The Dynamite Roll ( 炸药卷 ), the Lobster King Roll ( 龙虾王卷 ), and the Mini Spring Rolls with a sweet sauce. DELICIOUS
    Sarah B.

Update!!! I tried something different than the Dynamite or Lobster King Roll (well we had to throw in the dynamite) but I got something else and oh my lanta it was GOOD!!! We decided to split the dynamite roll as well as the shrimp fried rice, and filet mignon plate and OMG that steak was cooked to perfection the rice was soooo good and the shrimp was deeelish!!! Service was wonderful they are all SO sweet!! And they are this nice every single time which is awesome! They should be very proud, consistency is key and with the constant 5/5 service is wonderful! Love love love the atmosphere my favorite is how they always keep it nice and air conditioned when it gets hot and there is lots of space and areas to sit! Parking is good nearby and there are even some window seats, this place is a must try if you haven't been yet! Yum!!

Passing through town and we wanted something yummy. First time here. Nice restaurant with a casual feel. Lots of menu options, and our server was knowledgeable and very helpful in making our decision. Delicious hibachi Filet and Lobster. Hubby got his with bacon fried rice. Comes with miso soup and salad. The appetizer (Sexy Jalapeno) and Sushi were delicious. I do business in the area twice a month. I'll be back soon!

Food is always delicious . Kobe never disappoints! Staff is always super friendly and the other servers always check on you when your eating. The restaurant is decorated with some Japanese paintings and red lanterns. I am a sucker for edemame so thats a must. I am also a fan of their king kong roll. Today I got the trio - chicken, shrimp & steak. The steak was cooked to perfection. And the dinner plate was much too large for me to finish. My grandma got the filet mignon and lobster. She said it eas delicious and presentation was amazing. We had 2 bento boxes at the table both enjoyed. We love this restaurant the food is always great and the staff is always smiling

    Fried rice and sauces

My husband has wanted to go here for awhile, so we went the Saturday before Mother's Day. You'd think with the rodeo in town, they might have been busier than they were (though they seem to have a fair amount of take out). That might have signaled something as far as expectations. The decor was pretty basic and not really what you would expect for a Japanese steakhouse...the decor looks more like a breakfast diner. They serve only wine and beer, no cocktails. Service staff were friendly enough. Our meals came with miso soups and a salad, the latter of which had an orange dressing (maybe French), not the sesame ginger you might expect. Our entrees came fairly promptly, yet lacked the white rice and fried rice sides that were supposed to accompany the main dishes. I'd say the rice didn't come until a good 10 minutes after the main entrees arrived. People in our party were trying to eat slowly (to buy time for the rice to arrive), though that meant our food was getting colder. All the hibachi entrees came with a few bonus shrimp. The meat was tasty enough and came with an orange sauce and a brown (sesame ginger) sauce for dipping. Don't come here expecting a teppanyaki table or to see your meal cooked on hibachi at your actual table...all the items are cooked out of view, in the kitchen. The experience was sort of 'meh' for me, but my husband had a slightly more favorable opinion. I have other restaurants I'd prefer returning to, before this one.

    Rib Eye

Tried the ribeye this time. I give it an 8 out of 10. I would get it again. Place is pretty good. It's a go to on the way or on the way back from Black Oak. Staff was super busy this time, maybe short handed? Our server was hustling tho. They didn't bring the roll I ordered till after my wife was done but they comped it. Great service. Be back soon

My fiancée and I took my dad for early Father's Day-it was our first time there. The rolls were HUGE and delicious, the restaurant was clean, the service was great-Ashley S was our server and she was attentive and nice. We'll definitely be going back

    Anita T.

Pros: Super friendly service! Prices are reasonable! And everything was tasty. Hibachi side of filet mignon is 14. Fried rice was huge for the price and done really well. Kids enjoyed shrimp hibachi meal. Plenty of parking in big shopping center lot. Near hotels in Sonora. Cons: Store is pretty basic, bright fluorescent lights, counter, plenty of seating. Not one for decor. Some of the rolls are very similar- we got the lobster king Roll and red headed girl roll and both had same sauces and very similar ingredients. Still glad to have this option here on our way to skiing .

    Spicy tuna roll

This place has fresh ingredients and decent size servings. The rolls were a tasteful size my 11yr old daughter and I each order one roll each and with an appetizer of edamame we were stuffed. The service was Greathouse it wasn't too busy on a Wednesday afternoon our entire meal was serviced at one time with two servers which felt nice with the whole meal coming at once. We already know we will be back to try more options.

Our very happy Birthday Girl enjoying 2 different Sushi roll entrees.

Upon entering we were greeted and invited to sit anywhere. I went with my husband, though there wasn't a lot of two top seats, we made ourself comfortable in the corner. Staff was friendly, though i'm not sure why even have 3 wait staff on when patrons put in the order themselves on paper. waitress just grabs and goes. I enjoy having conversation and feeling taken care of at a restaurant, this provides a disconnect and makes things off putting. Menu does not have prices. This is concerning as a patron and dissolves the little trust built. Taro Ube Boba was amazing, although the consistency of the boba was starting to get gummy. it was towards the end of the day, and happens at most restaurants. 5/5 We ordered the octopus balls and were accidentally given the gyoza - it was pleasant. Although seemed to be a bit watery from the boiling process. However nothing to write home about. This item was not on the final bill. 3/5 octopus balls had nice flavor. those unfamiliar may complain about the strong fish but that is how the dish is prepared. I wish it was prepared with a firmer cook, as it basically disintegrates the moment it enters your mouth. I believe the correct cook should allow you to take a single bite without it collapsing. 3/5 pork belly ramen: a single piece of overcooked and grey pork belly. Dry as the desert. all items seemed to be purchased from savemart next door. the single redeeming item in the entire bowl was the marinated shiitake mushrooms. 2/5 the most unfortunate part of our meal was the poke bowl. incredibly regrettable with zero redeeming qualities. i specifically beg everyone not to order the shrimp. This must have been a 91 count. Tasted like a wet freezer. Gave my husband and I the heebie jeebies. -10/5 i'd be embarrassed to serve this at my restaurant. I am a huge asian food enthusiast and that's why I beg everyone to avoid this place. There's a sign on the wall saying it's been rated top 100 Ramen spots in california. that is either some crazy joke or they are number 100.

Some things to note, highly encourage reservation ahead of time. We got there an hour before closing on a Sunday and even though there was a table open they almost didn't seat us. It is small on the inside with limited tables so I would not say it's great for groups. They stop serving about 30 minutes before the posted closing time and don't make exceptions. We ended up ordering a Jenni role which had tofu/cream cheese/cucumber inside and avocado/panko/doke sauce outside and it was seriously amazing. Although there were only two veggie roll options on the menu I could easily eat two of this roll alone. Things only got better with the curry. I assumed the curry was going to be Japanese style, but they are actually more thai style yellow and panang curry options. Unfortunately the Udon and Ramen dishes are not vegetarian as they are made with fish broth. But the yellow curry was perhaps the best yellow curry we've ever had (and we are a bit of curry snobs). The sauce was lighter than a traditional thai yellow curry and it had a delicious sweet finish. The veggies were tasty and fresh. When we come back to Murphys I will certainly be going for this curry again. I do wish they had a few more vegetarian options, but very glad the ones they do are outstanding.

When we arrived, we dropped off a cake and candle at the front counter and told them it was a surprise birthday cake and asked if they would be able to set up and bring it out once we finish our dinner. They said "yes". We do this all the time with other restaurants and have never had any issues. Normally, cake is brought out and candle that we provide is lit. Some restaurants even go as far as singing happy birthday. We finished our food and sat there for a while waiting for the server, Dolly, who was nowhere to be found. So we started stacking our plates to the side to get ready for the cake. When we finally saw her, we whispered to her that we were ready for the surprise cake. She went back into the kitchen and came out with the cake still in the box and candles still in the package and says out loud "here's your birthday cake" in front of the whole party. We asked her if they had a lighter and lit the candles ourselves. We sang Happy Birthday and enjoyed our cake next to our dirty dishes from our dinner that still have not been collected. A previous time eating here, my friend ordered takeout for her husband after we dined in. My friend lives in a different city. By the time she got home, she realized that 1 of 2 of what she ordered was missing. She called and told her she wasn't going to drive back but they were kind enough to comp her next meal. They said they can come back when she's back in town again to pick up a voucher. When she went to pick up the voucher, 2 other people were there picking up vouchers for missing orders too. Apparently, it's a common thing that happens. The food itself is decent and price is reasonable for what you're getting. However, the service is horrible from my handful of experiences here.

They have always had friendly servers and chefs- which we've always enjoyed. It's clean. Sometimes we sit at the bar and watch the chef and it's been nice over the years. However-- we've been keen on sitting by the fish tanks recently because they are soooo beautiful you can tell someone has put love into them. The food is pretty good, but can be mayo heavy with lack of creativity aka lemon slices in sushi(wt?) Negative part- the three times we'd been there in the last two months we have noticed a change for the worse. Recently- While sitting at the bar the old chef (maybe new owner?) slams things around angrily and cusses at staff, on one occasion almost two months ago we watched him raise his fist up as if he was wanting to strike a team member. As a customer I'm am in shock this is something that is normal(?) here now and I want everyone to know this before going in trying to enjoy a meal and all you get is an uncomfortable mediocre meal. Needless to say we just bring sushi in with us on our way into town instead of visiting this spot while at our vacation home. SHAME ON OKO for harboring such a toxic chef or whatever he is... if he's the owner he should just step back because working with other people or customers clearly ain't his thing.
