Hi Hector. The first text I received about the account was 9/2/2021. Apparently your company had my email address spelled incorrectly (Lindsay) and not once did I receive a phone call, text, email or anything in the mail until 9/2/21. I spoke with someone in the office back in 2020 and gave the credit card information a second time and after that, assumed it was resolved. You can check with Samantha, she fixed the email error on your end. I was given very little time to go through my credit card statements and since it had been a great length of time, could not check through the app and had to go to the website from a computer. I needed to check a couple of accounts to ensure this hadn't been paid. read more

Edit: they did contact me to fix this problem and I appreciate that so I added a star. I already had the work done by someone else so nothing more can be fixed but I appreciated the kind phone call from the manager and message from the owner. Original review: I had gotten estimates for two projects originally. Went forward with one and it was done well. Called back later to see about moving forward with my second project but wanted to see if the estimate was still valid, since it had been months, or if they could give me a new one. Each time I called, they were unsure what the project was, and gave me THREE different estimates, each one being different with each phone call. Finally they decided just to honor the first one (although they admitted it was incorrect- said the technician didn't work for them anymore and so they were confused about his notes and prices), and when I went to book, I found out they were only going to do HALF of the work. What?! I needed a ceiling fan installed and they were *only* going to install the fan, but no light switch/fan switch, no rewiring the outlet, nothing else. I would've been out $500 and no way to use the light/fan. And that's even after I had someone from their company out and we discussed the project in length, so one would think they wouldn't known between the many phone calls and having a tech out that they would've understood the project. guess not. I went with a different electrician who did ALL of the work, three rooms with fans/lights, light switches and outlets for $700 total. Less then half of what Vine would've charged, and with WAY less confusion and was WAY less sketchy. Almost wondering how they even get projects done with being so disorganized. read more

Have Vine to install two bathroom fans. The person who came to my house to get me a quote is professional and responsive. Asked me to send him a detail of work to avoid the assigned worker confusion. However, the worker who came to my house seems unprepared. 1. My quote is clearly specified to remove the existing light and replace to a bath fan w/ build in light function on the same spot. They use pencil to mark where they need to cut the ceiling. Found that he tried to cut next to the light. He corrected it later after asked me to confirm the place. And finally before they left, I found that he already drill a hole on the wrong spot. He did not offer to patch the hole or let me know that is a hole until I found out. I still need to buy paint to cover the simple mistake( it could be avoided if he read the quote) 2. 2nd time to ask me to confirm the work for 2nd bathroom. He asked if I am going to cut the wall and install an extra gang box for the new fan because the existing gang boxes already for the wall light and the plug. This time I asked if he read the quote before he started to work. No question asked after he read the quote. 3. I knew some professional knew what they are doing and preferred not to switch off the electric panel. However, as a home owner, I prefer to minimize the accident inside my home. I introduced the panel is located in the garage and asked to turn them off when they work when they first came into my house. Later, found that they remove the gang box and wire without switching off the panel. 4. I never thought that until later the day. It happened towards the end of work. Floor is cleared and the guy was in my bedroom to patch the hole. I tried to go to my master bedroom to get something and found that the door is locked. The door is remained open during the whole period of work and even when the other person cleaned up my place. The guy unlocked the door few seconds later after I tried to open door. I still feel uncomfortable what he did inside my room. Update: disclaimer- the worker never ever asked for permission to use the bathroom at all. So no permission is given by the owner. I specifically told the owner of this company that they never asked. And if they asked, the worker should use the hallway bathroom instead of using my master one and locked my bedroom without notice. And there is no way to find out what he did when he locked my bedroom. I never had any worker come to the house and use the master room for no.2. When he unlocked the door, he even pretended he is patching the hole. 2nd, the owner explained that the worker tried to avoid any pipe on the attic and always want to confirm with the home owner before working. He explained the worker did read the quote. If he is following a protocol to prevent mistake, he should 1. Confirm with the home owner before drilling the hole 2. If he did read the quote, he will know he should remove the light and no longer need to drill a hole because he can now see through from the attic. So, from my understanding, he never ever read the quote! Finished the call with the owner plus what the owner commented that I gave a permission to them to use my master bathroom( which is not true). I considered to move from 3 starts to 2 stars. read more

Scheduled an estimate, agreed on the job/price, and then scheduled the job for Friday. Took off of work to ensure that I would be home for the work and Vine Electric never showed up. I called them to inquire as to what happened and they simply apologized and asked to reschedule for Wednesday saying it's a problem with their scheduling system. Well, it's Wednesday and the same thing happened. No show. This time I get a call apologizing saying that they can't come to the job because of traffic and they'd like to reschedule. I took off of work again today to be home for this. This is just unacceptable. How does a company expect to succeed with these business practices? I would not recommend Vine Electric. Save your money and save the stress. This company cost me money since I took off of work to be home for these missed appointments. read more

I would reach out to Vine Electric again and recommend them to anyone looking for the complete package including friendly customer service, punctuality, professionalism and in-line/competitive pricing. At the time of my review, I was new to the area of Vallejo and didn't have any idea who to reach out to for electrical work. I requested bids through Yelp and was put in touch with the few electricians who service the area. At the time Vine Electric had good reviews but not the highest among the small group. I hope that changes, Vine Electric is truly deserving. Michael was the electrician that arrived and he was able to upgrade an outlet from 23v to 120v to accommodate a dishwasher, without any issues. He ensured that the outlet was set up properly to deliver power as needed for the disposal and the dishwasher. In parallel, he was able to troubleshoot an outlet in a different room. I give them a 4-star rating instead of a 5-star rating for a couple minor reasons. Again, I would use them again and recommend them. 1. In troubleshooting the second outlet I was told it would require accessing the attic to drop more line to fix the issue. As it turns out it was only that on the same wall a couple wires were crossed. Once those were corrected, the outlet started working as expected. 2. Though it turned out to be good that they didn't have time to fix the outlet, it was disappointing that I was prepared to get started with the work, but they hadn't allowed for enough time in the appointment to resolve, only troubleshoot. It was an issue I listed during the call to make the appointment. In the end, an engineer friend of mine resolved the issue for nothing more than an easy BBQ in about the same amount of time or less. read more

Vine Electric installed four overhead lights in my garage. I would not recommend Vine Electric for the three reasons below. Reasons 1-2 are somewhat minor, but reason 3 is the dealbreaker for me. Reason 1: I requested an appointment through Yelp, and the Vine Electric office did get back to me to to confirm the time. Vine did not show up for the appointment. I called them to follow up, and the office blamed the no-show on issues they were having with Yelp. They did have the estimator arrive about an hour after my call, which I felt was very responsive, so I decided to proceed with the estimate. Reason 2: It appeared to me that the electrician installed everything to spec. Everything worked and he was conscientious enough to find where the joists were in order to position the lights correctly. However, when I lowered the lights to paint around them I noticed that two of the four screws holding each light were not anchored in the drywall. He screwed then in not using the wall anchors supplied by the manufacturer and they were "floating" in the drywall unable to hold any weight. The other two screws were indeed anchored into the joists, but since the light manufacturer supplied four holes for mounting, I would expect that all holes would be used as the manufacturer intended so the lights are securely fastened overhead. Reason 3: Vine Electric increased their charges without discussing this with me. When I called the office to pay the bill, they increased my cost for the job a couple hundred dollars claiming that it took longer to complete the job and that I should pay more than the original estimate. I find it dishonest business practice to estimate a job, complete the job without discussing any cost overruns, and then bill the customer more simply because it took longer than the estimator had anticipated. If I had known the final bill, I would have simply hired one of the other electricians who gave me a competitive bid. read more

We FINALLY decided to upgrade the 50+ year old electric panel and service package along with some current decade lighting as part of a solar upgrade and HVAC installation. Vine was the sub to our solar contractor and frankly, we could not be happier with their work. Patrick and Eric arrived on time each day, got straight to work, and completed the days projects on time. They cleaned up and did no damage to the house during the process. The team was on-time, polite, informative, helpful, professional, and frankly I'd have no problem having them or any of the Vine team back for any and all electrical needs. Called them out to do and estimate on a home I just purchased. Estimate was excessively high!! $6000 labor to install 10 recess lights and replace 3 ceiling fans. Total for the project was $7200 so the materials were only $1200. I elected to go with another licensed electrician that charged $1750 for the recess lights and $150 per ceiling fan. I gave 3 stars because they were nice even though the price was astronomical. $6000 in labor to install 10 recess lights.. No way!!! read more

Editing this to 3-Stars; I appreciate the responsiveness of the business. ORIGINAL POST Our home did not come with a doorbell installed and so I hired Vine Electic to install a smart wired doorbell. INITIATING AN ESTIMATE I found the company via Yelp which is where our communication began. The team was very responsive and accommodating when I had an emergency and had to reschedule my appointment at the last minute (unfortunately due to an accident). CONSULTATION Joel was my estimator and he was incredibly nice and prompt. We had bids out with other companies with comparable prices. We ultimately went with Vine because I really like and trusted Joel. My consultation included estimates for 3 diff jobs so that I could prioritize and consolidate as needed. For the purpose of this review I will focus only on what I actually hired them for. We did a walk through of the placement and what I was looking for. I didn't have the hardware on me at the time but I mentioned to him I would be purchasing the smart video doorbell and pointed out that there was no doorbell there previously. GETTING THE ESTIMATE Estimates were provided same day. Joel provided the estimate initially for all 3 jobs but as that was more than I was ready for, I asked him to break out the jobs a la carte. He was responsive and provided that shortly after (maybe hours no more than the next date). HIRED! I signed off on the estimate and aligned with their support team on timing since I needed to wait for the doorbell to arrive. Response times were quick. Waiting for my hardware was a benefit since where is some lead time to scheduling work to be done. INSTALLATION One thing I really appreciated are the auto text to let me know someone is on the way so I can manage expectations as I work during the day. Two men arrived who were very kind. We aligned on placement and where a hole would need to be made for the transformer to power my doorbell. They did unfortunately make a larger hole in the dry wall. I did comment at the time that the doorbell was hard to hear and I was told they didn't know anything about that. WHY 1-STAR Is my doorbell installed? Technically. Yes. Does it function as a doorbell? No. I realized the only reason why I heard the doorbell is because it is connected to a smart display I have in another part of the house. I contacted Vine and they sent someone out quickly to look into it. Turns out I was missing a chime. Here's what went wrong as a customer: 1) even though I was providing the smart doorbell, it wasn't made clear that I needed to provide a chime. As a consumer I wouldn't know this would be required (hence we hire professionals). 2) even if I was providing this, my assumption is this isn't Vine's first rodeo when it comes to smart doorbell installations. It should be something proactively communicated that not all smart doorbells come with this. It should not be on the consumer to figure this out on their own. 3) the job was to install a doorbell where there wasn't one previously. This should have been part of the discussion at a minimum during the consultation OR pointed out by the team who was sent to do the job. 4) there's a pretty large gap left in my wall. Repair of drywall isn't included. Not even rough patching. I didn't think rough patching was not included. 5) technically what was excited is per the work order but this is just bad business. I wanted a functioning doorbell. I don't have one. I was not aware of the requirements or what I was responsible for when I took on purchasing the hardware myself. This isn't a fair way to treat customers. WHAT WOULD HAVE MADE THIS BETTER There needs to be better communication on what is required from the customer when they are providing their own materials. If there are assumptions this should be included in the SOW/estimate. It cannot be on the customer to figure out what they need for a job they are hiring a professional for. The business needs to come, provide their recommendations, outline risks and assumptions and then the customer can make their choices. I'm pretty disappointed. I have asked the business to absorb the cost to install the chime since it's not really working and a miss on their part because I provided the doorbell. So basically I paid a lot to install a camera. I do have future work that I will need help with but this interaction has left me a bit in the dust and unlikely to reach out for future work/quotes again. BOTTOM LINE If you are looking to hire them, it sounds like you need to be pretty savvy to ask the right questions since they are not proactive in their communication. That is the difference between 1-stars and 5-stars. In the end I don't actually have a doorbell that works. read more

We called Vine Electric to schedule an appointment. Serafina, who answered the phone, was very friendly. She got our contact information and scheduled us for an appointment. We have several electrical projects that need to be done to the home that we just purchased ( i.e. install houseless LED can lights in 5 rooms, install a new outlet, etc). The estimator, Matt, came to the house, and we discussed what we wanted to be done. He was very professional and very thorough. He went around the house and gave his suggestions and informed us that he will have the quote ready in a day or two. After two days, we received the quote and after reviewing it, which was fair and reasonable for the projects, we decided to hire them. On the day of the scheduled appointment, Jose and Alex came. They were prompt, went through the whole process, give suggestions, asked questions, and start working on the projects. I needed either a Tesla charger, or a 14-50 NEMA outlet in my garage, and decided to go with a more versatile 14-50 set up. Electrician stuff makes me nervous, I installed a doorbell for my home and even for that I turned off the power in my house - so I wouldn't even dare try and attempt this and wanted the best folks to do it. A few my of my neighbors have tesla's and I asked them for recommendation; each of them recommended vine so I gave them a call. They helped me set up an appointment, and Mike came on time and was extremely knowledgeable. They quoted me a fair price and I was super excited to get this going. Luie came a few days later at the exact time of the appointment - 8am! I've never had a single person come to service that punctual. Update: Wow! I am not really sure what internal SNAFU lead to my original fiasco, but the follow up to this review has been amazing. I was contacted this morning by Mike (the operations manager, I believe) to ask if he could come out and see what it would take to fix the problem. Initially, I was a bit skeptical, given my previous experience, but I was home, so why not? Between Mike's call and a couple of coordinating calls from their office, we found a time that worked for both of us. Mike showed up exactly on time, was very apologetic and assured me that this is not how their company normally does business. He came up with a plan to fix my problem which is way more than I even anticipated. And given what I went through originally, he offered to do it for free! I don't believe a company would offer to do work at no charge if this was a common occurrence, at least not one that stays in business very long. It tells me that this is a company that actually does stand behind their work and is willing to put their money where their mouth is. The problem is not fixed yet, but we scheduled a time next Friday to have a team come out and I am feeling pretty optimistic. AND Mike fixed an unrelated problem with my swimming pool light while he was here! Assuming everything goes well on Friday, I will definitely be using Vine Electric for any future electrical needs! Update 2: Jose and Mike came today and they far exceeded my expectations. They completed what they said they were going to do, were professional, and honestly nice people. Original Review: I have a workshop in my garage. I use a heater, sometimes a vacuum, along with many other tools. When I use too many together I overload the circuit and it trips. Since I want to be able to do what I want to do, I figured that I needed to add new circuit. I am fairly handy when it comes to electrical work, but this seemed like it may be out of my league, so I decided to call a professional. It all started out well, they were responsive and sent a person out to look at the issue and give me a quote. He proposed a solution that I did not quite understand (but what do I know, I am not an electrician) at what I felt was a reasonable price, so I scheduled them to do it. That's when things turned bad. The two gentlemen that showed up to do the job, had apparently not spoken to the person who quoted the job, and really had no idea what they were supposed to be doing there. But they attempted to make do. I was told by the estimator "this will be an easy job, we should be able to do it in an hour to an hour and a half". Well, after about two and a half hours I went down to check on them and was told that they had broken a flex pipe and couldn't finish, and since they were already on overtime, I would need to call back and schedule another appointment (um...ok). So I did, I called back and scheduled them for the following Monday (today). So one of the two that had previously worked on it showed up and let me know that is should take about 30 minutes to complete. (30 minutes, I thought. you couldn't have just finished it last time you were here? But whatever, at least it will be done). So to cut to the chase, he did finish in about 30 minutes....running a circuit to a new refrigerator I have in the garage. A refrigerator that I explicitly told the estimator and the electricians had never even been plugged in and was not the problem! So now, after taking two days off work, plus the hassle of scheduling. Absolutely nothing is fixed. I was told that I can call the office to get it re-quoted to actually fix my problem. Yeah, right.. "fool me once..." If you are thinking of getting electrical work done, youtube it and do it yourself. If it is beyond your ability, hire anyone but these guys. The only thing that would have made the experience more appropriate would have been had they arrived in a clown car.. read more

Got my Nema 14-50 installed and some outdoor lighting. The process from getting a free estimate til the end was a breeze. Customer service was top-notch especially our assigned electrician. He explained everything and was very particular. The conduits were perfectly in place. The work done was pretty straightforward, and they were available on a holiday, Veteran's Day, so I didn't need to take a day off. Install communication was excellent. The electrician was friendly and polite. Yes, the cost was a little high, but you get what you pay for. I'll go the cheapest route for my cereal or toast, but not when someone's installing electrical 20' high in my house. The job will last 10+ years before a change - and maybe never change - so extra cost is irrelevant. I'm happy, and if I do other electrical work, I'll look to Vine Electric first. read more

Vine Electric did a beautiful job! VIne electric hooked up our 220V hot tub. Hector came on time and gave a very competitive quote. Hector was professional and even answered questions I had over the phone when I could not be present for the in home estimate. Jaime is the one who did the work and he did a beautiful job and kept the area neat and clean when done. The work was scheduled quickly with Rosa in their office and I was kept up to date in real time. We did have a minor hiccup when the actual work order was higher then the quote but Rosa resolved this with quickness and ease and was very professional.
