I worked with Eric who helped me figure out a full day of fun for our group that ranged in age from 6 to 70+. He and Michael arrived at our lodging location right at 8am with the van nice and toasty for the cold fall morning. They greeted us with welcoming, friendly smiles, setting the tone for the day ahead. The van has high ceilings and a step so that entering and exiting is easy. Eric's knowledge of Vermont is extensive. He filled the time of the very scenic car ride pointing out interesting sights, such as maple tubes running through the woods to collect maple from the trees, and teaching us the history of Vermont and farm life. We visited Bragg Maple Farm, Cold Hollow Cider Mill which included lunch and a wine tasting at Boyden Valley Winery shop, the Cabot store, Lake Champlain Chocolates store, Ben and Jerry's Factory, the Gold Brook covered bridge, and the Von Trapp Lodge. It started snowing during the day, which was an added bonus as some of us had never experienced snow before. We had a really fun time and have great family photos from the day. The tour felt rushed, unorganized, and unprepared. At each stop, the guides had to go in and order everything when we arrived, so we waited around, and by the time we finally got our cider, wine, or liquor, it was already time to leave. We were told there would be cheese boards, but our group of ten got a single small charcuterie plate to share and nothing else. At each stop we also heard the actual tasting prices -- $6 at the distillery and $10 at the cider place -- which made us question what we were really paying for. We could have done the same tour ourselves for about $30 per person. The guides were very friendly, but overall the experience didn't match the cost or expectations.

Hiring Burlington Trolley Tours for our son's 4th birthday turned out better than we could have…read moreimagined! Hannington was the most gracious partner in planning this special day (he picked us and all of my son's friends up at our home and took us to our favorite playground so we could get our ya-yas out for an hour and then we reboarded to come home). Hannington hung balloons and decorations inside the trolley and played some of my son's favorite music. We were able to serve birthday treats, snacks, and seltzers/juice boxes on board. We took the brew tour in Burlington last Sunday and we had a great time! Ours was a bit of an…read moreunorthodox tour, as the tour bus had some issues that day (happens). City tours called us and warned us of the problem and delay which was fine, as we were being picked up at our hotel. They resolved the problem quickly and our guide was there and ready to go within 15 minutes of the originally scheduled time. Our guide Lauren was fantastic! She handled the mishap with grace and without skipping a beat. City tours had to have Ubers take us from brewery to brewery which worked out perfectly fine in the end. On to the tour itself, we were a smaller group, which I loved! We stopped at 4 locations and we sampled A LOT of beer. (I don't understand the reviews saying you barely get 3 drinks because by the end of it my husband and I could barely drink the last beers) We got behind the scenes tours at 2 of the breweries. Goodwater was my personal favorite. Lauren gave us a phenomenal history lesson along the way, which I fully nerded out to. All in all, it was a really fun experience that both, my husband and I, would recommend trying!

This is an amazing place to see sweeping views of the beautiful mountains and Lake Champlain. I imagine it would also be worth checking out at sunset. This is also a great spot for budding photographers. There is a small parking lot here, plus a couple of picnic tables. I'd say this is a must do for first time visitors to this fabulous city!
