If you're looking for a fancy, elegant, expensive, and quiet meal, this is a good place. If you're looking to experience the culture by going through the city and drifting into the best smelling restaurants, I don't know if this one fits in. The food itself was nice, not spectacular, but very rich. It was not my favorite stop, but our tour guide said it was a nice and authentic place to eat, so I am choosing to come to the conclusion that my palate is simply not good enough for this restaurant. Came here with two friends, our server was Giacomo and he was amazing! My friends ordered the filet mignon medium rare, I had the North Sea Sole fish filet. Unbelievable meal! The cheese croquette was amazing. The shrimp a little fishy. The chateaubriand was cooked perfectly but a little tough. The sauce was amazing. We sat in the overflow room which I don't recommend. They split both orders for us so I felt like that's what you're supposed to do, share the food. You'll probably need a reservation. This restaurant is near the famous restaurant alley near the heart of Brussels. Since there were many restaurants in the area, many of which looked like tourist traps, I decided to rely on Yelp to make a wise choice. My family settled on this restaurant but since it was 18:15, they were not open for another half an hour. No problem, we were tired after a long day sightseeing so we waited. In an area fighting for food business, three workers outside smoking and chatting didn't seem to care for potential customers. They ignored us until we asked what time they opened. They said they will open at 18:30 and went back to their conversation. We made ourselves comfortable on our own by sitting at one of their outside tables. At 18:30, the door finally opened. Surprisingly, no one came outside to welcome us in. Since workers were outside and knew we were waiting, we figured they must still be setting up. We decided to just walk into the restaurant at 18:32. The waiter asked us if we had a reservation and we said no. He then said they are full tonight and walked away as if we just wasted his time. I really hate giving bad ratings because I know people like me actually rely on it to make decisions. I felt very upset because you mean to tell me not one of the workers could of informed us this before we waited. Also, why was the waiter so stuck up and not hospitable. Food: bone marrow - big portion but undercooked (hot on top, cold inside) and too much bread crumbs; steak tartar was average, too much cream sauce; filet mignon was ordered medium but was actually prepared rare. Meat itself was good though. Service: our waiter was impatient and super arrogant; didnt speak much English and as a result messed up our order and brought an extra filet mignon which we didnt order. At the end of the meal, he actually asked how much tip we wanted to add to the bill... This was our first restaurant experience in Belgium of this kind. Very very shallow! Advice to the management: please train your staff to speak English better. It will make your non-local customers a lot happier!! One star for the mussel! I was not going to write a review for this place, because I did not pay my meal. Anyway, after having mussels in a random restaurant in Brugge today, I felt I am obliged to leave some notes to follow travellers. I went there based on a recommendation from a former diplomatic personnel who asked me to go here for my visit in Brussels. The mussels we had were bad, it was not fresh, it had sand and it tasted no different from my hometown. I was quite disappointed after this meal and felt the slogan of "having mussels in Brussels" is so overrated. Three of us ate at this restaurant a year ago while doing business in brussels. We had a wonderful meal of tender beef and sauteed vegetables. (Gave it a good yelp rating,too). This year, we returned expecting the same experience. Unfortunately, we were badly disappointed. We ordered the prix fix beef dinner which included appetizer, soup, beef steak entree with frites and dessert. All components except the steak were good. The beef, however , was horrible. It was overcooked and tough with basic hollandaise sauce and some kind of swiss steak gravy on the plate. This was very different from the quality of beef we had received one year earlier. Perhaps they skimp on quality for the fixed menu? The final blow to this meal was when the waiter approached us and said it was time to leave because people were waiting. I had a prix fixe menu, which came with an appetizer of sauteed mushrooms on buttered toast (which were excellent), a soup (average), a steak with two different sauces (poor quality meat), and ice cream sundae for dessert (who doesn't love ice cream?). You walk through the kitchen to get to the dining room, and they finish meal preparations in the center of the dining room, so it is interesting to watch them prepare a fish, or a sauce for beef. What can I say... if you are a local in Brussels, you try to avoid as much as you can most of the restaurants around the Grand Place. Of course when you act that way, you may also miss some good restaurants that are "put in the same bag" without proper justification. Vincent is in my opinion one of these cases. I was quite impressed by the quality of the food served in this place. I am a meat lover and here I found myself in a little heaven looking at their cuts of meat. You find all the Belgian favorites. The service was very nice. Good wine selection. Clean toilets with automatic cleaning machines (like in Japan...).
