The menu highlights sharing is caring with a la carte options or a full table participation tasting menu adventure. We decided to do our own selection, sharing every dish along the way. Every plate was outstanding from fresh oysters with a refreshing mignonette to the best pasta I have had in Marin. The pasta was textbook - light, perfect chew and pinched to perfection. The earthiness of the mushrooms countered with the sweetness from the fruit was absolutely divine. The snap pea salad was splendid, the tartness of the yogurt dressing with the freshness of the snap pea was a match made in heaven. The chicken schnitzel with lemon, herb salad and the perfect crunch was a fun modern take on the classic. So happy this establishment has renewed itself and has hit every ball out of the park. I honestly think the tasting menu here remains the best meal I have had in Marin in my life. After 8 years in SF I've come back to Marin and there are lots of great places to eat but rarely do I find the consistency of quality and creativity that I found in the city. Vin is very very good. Pricing feels pretty reasonable, especially for a tasting menu. I recommend the lamb wonton and celery salad. Service was solid and the space is gorgeous. read more

This was my first time visiting this restaurant since the revamp/renaming. Even though it's a pretty small space, they do a great job of utilizing it well. It did seem like it was getting super busy by the time that we left! This was a perfect place to come for a date night or a girls dinner. Definitely not the vibe I would recommend for families. I really enjoyed the cocktails and the focaccia bread from Oliver's upstairs was delicious. We also had the Crudo and that celery salad. Everything was great can't wait to come back again. read more

Had dinner at Vin in San Rafael last night. Used to be called Vin Antica, but they rebranded and have an all-new menu. I highly recommend it. My husband and I wanted to try something new and were able to get a seat at the bar overlooking the chef station. So glad we did! Initially, I was not that interested in the posted menu, but boy was I wrong. The food was superb and the service the same. We ordered the campachi crudo (fresh, citrousy, and delicious), the Caesar salad (good), and the chicken schnitzel (would never have ordered it but I saw it made and it was super good!). Chef Dan also surprised us with tastings of the snap peas with whipped feta (OMG!!!! you must try), a special oyster appetizer, and an off-menu item still in R&D of lamb dumplings. We both want to go back and have the snap peas and crudo again. And also try the pastas that looked amazing. Seriously, give them a try. read more

Jon Kurland and his team were super quick and helpful in reserving the restaurant and creating a menu list when I inquired about their availability for a holiday party for a group of 40. Unfortunately, some people in my group made the decision to go elsewhere. I hope to have an event here sometime. I plan to visit Vin for dinner soon. What a treat to say the VERY LEAST! We went on an impromptu "date" last week to check out the old Vin Antico now Vin . ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! The host was full of energy, professionalism and ended up being our server at the chefs table. She was on POINTE for everything. Drinks, menu questions, warm welcoming smile and calm and collected despite the extremely busy place for a Thursday eve in San Rafael. The kitchen staff exuded the same calm, professional manner executing dishes as a cohesive unit . The food was delicious ! We enjoyed the snap peas with goat cheese, the cod and the pasta.. and a bonus of a couple oyster starters. They nailed each dish and the host/ server glided around the room warmly welcoming and checking on everyone. So happy we are just a skip away from this absolute gem of a place. I love this place and it's definitely a hidden gem. My friend took me here for dinner and it was a lovely experience. A woman (Taylor) kindly greeted us. I'm not sure if she was the manager or hostess. She certainly was running around all night so she must have been the manager as she was very attentive. My water was constantly being refilled and it was so great. Superb food and so fun to share, tapas style. It opens at 5 PM so we were there upon opening. When we left it was packed which says a lot about a restaurant. We learned the chef's name was Daniel and honestly, every bite blew us away. I'll definitely be going back even though I live in SF. Truly impressed with the quality and creativity of the food and love the newly revamped restaurant, terrific service, delicious and innovative food. I would love to see this place succeed. However, that being said, I'm giving a 4 star review because we were in the middle of our meal, at barely 8:30 pm, and the staff began putting chairs up on empty tables around us. You just cannot flip chairs while customers are still dining: it's an unwritten industry rule. I hope when we return, because we would very much like to, we won't feel so extremely rushed and would feel more welcomed. I absolutely loved this place. I travel all over eat at all kinds of places. After my first course here I immediately went to check if they had a star or at least a mention. They just went through a rebrand which makes sense but the fact that the poor rating is just people struggling to adjust to change is telling. The execution is lovely. It can be hard to find good food in Marin, but VIN is doing it! Fantastic flavor combos, all cooked perfectly. We sat at the kitchen-facing bar since we wandered in on a very busy Saturday night, so we got a chance to see how the kitchen flows. Pretty smooth... these guys know what they're doing. Our server was super delightful and attentive. They had run out of the glass of wine I chose so they offered a replacement which was fantastic and unexpectedly not included on the bill. Classy touch! Nice new addition to Marin's food scene. I went on a Tuesday night with a friend. We had multiple, shareable dishes, all well-prepared. Some fantastic creativity with the flavors. Everything tasted really fresh. My friend and I each started with pre-dinner cocktails, followed with wines with the meal, and we sampled each other's beverages. Delish.
