Sadly, my experience this time left room for improvement. The salad was certainly yummy and I loved that. However, I had trouble ordering on the app. It wouldn't allow me to select that I wanted bread and it showed that it would be ready in one hour after the order was placed. I tried to call to have it resolved and they didn't answer the phone. When I showed up, I waited in line to get help and was sent down to the cashier at the end. I stopped in on my way home from work yesterday to grab a salad. I was chasing vegetables and they were more then happy to oblige me by letting me know that I could do a custom bowl. My salad was pretty basic just greens peppers and tomatoes with no dressing on the side . I paid a little over 7.00 for it . I got it home and used my own low calorie dressing and added some protein to it . I think the girl that took my order thought I was crazy when I adamantly declined dressing lol. All the veggies were fresh and tasty as well. She was very friendly and the guy working with her was friendly as well. I love the aesthetics of this store it has a very rustic but cool feeling to it . It's clean and well lit . They've got a unique selection of lemonades to choose from . I came in based on the great reviews. Once again, Yelp led me to a winner. Faith was the young lady that was behind the counter. She greeted me warmly as I entered. It was quiet when I came in but there was a steady stream of customers. Faith was super friendly and helpful. She answered questions and gave me great guidance. When I asked about the soup she allowed me to taste it. I had read about the lemonade and she also allowed me to taste that. I ended up ordering the 1/2 salad and soup. I got the tomato soup. It was delicious. Thick and creamy. Comfort food for sure. Because of Faith's recommendation I tried the bluegrass blackberry salad. It too was delicious. The dressing wasn't heavy but was full of flavor. The salad was nice and fresh. There were four different lemonades. There was a regular lemonade, strawberry, blueberry vanilla and peach nectar. I tried the first three and the blueberry vanilla was my favorite. It was full of flavor but not too sweet. I felt like a light drink. Additionally, they added cucumbers and carrots even though I did not add them to the custom "make your own salad" order. They also didn't include the sautéed ginger vegetables even though I paid extra for them. They decided to give me the big (instead of small) salad and give me one less soup even though I paid extra for it. The first time I went here was a week ago and now it's my new favorite lunch place. I saw my friend ordering a "Half and half" - I didn't know what that meant at that time. But it looked interesting, so I did the same.I ordered two half-salads. But it turned out what it meant was "A half salad and a soup". The people working there were nice and gave me a full salad on my first day even though I was the one who messed up the order and wasn't clear on my instructions. I have tried almost all of the soups here and "Sausage Kale Potato" soup is my favorite and it is also the most healthiest of them all. Of the salads, BLT and Taco are my personal favorites. All salads are good and no complaints there. There are ample spaces to sit and eat inside. You would have trouble finding parking though since it's in the heart of downtown These days I just order using their app and go pick it up right away without standing in line. First they didn't tell me that they were out of avocado- it wasn't until I ordered a second bowl and a different girl made the other bowl and said something. Really wanted a good salad for dinner and I keep hearing about this place so I decided to give it a try. I placed an order through the app for pick-up. I was heading home for the evening so I thought it would be easy to grab it and go. When I arrived and gave my name at the counter, the young lady working gave me a puzzled look. My order was placed far enough out that it should have been ready when I got there. The young lady checks her computer once and it's blank. She goes to the back, returns and checks it again. This time I see my name come up. She says oh we accepted your order, but for some reason it was not prepared. Ok...so someone comes out to start working on my order, and I wait. Once my salad is made, the young lady bags it and comes from behind the counter to bring it to me. She did offer me an apology and drink on the house. I appreciate her offering something. It was not her fault at all. I was disappointed with the experience as a first time customer. I had the Bluegrass Blackberry salad and it was very good. The blackberry vinaigrette was wonderful! I've never had a blackberry dressing before. It's very unique and brings out the flavors of the salad. The salad came with one container of dressing, but I really wished I had more once I started eating. The lettuce soaked it right up and my salad was pretty dry about halfway through. This is one of my favorite spots in Lexington to eat. I always feel good when I leave here and satisfied. They have a lot of salad options that are different and tasty. Do you have a New Year resolution to eat healthier? Run to Vinaigrette! This is one of two Vinaigrette locations. This location is in the heart of downtown Lexington, in The Square... formerly known as Victorian Square. Parking is available at the garage on located on Short Street. You park and then walk across the pedway and then down the steps. Or you can find curbside/metered parking surrounding The Square... those spots are scarce, especially when there's a downtown event going on at Rupp Arena or The Opera House. Or if parking is an issues, then just check out the other Vinaigrette location, that's just a few miles away. At first, I thought that they were going to be the Subway of salads, but actually they have several pre set salad concoctions that are the ideas of the great local Chef Ouita Michel. If you don't know who Chef Michel is, we've probably heard of at least one of her restaurants that include Smith Town Seafood, Holly Hill, Windy Corner and Wallace Station. My favorite salad is the BLT deluxe. It's not as big as the other salad options, but it's filling enough for me. Yes, Vinaigrette is known for their salads, but they also have soups and homemade lemonades. The flavors of both the soup and lemonade are rotated based on the season. If you're looking for a great, healthy, local place to find a great salad, check out one of the locally owned Vinaigerette locations... thank me later. The only bad things are that the portions are a lot smaller on their to-go options. Also, you can ask for your salad to be tossed in dressing of request the dressing on the side. When they toss it with it, they use a lot more than I would use normally, so next time I'll ask for it on the side. The first time that I tried Vinaigrette, I knew it was Yelp event worthy. Not only are the salads and soups and lemonade AWESOME, but their customer service is on point. I ate here once and really liked the food so, when I needed some catering for an event, I contacted them about their options. For about $10/person, we got great salads, individual soups, and bread for everyone. Portion sizes are really good on both individual meals and on catering. What really blew me away was Susannah's dedication to her customers. Today, the day of the Snowpocalypse, we had an event that we couldn't cancel. Though the stores were closed, Susannah promised that, if we could make it in, she would deliver our food. She prepared all of our food herself and drove it over to the site, even arriving early despite the awful weather conditions. Everyone at the event loved the food and was completely floored when I told them about Susannah's commitment. We will definitely be ordering again (and I'll be stopping in on my own)! read more

The new location rocks! After trying out the original Lexington location twice, I went to the new downtown Lexington location today. It is just as clean and beautiful as the first location. The food and friendly service was excellent. I chose a hybrid salad that was dairy-free and gluten-free: the Tuscan and the Harvest Kale Salad with Honey Balsamic Vinaigrette. Couldn't pass up the Cucumber Lemonade--it was divine. Went back for a refill and spotted the Limeade. Chose to mix the Cucumber Lemonade and Limeade--absolutely refreshing perfection. And I LOVE premium salad ingredients -- roasted sweet potato? artichoke hearts? roasted red peppers? Kalamata olives? Anyone? Yes, please! All of it. It's been a year since I have been to Vinaigrette, but I still think about how tasty their salads are! Sad news is that I can't go back because of one bad experience. I FOUND A HAIR IN MY SALAD. On a beautiful sunny day I walked down from where I work to grab a salad like I did everyday. It was the BLT salad, I walked back to work, opened my salad, toss the dressing in and then immediately pulled a long blonde hair out that was tangled up in the leaves of lettuce (I have black hair). I immediately called Vinaigrette.... they offered me another salad but it was too late, I didn't want another salad... they didn't offer a refund, so I didn't get anything back from them. But I MISS MY SALADS! I wish they were made to wear hair nets when handling food, even the front line!!!!
