Get comfortable and wait. After a while guy comes out and says about a 5 minutes guys and runs away. Soon he comes back with our pies. Cute local place. Must have been the owner that helped me. Very friendly and appreciative of the business. Ordered a medium meat lovers. The smallest you can order. Cost was about $20 as they charged a 3.9% service fee on a credit card order. Don't care for that when businesses assess that fee. The pizza itself was very good. The crust was nice and thin with a slight crispness to it. The sauce was flavorful and not too tomatoey. The ingredients, however I felt a bit slighted on. There was hardly any sausage which is my favorite of the meats. Overall, it was a very, very good pizza and I would've given it a 5 if it wasn't for the service charge and the light ingredients. Where do we start....how bout with the pizza review as the name of this Spot is Old Friends Pizza. Sausage and Cheese Pizza - The Cheese slices look magical to me, especially the cheese slice three slices to the right in Pizza Pic one that I uploaded. Just a terrific blend of grease and cheese. I also love the fact they give you condiments that you don't even have to ask for to enhance the pizza flavor. First pizza place I ever received this kind of additional detail when taking out and it was much appreciated. An unbiased review even though I live within walking distance from this local spot I can say this is above average pizza with great customer service. I rather give them my dollars then Papa John's or Domino's any day of the week. Stromboli - This was enough Stromboli for about four additional servings out of the freezer. The taste held up very well when heated up again in the oven. I was expecting more pizza sauce in it or on the side as I cannot recommend this unless your just looking for a very large meal for yourself with plenty of leftovers. So, we ordered from this place last evening for a take out dinner. We ordered the regular pizza, fries and a steak sandwich. They offer a thin crust pizza called "Grandma Style", however, I can't imagine the crust being any thinner than what we received. The pizza was undercooked IMO, lacked sauce and was a little heavy on the cheese. The taste was average, nothing to rave about. The steak sandwich was basically a Steak-Umm. Having eaten Steak-Umms growing up, there was no mistaking the taste and consistency. I do not recommend getting a steak sandwich from here. The fries were the typical battered fries which I don't like any variety of, the rest of the crew said they were okay. Overall, just an average or slightly below average pizza spot. Ordered three pizza's for pickup from here recently and I have to say I felt very welcome. The two guys working inside were genuinely nice and thanked me countless times for stopping in. I feel for these guys because half of the strip mall they are located in is vacant. The pizza itself is oven baked, had a stiffer dough which kept the slices from being floppy and the amount of cheese was just right so when you bit into it you didn't get a whole lot of stringy stretchy cheese. The sauce was a tad on the sweeter side which I prefer and had good flavor. The pizza was not overly greasy which is always a plus for me. The pepperoni pie was solid as well. I like my pizza well done and asked for it to be, but it may have come out a little earlier than it should have. It's alright though because the pizza was above average to me. After seeing so many positive reviews I will definitely return in the future to try other offerings they have. I really appreciated the friendliness! read more

WOW! I am pleasantly surprised of how good their pizza is, especially for Bensalem who is known for mediocrity. Can't tell you how many times I've driven past this spot in my life. I ordered a grandma pie and it was delivered in in about 45 minutes (they said 55) so that's a good start. Delivery pizza is always graded on a different scale from dine in. Very thin pie which I love, a sweet sauce paired with a good ratio of cheese and basil. The crisp was incredible even after the 10 minutes drive in the box. 8.2 very good and will try take out to get it fresh. read more

Ordered a side of the sampler and chicken parmigiana with ziti for take out. This was a shared meal, but we ate a salad first, and still have enough for two more meals. We are not big eaters. The sampler was still warm and crispy after a 10 minute ride home. The chicken was very moist and tasty. I am fussy about red gravy but we liked it. Overall, we were pleasantly surprised, we only ever ordered tomato pie from them, which is very good. It is very affordable, so we can order a meal more than once a week. read more

Old Friends Pizza is a small, mostly take-out pizza shop. However, they do have a small, cozy dining area with a TV and pretty comfortable chairs. The owner was super friendly and greeted us as though we were regulars. Very nice! We kept it simple with 1 large "Works" pizza (5 toppings of your choice) and a large white pizza. The Works pizza with sausage, pepperoni, bacon, mushrooms and onions was smartly assembled. All the toppings were chopped and evenly spread out on the pie. White pizza was loaded with cheese and garlic. The crust was very thin, and both crisp and chewy but not too doughy. Excellent! Old Friends was a great choice for our last meal of 2018! We will definitely stop in for a few slices on our way to Parx. read more

Old Friends Pizza, way down on Hulmeville Road, Bensalem, PA, has just enough table space for a few old friends to join you to mange Italiano. Four tables. Four chairs per. If you want to invite more than 16, well, that just can't happen. You also need to be sure the air conditioning is working, otherwise the party will be a little uncomfortable dealing with the heat and humidity, as I was. Not in the mood for pizza, I ordered an eggplant parmijiana sandwich on torpedo roll. I passed on the suggestion to add fries to that. Saw no need for the extra calories. I found a chair in the empty dining room and watched the Thursday afternoon rain through the storefront window. One of the kitchen guys served my lunch on ceramic plate. So much better than paper. It was a large production, with thick slices of breaded and browned melanzone, layered with chunky red sauce and overlain with melted provolone by a turn in the oven. It was really too zoftig to pick up by hand and jam into my mouth. So, I asked for knife and fork - the table tools associated with proper dining. In reply, I was handed two thin plastic utensils. They both failed the strength test, as they bowed and cracked attempting to cut through the sammy. The knife gave up from the density of the bread, and snapped in half. I decided to eat the eggplant, sauce and cheese with the fork used to pull things apart before spearing. Not the funnest way to go. The taste was pretty good, but needed more sauce and less oil. It would also have benefited from thinner slicing and hotter pan to sear the copious coating, rather than the oil being absorbed into it. This was not Old Friends finest hour. Pizza would have been a better way to go. read more

The Best Pizza!!! This is a great place to go and pick up dinner. They have the friendliest staff that is very accommodating. The owner is almost always there making his delicious pizza pies. His pizza's do to take time, so don't rush the perfection. Thin and crispy crust with sweet savory sauce and mozzarella cheese that is just right. Everybody that eats their pie at my house loves it, and I never have left overs. Their Grandma pie is fantastic, it's completely made from scratch, with pizza man making adjustments throughout his cooking process. It takes an hour for him to make the pie(no lie), worth every second. The shop is not very big inside, but it does have seating if you want to eat in. I almost always go take out. Only thought the pizza was ok - nothing spectacular. We ordered 2 pies for delivery, and they quoted us for 45 minutes. Kind of lengthy, but we kept with it. It came in 53 minutes. By the time we opened the box, the pizza wasn't really hot. And another reviewer said the pizza wasn't that greasy?? I thought the pepperoni pizza was the greasiest pizza I've ever seen! It seemed as if it was soaking through the box! The chicken and ranch pizza was basically greaseless, which is good. Tasted ok, but felt like it needed something else. Cheese was already hardened by the time we got it, so warm pizza is not an accurate thing to review. I thought the crust was a little too dry yet soft, if that makes sense. Didn't have enough of that chewy consistency I enjoy in a pizza. Maybe I'll try the other menu items another time - but the pizza here just didn't do it for me.
