The location is a super cute boutique-like and much larger than Kirkland's Totem Lake location, with lots of seating. They have a great deal going on for $7, you can have a glass of either Brut or Rose, and your choice of macaron. With the rate of inflation, I say they are making an effort to keep the cost down. I must admit I have seen even higher lately. Yikes... I haven't been going as regularly as I have in the past because of cost. On June 4th, while at Bel Sq, I decided to stop in. A surprise awaited me. For the first time ever, they offered a discount! A purchase of any box filled with only "May exclusives" receives 30% off, while supplies last. Their smallest box is a 6 count. A box of 6 that is normally $18 sold for $12.60 with this discount. Every month 5 temporary flavors are offered as the month's exclusives. Since I love trying new flavors, this discount is a great for a snacker like me. The staff member said it was the first time she has ever seen this discount. Me, too! I don't know if this deal will continue in the future, but I sure hope so. We were looking for a light happy hour option before our 5pm dinner reservation, and stumbled upon the perfect $5 deal at Lady Yum--one macaron and a glass of bubbly! You can choose between brut or rosé, and of course, we had to try both. It was such a lovely start to a rainy afternoon. The macarons here are always spot-on. I went with the honey lavender, and the filling had a subtle saltiness that balanced the sweetness so well. I was torn between that and the salted caramel, but I think I made the right call! The staff was super friendly, checking in to make sure we liked our picks and that we had a nice space to enjoy our drinks--not just tucked in a corner somewhere. I normally visit the Kirkland location or the airport location. But the Belle square location is so adorable!! Although it's a 30 min drive from where I live it's much closer than the other locations. Airport is closer but I'm not in that terminal that much. I've tried macarons all over the states that have them, Canada, and Paris. Lady Yum is still top notch in my book. Not everyone likes the sweet little cookie with the filling in the middle, but I'm obsessed. I'm allergic to coconut so I can't eat macaroons. But these macarons are made with almond flour. Two totally different cookies, yet people call macarons...macaroons..ugh! I've been supporting megan aka Lady Yum when she still making and selling them from a warehouse in Kirkland, then she had a kickstarter to open up her first store. I hope she opens one more south Covington/Kent area soon. Fingers crossed. But if you haven't visited the Bellevue location yet, it's a must! Lady Yum is a luxury macaron shop located in Bellevue Square Mall. They sell macarons of all flavors and colors, including 16 all-time flavors, 3 seasonal flavors, and 2 rotating monthly flavors (at least according to their flyer). It's like going to an ice cream store. While I've never stepped into Lady Yum, I've passed by it multiple times while walking through the mall. A couple of my friends decided to gift me Lady Yum macaron variety boxes as a birthday gift this past month. As someone who bakes and has also been to the original macaron store, Laduree, in France, I can honestly say that while they are pretty, they are super sweet even by American standards- especially the outer cookie (the fillings were surprisingly less sweet). And they're not cheap either as they go for at least $3 a cookie. Out of the flavors I tried, the REESES PEANUT BUTTER CUP and the COCONUT macarons were the best as they had the strongest flavor and were the least sweet. The ESPRESSO FUDGE came in third as it had a rich chocolate inside, but lacked strong coffee flavor. And the monthly BLACK MAGIC (activated charcoal with a coconut and cornflake filling) was intriguing, but wasn't as good as the coconut flavor as it had a strong licorice flavor to it. The VANILLA, SMORES, and seasonal PEAR FRANGIPANE were extremely sweet and would not recommend. Overall, Lady Yum is a cute and colorful store- I can see why people would want to use them for catering and gifts. However, at their current price, I would rather go for Frans chocolate caramels just down the street, which are pricey, but much more within my sugar limits. Overall: 3/5 for macarons read more

Gluten-free dessert heaven. These are made from almond flour, so gluten-free folks can have almost every single one they offer. Still be sure to ask since there are a few exceptions where they have a flavor with a certain cookie and it, for example I do not know how they make the flavors so true to the actual flavor they say they are. It's incredible. I absolutely love the texture of the cookie and the filling. While they are a little expensive, they are definitely a nice treat to have now and then. The shop is always nice and clean and has fun little items you can buy like candles and syrups, etc. so be sure to take a look at those Every time I go, staff is very friendly. These make a great gift since it's something that people don't always treat themselves to and if they do, they often go with flavors that are a little bit more safe or known to them. So it's fun to get them a big selection of different things that maybe they wouldn't typically try. While vanilla is a very plain flavor, I would definitely recommend you try it at least once because the texture of the cookie and the filling is definitely different than all of the others. it's super soft and creamy. First time at this mall and came across Lady Yum, it looked unique so we came in and decided to give them a try. We were immediately greeted by the owner I believe. She was friendly and attentive and informed us they do catering as well as have upcoming paint and sip events. The store is unique with its decor and merchandise selection. It tasted exactly like a watermelon. There is ample seating, and the service is OK. I'm not expecting to be wowed when picking up macarons. Just like many places, there's an automatic tipping option. It was supposed to be 3 for each of us, but they were so loved by everyone, I only ended up getting 1! The first one I went for was the Toasted Coconut. I'm not usually a fan of coconut desserts but this one was just beautiful! That toastedness was on point and there was a subtle flavor of the coconut and everything went so well. It also looked really pretty too with the blue mac shells and white filling! A tasted a bit of a salted caramel from my boyfriend's share but I wasn't too big of an he loved it too because he loves salted caramel desserts. Her reaction was so rude we decided to leave and not buy anything. It soured our experience completely - terrible customer service. Will not recommend based on this alone. Treat customers right, tell the story, sell your experience. We asked genuine questions out of curiosity and felt punished and yelled at through her answers. Cashiers at Walmart treat you better. Everytime my friends have a craving for macarons, I always take them to Lady Yum. Lady Yum has some interesting flavors. Most of the flavors have been the same throughout the year but occasionally they will add one or two new seasonal flavors. My favorite to grab is the smores. The mixture of a creamy sweet chocolate and marshmallow middle mixes effectively with a good vanilla crunch. Service has always been quick and friendly. No matter the time i visit, there never seems to be a long line and is only about a max of 2 other small groups of people. They have some very interesting flavors - we took home lemon, honey lavender, and strawberry macarons (one for each of us because $$$). So for those whose eyebrows shot up at the $2.50 each tag, the price is totally justified. That said, these are not the best macarons I've ever had. You cannot go wrong with the Shindig (fruity pebbles), Raspberry Chardonnay, Espresso Fudge or Salted Caramel. Even their basic Strawberry tastes like Pocky. Their rotating monthly and seasonal flavors are always intriguing as well. It's been a while since I've visited, but I'm disappointed macaron costs have increased from $2.00 to $2.50 each (but hey I'm sure the overhead isn't cheap for their fancy Bellevue location). It's a bit rough for a small treat...I'm basically nibbling on each macaron to savor them slowly. Still no discount exists for even for larger pack orders. YUM! So happy that Lady Yum opened a location in Bellevue, making it all the more easy to get my hands on these French cookies. Located in Bell Square on the lower level of the mall, you won't walk pass the cute window display before stopping in. Macarons are what to get, but you may end up leaving with more, like a cute card for a gal pal or loose leaf tea with flavors of red velvet or mint chocolate. I also loved that they had small gift items and support local businesses, like Malicious Women Candle Company from Snohomish! So bomb. Speaking of gifts for others, they also sell bottles of bubbles and themed pre-packaged macarons. There are a lot of flavors to choose from, including their monthly specials worth trying. Some of my favorites include s'mores, mint chocolate and toasted coconut. In my most recent visit, I tried their monthly flavors: red hot chocolate, raspberry lychee rose, chocolate stuffed strawberry and Hawaiian pound cake. All of them were awesome! And they all had a soft shell, with a slight dense center and flavorful filling, as macarons should be. Perfection. Lady Yum has the best macarons in the Seattle area, so this is a must visit whenever you're in Bell Square or in Bellevue. My only regret was not getting dozens on dozens.
