(Update 02/12/2026) Received a following up call to resolve my concerns, at least this small family business is willing to help out their patients' needs and offer options. My bad I didn't ask enough on my first two visits but the concerns have been resolved in today's visit. Receptionists and dental assistants are still very nice, helpful & thoughtful. Dr. Tsang tried his very best and did a great job on fixing the diastema and reshape without numbing. This time I asked lot of questions, make sure there was no miscommunication and on the same page before the fixing processes. Dr Tsang stopped being the dentist. (Seemed to always be on vacation or not in office). His copartner (deliberately forgot her name to forget the experience) is selective with her kindness, sarcastic and humiliated me. Anytime a dentist feels its ok to yank your teeth as they see your head being jerked for a cleaning or walk up and down the hallway before attending you instead of reading previous consult or chart notes, they are not there for the patient. The dental assistant was quiet obviously just trying to keep her job. FYI for future reference- "Copartner" it is the patients right to refuse x-rays if they are pregnant or trying to get pregnant! The hygienist Roxanne was always great with me. Shes not in office as often as before. This time around, she felt the need to make unnecessary comments to my teenage daughter about her nails and lashes. Disappointed. After 9 years coming here. read more

I have found my new home. The staff was friendly. I was greeting immediately when I walked through the door, and there was even some small talk chatter while I turned in my paperwork and updated my contact information. I definitely felt at ease and knew that my visit here would be fruitful, totally different from those commercial "clinic" offices. I hate that those type of facilities have become the norm. This is probably due to the lack of proper health insurance so folks are seeking out treatment at the cheapest place possible. I did not feel as if the staff was pushing services or trying to get me for me for my money and charge for items not needed. I also appreciated the technology in the office when it was time for my cleaning they offered me headphones and turned on pandora to the station of my liking! I was like wow this is amazing, this was to prevent me from only listening to the sounds of the machines. Take a peek at the pictures below AND tell me that isn't amazing! Throughout my case, he was able to communicate my dental needs, costs, and operations in a professional manner, look for ways to save me money through insurance, and have patience for my tedious dental case. He is also very well-spoken, which I noticed off the first bat of meeting him. This was nothing like my last dentist! First visit with Dr. Tsang and staff. From my first phone call to Crystal explaining why I was looking for a new dentist, to the efficiency of new patients forms emailed (less direct contact during COVID-19), to discussions of wether or not I should get prior records to my first visit, I could not have felt more positive about being a person that was cared for and not a faceless number. Welcoming, professional and compassionate at every encounter. A day before my appointment I was emailed a Covid questionnaire, and my temperature was taken upon arrival. Staff wearing masks and face shields. A very efficiency run practice. Crystal who answered the phone also did my x-rays, the doctor also took photos of my teeth, did a full examination, went over my hot spots with suggestions and treatment plans, and he did my cleaning. The dental assistant was in there assisting with water and suction while the doctor used the ultrasound to clean, picks for under the gums and polished. Quick, painless (always checked to see if I was comfortable and could raise my hand to indicate sensitivity) and professional. Dr. Tsang and I had a frank discussion about my gums and overall teeth health and I left with a plan, follow up visit and equipment to better care for my oral health. Your parting gift bag does not include a .50 generic toothbrush and floss, but a spin brush for better gum health, floss and toothpaste. He also suggested using an air floss which I purchased from him for less than Target prices (I checked). Dr. Tsang and his office are true professionals who care for your health and treat you as a person and not a wallet. DON'T GO HERE!! I made a mistake taking my mom there when she had a terrible tooth pain, after the doctor reviewed my Mom's "X-rays" she decided it was better to pull the tooth... I was thinking she was going to say her tooth had an infection and she needs antibiotics before pulling the tooth, but that was not the case. Mom agreed because she wanted to get rid of the pain so the traumatizing story began, the doctor injected my mom over 8 times because the numbing wasn't working (obviously she had an infection!). Throughout the whole process mom was telling them to stop and the Doctor kept going, I was literally in shocked and I am mad at myself for not speaking up but at the moment I wasn't even thinking I was literally in shocked!. Mom is not fully recovered from her tooth yet, for the first 4 days she had a terrible headache to the point she couldn't even get up from bed... PLEASE SPEAK UP! Update number 3. I went in to Dr Tsang office last November 2022 for my regular cleaning. I was happy to be greeted by my hygienist Roseanne and I was surprised to see Dr. Tsang. I appreciated that he apologized for the quality of service that I had not been receiving from him. I was surprised he actually read the reviews but I was happy that he acknowledged his part in it. I had my teeth cleaned and my ex-rays examined by Dr. Tsang. He saw that one of my fillings had a hole as it was old and worn. He gave me his thoughts on how it he felt it should be handled?? Overall the appointment was a little awkward, I think for both Dr Tsang and I but it was ok. I had my teeth cleaned and polished by Roseanne and as always my cleaning was quick 15 minutes. I guess my oral hygiene of brushing, flossing and tongue scraping is keeping my mouth in good health. the dentist has zero clues about pediatric dentistry and overlooked several cavities in my toddlers mouth by brushing them off as "stains on the teeth" and kept doing a basic toothbrush cleaning to the point where a few months later the toddler teeth had to be extracted because the cavities were to the root. His referrals are to careless partners who also do poor work. His is lazy and negligent. He told me not to worry about a cavity for my teen because it would require the metal to be removed from his tooth (the metal from his braces) as if the cavity was going to just disappear rather than me having it removed, then have the cavity taken care of. He also kept scheduling me for cleaning rather than filling my cavities after several requests to have them filled. He is good for a basic cleaning and that is it. He also gets strange about direct communication and looks at the floor while talking to you as if shy or embarrassed to speak. It made my teenager feel strange. The front desk lady is kind, however she is overworked and often does not have time to take a call without putting you on hold and also has issues checking a busy schedule for an appointment and following through with communication. read more

Never before have I felt the need to write a review for a business - however, after receiving such great service from Dr. Tsang and the rest of the employees in his office, I was compelled to. To begin, it is extremely easy to schedule an appointment with them. Leading up to my appointment, I was frequently prompted with email/text reminders of my appointment. Being a forgetful person, I found it especially helpful. Once I got there, I was seen quickly after checking in. The dental assistant was very kind and sociable. When taking my x-rays, she took extra care to make sure the little square contraption sat comfortably in my mouth (or as comfortable as they can possibly be!). I've never had someone go out of their way to make sure it wasn't digging into the roof of my mouth or gums, so I definitely appreciated it. She even added little cushions on the side to ease the process. Dr. Tsang, himself, is very kind and approachable. When explaining something, he walks you through to make you understand what the problem is, why it is a problem, and what his recommended solution is + other options. Oftentimes, I've felt that other doctors in the past have thrown a bunch of medical jargon at me - and expecting me to comply with their solution. Dr. Tsang and his assistant were patient and made sure I clearly understood everything before I made my decision about my treatment. During my procedure, they made sure I was very comfortable - putting on Finding Nemo on the screen and giving me plush headphones to listen to. He would pause occasionally to ask if any areas were particularly sensitive (usually after I made a face) and continue if I gave him the okay. After about half an hour, they gave me a break, even though I didn't ask for it, because they noticed that I was getting tired from holding my mouth open for so long. Often, I find myself unable to ask for these things during procedures like this because I just want to get it all over with. But fortunately, Dr. Tsang is observant and knows what would allow for me to be more comfortable and at ease. After the treatment, they gave me specific instructions on how to upkeep my gum health once I left the office. They provided me with the proper tools plus a few more additional goodies! (Like an electronic toothbrush!) Afterwards, I had to schedule a follow up appointment that would fall in my very short winter break (only two weeks long). His secretary found me a spot despite the anticipated closed office and my limited availability. Dr. Tsang and his office truly are exceptional. I can't ever say that I've had a positive dental experience... until now. I highly recommend him! read more

Dr. Tsang is a super caring and kind dentist. He takes the time to get to know you and treats you like a genuine person while offering realistic service that doesn't force you to get unnecessary dental care. I'm just taking off a few stars because his receptionist, Elsa, is super rude. She speaks in an extremely condescending way to my parents because they're immigrants and makes them feel like they're stupid. If I ever need to reschedule an appointment she makes a huge effort to shame me for having to reschedule - something Dr. Tsang never does. My parents have decided to stop seeing Dr. Tsang because of Elsa. If he were to get a new receptionist, then our family would be happy to return. read more

I give this business 5 stars! My family and I have been coming to this dentist office for years. I am always very pleased with the treatments I receive, as well as their customer service. Everyone is vey professional and they are very considerate of your needs and comfortability. Making appointments are very easy and I appreciate the text and email reminders. The receptionist Elsa is extremely kind and is always so very helpful to me and the other 4 family members that come in. The office as well as treatment rooms are very clean. If you have trouble with bright lights, or don't like the sound of dentistry tools, a pair of shades and headphones, equipped with whatever genre of music you like, are available to you for your comfort. I have not been to a dentist in about 6 years and I was way over due for a deep cleaning. The last deep cleaning that I had was a nightmare and honestly I assumed this experience would be the same. BUT I was wrong! I was able to book a same week appointment and my deep cleaning was done in two separate appointments. They gave me a new electric toothbrush and a water pick!! Dr. Tsang is an exceptional dentist and his staff are fantastic! He has been seeing my elderly mother over the years every so often and has always provided excellent treatment with a gentle, caring hand. She's hesitant to see the dentist these days but with Dr. Tsang she doesn't experience the anxiety she might otherwise have as a limited English speaker (she's a native Spanish speaker and has lost most of her English). I am a new patient at Dr Tsang's office. I felt very welcomed because the staff is so polite and mellow. Everything procedure was handled with care and delicacy. Each staff was informative in what they were doing whether checking in and filling out forms, or placing the card things for X-rays, or going in to do the teeth cleaning. Dr Tsang was very thorough in explaining the status and health of my gums and teeth. I also went in for a second appointment to get 2 fillings redone. I mean, getting your teeth drilled into isn't exactly the easiest thing to go through, but they do a great job here making you feel comfortable! They have headphones and a tv on the ceiling, which really helps you get your mind off the people with their hands in your mouth! They're super friendly here and it's really easy to schedule an appointment with them! It's always clean and you never have to wait long to see him, I love that they're timely! Dr. Tsang and his team helped me immediately upon calling in. Originally I was having some issues with my wisdom teeth and Elsa was able to schedule me in as she knew I was having serious issues. Dr. Tsang was then able to recommend me to the right surgeon and Elsa called the surgeon directly and was able to get them to see me the following day. Lifesavers! Last month when I (once again called in last minute) they were able to work with my schedule and get me in at a convenient time for a full dental cleaning. Although it was a lengthy process (1hr!) it did not feel that way as I was kept distracted with music blasting through a headset to a Pandora station of my choosing. I drive 40 minutes to come see Dr. Tsang. At first, I lived 5 minutes away but he is worth the drive now that I have moved. His staff is always very professional. The receptionists are so good at making sure I actually follow up, too! I love that I get text reminders for upcoming appointments and can confirm via text. The hygienist has been great too. She is super kind and very gentle. Its neat watching how she seems to anticipate the Dr's needs as they work together really well. Dr. Tsang had recommended replacing a crown that was leaking and had the potential to give me a major headache. I had at first thought I would not follow through because money is tight but my mother shared with me the $$$$ she spent fixing a crown that had leaked and she begged me to get the preventative replacement done! He was able to show me in both photos and xrays where the leaking was problematic (even though the damage was already very visible --Thank you Western Dental!!). He showed me before and after pictures of each tooth he had worked on. We made a plan to fix future fillings that were sub par where he showed me the teeth were beginning to fracture and could chip with time. I appreciate that Dr. Tsang has taken the time each trip to his office to show me where I should be looking for future problems with my teeth, not just immediate things that must be fixed because it hurts. I appreciate that he also got me flossing... what? Yep. He told me that since we took before pictures, my next visit should show visible improvement from flossing. Dang.. he's good! I don't even know where the Mickey I. Review is coming from. What the heck. How could I have experienced everything to the EXTREME opposite of this person? I think that that is a fake review. I experienced no pain, and when he numbs he uses a topical anesthetic BEFORE he injects. I really don't know where that person went, but it couldn't be the same place! read more

I had the same dentist from elementary school through college. When I moved to Contra Costa County it took me a little while to find the perfect dentist. Dr. Tsang is hands down the best dentist I've been to. He is patient and listens to find the best solution each and every time. He's so good now both my kids ages 6 and 4 sees him.
