So our kitchen sink leaked for two days while we waited for our usual plumber to call us back. We gave up because rinsing dishes in the backyard was getting incredibly tiring, and we started researching other plumbers in our area (Burbank) on Yelp - where we came across the outstanding reviews for Vince. He lived up to his reputation 100%! When I called him 8am on Monday morning, he answered. He scheduled me right in for 3:30 that day and called back at 1:30 saying he was ahead of scheduled and wanted to check if I was available early! (yep...early! - that's a first!) He was friendly and professional both on the phone and in person. As he looked at my issue, he claimed..."I see... It's a faucet issue! All you have to do is tighten the faucet and it's fixed! - No charge, your all set!" - I offered to pay for his time of course and he kindly declined. Best Buy tried to install a new dishwasher for me but it needed some work done before it would work properly (and they don't do that). So of course I turned to Yelp to point me in the right direction... First appt I had to reschedule to later in the week and on the 2nd appt day Vince was delayed 90 mins---no biggie, he called and I made arrangements for someone to be home at the later time. I needed my water heater replaced and it wasn't super simple because a crap hardscape company actually poured the concrete patio around the base of the water heater locker. So the water heater now sits BELOW the level of the patio around it. Anyway, makes the job a little harder. I call Vince, he comes out on time, friendly, wearing a mask, everything you'd want. I show him the water heater and he notices it's below grade without me saying anything, he notices the inaccessible gas shut off without me saying anything, he notices all the other things I know are wrong without me pointing them out. He explains all the things that need to be updated to comply with current code. He says he'll have a quote the next day. The quote is very fair, especially since other quotes I got I don't think were going to do the updates to meet code. We set up a time the next week for the install. He shows up on time with his assistant, again friendly, again wearing masks. They get the old tank out and the new one in with all the updates in a little over an hour. Vince actually charges me LESS than quoted because he says the job was easier than he thought. I know have a beautifully installed water heater that is safe and up to code and couldn't he happier. We live in Burbank. We had a shower valve fail (knob you turn to turn on the shower and adjust hot and cold water to the shower). I attempted to replace the valve myself in the wall but realized the copper pipes would need to be soldered. So, based on other reviews here, I called Vince and set up an appointment). Over the phone, he helped me save money by recommending I remove a large square of drywall and wood behind the valve on the other side of the wall before he got there (so he could access it), which I did. He arrived on-time to the appointment (important to me), and brought his daughter. In no time at all, Vince had removed the faulty valve and soldered in the new package we had already purchased from Lowes. He did a great job and explained to me what he was doing and why, and I loved gaining the additional plumbing knowledge. I don't like to do this to professionals (bring up another problem at the time), but I had had the hardest time finding a small part for our more expensive and rare toilet, so I asked him about it. Not only did he know about it, he HAD THE PART IN HIS TRUCK. I bought it for a few bucks and he even installed it for me. Man, what a deal! Vince is exactly what you want in a plumber - dependable, reliable, knowledgeable, professional, kind, and a great value. There's no doubt who I'm calling the next time we have a plumbing issue I can't fix...and I recommend him to anyone out there in the Burbank area. I first used Vince when my hot water heater burst during the night and water was flowing from it. He came right over ( with his daughter back then) and found me a new heater and fixed it in record time. There was a problem and he came right back ( twice) and fixed it with an apology and even tightened some other things that needed adjusting that he spotted. We never thought there are honest plumbers left until we found Vince. We were having so much problem with our kitchen sink and bathroom but we did not know who to call. A couple of plumbers we tried in the past were both so unaffordable to someone like me who is retired and has fixed income. We saw Vince truck parked in front of our next door neighbor and so we thought if our neighbor trusted him, maybe he is worth a try. We also checked Yelp and he has very good reviews. He came and found that there is a more serious problem under the house. The original pipe was corroding and that is why when he tried to run the cable in our kitchen pipe, it got stuck. He had to go under the house and replace the pipe. He told us he will give us an estimate so we could decide if we will let him fix it or just stop using our kitchen sink. While waiting for his call, my wife and I were getting nervous about how much would it cost us. We thought for sure, it will going to break us financially. No plumber is worth $585 an hour for labor! Vince was out to our house today for the third time in about two years. Loved him on the first visit and one of my housemates wrote a glowing review. Second time was OK. Today he came out when I wasn't home. So some of the experience was relayed to me by phone. I was skeptical about the price and the problem but said little. I wasn't there to handle. But I do know the facts about the costs, and will stick to those. When I returned home, I checked the price of the garbage disposal he installed. It sells for about $150 retail. I'm guessing his contractor discount shaved some off the price. But I'm using $150 as the price. His charge for the disposal and installation was $345. Installation took no more than 20 minutes. (I saw his truck arrive and received a phone call as soon as he left.) This means he charged about $585 an hour for labor. I could have watched a YouTube video and replaced the disposal myself, if it needed replacing. I didn't think it needed replacing and didn't want to ruin my hair to find out. I should have risked it. My hair dresser does not charge $585 an hour. I am horribly disappointed. This is not the way to treat a return customer or a young woman without the experience to ask a contractor to break down his costs. I have recommended Vince to others. I can't afford to live in Burbank. If I hadn't bought the tiny house here in 1983, I wouldn't be able to afford to live here. Indeed, I've thought of selling it and moving to the boonies somewhere and maybe eating better. I consider all of the things I would leave behind, but I figure I can do without them. Then I realized that the one thing that will keep me from leaving Burbank is knowing that when I have plumbing problems, Vince will be here for me. Just last Friday, he showed up -- a half hour earlier than he had promised -- and did his magic with a kitchen faucet and garbage disposal. I so much enjoy it when he's here -- even though he attended Burroughs and I attended Burbank High. He had as assistant with him named J.R., and this wonderful kid was equally as clean, courteous and professional. "It turns out J.R. and I went to the same schools in Burbank," Vince said. "We both graduated from Burroughs and from Jordan. Plus, we both went to elementary school at what's now Disney Elementary -- it was called Central when I went there." J.R. didn't like the way the garbage disposal's wiring set-up down there, so he let Vince know. Vince looked at the job J.R. had done and complimented him for making it function at all. "Give me a call next week," Vince told me, "and we'll come with some new wire and get it done even better." He's such a great guy, and his prices are very reasonable. Frustration. I don't have time for professionals when I take time out of my schedule and get responses that show the person isn't going to try. Was referred by a coworker to Vince. Made an appointment a week beforehand because he was very booked. 8:30am the day of I get the call that there is no parking and his truck won't fit in the underground parking (which I don't believe... I've seen a ton of trucks parked underneath). Even after I asked for him to park a block or so away, he said no because he needed his equipment to do a simple "estimate". All I needed was for him to come and look at the problem and give me a quote. Didn't need equipment to be brought in. it was christmas eve, and i thought our swiffer wet jet was leaking. turns out it was our water heater. the leak sopped a bath towel within 15 minutes. we had 15 guests coming the next day for christmas dinner. i left vince a voicemail, and he called me back that night. he said that he wouldn't be able to help us out until the day after christmas (understandably.) he called when he was running a little late. the suppliers he uses weren't open that day (which was not his fault) so he ended up giving us a deal. he arrived the following day, 5 minutes early, with his co-worker, chris. he explained everything in layman's terms, and installed our new water heater to code. his time estimate was 2.5 hours, and that's about how long it took him. vince was personable and professional, and cleaned up after performing the installation. i was extremely skeptical about the 5-star average, and was pleasantly surprised to find out that it was accurate! i would give him 6 stars if i could! read more

Needed a plumber to check on rental unit in burbank that had leek in the ceiling. Vince called me back promptly and made an appointment. Vince came out to check my water heater that had stopped working when I woke up in the morning. He came out for a free inspection & estimate but found that it was only the pilot light that needed to be relighted. I thought for sure the water heater had finally failed because it is 19 years old.
