Terrible experience. After bringing my car in for one issue, I received a quote for 5 other things completely unrelated to the first issue. The shop seems professional enough, and Vince is a pleasant guy, but just couldn't shake the "I'm getting ripped off" feeling. On top of it, the car's initial problem was not properly fixed. Finding an honest mechanic is usually a huge chore. I was very pleased to have found Vince's automotive. Vince seems like a real straight shooter. I had the worst experience with this shop and from reviews looks like this guys everyone $75 dollars for diagnose and does not give you the root problem of your car, He is very egoistic , and has no understanding of customer service. our car ended up having issues that did not have previously to taking it there. When questioned why didn't you tell me of this issues , since i paid for a diagnostic to fix the car . Hi answer was, you brought a car that was not turning on , and now it is. OH excuse so know am going to pay you to tell me the problem ?? BEWARE OF THIS MECHANIC!!!! I am by no means a mechanic, car expert, or know that much about cars in general. I know my basics (oil change & spark changes) but I knew I had a problem out of my league. Vince noticed and took full advantage. The Experience: My vehicle was having trouble accelerating and it also made a strange vibration noise while driving. After searching online for mechanics near me I found Vince's shop and visited the website. After reading the content and being swayed by his "honest" video testimonial, I brought my vehicle to Vince. He took it for a test drive and gave his opinion about what he thought it was (I will admit he was correct). I couldn't stay that day and had to return later in the week. When I went back he brought me to his desk and asked me, "How much did I say for the diagnostic?" I replied, "I was going to ask you that very question, you never quoted me one." He quickly replied, "Ok. Eighty-Five Dollars." Rather steep for a simple diagnostic, but I was already there and wanted this over with so I left my keys and headed out to check out some nearby shops. My instinct told me not to leave my vehicle there alone, so I headed back and noticed my vehicle was out front, running, with no one around. I then sat in the waiting area, started to read some magazines as my vehicle continued to run for about 10 minutes. Vince then approached me and asked me, "What's going on?". I told him I was far from home, had no where to go, and didn't expect his diagnosis to take all day. Vince then got into my vehicle, pulled it into one of his bays, and left the vehicle running as he walked towards the back of his garage. At that moment a car was towed in. Vince approached the man and the man explained his son's car died and needed help. Vince immediately quoted the man $75 dollars for a diagnosis, the man was shocked at how expensive it was. Not only did Vince get right to the money, he didn't even try to ask what happened, the symptoms of the vehicle before it broke down, or even ask how the man was doing. Where are your customer service skills and compassion, Vince? You could tell this man was desperate and Vince could smell blood; a trait of one whose top priority is money. Vince then said to the man, "I can't work for free". I couldn't believe my ears, not only did he quote this man $10 less than he quoted me for the exact same service, but he treated this man like complete garbage. After talking to this man and presenting him with an invoice, Vince finally went back to my vehicle (which was still running by the way, no joke) and hooked up his computer diagnostic equipment and ran a test. After, I was given the diagnosis of the problem and was told I would need new spark wires also. We went to his desk and he told me some outrageous price and followed it with "out the door" like I was getting some amazing deal. I told him I couldn't afford that, so he brought it down slightly, attempting to give himself some good guy image. I told him go ahead and had someone pick me up. My vehicle was done later that day. I did my research after the fact and for how easy the job was and how quickly it took, I was greatly overcharged for both parts and for labor. Not only that, he never checked out the second problem I mentioned about the vibrating noise AND HE INSTALLED FAULTY SPARK PLUG WIRES! One was broken and missing the connector that plugs into the coil. THANKS VINCE! The Lesson: If you are a walk-in customer and do not know Vince personally or have not been referred to him by a family member or life-long friend of his, stay away, far away; trust me, you will be taken advantage of. Customer service skills are downright awful. Vince's automotive doesn't deserve a 1 star rating. I got Vince's info from Auto Club. Vince has always treated me first class as we nudged my aging Audi through its final stages. I have been happier with the service than I was with the Audi dealership service, and it costs less. Everyone I've interacted with has been friendly and professional. Vince communicates well, and the car is ready when he says it'll be ready. I've always felt he was honest in his evaluation and pricing, and he's gone the extra mile (because with an aging Audi, I became a pretty regular customer!). I don't expect to be there a lot now I've replaced the car, but he's been amazing right up to the end of the car's life, he was honest in his assessment of the potential of continuing to fix it, and I would absolutely return to Vince's Automotive if the need arises. read more

I'm always a bit wary about walking into an automotive repair shop for the first time. I know it's wrong, but sometimes being a woman I feel like they think I'm clueless, which I pretty much am regarding engines, and an easy target to be taken advantage of. Vince greeted me at the entrance, and thoroughly explained what they were going to do. I had a number of issues, and he took care of everything, and so quickly, including replacing parts. Got first-rate electrical service at Vince's Automotive. My worst nightmare is that I have to give my 85 Dodge commercial van to a mechanic to find an electrical problem. But Vince assured me that they would find the problem and, more than likely, the $65 estimated charge would cover the fix--which it did. So, returning from vacation, about 200 miles from home, our Ford Freestyle decided it would be a good idea to blow a fuel pump module. Not awesome! We called AAA, and then learned from the first tow truck driver that an AWD vehicle can't be towed, and has to be loaded onto a flatbed. More bad luck. The second tow truck driver took us to Vince. This was the start of our good luck! The tow truck couldn't hold all 5 adults, and we thought three of us were going to have to walk two miles to the shop. But Vince's daughter came in her personal car to pick the rest of us up. Vince's diagnosis and quote matched what our mechanic at home advised us. They had just sent out their last loaner car, so he called Enterprise Rent-A-Car and got us a rental car for $25! Our car was ready the next day, exactly when Vince said it would be. The service we got was personal, friendly, and compassionate for our distress at being stranded so far from home, with a major issue with our car. Vince also gave us good advice on how to keep our car running at its best now that it's been repaired. After Vince and crew took care of us and our vehicle, we rode home in confidence. Ok so this one should be noted, My name is Allen. I made an appointment to take my Mini Cooper 2010 Hardtop into the Bob Smith Mini dealership on 02/22/2014. The reason for the appointment was that the breaks annual checkup lights came up on 02/17/2014 and I waited till payday to take care of it which I ended up getting $1000 on pay day. I also knew it was going to be quite a bit since I also needed my oil changed out as well and I knew my 36,000 mileage maintence warranty expired in the end of 2012. When I got to the Dealership the rep Sue placed my key into the reader and said that "Both my maintence and manufacture warranties expired so thus no more warranty and that my manufacture warranty expired on 12/2013" and "that I am overdue for an oil change and that I was supposed to take my mini in to get the breaks and rotors taken care of in 08/2013." I explained to her that I never got a signal from my Mini indicator that I needed to take my Mini in for breaks in 08/2013 and only just for oil change. She then went with me to turn on the Mini and view the indicator and just took a quick walk around it and then we went back inside. After getting in she explained and also gave me an estimate quote "which I still have" print out of the following - "Standard Scope $60, Brake Fluid Service $265, Oil Service $75, Front Brakes and with Rotors $350, Fuel Injection Service $259". This came out to a total of $1009 before taxes. I explained to her that I could not afford that and she offered to take out the Fuel Injection Service which would have brought it down to $750. At that point I was very disappointed and being a CompTIA A+ PC Computer Repair Tech I can tell when I'm being told the honest truth and when I'm getting ripped. When I left the dealership I was very mad at Mini for making great cars but having these outrageous prices for repair when some of use just don't have thousands of dollars to through around and this was also including me saved some money with my pay check that I got. Having to also not get sleep due to getting off of work very late in the morning I was afraid that I might have to give up my Mini when I looked only via Android to find Vince Automotive and found they specialize in Mini Cooper repairs. I gave them a call and came in since I was in San Fernando area. Instead of just give my Mini a 2 minute look, like Sue did at Bob Smith Mini, the lead manager (who I believe is Vince) took my Mini and said they would give me a call on Monday of what is going on and how much it would be and would let me decide first since they were closing up soon on it being a Saturday and Enterprise to help me with a car rental (they were totally awesome). Sure enough on Monday 02/24/2014 they gave me a call after spending a considerable time looking at my Mini and found the same issues that the Mini dealership told me as well as letting me know that my spark plugs were dirty and that I should get them taken care of when my mileage gets to 90,000 which is what Mini recommends doing but mainly the cost to take care of everything that Sue told me about only cost me a grand total with taxes of $722.21 which I gladly paid since it was not $1009. OH MY GOD I WAS SOO HAPPY!!! I paid the fee over the phone and they took care of my Mini and it was done by 5:00pm that Monday. When I went to pick it up on Tuesday 02/25/2014 I found that they also gave my Mini a full car wash which I did not expect since usually only Mini dealerships do that. The repair mechanic that I spoke to on pickup was very nice and treated me like I was very important and trust me they are not desperate for work since they have like tons of cars and trucks there that need service that they are busy doing when I got there. I also told him how I am a Computer Tech and greatly appreciated him and his crew at Vince's Automotive for helping me out and also for helping me save nearly $300 on my extensive Mini repair. When I drove off with my Mini it drove as fast as it was on day 1 when I first got it and easer to pick up speed like then. I was soo impressed. None of the times I took my Mini to any Mini Dealership for service did it ever felt like that. Being a Tech trust me you can tell which Tech's/Repair Mechanics care about quality and which ones only care about money and I can say I did not get that same kind of love from Mini. I know Sue has her job to do but if she would have taken a different approach then it might have turned out differently instead of making me feel like all I was good for was being a cash cow and not a "take good care of the customer cause he cares about Mini". I can honestly say that from now on I'm going to be taking my Mini to Vince's Automotive and I very highly recommend any Mini owner who's looking to not skimp on Mini repairs but to also be treated fairly and ensure getting quality repairs on their Mini to definitely take it to Vince's Automotive.
