Found this spot on our way back home was craving steak so hubby found this place while I was driving easy to find and plenty of parking. Really cute spot I love the decor and the vibes very chill and laid back. We were greeted as we walked in and were able to pick anywhere to sit. Our waiter was amazing she was very attentive and gave us some recommendations on sushi and that was delicious perfect kick of spiciness. Our food came out pretty quick and man it was all so good very flavorful dipping sauces the amount of food was perfect the appetizers were awesome love the calamari crunch and spicy edamame was great. Update!!! I tried something different than the Dynamite or Lobster King Roll (well we had to throw in the dynamite) but I got something else and oh my lanta it was GOOD!!! We decided to split the dynamite roll as well as the shrimp fried rice, and filet mignon plate and OMG that steak was cooked to perfection the rice was soooo good and the shrimp was deeelish!!! Service was wonderful they are all SO sweet!! And they are this nice every single time which is awesome! They should be very proud, consistency is key and with the constant 5/5 service is wonderful! Never had "Hibachi" this bad...very disappointed because the food looked really good and the reviews were decent 4.5. Left the cook the following suggestions: 1. Ensure you bring out the food hot, my ribeye and lobster hibachi plate was very cold unfortunately and I had to send it back. 2. Ensure you add more flavor to the hibachi as a whole. While it looked presentable there was very little flavor... vegetables were plain steamed...rice tasted like Costco rice that you microwave. 3. Ensure you get good quality meat. That was the toughest "ribeye" steak I ever had. Wait staff and service was excellent, but do to poor food quality I would not recommend. Subpar for sure. read more

The restaurant is decorated with some Japanese paintings and red lanterns. I am a sucker for edemame so thats a must. I am also a fan of their king kong roll. My husband has wanted to go here for awhile, so we went the Saturday before Mother's Day. You'd think with the rodeo in town, they might have been busier than they were (though they seem to have a fair amount of take out). That might have signaled something as far as expectations. The decor was pretty basic and not really what you would expect for a Japanese steakhouse...the decor looks more like a breakfast diner. They serve only wine and beer, no cocktails. Service staff were friendly enough. Our meals came with miso soups and a salad, the latter of which had an orange dressing (maybe French), not the sesame ginger you might expect. Our entrees came fairly promptly, yet lacked the white rice and fried rice sides that were supposed to accompany the main dishes. I'd say the rice didn't come until a good 10 minutes after the main entrees arrived. People in our party were trying to eat slowly (to buy time for the rice to arrive), though that meant our food was getting colder. All the hibachi entrees came with a few bonus shrimp. The meat was tasty enough and came with an orange sauce and a brown (sesame ginger) sauce for dipping. Don't come here expecting a teppanyaki table or to see your meal cooked on hibachi at your actual table...all the items are cooked out of view, in the kitchen. The experience was sort of 'meh' for me, but my husband had a slightly more favorable opinion. I have other restaurants I'd prefer returning to, before this one. read more

The service was Greathouse it wasn't too busy on a Wednesday afternoon our entire meal was serviced at one time with two servers which felt nice with the whole meal coming at once. This is a cool place. The room is clean and has a bit of a strip mall vibe, but not offensive at all. Service is decent. Our server seemed intent on socializing with coworkers - which wasn't too bad of an issue, but led to slower refills and just a bit of a gap between what would be really good service - eg: I had to go get our check and pay up front - it wasn't egregious, and I'm sure he would have got to us, but the gap was enough - and he wasn't in the weeds - just standing 8 feet from our table chatting. The food is good, not great. We both had. Filet and lobster. The steak lacked seasoning and was a bit over cooked. The lobster was a bit over cooked as well. Again, still a really good meal - just not quite a "wow". The prices are great for what you get - filet and lobster for $38 including sides, soup and salad is fantastic value. - buzz kill - they charge a credit card surcharge of 3%. Just stop it. Make your menu prices correct and don't nickel and dime your customers. Overall, we will probably go back - the good outweighs the bad. I was at CVS a few doors down after work and a tantalizing aroma was wafting out of this place. I decided to pop in and found it was the hibachi I was smelling! However once I started looking at the menu I was torn. The sushi looked pretty good and I hadn't had any in some time so I ordered two rolls: Forever 21 and Lobster King. They were both very tasty!! I was also pleasantly surprised by the quality and freshness of the seafood being up in the foothills! I will be returning to try more of the menu next time I'm in the neighborhood. It is not the "usual" steakhouse dark, wood theme environment. It is a clean, wide open bright, casual seating place to eat. I ordered the Kobe Trio (Ribeye, Shrimp, Scallops), bacon fried rice (Yep, bacon... a slight up charge, but worth it). My medium rare was spot on as were the scallops and shrimp. I'm giving them a little down tic on their veggies because several broccoli florets were yellow. I enjoyed my meal.... With cold sake, of course. The GG ordered a Dragon Roll and loved it. Well, not only did we eat there Tuesday, we went back today! The restaurant is decorated very sparse and clean. Everything is spotless, the service is fast and friendly, and there are just the right number of tables so the place is busy but you have room to be comfortable. The food is really yummy! We've tried a sushi roll, rib eye and shrimp, filet and chicken, and two different bento boxes. There is no salt on the tables, and no need -- everything of spiced nicely. We up charged to bacon fried rice, which is recommended! We order our beef rare and it came out just right every time. Takeaways: the meat portions for the price is a bit lacking on the hibachi plates. The price is the same as places that prepare the food in front of you. Appetizers are pricey -- 4 gyoza for $6 at our table. Bento boxes are priced affordably at about $22. We were up-charged $4 each for bacon fried rice. Will we go again? For sure! My daughter took me to lunch here the other day. First of all it was so nice and cool inside on such a hot day. We were greeted with friendly service. We ordered the miso, a side salad and the Forever 21 Roll. The miso was so delicious, thinly sliced green onions in it, the salad was fresh and nicely chilled and the roll was OUTSTANDING! We are so stoked to have some fresh tasting sushi here in Sonora. It will save our family the drive to Modesto. A couple of the owners came out and spoke with us. Diego and Jake, both locals.
