I have ordered from Vince's Pizza Smithsburg, Maryland MANY times, and never had an issue while it was owned by Roberto Gonzalez Sr. However, it is under new management now, and they are not making pizza nearly as good. It doesn't even come close! Yesterday, I ordered a Sicilian pepperoni with EXTRA cheese pizza. I'm including photos to show what I received. They didn't even put on a regular amount of cheese, let alone extra cheese. The pizza didn't even taste good. I was so disappointed by this. It's a shame they clearly didn't care what they sold me. Unlike some whiney guy complaining for 1,000 words on here about lasagna and the fact that this place, in the middle of nowhere, isn't plated fine dining, let's focus on reality: it's good, solid pizza. The crust is crunchy outside and soft inside and it has a great flavor. The sauce is sweeter than I personally like, but still good. Toppings were good. I had veggie, my friend had pepperoni. This place was fine. The pizza and appetizers were good. There didn't appear to be any table service as they just handed things over the counter as they were ready. No one else was in the place though, so it wasn't because they were too busy. Many people may not care, but they don't wear gloves or separate duties. In other words, the person taking money, touching food, and cleaning are the same person. Again, I understand this is not a big deal to some. read more

I don't have a cousin named Vinny but I have been to NY, so having an authentic pizzeria in the small town of Smithsburg is definitely no crime. I wanted to take in the humble space but instead my family decided to order delivery. Now I wasn't on the phone but heard it was free, (we lived 0.6mi away) bonus! We ordered a medium pepperoni and a large mixed veggie with Italian sausage. They arrived piping hot with fresh cut veggies and plenty of meats. Im not sure if they were house made but the onions were julienned rings instead of diced which I liked and it helped with caramelization. The sauce to cheese ratio was perfect for me without either overwhelming the other ingredients. And the most important part, the crust, was both chewy and light. Both pizzas were pretty stretched in their boxes almost gaining an inch and although I would have personally liked it a bit more well done, it was still a solid pie. I looked up their website and realized the menu is extensive! So I better go check out a calzone, chocolate dipped cannoli or some Sicilian style pizza! I also saw the medium pizza is 14" and the 16" large ($12.99) is just a dollar more. Thats almost better than scoring a date with Mona Lisa Vito! It was unexpected to find such excellent pizza in little smithsburg but being from new York I have high expectations for pizza and Vince's did not disappoint. Ambience is a typical pizza joint, a bit on the dumpy side but the staff was friendly, the food came out fast and it was delicious. We stopped in this cold morning for a bit of pie just after they opened at 11. They took great care of us and the pies were most excellent! The staff brought out the very hot and tasty pizzas, the sauce was spot on, the crust was also nice and the fresh cheese that I think they make on site was very good. Our two large pies hit the spot. I wanted to support a local business and I had seen good comments for Vince's. I am considered a high risk individual for COVID-19, so I am very cautious about outside contact. I ordered my food and had it delivered. Excited to have a meal I didn't prepare and considered it a treat. I ordered a cheeseburger sub, fries and a small pizza for the next day. I was going to eat well for the next two days. The delivery arrived fairly quickly, but then things didn't go well. The delivery person was not wearing any kind of protective gear, a mask or gloves. So that made me nervous, then he asked me to sign a receipt using his pen and I did before realizing that I shouldn't have used his pen. I washed my hands multiple times and then ate part of the sub, but my mind kept going to the thought of how was this restaurant protecting me and their employees from this virus. I didn't feel safe eating the food they had delivered. In the end I threw the food I considered a treat into the trash. During this scary time, I need to know that businesses I support are doing their best to protect me and their employees. I didn't see evidence of this with Vince's. I was very disappointed and I hope this business reads this review and thinks about how they are presenting themselves with taking this viral threat seriously. What I love about Vince's is the picture of there Vince's special is the same pizza you get delivered to your house. I love their delivery is free and fast. Their drivers are nice and courteous. Their online ordering is awesome I can pay and give a tip all in the same transaction online. Online specials are great along with a variety of 2 liters. They also have the best French fries along with their subs. I ordered their Sicilian special it was so heavy and loaded with toppings it fed a large group of six and still having leftovers. I consider myself a pizza snob I hate the production line pizza of your franchises I love pizzeria pizza and this is just like getting a slice in New York City. read more

BEWARE OF ORDERING ONLINE!! I ordered a pizza online only to get a call directly after with someone stating they could not deliver to me because I was out of delivery range. ( I live about 7 miles from the shop) I said 'no problem, just cancel the order' and ordered from another pizza shop. I noticed that they still charged me for the pizza, but as it was 'in process' on my online bank account I figured it would never actually post. But it did.... I then tried to call back about 20 times to speak with someone that could refund me the money. I even said I'd settle for a pizza being delivered to me. Eventually I spoke with a man who said he'd attempt to contact the CC company to try to get me refunded.... My guess is I'm going to end up paying for this pizza I never received... Don't understand why they couldn't just send out a frickin pizza after all the hassle!!!! read more

If I could give more stars, I would. I organize a family reunion each year and was looking for a new pizza place to cater one of our dinners. We ordered pizzas, eggplant parm, and pasta. The pizza was ridiculously good, fresh, hot, and flavorful. It was delivered to Thurmont, but arrived as fresh as if we were eating in the restaurant. The eggplant was also really good and everyone enjoyed it. We ordered buttered pasta; they sent marinara. You'd think this would ruffle feathers, but our group was thrilled b/c their marinara sauce is outrageously delicious - very flavorful homemade taste. They threw in a huge salad with dressings and delicious garlic bread at no charge. The food was absolutely perfect and the amount of food they provided was over the top. Working with Roberto only enhanced an already fantastic experience. We will be ordering again next year. I wish I lived in town b/c we would be frequent visitors! Thank you! read more

After getting rained on all day at Catcotin, our group decided to skip cooking over the campfire and hit the road. We called Vince's and they were happy to have us. 16 kids and 8 adults. This place is open till at least 8:30 on a Friday. Yelp said it was closed but it's off. They had street tacos on the menu so I decided to take a chance on the theory that if a pizza place was going to serve Mexican, it was probably good.
