Agree with previous comments regarding issues with shipping and customer service. I placed an order on June 6th for a purchase of over $400. I was not sent a confirmation email for the entire order. I received two items roughly 1.5 weeks later, and never received tracking for the rest. I emailed customer service, then called on June 23rd to be told that there was an issue with my order, and the rest of it was sitting in a warehouse. The representative assured me that she would expedite the order to me, but I still have not a tracking email nor the shipment itself. On the phone with customer service again now.... definitely the last time I will order for them. read more

Spent $290 on clothes, but despite that they wasted 23 min of my time, with my getting "no" to solving my issue that ultimately involved crediting me back about $7. Had to escalate 2x and speak with 3 diff levels of customer service for that. Company clearly has not learnt where it should spend its time. You've got a select clientele due to pricing. If you think you can afford to piss them off and waste their time, I will take my business to Amazon and Nordstrom. And they told me I could return my items as I had threatened! Preppie clothing so if you are heading out to Charleston, SC for a visit, be sure to stop by Vineyard Vines or just want to play preppy, this is your store! Best part of this Georgetown location was the associates - they were all helpful and greeted us when we checked in. The Galleria store in Tyson's called this store for me to hold the right size of the British khaki pant I wanted (excellent customer service there as well). Otherwise, I would not have gone here because parking is always tough in Georgetown and I really did not want to make the trip here because I work in DC and I simply did not want to be near the place on my off days. Glad I did this time - not only did I get the Khaki pant I like but also had a pleasant experience. Thanks to the awesome staff at this location. And since we were already in Georgetown anyway, paid for parking and all, subsequently, we decided to stop by the Georgetown cupcakes and bought a half dozen in a variety of flavors - and they were all yummy! read more

If you're someone who likes prep gear and enjoys wearing critters on your pants, then this store is for you. Inside of the ship motif is a plethora of colors that will please the eye and remind you of a warm spring day. Go a little deeper into the store and the women's section will treat you to more colors, designs, linens, and other fabrics. Now...the price...Nantucket ain't cheap and neither is Vineyard Vines. But you do get some items that you won't find elsewhere - particularly if you're a tie whore like I am. Top it off - going to a great school that isn't very well known doesn't always allow you to find the right schwag for the place but VV amazingly had Vanderbilt ties that met my fancy. I'm a fan of Vineyard Vines. So sue me. They make great ties, great pocket squares, and great polo shirts. They also do a fair amount of custom work, offering custom designs for my alma mater that I proudly wear, as well as a custom tie for the City Tavern Club which I'm a member of. It's also a product that my friends in California would gladly punch me in the stomach for wearing if they saw me. Vineyard Vines tends to be a real insider luxury brand for those that regularly visit Nantucket or Martha's Vineyard. Their ubiquotous whale logo is a symbol for Georgetown preppiness. The Vineyard Vines store on Wisconsin Avenue is designed to look like a ship. As I've pointed out on my review of Long John Silvers, I appreciate construction in a nautical theme. This high ceilinged, airy store features the full line of Vineyard Vines wear, including a huge variety of their ties. It's nice to have a centralized location to buy VV wear, and I think the design of the store really captures the Nantuckety vacation atmosphere the brand tries to capture with their clothes. read more

There is no paperwork with the other item. The other item I received appeared to be mine but can't tell at this point because there is no UPC tag on it. This is the very first Vineyard Vines store I've ever been to and I've continued to shop here for the past five years. Before ever stepping foot into a store, I always bought everything online, but it is worth the drive to Georgetown if you are anywhere in the DC area and don't want to fight for parking in Tyson's. The sales staff here is so friendly and helpful! I have never been disappointed with my shopping experience here. The store is colorful, cute, and pretty big. There is a large selection of clothing and if they don't have in in their store they will gladly call another one and ship it to your house for FREE! If you haven't shopped in Vineyard Vines, don't think twice. The clothing isn't the cheapest out there but it is worth your time shopping, your money, and you're going to pay for excellent customer service and very high quality clothing! read more

Absolutely love this store. So unique and creative in its own way with many souvenirs and notes/letters from White House officials. The store is completely stocked and comes with a charging, lounge, beverage seating area. The staff was helpful and so nice to speak with. I purchased a really cute cosmetic case as well as a visor. I really recommend getting your loved one a gift from here or visiting this store in DC because you can see thank you letters from past Presidents and/or prestigious cabinet members. read more

This review is not for any specific store, but rather their online shopping experience. In a word pitiful. I started buying gift cards at Vineyard Vines since my niece is a fan. One day while I was picking up a card in the Charleston, SC store I took a look around at the merchandise. Being a Connecticut/Boston person I gravitate to the preppy look and picked up a few things, but in general thought that the prices were pretty steep. When I got the email for Friends and Family I thought I'd take a look. Ordered three items on the 6th of the month. Didn't get a confirm email until the 9th. On the 18th I called to see where the order was. They told me they take extra care to verify credit cards (????) so maybe that was the hold up. Rep kept saying it will ship when we assign a shipment number (duh), finally puts me on hold and says her supervisor says this order has sat for a long time so they will ship it out the next morning. Next morning I get an email that one of my items is out of stock. Probably because it took 13 days to even look at the order. Two days later no shipment. I call at 9 am. They tell me they are sorry but they had a big promotion and it's hard to fill all the orders (wow). At this point I am going out of town and don't want it sitting on the porch so I cancel the whole thing. Next day at 4:30pm I get a shipment notice. Package arrives and sits on my porch for three days and gets all wet. I get back home and call. They're sorry. They can't re-ship because some of the items I got are now out of stock. I can return the ones that got soaked to the store. Awesome. I really wanted to have to call them three times, send two emails that got ZERO response, and then have to drive to a store to make a return. Rep is sooooooo sorry. She will definitely have a supervisor call me. Right. Still waiting for the call. Needless to say the overpriced clothes and awful service = never shop there again. I will echo the posts on the online shopping and customer service. I have NEVER EVER HAD such an experience, which would be funny, if it was not sad. I placed online order on Aug 26 - 2 sweaters and 1long sleeve tee. I'm between S and M, depending on the brand. Ordered all items S. Received order 4 days later- nicely packed, quality excellent, size- too big and baggy. Packed everything and returned with exchange into XS. Waited 12 days, no package or confirmation email about received items. Called to customer service, the girl was very nice. Unfortunately they didn't have the long sleeve tee XS. That's ok, placed a new order for 2 items and requested a return for the tee. Received an order of 2 items in a few days. Tried them on- again- too baggy and big. I have never wore XXS in my life, but had to sent them back in return to XXS. Waited 1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks - no confirmation email, nothing, nada.. AFTER 1 MONTH- called them ( so much patience!!), asking what's the matter. Rep Oscar could not find the reason, why it happened. He himself placed the new order. Again no confirmation emails. Called them back in 1 week. No normal answer from Oscar - on the papers, everything looks fine with the order and the payment. This time I requested to send me the confirmation email immediately, otherwise I would need to speak to supervisor. Finally NOVEMBER 2nd- my order is on the way. Today is Nov 7th - I finally received my order!!! what a lucky day! I opened it up- only 1 item... Are you joking???? It's pathetic.. The staff were very friendly and so helpful, unlike any retail experience I've had in recent years. They knew exactly where the item was that I was looking for, walked me to it, and kindly let me know about a sale they were having. I also observed that they treated other customers in this excellent manner as well. Additionally they had the NCAA tournament on and the store was so nice! This is not pertaining to this store in general but it's pertaining to their online shopping: Shopping from here has been so awful. I ordered a polo t-shirt on March 22 for $67.23 and the polo was really nice but it was a gift and I got a size to big. We went to return it by mail about 2 weeks after we got it. Two weeks went by and we never received anything via mail or email that the shirt was returned and we would get a refund or an exchange. So then I contacted this company via email, no reply. I contacted this company through a live chat and they said they received the shirt but nothing was being exchanged. So she ordered me a new shirt with the size I wanted. I got an email 2 days later saying that shirt was out of stock and that's it. There was nothing stating that I would get a refund or if I could get a different shirt. So then the next day I called and the lady said she would have to wait until management got in the next day in order to process my request to get a refund and that it would be 3-5 days until I got my refund, if I got one. So here I am still waiting for my refund that I will probably have to call back to get. The whole time I have dealt with this (a month from ordering the shirt), each person kept saying to me that they did not have an email system. Which seems a little bit odd for being such a big company and no email system. All's I want is my refund back onto my credit card and I won't be ever buying from here again. read more

This is a nice boutique shop in Georgetown right on Wisconsin near M. The staff is very helpful (as they should be for the price tags in here). They sell ultra preppy. You can tell that the merchandise is quality. Sometimes its worth spending more for something that will last longer and is virtually timeless. LOVE IT. This style is quintessential East Coast, I live on the West Coast, but I guess have a little preppy in me.

I consider myself rather bohemian, but for some reason am drawn to preppy clothing. I think it's the bright colors and A line silhouettes. Anyhow, my husband now makes fun when the little pink whale sticker appears in our house and notes the little whales on just about everything I own. What can I say, Vineyard Vines just fits very well. The cords fit like a dream, the sweaters are great and the summer dresses can't be beat. And the quality is good--this stuff lasts. Would I dress head to toe with a visor? Of course not! (Though I've come close). As to in store versus online shopping--both are easy and I've done both but go in and try it on if you can. While the fit is great once you get it, the sizing is not always consistent and you may need to try a few sizes. Also, online returns (especially after a promotion) have often required a follow up call from me to usher through. I think they get a bit swamped, so keep track. The same promotions seem to be honored both in store and online. The Georgetown store has a good selection and besides the cheery greeting the employees are pretty hands off unless you ask for help, which I like. There is water, bathroom, couches, tv--that is FANTASTIC. There used to be a toy basket for kids that mine made a beeline for, but it has been removed for hygiene reasons. Still, very child friendly. Last they offer a student and a military discount, which I appreciate. Have I mentioned the boxers and ties make great presents for the man in your life? And you can give him a little pink whale sticker too. read more

I should have read these reviews about the online shopping experience before placing my order. I ordered a shirt for my son-in-law which arrived in the wrong size...not my error. I have been on hold today for over 1 hour. And the recording keeps coming on telling me to sit back, relax, kick my feet and enjoy the good life. Sorry, but it is 1 week before Christmas and I don't have time to do this. Somehow Vineyard Vines has completely missed the boat on customer service in today's market. Considering the prices, you would expect someone to pick up at least after a 10 min. wait. This would never happen with Brooks Brothers, LL Bean and every other store where I have placed an online order. Fortunately, there is a store here in Pittsburgh where I can just take it back and receive immediate credit. We ordered Christmas pajamas for the entire family on December 9. They never arrived. We were charged over $400 and we can not reach Vineyard Vines for a refund. They do not respond to emails. Customer Service Agents ask us to hold and then never come back on the line. They ask you to hold and then disconnect after 30 minutes. It is a shame. The clothes are really cute but they are not honoring their commitments to their customers. Chubbies is a much better company with arguably cuter and cooler clothing. read more

I am rating their online service and it is horrible!!!! I purchased a Christmas ornament at full price and the next day the item went on sale. Their website says they will do price adjustments within 10 days. I called customer service and waited on hold for 20 minutes before speaking with someone; not happy about this. The rep pulled up my order and stated that because the item had not yet been shipped out she could not do the price adjustment. I incorrectly assumed she would monitor my account and once she saw the item had been shipped out make the adjustment to my account. After a week and no credit to my AMEX, I called customer service again and was on hold for 35 minutes. I was totally ticked off and hung up and sent out an email - surprise, still no response! That is ridiculous!!!! So, I did want the item so I just re-boought it at the sale price and will return the full priced one. I also did not meet the amount for free shipping so added an extra item for free shipping and that will be returned! The item will be returned to a local store, so I called and told the manager what I was going to be doing. She gave me some garbage about them being a new company and they didn't anticipate the high demand. She was OK with what I was going to do. However, if I run into problems, I can easily dispute it with my credit card company. It's funny, but I replaced the order and it was sent out within a few days and here I been waiting for a price adjustment for over two weeks! 1) BEWARE Don't buy online Gift Cards/any products. 2) They Lie/are not trained well to give the right information. 3) Totally un-cooperative. Thus, The customer service is awwwwwful. I bought a gift card [$100] for my friend who's birthday is on April 29th, Sunday, online. Here's what happened exactly: a) Friday 28th April [day time] I called and placed an order for this gift card to be delieverd to his house. As i wanted it to be delivered anyhow by Sunday I took an extra effort and called them personally. The representative assured me that It will be shipped on the same day (Friday) and will not reach on Sunday as its a weekend, but will definitely reach on Monday [lie]. b) Saturday [morning] I called to know the status as i didn't received any shipping confirmation. The representative told that it didn't shipped as it will ship on Monday because to process gift cards it takes time!! I said cancel it, I will go myself to the shop and buy it for him because I am misinformed and its not fair. She said cancel done [lie] and you will get the refund. c) On Saturday went to the Westfield Mall store, bought a $100 gift card myself. d) On Monday I got the shipping confirmation email of the gift card. I was surprised. I called them and then talked to Megan(in co-operate office). She said it wasn't cancelled because once the order is placed it can't be cancelled!!! So I explained her the above points. She said will tell UPS to re route the package and will inform me on Tuesday and will give the refund. e) On Tuesday she called and told me she was unable to re-route the package as it already on its way. [it will be delivered] But because of all these hassles as a courtesy I can still use the card and $100 on it [lie]. I was happy with the service because all this waste of time is compensated. [Its not new for me that some company is good like this, as I am a very frequent shopper on Amazon and they do this all the time. Their customer service is outstanding, they should learn something form them]. f) On May 11th we went to the store and tried to purchase products with the cards. But the one I shopped online didn't worked. It was such an embarrassment because we need to keep some shirts outside as the amount was less. g) I called them today, May 12th. When called customer service they are just focussed on the refund and not the pain i went through for a simple gift card. As Ms. Megan did all this and works in co-operate office, they directed me there. She wasn't available and no one is ready to track calls and ascertain why so many lie's has been told to me. Note: 1) Wether its customer service or co-operate the supervisors are not available as they don't want to hear anything I believe. 2) In the store when the card didn't worked, the guy said well you can talk with customer service, they are open 24 hours. They don't know about their company!! It closes at 9 dude. 3) When I called them on May12th customer service, the representative said they can't help, only co-operate office can help because meghan works there, the customer service said the co-operate is closed, so call them on Monday. I said I can't trust this people and I called and the co-operate office, and it was open!! I said I am going in circles and i can't wait for Ms. Meghan to arrive i don't know when. So the representative told me that anyone in the co-operate office can help surely [lie]. No one did and supervisors are enjoying holiday. 4) Trick played: When Meghan told me that you can use the card she never mentioned that there is a procedure of activation. So when the package arrives its written inside, to call the customer service to activate the card only then you can use it, for security purposes. [I asked my friend nothing was written like that, it was just the card; poor shipping]. [The activation process is confirmed to me by Ms. Tuandra in customer service]. So if Maeghan wanted me to really use that card she would have asked me the card number and activated it. So either she doesn't know or just want to embarrass me!! This is not fair at all. After these 4 lie's/incapable of knowing whats the right information/helping customers, I am very sure I am never gonna buy anything from here. For the refund I am never concerned because the banks are pretty good in these matters but what builds a relationship between a customer and a company is how you tackle the situation and how fair you are. I get lots of emails from Shep and Ian...but never a response to a single email inquiry about my order. I returned a shipment using their prepaid Vineyard Vines UPS label, a copy of the original order, and the original Vineyard Vines box. Five weeks after the company received my order (confirmed by UPS shipping) they had not credited my credit card. I finally called and they were well aware of the return and credited my card same day. WATCH YOUR CREDIT CARD if you do a return. They do not automatically give you the money back. In this automated age, with orders scanned in and out, that is completely unacceptable. read more
