The BEST pho I have ever I. I travel often and try pho and good, highly rated pho all over and always go back to Vinson as the best. Why is it the best? Well the 24hr stew of the broth is probably a factor as well as using a high quality beef and adding the fresh noodles. I always get the steak pho with fresh house made noodles and it makes such a difference. If you eat at the restaurant add an egg (to go orders shouldn't as the egg becomes rubbery). I haven't actually been here physically, just had food picked up for and have ordered for delivery. Everything I've tried has been very flavorful. The pho broth is so rich and flavorful, even before adding any seasoning. I had ordered a vermicelli bowl with no vermicelli or the fish sauce, and substituted the broccoli and carrots for the noodles (additional $2) because I was on keto. I don't go to Sammamish often, but saw some great banh mi options here via Yelp (thanks to Courtney), so I had to go out of my way here. It was a spur of the moment decision to visit for takeout here, but realized later there is online ordering available too. The lemongrass pork banh mi flavor was excellent and on point. I opted for the $9 large size, knowing it was above average price-wise, but unfortunately the size just felt like it was standard (hoping I didn't receive that by mistake). The size just seemed on par with other banh mi places, therefore I couldn't imagine the small $6 banh mi to be satiating. For takeout, the baguette does get warmed and steamed/mushy a bit from the meats, so I'd wish it was slightly toasted to offset that a bit. The lemongrass pork vermicelli bowl came as expected. Only gripe may be that I'd hope for a stronger fish sauce flavor that accompanied it, as it tasted sweet and watered down. Despite COVID and takeout season, everything internally looks clean and would seem like a nice sit down for a quick meal on any normal day. Vinason is an excellent addition to the Sammamish food scene. Other than serving up delicious eats, the employees are friendly and the restaurant inside always appears spotless. It's a positive experience each time I visit. Their straightforward menu offers pho, banh mi sandwiches, vermicelli bowls, fried rice and more. While I've heard great reviews of their pho broth, we continue returning for their Lemongrass Pork Banh Mi. The crew assembles our order within just a few minutes and packs it up nicely for us to go. I'm always pleased to find my sandwich perfectly intact once I unwrap it at home. At just $6 for a regular size, it's a pretty good deal and always fills me up. Between the chewy baguette, a layer of chopped pork comes topped with fresh pickled carrot, cucumber. jalapeno and cilantro. I typically don't detect any lemongrass flavor and the pork is on the sweeter side, but it makes for a delicious sandwich. The slight tartness of the pickled carrot and zip from the cilantro balance out the flavors while the cucumber adds a satisfying crunch. Their menu states that the banh mis include garlic aioli, but I have yet to taste it at all. It's unfortunate since it could raise the sandwich to a whole new level. One time, we ordered the Chicken Curry Fried Rice, which is comforting during the cold months. The curry sauce included large pieces of taro and super tender chicken that fell apart at just the touch of a fork. The sauce had a mild coconut milk flavor and the perfect amount of heat. Really tasty! Finally, I recommend their passionfruit green tea with boba. They combine the tea with real jam, so it has a full-bodied fruit flavor rather than an artificial taste. Their boba isn't sweetened either, so it pairs well with the already sweet tea. We've also tried their milk tea and Vietnamese Coffee, both of which were just okay. In the future, it would be nice if they offered an additional protein option (like beef) for their banh mi and vermicelli bowls, but that's just my two cents. They only have pork and chicken with the other options being vegetarian. Next time I visit, I look forward to trying their pho! read more

Such high marks I had to check them out. Negative mark for me. If you like the more adventurous meat options or are a seasoned Pho eater. I think you'll be disappointed. Menu soup options are not like most Pho restaurants where you can fine tune meat options such as flank, steak, fatty flank, tripe, and tendon. You have a few beef or chicken options. I actually came to try the Banh Mi because it seems the Eastside has limited options. Here the sandwich was very good. Again, not in the traditional sense as no pate. In generic terms, this place seems to be designed more towards the less adventurous palate. The Banh Mi is also priced pretty high in my opinion. $11 starting with increased costs for adding some options. Banh Mi is supposed to be a pretty inexpensive food option. International district Banh Mi is usually around $6. The sandwich was good, but the bread was a little hard. A perfect sandwich the outer crust should have a nice crunch and the inner bread should be soft. We got a combo pho with tofu and shrimp as well as a 16oz pho broth with steak and added veggies. The broth is good, the portion is generous as well. However, the protein quantity didn't match the amount of noodles and vegetables that they gave. For $14 a bowl, I expected a little more. I went to square lotus the other day and got the combo there, same $16 price. They threw in egg rolls and it was a lot heartier in terms of the portion. We're avid pho eaters, probably been to most pho places around the area. We gave Vinason Pho & Grill a 2nd try today because our first experience there two weeks ago wasn't the best because we left feeling very thirsty from eating their pho soup. Today, we ordered two pho combos. Okay let's start with the jalapeños. It spicier than most pho places which is good. 2nd the meat was fatty didn't expect fatty meat. Lastly let's go over the pho soup base which is the most important element that makes up pho. The soup didn't have a rich meat broth flavor, the saltiness overpowered each bite. We tried to balance it out with hoisin sauce but it seemed to bring out more saltiness. Would I recommend anyone to eat pho here? Probably not because you will be leaving thirsty and feeling bloated. I give props to their passion fruit boba tea which is delicious if you wanna go here for boba tea. Not much selection though as it's very limited. read more

Wow, I just love their pork bahn mi sandwich! So tasty, and ingredients are well seasoned and fresh. I attended their soft opening tonight, and very glad I did. My new go to Vietnamese restaurant. Didn't have a pho noodle and beef soup, but the owners allowed me to taste a small bowl of their pho broth and it was delicious. I've been coming to this place a couple times a month since moving to Sammamish in 2019. We've enjoyed the pho and bahn mi. I've tried the vermicelli bowl and a couple other things on the menu but found the pho and bahn mi our go-to dishes. Unfortunately, we haven't been there as regularly during the pandemic, but we did pick up food when we had a craving for Vietnamese food. We just went there last week(09/22), and they changed quite a few things (good and bad). When you enter, there's a kiosk station to order your food. It worked well so I think that's a positive move on their part to improve efficiency. The pictures looked great with heaping portions... in the picture. Secondly, their prices went up a couple dollars. I understand that prices will need to go up as our economy is struggling--so I get that. Third, which we found disappointing was they took their portion size down by a lot. My son and I ordered the beef brisket pho. He normally has to take half home because it's plenty. This time he finished everything and was still hungry. Sure, he's a growing boy, but I experienced the same thing. I only had about four thin pieces of brisket and about half the noodles. I was also hungry after I was done. I wish I took pictures but I didn't think about it at the time. Lastly, the staff are these young gents. They definitely enjoy each other's company(not a bad thing as it's fun to work with friends/family), but the service and restaurant condition was subpar. There's a dirty wet towel sitting on the counter for you to wipe down your own table (there's a sign that says that they're understaffed so they can't wipe tables down). Sure, you need to adjust, but when all three guys are joking around and there are no customers to help, they should clean the place up. The bathroom was dirty and the place could've used a simple tidying up. I've worked in fast food and still work in a service oriented business. It doesn't take much to make a place feel more inviting with a little more attention to detail and customer service. Sorry for the long review, but I hope this can be helpful for the owners as I think their food is alright as our Asian food choices in Sammamish are sparse. read more

I'm loving the new food options in Sammamish!! I'm giving them 3 stars for now because they've not even officially opened and they're doing pretty well so far. We had the steak pho, large shrimp spring rolls, shrimp vermicelli bowl, and two chicken fried rice bowls. I'll say the best thing of all of them was the steak pho. The pho has a nice flavor that's familiar and what you'd expect. My son was happy with his beef and the broth wasn't too salty for me. I wasn't as pleased with the flavor of the vermicelli bowl, as there was too much red pepper, not as much fish sauce (or any?), and there's a flavor of bbq I can't place that I also tasted in the rolls that was too strong (it was a shrimp bowl)...maybe a different basil? I will say the shrimp was flavorful, though not in the spring rolls. They forgot my peanuts but remedied the situation when I went back. The spring rolls need more flavor all around. They're bland and the shrimp is watered down. Also, the peanut sauce was way too thin. My honey said ..."the fried rice was sub par, frozen peas and carrots and fried rice didn't have much flavor going for it. The chicken was the best part of it." My daughter wasn't happy with her "plague of peas" but I imagine she could have requested no peas. We will give them another shot when some time has passed (and boba is on the menu) and granted them a star or two for being so new. I got the Pork Banh Mi and a side of broth. The Sandwich was absolutely spectacular and honestly one of the nicest Banh Mi I've had on the eastside. It was extremely flavorful and generous amount of meat, beautifully seasoned and pickled veggies, an abundance of delicious sauces and fresh perfectly crisp and chewy bread. I honestly couldn't fault the sandwich if I tried. I also got a side of broth which was kind of okay and probably not worth the 3 bucks for the tiny bowl; I'd skip it and just get more sandwiches next time coz they were legit good. My wife got some fresh rolls which were very fresh and flavorful too and again really huge portions.
