at the bar. It was a Thursday evening probably about an hour before closing, it was lively and chatty in all directions, a good mix of people with a 30+ crowd. It took a little while before order was taken, so be prepared to wait some. The crab cake was good, I wish it would have been cooked a little longer but it had a good amount of real crab meat. The Korean cauliflower was just okay. It had a nice crispness to it but the sauce tasted like it was from a sweet and sour jar.

We were seated fairly quickly without reservations. Food was okay. I've always like the Greensboro location better.

The service was top notch as well. All of the wait staff were friendly, knowledgeable of the menu, and took care of our large group well. I started with the Old Fashioned Flight, with their Aged Old Fashioned, one with Old Forester 1920, and one with Buffalo Trace that they said was their restaurants pick. The first 2 were really good, but I think they gave me the wrong drink, because the one with BT didn't taste like it had any bourbon in it at all. But the waiter switched it out for me with a Tequila OF, which was really good. They brought out two salads for the table, and their Cesar Salad was really good, the dressing was so good. I ordered the Australian Lamb Chops, which were amazing. Simply seasoned, but done so well. I ordered a side of Chimichurri sauce, and it was not needed at all. My wife had the meatloaf, which was delicious, and the group all enjoyed their meals and drinks. We left full and happy. I definitely recommend you add this place to you list if you've never been.

The restaurant is beautiful, cozy, and comfortable, and the hosts and servers have been excellent every time. We made reservations once through OpenTable and once by phone -- both were easy, and reservations are probably a good idea since they stay busy. The food has been great both times. On our first visit, my husband and I shared the ribeye and loved the flavor. Their Caesar salad is also surprisingly unique and delicious with broccolini instead of a traditional Caesar style. I also really appreciated being able to order a single Rockefeller oyster since most places require a half dozen minimum. The second time we visited for an early Mother's Day dinner with my son and shared the off-menu tomahawk, which was excellent as well. The only consistent issue we've had has been steak temperature. We usually order medium, but their interpretation of medium has come out significantly more rare than expected. The first time, we had to send the steak back, and they asked us to identify only the undercooked portions to recook separately, which was a bit awkward and something we hadn't experienced before at a steakhouse. The second time, we tried being more specific and even requested an approximate temperature around 140°, but the steak came out closer to medium-well. That said, the flavors, atmosphere, and service have been so enjoyable that we'll absolutely keep coming back. We're just hoping we can eventually land on the perfect medium steak on a future visit.

Venue: it is good sized venue, ambient and has upscale elegant - classic theater type of look. Went to the small room area in the back to the left past the kitchen. Food: I have tried crab shrimp bisque, cheese steak roll, calamari, NY steak and cheese cake. The shrimp bisque was good but I've had better- for example near by Capital grill and definitely not closed to any of the bisque at fisherman's wharf. But you know what, when I got chunk of crab and shrimp I started to change my mind that it was getting pretty good. Cheese steak roll was pretty good but real rich. Calamari had good flavor but extremely sweet. The whole table agreed that there was unnecessary amount of sugar in there. Steak was nice and thick- however it would've been better if it had more salt and seasoning. The steak was cooked perfect medium rare. Texture was soft but I was slightly suspicious of meat tenderizer in there. Just a thought. Cheese cake was good but again, I've had better. Service: service was good. Although since it was table size to acclimate a party - everyone was attentive. Price: in my opinion it is overpriced. I.usually put price insight in the beginning but I am giving my insight on this last because- overall the experience and food was good. Surprisingly, despite the restaurant being empty, we had to wait about 30-40 minutes. The staff kept telling us our table was "getting ready," which was confusing given how quiet it was. Service throughout the meal was quite slow. We started with the shrimp appetizer, which was good. We initially ordered oysters, but were informed 10-15 minutes later that they were unavailable, so we switched to calamari, which was just okay. For entrées, we ordered steak, crab cake and crab stuffed shrimp . Steak was served on a large plate with a very small portion and no sides included. At that price point, you would expect a more substantial serving or at least accompaniments. Dessert was the highlight -- we tried the crème brûlée, chocolate cake, and carrot cake, and all were enjoyable. One odd detail: the check was split into two without the server asking how we wanted it handled. Overall, for a higher-end steakhouse, we expected better service, smoother communication, and more attention to detail. The ambience is nice, but the experience didn't quite match the price or expectations.

The server was great, and let us linger for a few hours without hovering. Hope to be back sooner than another 8 years from now!

If bourbon and whiskey choices were a personality trait, The Whiskey Kitchen would definitely have…read morecommitment issues...because the selection is massive. Seriously, if you can't find a pour you like here, you may just need water instead. Started with the biscuits topped with crackling and house-made preserves, and honestly, that combo alone made me question why I don't eat more biscuits in life. Sweet, salty, buttery chaos in the best way. For the main, I went with the pork chop and greens. The chop leaned a little overcooked for me personally, but the sauce helped bring things back together and added good flavor. The greens had a nice little kick of heat, but I kept waiting for that deep smoky ham hock flavor to show up like an old Southern grandma entering the kitchen... and it never quite arrived. Overall though? Still a solid meal, strong whiskey program, cool atmosphere, and definitely worth checking out if you're in Raleigh looking for a bourbon-forward dinner spot. Travelin_Broke approved with a slight side-eye from the greens.
