Bungalow 44 continues to create tasty and creative drinks and dishes no matter what the season. Drinks - King Thai'd just right, spicy and not too sweet, lovely to start with a meal but also could double as dessert. My partners margarita was good as well. Enjoyed a glass of of the Walter Hansel Chardonnay which is more of a locals kind of wine and nice to see on the list. Food - we both have enjoyed the steak frites in the past and my partner did so as well last night, subbed out the arugula salad for Caesar and it was just right. My salmon with market succotash and corn puree was a lovely combination of what spring here has to offer. The pickled maitake mushrooms added the perfect amount of acid and umami to offset the richness and keep flavors fresh. Desserts - the sticky pudding and berries never disappoint. Ambiance - please do not ever change (much), we love dining here whether it's a casual meetup with friends or a special date night. The high top bar tables could use a sanding and re sealing but you can tell they are well loved by diners :) Service - Monday night, a few delays and missteps surprising as restaurant was not bustling. But the food is so good.

Had an amazing meal here. It was a busy evening but I managed to get a seat at the bar and service was still attentive. I ordered the hamachi poppers, filet, and a dessert. Everything was perfect- great flavors and cooked just right.

Over the years, Bungalow 44 has become my favorite place in Mill Valley for a celebration meal -- which is funny, because when I first moved back to the area, it wasn't. Coming back to the Bay Area after living for years in a foodie town with innovative chefs like Renee Erickson and Rachel Yang and their stellar restaurants, Marin felt much quieter and smaller, and the food scene, too traditional. But consistency is an asset here, and Bungalow 44 delivers time after time. It ultimately won me over. It's now our go-to celebration spot. It's consistently good: good food, atmosphere, buzzy and celebratory on weekends, and has friendly, professional, timely service. We like coming occasionally during the week for oyster happy hour and we always reserve ahead to sit inside in the main room. Last night's meal: ahi starter, braised short rib, pork chop with wild mushrooms, good wines, and sticky pudding and a glass of tawny port were all spot on. Always delivers.

First off, the service here was amazing! The staff was incredibly attentive and did a phenomenal job throughout our visit. I have celiac disease, and they were very knowledgeable about the gluten-free options. They even have a dedicated gluten free fryer for the fries, which made me feel so comfortable eating here. The vibe felt upscale yet still casual. It was raining, so we sat inside, but they also have cozy outdoor seating with fire pits that would be perfect for drinks with friends. Food-wise, the truffle fries (gluten free!) were fantastic and we loved the Cali-groni cocktail. The only downside was that the short ribs were a bit tough which is why I'm giving four stars instead of five.

Cauliflower dish was enjoyed by all! Special praise for using the Romanesco!

Recently visited Bungalow 44 on a Thursday night. We got there in time to enjoy some of their happy hour oysters (Miyagi). We ordered a tray since there were a few of us. They were mostly good - but mediocre shucking. I'd rather pay more and have them served clean. We had a few cocktails while were there, and I found most of them pretty underwhelming. We shared them for tasting purposes, and I don't think any of us were overwhelmed. Not particularly creative (for the price) nor well executed. I will give a shout out for Irish Coffee though - that was among the best I have ever had - so keep that in mind. It is on the desert menu. Food was good. We tried a range of dishes, family style, so we could try a wider range of plates. We had cauliflower, hummus, fried chicken, and a few other dishes. Fortunately the food was better than the cocktails! Everyone enjoyed the food, but I think the fried chicken was the winner winner! Overall a pretty good experience! Sorry, only managed to get one photo - was too busy with the socializing!

When I seen they had $1 oysters for happy hour I had to make it a point to stop by while I was staying in Mill Valley! Also my favorite number is 44, deal was sealed! I sat at the bar and was immediately help by the bartender. I put my order for 6 oysters in while I checked out the menu. I had dinner planned elsewhere, I wanted to kill some time and hang out until then. Socializing at this bar with strangers was easy, everyone was so friendly and wanted to talk one another, I appreciate that! I met Barbra who said she goes every day and I witnessed dates, friends catching up, and men watching the game. It was a fun environment! They oysters were good. Mine didn't come with mignonette sauce, I had to ask the bartender for it. Unsure if that's normal or not. I also got a lesson in Oregon wine from the bartender so that was interesting. I left to dinner elated from meeting new friends, just like it should be!

B44 is the place to go in Mill Valley on a Monday for a quick happy hour because it's open and you can usually grab a seat at the bar, inside in a booth, or outside on their redone patio with heat lamps. There is a great bar inside with helpful tenders. There is an open kitchen so you can watch the chefs do their thing. The menu pretty much stays the same and has seasonal specials like a summer green gazpacho. Everything is tasty and while not original it's just fine. The hamachi poppers are like a twist on sushi. The Brussels are yummy. They definitely stepped up their service and expectations during quarantine and sold such awesome take out buckets, to go drink kits, and more. They don't really have much of a happy hour other than oysters for a buck, but still that's not nothing. On this visit, we had the kicken chicken, oysters, and salad.

We had a reservation for 7:30, arrived and were seated immediately at the counter as we had requested. It's been at least 3 years since we have dined here. We both ordered a cocktail and we were asked if we wanted still or sparkling water. I asked for sparkling water...I didn't ask, nor was it offered that we would be paying for a large bottle so that was slightly annoying. Plenty of restaurants offer in house sparkling water. We ordered the corn ribs. So incredibly delicious. Seriously. The quail was a VERY small portion. While I realize they are not chicken sized by any rate-we estimated there were probably 6-7 bites. Flavor was good. The salmon was also flavorful with a nice peppery arugula salad plus the starch. We shared the sticky toffee cake which was yummy. 3 cocktails, 2 dessert wines and it came to $220.00. Expected in Marin. Yes it was good, service was kind and prompt. I just have a hard time paying that much for a meal these days.

What would you order for a first timer, and where would you sit if you can't hear very well?

Eating on patio is super lovely on a nice day, counter ordering was fast, and staff friendly. Got both flavors of chowder ($12/bowl) and would recommend the white especially for the nuanced taste- herby, creamy? Couldn't place what was different but wasn't your average chowder! For the cod ($24), fish was very tender and came with a hearty helping of potato wedges.

We were hungry and in a rush to get to our boat rental and didn't even notice the specials. We got the red chowder, white chowder, soft shell bao tacos, fish tacos, pasta con vongole, and Louie salad for a group of 5. We took everything to go and had it on the boat. Everything was great especially the white chowder, fish tacos, and soft shell crab bao tacos, except the pasta con vongole was too salty. After looking at the pictures we decided we have to come back on Saturday. On Saturday the wait was 50 minutes, and the line went all the way around the fence. So many of the specials including the whole fish, which we went back for, got taken off of the list while we were waiting...tragic. If you're going on the weekend beware!! We ate in at the restaurant this time as we didn't have a reservation to get to. The outside was pretty hot and there's some seating inside and also in an adjacent room that nobody seemed to notice. We were still able to get 2 specials: rockfish ceviche and dumplings. The dumplings were so good - their homemade chili sauce is sweet and a mild spicy that builds. Rockfish was a bit lime-y, but a delicacy nonetheless. I would definitely come back on a weekday to enjoy the specials again!

The location is awsome, right on the water in Tiburon, and the vibe is cozy without feeling cramped. Seating is a little tight, but honestly it kinda adds to the charm. There's one huge unisex bathroom tucked right behind the bar, which was surprisingly clean and easy to find. The back patio is probly the highlight. On a clear day you get amazing views of Angel Island and SF, hard to beat while having lunch or a drink. Food was solid. Kitchen does a decent job, although they seem to miss order details every now and then. I ordered a medium rare burger and it came out well done. Before I even had a chance to make a big deal about it, our server noticed and brought a replacement burger out pretty quick. That was super thoughtful and showed they actually care about the customer experiance. Not perfect, but good food, great views, and staff that are willing to make things right. I'd definitly come back.

The restaurant is in a nondescript pocket sized strip mall. I had my doubts, but felt we were transported somewhere else as soon as we stepped through the door. We were welcomed and seated immediately. The menu is extensive, mostly sushi and sashimi dishes. We ordered exactly the right amount for the two of us, including a special appetizer of a shrimp custard (yum), tempura shrimp (two shrimp, crispy, dipping bowl with a side of spicy daikon we could add). I ordered the Hakata Mizutaki hot pot with chicken and cabbage. My wife went for the Queen sushi roll with unagi, hamachi and sweet sauce and a small 2-piece sashimi plate. For dessert we ordered another special, a sweet potato custard that came with a generous scoop of the creamiest vanilla ice cream I've ever had. The presentation for the dessert was so special... it came in a lidded lacquer box (see photos). After recently eating in a terribly noisy restaurant, we appreciated that the sound level here was very low, making conversation easy. Our server was gracious and attentive (filling our pot of tea with hot water, and then pouring the tea for us). All of the food was fantastic. The total with tax and tip came out to $135 for two people. That's probably on par for the quality of the food, but steep for us, so this will become more of a "special treat" dinner place for us. But we do want to return to sample more dishes.
