This north Portland commercial complex has something for everyone, and I highly suggest stopping by to check it out. First and foremost, this is a truck stop with all of the ammenities one would expect to find in such a place. There is a convenience store, laundry facilities, showers and overnight accomodations. But this truck stop takes things to the next level. Visitors will also find a movie theater, an oil bar with seating a great customer service, a massage parlor with a wide variety of modalities and services offered, a large family-style eatery, as well as a lounge and entertainment space that hosts well-known musical acts touring the country. Jubitz has been around for a very long time, in various iterations, and it seems to only get better with age. The overall scope of this place is remarkable. The restaurant is massive, the lounge is as well, and the big names that perform here are pretty impressive! I've bookmarked their performance calendar and will be sure to check out one of the future dates myself.

After dumping in a small stack of quarters I realize the pressure gauge on the air nozzle was not working. Expecting my money back I notified the gas station attendant. Becoming argumentative, he wanted me to walk away seeing how I did get some air in my tires. Going on a long trip in the morning I need to know how much pressure was in my tires. He refused to put on an out of service note on the air pump seeing how it was owned by a third-party. Don't get air there and don't get gas there.

The store had the chain-specific items such as Jacksons Bake Shop baked goods, a hot foods section, and deli-prepared items. By the refrigerated and frozen foods section, I spotted some motor oil options available (I had bought a quart of oil the day before and mentally tagged this chain to remember in case of needing oil while out driving). Across the aisle was a selection of frozen novelties, of which some Häagen-Dazs items caught my eye. Looking over other cold items, they also had Icee slushie/slurpee options available. However, volume-wise, the single package of a Häagen-Dazs vanilla milk chocolate almond ice cream bar sounded most appealing, so I went with that. Payment was straightforward and the counter workers were friendly. The store and attached Shell gas station were moderately busy, so I went with a second area of parking a little ways off from the entrance of the Jacksons store, at the far end of the Shell pumping stalls. Nice to have more than one area to park.

My wife and I have chosen another location because of one of their employees constant flitting with older men. Then turns it around and plays the victim. They even gave me a free car refresher, which was a nice touch since most places don't do that anymore. Only downside: the vacuums cost 75¢ and run for about 15 minutes. There wasn't any rain either. The sides of my car were okay but between the person doing an initial light scrub and the whole car wash, my car still left dirty. And the vacuums have wide mouths so they can't get between seats or any small space on top of having weak suction. Better off vacuuming at home or spending the money at a different wash.

Rented a car during our Portland trip, so sought out the closest Costco to the airport. This…read morelocation was it, with 4 islands, each having 3 pumps, for a total of 24 concurrent nozzles/spots. We came around 11 am, and it wasn't too crowded with most queues having at most 3 cars waiting. All the pumps have the extra long hoses, so cars go to either side, regardless of where their fuel cap is located. I did notice that for most queues, cars would wait until all three slots were open before proceeding (eliminating the need to go around cars, or worse, backing in to parallel park on a middle spot). Once it was our turn, we got the middle spot. Using the citi costco card meant one tap is all it took to validate membership and provide payment method. And we only had to pump 5 gallons so was done quickly. We did leave first, going around the first car, but didn't bother looking to see if the next car in line would try to parallel park into our just vacated spot. Also didn't notice if there was a full-service lane (remembering that until 2023, this was the only way to pump gas in Oregon).
