I am not really rating Dr. Lim this time because I haven't seen him in over a year.(Illness) I have been a patient of his since 2004. My last rating was 5*s in 2017. . This office is rude as when your asking for clarification question about work done the dentist goes oh yeah you can go online to the dentist site and read about work. I'm like your the doctor. I asked you because I didn't go to dentist school. Like why am I paying you? I continued to finished their recommendation with two session for deep cleaning. This visit was in October 2024. Today Jan 29, 2025 I get a call about an appointment I didn't make. The girl ask am I coming in for appointment tomorrow I didn't make. I replied no. She goes well ok there an 80$ cancellation policy for not coming in. I'm like first off I did not make this appointment. Why am I getting charged. She goes well I don't know you have to call tomorrow and talk to my manager. I'm like why do I have to call your manager when I didn't make this appointment and have to dispute a cancellation charge for something that wasn't created by me. ? She replies well I leave a note for her. I'm like you know this sounds ridiculous right ? If someone called you for an appointment you didn't make and said that can't make it and I'm going to have to charge you a cancellation. She goes quiet. I'm like yeah think about that. I really liked Dr. Lim when I saw him. However, my last appointment with the other dentist in the practice left me uncomfortable enough to seek care elsewhere. She spent a good deal of time talking about her credentials and mentioned she was only at this practice because she has young children, which I found unprofessional. She was also quite abrasive throughout the visit. She told me I needed a deep cleaning, something I'd never been recommended before. When I went to schedule it at the front desk, it wasn't even listed in my treatment plan, and the staff had to go back and confirm with the dentist. I went ahead and booked it but ultimately didn't follow through because I felt so skeptical. At my next cleaning with another dentist, a deep cleaning was not recommended. I understand that dentists can have different philosophies and approaches, but the quoted cost for the deep cleaning was quite high--even with good dental insurance. That, combined with the overall experience, led me to find care elsewhere. If you do decide to go I would schedule only with Dr. Lim and keep in mind that your patient out of pocket cost might be a bit more than what other dentists charge when you have insurance. read more

I have been coming here for about a year. They pressured me to get a DEEP CLEANING I gave in and got one 3 months ago Today was my first cleaning after my deep cleaning. The hygienist was cleaning my teeth, in the middle of my cleaning the doctor sat next to me and tried to tell me what I needed work on. She told me I need a deep cleaning. The hygienist then told her she was looking at my old X-rays. I then told her she needs to be more prepared before trying to talk me into getting more services when I just got a deep cleaning done 3 months ago. Moral of the story she is money hungry and only cares about MONEY. As a dentist you should take the time to review your clients profile and only make accurate suggestions. Not just talking out your mouth about services that are not needed. I will never come back here ever again and I advise anybody that goes here to carefully think about any services before they talk you into getting any services. read more

Do you enjoy going to the dentist? Yeah, I already know the answer, but I've been going here for almost 10 years and for good reason. The staff is so wonderful, Dr. Lim is pleasant to talk to, and I don't feel that they push products or services on me. As a matter of fact, they went up to bat against my insurance when my nightguard wasn't covered-- and I get the feeling that I was undercharged. Dr. Lim recently explained the cause of meth mouth to me when I asked him while we were discussing Breaking Bad. Jesse sure does have some nice teeth for a meth user. But I digress. If you're going to work on my mouth, I want to make sure the working environment is clean. Minimal yet classy decor with soft music piped on some hidden speakers. Everything looks perfectly in place. Makes you feel at ease. The clinic is equipped with modern high tech gadgets; from the comfortable dentist chairs, to tv monitor attached to the ceiling, to x-ray machines, to drills, etch. You can tell that a lot of thought was put into it to make clients feel comfortable and make every thing flow smoothly. BTW, free wifi at the lobby area for checking in! LOL! The asset of this clinic is its employees! Hands down the best customer service. Two weeks prior to my appointment, I get an email reminder of my appointment. Three days prior your appointment, you get a text reminder; you can confirm or cancel through text. The day before the appointment, if you have not yet confirmed, you get a call from them. I mean, they did their part to remind you with three different medium and if you still missed your appointment, it's totally your fault. When you come in, you're always greeted with a smile. The wait is never long, at least based on my previous visits. The hygienist greets you with the most calming smile and engage you with non threatening conversation. Suddenly, she's your bff talking about the weather, food and other mundane things. She's very gentle and always inquiring if you're ok! After all the drilling, flossing, brushing etch. You get a oral care bag with toothbrush, toothpaste and dental floss! I have to give Swatee, my hygienist, a special shout out and two thumbs way up! Once done, setting up your next appointment is a breeze. They accept major credit cards and most dental insurance. You can also ask them to bill you in terms. I have been going to Dr. Lim for many years and would choose him over anyone else all over again. Recently I had to have a tooth pulled. He really does believe in painless dentistry. He numbed the area--which took about 10 minutes --and removed the tooth in THREE minutes, and it was painless! He is #1 in my book. I would not recommend this dentist office to anyone. Here are my issues why: 1. I needed to get a filling on one tooth and instead of just agreeing to check my one tooth and doing an xray on that tooth, they insisted on checking my whole mouth and a new whole set of xrays which is very costly. 2. After I got them to agree on just the single xray, they said that if I did not sign the waiver for cancelling an appointment with in 48 hours to be charged, that they couldn't see me. So I gracefully accepted and told them I could not sign the waiver and left the office with out getting my tooth filled or fixed. I can not sign a 48 hour cancellation contract because sometimes my work schedule changes and I have to cancel or reschedule with less time then that. That's all I got. read more

At long last, a full set of teeth! Well, almost full. I had my wisdom teeth removed many years ago and live a nice, full life without them. An old molar fell apart nearly a year ago and had to be extracted, so I've been dealing with an empty spot on the right side of my mouth. I've been chewing mostly on the left side. Between changing jobs and changing dentists during this past year, it's only recently that I've been able to attend to this. Vincent P. Lim, DDS is a wonder! He's been a one-stop shop for my dental needs. Over the course of the past few months, he's done a bone graft, the implant, and today he topped it off with the crown. I loved my previous dentist, but he would have sent me out to to a periodontist for the bone graft and implant. And it may well have cost me a significant amount more. Suffice to say, I am very happy with the results. I cannot recommend this man more highly ... if you are in need of a very competent dentist who does not need to farm most of the work out to specialists, Vincent P. Lim, DDS is your man. Dr. Lim and his staff is one of the most professional and accommodating dental offices I have ever gone to. Very unhappy with my previous dentist, I decided to go to Dr. Lim to get some work done for a chipped tooth I had. Dr. Lim was able to see me within a couple of hours of my inquiry and I was able to happily leave his office with a temporary crown. On my following visit, Dr. Lim was patient to let me look at the color and size of my veneers before putting them on. Not satisfied, he was very accommodating and said he would send it back to the lab. On my final visit, Dr. Lim ensured I was happy with my veneers before putting them on. I had impressive experiences at Dr. Lim's Dental Office in Pinole, which I have never had before. My first dental treatment was implants in last November. Before doing it, I was very nervous. I was told it was very complicated dental surgery procedures. But to my surprise, After dental implants by Dr. Lim, I didn't feel any pain. It is fantastic! Dr. Lim is very expert at implanting work. It seems it is so easy for him to do the implant surgery. Now I don't feel my two implanted teeth any difference than other teeth. I am very happy with it. Later I brought my two sons (10 and 12 year old) to Dr. Lim Dental Office as well. After the first dental care, my sons began to like this dental office. They said all people are nice, and they don't feel any pain. They also said they can watch tv and listen to music during treatment. I highly recommend Dr. Lim Office to my friends. All staff are very professional, nice, caring and friendly. Their dental skills are fantastic. The environment is very comfortable. The price is very acceptable. So I've had very bad experiences with dentists in the past. On one occasion, I needed a root canal and the Dentist wasn't able to fully numb me so she forced the procedure directly into my nerve. I yelled so loud and she made a grown woman cry. On another occasion, another Dentist had to stop the procedure because it was too painful and again, didn't fully numb the nerve. I later needed to get some work done because I had pain in my tooth. I was so nervous because I had been traumatized already. I found Dr. Lim through a post card sent to my home and decided to give him a shot. I was so stressed and tense when I first arrived. Dr. Lim explains exactly what is expected and respected my concerns. His staff is so nice and even calls for check-up follow ups. This Dr. was able to numb me where I felt NOTHING. My tension had gone away and I swear, this man is AMAZING! I have no faith in any other Dentist than this man. I love him so much that I would drive from the Peninsula to his Vallejo office. Some procedures are pricey but it's worth every penny. If my plan had better coverage, I'd go back to fix my tooth. You are in great hands with this Doctor. I highly recommend him! read more

Finding the right dentist with an excellent staff isn't easy. My husband and I live in the Central Valley, but we often visit the Bay Area. Since our move, we haven't had any luck finding an office that meets our needs so we continue to see Dr. Lim when we are in the area. His schedule books up fast but if you end up making an appointment with one of his associate doctors-they are just as caring and gentle. I've been seeing Dr. LIM for about 7 years now. Originally, I came to him through an advertisment to get a second opinion when a different dentist said I had to have a tooth pulled. Dr. LIM saved that tooth. He is very skilled with almost painless shots if that is possible. I can say that he is by far the most pain free dentist I have ever visited and I'm always surprised how much less I have ever felt a shot with Dr. Lim verses any other dentist. This was my first incident of major dental work and I wanted only the best dentist to do the work. I definitely shopped around and had 2 other consultations by popular SF dentists before being referred by a friend to Dr. Lim. His website alone impressed me and he lived up to my expectations in person. Dr. Lim is kind, gentle, expert in his trade, professional, not an upseller and efficient. His office is well-equipped with only the most advanced dental technology. He worked like a highly skilled brain surgeon for the mouth. It was more interesting to watch him work than listen to an iPod or watch something on the ceiling screen. Even his entertaining gum chewing was done with excellence. I felt nothing during the entire two hour ordeal and found the experience to be surprisingly pleasant. The dental assistants really know their stuff. It's clear from observing interactions and watching them work that Dr. Lim is not only an amazing dentist but a good teacher/boss. I've been to many dental offices but never have I been so comfortable like how I am here at this office. I've visited both of Dr. Lim's locations, Pinole and Vallejo, and both offices are very modern and clean. I've received my cleanings from almost all the hygienists and each one is very gentle, friendly and easy to talk to. The dentists are all very knowledgable and I have never felt the need to get a second opinion else where. I also have never gotten the vibe that they're trying to sell to me treatment that is not necessary. I've gotten many fillings here and never felt any pain or discomfort at all. The receptionists are very pleasant and are very accurate when it comes to out of pocket costs so that there's no surprises later down the road regarding insurance, billing, etc. This business just deserves 5 stars from the front and back and I highly suggest anyone who is looking for a dentist to come here. If you're looking for a good dentist I am recommending Dr. Vincent Lim I have been seeing him for a few years now he's always very Pleasant he has a very welcoming staff he is open on Saturdays which is wonderful because I am a working woman so it's very hard to get time off so it's always nice when you can find a dentist office that is open on Saturdays Dr. Lim just did a procedure on my lower gums he just placed 4 implants in my lower gum for my lower dentures. I was a little nervous and excited I've been wanting to have this done for a long time it took him about an hour to do the complete procedure. So far I am very pleased with everything have had the swelling of my lower lip and the gum there some stitches that I'll have for a couple weeks it Will take about three months to completely heal and then I'll be able to snap my lower dentures and then I won't have to apply anymore of that God awful goopon my dentures and have it all over the place so again thank you Doctor I am excited and grateful and thank you for working with me and giving me such good care read more

This dentist is a real con man. Went to get a cavity fixed. Ok he said I can't get all the decay out so I will fill it and it will be ok. Came back a month later for pain in the tooth and he argued with me that I need a root canal on the tooth next to the one he filled. I said no way. You want to kill a perfectly good tooth, He charged me for the consultation, and I left, tooth still hurting. I went to another dentist, and she re fixed E tooth that he originally worked on. I called him to get my money back and he laughed at me and said don't come back to his office. Very rude. He pays for these expensive ads in the market place magazine and does sub standard work, or maybe he really does not know what the hell he is doing. I felt ripped off big time.
