What a great find! We happened up VIney's while looking for a quick lunch stop on a road trip. We got stuffed veggie pizza and an order of wings with the housemade curry. The curry sauce was super flavorful, and the wings hot and fresh. A must! The medium stuffed veggie pizza is easily ample enough for multiple meals. The dough was deep dish style but flakey and soft. As usual, out of town working, today in in a small called Sonora, yes just like the town in Mexico same name. This town though, up in the mountains, passing lakes and rivers. Ordered their largest cheese pizza and it was around $20 bucks....! That's the best deal around for authentic tasting pizza that isn't cardboard with imitation cheese. We were so pleased with the cheese pizza, that we ordered from the regular menu the next time and we're not disappointed! The Spaghetti and meatball was fantastic. Today we were in the area and wanted to try this place out again for lunch. Started with Sicilian salad then shared the beef ravioli. The owner was our waitress. She was very friendly. All their food is homemade and you can taste it. They have been open for a year and just joined up with Yelp recently. Since the majority of the family was craving Italian food, we decided to give them a chance. Oh. My. The food totally hit the spot. I had the spinach and cheese calzone. The cheese was delicious, the crust was lightly brushed with butter, garlic and salt. There was a proper balance of spinach to cheese. The side of marinara sauce was delicious, sweet and just right (and I'm not a tomato sauce person. That's how yummy it is) My hubby was very satisfied with the meatball sammich (and approved of my calzone). The kids had the pizza. The service was friendly and very attentive. I give this 4 stars first of all because we went to the diamondback grill first and stood there for almost 5 minutes waiting for anyone to acknowledge that we existed and a restaurant that only had three tables filled and two servers. Not to mention the fact that they had signs and I could hear the service repeating that the new California law has caused them to upcharge $2 for any dish with bacon. Not that I have a problem with recuperating losses. But there's a way to go about it it's much more professional than that. And I definitely didn't hear that from Viney's. Our server April was friendly, attentive, and went out of her way to give us what we needed. My husband's calzone was out of this world! My food however was not what I expected. The interesting thing is that when I expressed my opinion she actually contacted the owner to ask about the meal. It turns out that the new cook did not prepare it right. I was incredibly surprised and happily shocked to find out that she went that far in order to try to make sure my food was what I had asked and paid for. There's always growing pains when you get new staff. Her effort to see that I got exactly what I wanted and paid for was above and beyond. Yikes. Not enough sauce on our pasta, so it was pretty dry and lack luster. Their version of alfredo sauce is NOT alfredo, since traditionally it should not have garlic or cream in it, yet their Alfredo "sauce" is nothing but raw garlic and no actual sauce. It had so much undercooked garlic in it that my mouth was legit burning. We also witnessed some really bad examples of customer service and some rude management of staff, which made us uncomfortable, though all of the staff was friendly to us. As an Italian-American who grew up on pasta and loves alfredo sauce, this was an expensive and disappointing meal. read more

Friendly staff, but definitely a new business. Tried to call in an order and no one answered. Went in person and only two tables were seated--yet many staff were bustling around. Was told 30-40 minutes for two pizzas. Ordered a veggie pizza, and at payment time they couldn't find it on the screen so they made up a price. Come to find out I was overcharged by three dollars when the online receipt arrived. The veggies were decent, but the crust was both dark on top--yet undercooked inside. Also incredibly thick. The cheese pizza had crust like a Costco pizza (Soft, thick like bread), and the seasoning was not unlike a Little Caesars. Paid $41 with tip for the same satisfaction I get from frozen pizza. All in all a sub-par experience, but I'll give the clazone a shot one of these days--they look far superior. One star pizza. Second star for friendly staff. read more

If you want to eat food that you can cook better at home, you found the place. I ordered the shrimp scampi. I make shrimp scampi at home better than they do. Maybe I should go and cook for them? And don't forget the dessert--if you get cheesecake, expect your slice of cheesecake to be half a slice, and don't expect the cheesecake to be anything more than that fake no-bake kind that is as soft as whip cream rather than the thicker traditional cheesecake. My boyfriend and I came to eat here while we were in town. It's self-serve seating so you get to choose where you want to sit which I liked. It was a pretty slow night when we went probably only about 5-6 other groups were there. I had a small cheese baked ziti, it came with a piece of garlic bread. I was afraid that the small wasn't going to be enough but it was surprisingly filling. My boyfriend had the calzone which also seemed small considering he eats a lot but we both were satisfied with our portions. For dessert, we ordered the Tiramisu which was the only thing we struggled to finish. Overall we had a really good experience, the waitstaff was nice and helpful.
