Update: This place is under new ownership and sadly it's gone from top of our list to not returning. The sandwich that we would return for every time has been revamped in the worst way. I like to say when things ain't broke, don't fix it. The stateside sandwich is now gross, WAY over seasoned with garlic, and chopped up and served like a pile of mess. Extremely unappetizing. There is not one distinct flavor (other than overwhelming garlic) and everything just looks and tastes awful. We literally couldn't even eat it. We threw it out even after the owner asked if he could remake it for us. Sadly, no amount of remaking that could fix all the problems. He screwed up big time with all these unnecessary changes. Fantastic Italian deli with a steam table and frozen section to die for. First, lunch from the case is a selection of great Italian/ Greek/ Mediterranean salads and veggies. The steam table has the usual fare, such as chicken cutlet, meatballs, and sausage & peppers, but done well. I stocked up on their chicken soup back when I had the man flu and it was a godsend. They are friendly, the drink selection is healthy, and I haven't even gotten to the frozen stuff, which will feed your posse for a great price with easy to prepare meals. I'm a fan- I get lunch here at least once a week, often far more. read more

Excellent deli sandwiches! Wish more people would utilize this great deli for sandwiches to keep successful! Love the usual awesome ITALIAN wedge, Roast beef on rolls, specialty chicken sandwiches & their excellent wraps! Came in at lunch time during the week. Ordered two sandwiches, Fajita and Hildalgo. Service was quick. Good quality ingredients.

Good deli - lots of options. The roasted veggies are tasty and crisp, not soggy. Lots of homemade frozen pasta and sauces.

Old school Italian deli with ridiculous amounts of inventory including a wall of refrigerators of frozen pasta. Don't see that often in small towns these days. Can't vouch for much other than I always get a sausage, egg & cheese on a bagel and they make it the best around. Staff is always very friendly and I'm sure they will put together anything you can imagine. read more

Not at all impressed!! Ordered an Italian Combo and was given a pre made Italian combo from the counter and all what was added was peppers and oil and vinegar. I also purchased a bag of chips and the total was $11.75!!!!! Wow to expensive and not a great sandwich :( read more

New to the area and spoiled by the famous Italian delis of the Bronx. Was hoping to find a genuine Italian deli but was totally bummed to be served a cold, far from fresh chicken cutlet. Tried to order some of the advertised fried food and was told the fryer wasn't on. Ate here twice and won't be visiting again! read more

I've eaten food from Villarina's a number of times and recently I needed to get food for a large gathering. It could not have gone any better. Based on my input they suggested the menu and how many trays of each, I said OK, and at the appointed time the delivery truck was there with the food, bread, salad, baskets, sernos, utensils, etc. They even remembered the grated cheese and a container of extra sauce. Many guests commented on how good the food was and there was plenty of it. If you are hosting a gathering - large or small - you cannot go wrong ordering from Villarina's. read more

Terrible! I ordered an Italian Combo with NO CHEESE and NO ROASTED PEPPERS...They took an already made sandwich off of the counter, took off the cheese and peppers and gave me the sandwich! Worst part is they put the cheese that they removed from my sandwich BACK IN THE COOLER! For this I paid $9.50!! My sandwich tasted like roasted peppers! Additionally, the counter person was unfriendly. BEWARE if you have food allergies! This place is a hotbed of CROSS CONTAMINATION!!! Go to Subway, it's right next door and they'll actually make you a FRESH sandwich! I will NEVER patronize Villarina's again and I suggest you stay away too! read more
