    Yummy!
    G M.

I am a former professional chef at high-end restaurants. One star reviews from jealous competitors and uninformed consumers do not count. Super delicious pizza, very similar to that at the legendary Charlie's (formerly on Roosevelt Boulevard but now at 9910 Frankford Avenue). Their original owners were cousins. A thousand times more delicious than at the chains and even most mom and pop shops. And much cheaper! Great recipes with tons of flavor. Always add extra cheese for the very best taste (wow, is it creamy and dreamy!). Experiment with other toppings to determine your favorite combination. We prefer the sausage, steak, extra cheese, and of course pepperoni, all of which are fresh and top notch. The dough is made fresh daily. As at almost all other pizzerias, the tomato sauce and mushrooms are canned. Yet, they still taste good at Vince's because they are cooked properly (to a very high temperature). But it is the overall (superior) flavor that matters. You should definitely buy the large because it costs but a dollar more than the small. You can refrigerate the leftovers, which still taste fresh if reheated within a few days. The service can be slow, rude, cranky, and occasionally mistake-prone. There is no delivery. And the restaurant is open for merely six hours every day (from 4 to 10 PM). But Vince's is definitely worth the wait and trouble.

    a half eaten pizza

Crust is horrible, it's just hard. Not enough cheese. And way over priced. Never again.

It's OK pizza. Their sauce is good. Although when I had the sausage, it was way too salty. The crust reminds me of the frozen stuff you get in a supermarket freezer. I expected better from a place that folks kept on telling me is the best pizzeria in Philly. It's above average, but I'm not sure I'd go out of my way to get it. That being said, the price and customer service were phenomenal.

solid pizza!!! it's actually so interesting because it tastes like deep dish, but it's thin crust?? the cheese is endless and stacked under a lot of the sauce too, so it's super heavy in terms of both weight and flavor! the crust is not my fav - i would like it crispier but it did a good job of holding up all the cheese and sauce that's packed in. i took off one star only because it has so much cheese, the cheese hardens after the first slice. it's so good when it's all hot and stretches out, but when it hardens it's just not as magical.

    Perfect plain large pie.

Vince's pizza was awesome! Great flavor, well done, and just enough cheese. I didn't realize how many places they have, our waitress filled us in on all their locations. Definitely will be going back I kinda like going to the original shop but may try the others if in the area. Highly recommend.

Small menu and to the point. They have pizza and that's it.

I have been here quite a few times. I always get what I order and expect nothing less then some of the best pizza. The place is full of locals reliving out their good old days, where pizza was actually made from scratch and delivery wasn't a thing. Cash only is a diner thing now a days but Vince's has stayed true to their good old ways with this as well. Very minimal in toppings and variety. It's all about their thin crispy crust and thick slices of cheese throughout. My top 3 pizza places of all time.

    Do one thing well.

I love their pizza, always thin, crispy and so tasty. My 90 year old mother says it's the best ever.

Our server apologized for a delay in taking our drink orders. She was attentive the rest of our meal. I ordered a Charles deGaulle whiskey cocktail. Lemon, aperol and simple syrup added a refreshing twist. For entrees, my wife ordered the pacherri; a simple pork ragu with tender broccoli rabe, Parmesan, stracciatello and basil. The dish was delicious. I enjoyed my plate of sea-inspired tonnarelli nero. Bay scallops in crab ragu with fennel sofrito. Served with squid ink pasta that imparted a slight brininess. The pasta was cooked pangrattato style-- coated in panko bread crumbs and garlic. The dish had many flavors but they all came back to the theme. Cocktail prices and entree prices were very reasonable. They offer happy hour drinks and specials. Certainly a very good choice if you're in the area.

The short rib over polenta was probably my favorite thing on the table - it fell apart easily and the polenta underneath wasn't as heavy as I expected it to be. We got the salted caramel budino for dessert too, and I was glad it wasn't one of those desserts that's so sweet you can only handle two bites. Would go back honestly. Probably order something different next time just to try more of the menu, but I'm getting that ricotta again no matter what.

I personally would order this as my meal if I could. room temp, oily, good crunch to soft ratio. Judion Beans: good beans. they are on a similar wavelength as butter beans. honestly I get them for the table for the extra bowl of oil at the bottom to dip the crusts in. Creamy Oregano Salad: very interesting. small shaves of mushroom and fennel. very slight bitter taste. oddly addictive. the olives were my favorite part. i'd consider these friendly olives to those suspicious of olives. and the olives are cut in halves, so easy to pick out. so are the mushrooms. easy split for a table of four. beyond that i'd get two. *ADD ON* pickled chilies: very good. I suggest adding this to the pie. they are green, spicy, delicious, absolutely lovely. Corn Pizza: all together very delicious. my favorite part are the cherry tomatoes on top, which I would really like to be an add on option to other pies. they are the perfect flavor and size. i'm not particularly a tomato fan, especially whole. these are a rare exception. Classic Pizza?: solid, no notes. good as always. My only wish is that they offered a sauce to dip my crust in. they have very good crust, perfect ration of crispy and fluffy. just needs a sauce. Overall, great service, the manager greeted us to check on our meal, our server was attentive, the vibe is great inside.

Makes it a great spot for a pizza date night. The pizzas absolutely are the star and they care about the quality that they put out. I've never had a pizza that wasn't within their consistent standard. The corn pizza, when in season, is a stunner and a reason to go on its own. The small plates are all delicious and if you like wine, the list they have is really strong always. All of the above said, every single time I go I see the bill and I say to myself, "oh that was a little more than I thought it was going to be." Has it stopped me from going back? No! And I don't think it should be a deterrent, but good to keep in mind. Like I said, the food is so great and the staff is as well. As a whole package, though? 4-stars!

I was immediately seated upon arriving to Pizzeria Vetri. I was asked if I wanted to sit at the bar, at a table, or at the pizza counter. I chose the pizza counter so that I could watch staff making pizzas. As I was there on my own, the serving staff continued to stop by and check on me.
