I have gone to VN for the past 5 years! Everyone there is A-MAZING for so many reasons! 1) They keep your own kit of supplies 2) Super clean 3) Super friendly 4) I get compliments on both my nails & toes on a daily basis 5) pedicure lasts me a solid 30 days 6) My pink & white fill is so natural and keeps my hang nails from ruining my life, lasting aprox 20 days! and 7) They have set the bar so high that I cringe if I have to go anywhre else. I visited this salon on a whim, but was very impressed by my experience so much that I'm willing to venture across town on a regular basis. Their service is excellent. They make sure you're happy and they don't try to upsell you hard like many other nail salons. I was a walk-in on a busy Saturday afternoon and I didn't wait more than five minutes for a chair. I also love how they really scrubbed my feet vs taking the lazy way out and using the callus remover to take off skin. My polish usually chips in a few days, but its been a week and I still have my polish looking good. I hope to return here soon. I had an appointment today, 6/26/19 @5:30pm. I arrived at 5:28pm. I signed in and told the lady I had an appointment at 5:30. At 5:35 another lady asked if she could help me and I told her a had an appointment at 5:30. She said someone would be with me soon. At 5:40 I asked if someone was going to help me and told her if not let me know and I would be okay with that. She said she's, and nodded at a nail tech, is almost finished. The person who she said was almost finished hadn't started polishing her client so that's not almost finished. There were 2 ladies working on one client. If they were interested in keeping my business one of them could have serviced me. I left at 5:45 pm. I would not recommend this place! read more

Initially, I was excited to discover Vining Nails. It's conveniently located in the area where I live, work, and play. From the onset of my patronage, I detected a very rude & prejudice attitude from the salon owner "Mom." Her demeanor was curt to say the least w/women of color; while she readily & happily greeted Caucasian customers. Originally, I thought I was being "over sensitive;" and re-evaluated my hypothesis. Sadly, this behavior was continuous and quite obvious. I watched the facial expressions and awkward eye contact of customers as they attempted to behave as though prejudicial behaviors (i.e. quickly snatching your credit card; placing it on the counter when the transaction was completed, yet handing the card back to white customers; becoming agitated when African American customers request only one service, constantly watching you, etc.) weren't taking place. The owner's lack of professionalism and ignorance has definitely staged the tone for the conduct of the establishment's employees. Recently, I scheduled a mani/pedi w/my fav tech Kaylie. Against my better judgement,I had continued my patronage of Vining Nails. I enjoyed Kaylie's services and professionalism, so I "overlooked" the owner's behavior. To my total shock and dismiss, Kaylie was completely rude & abrasive with me this past Saturday. My appt was scheduled for 3 pm, and I arrived about 10 mins early. I didn't mind waiting as Saturdays are typically busy for most establishments. I was asked if I would wait about 20 mins, so Kaylie could complete her current customer. If not, the next available tech would see me. I didn't mind the wait and agreed. About 15 mins later another customer comes in, and also requests Kaylie. She indicated she had an appt also. Her appt was for 2:30 pm. She still expected to be seen although she was 40 plus minutes late due to something at work. No one asked me if I would mind waiting for Kaylie to quickly change the customer's polish. After the customer made a huge stink about being told she'd have to wait due to tardiness, she had a fit. Thus, she was told she would be next in line. Upon speaking w/Kaylie about this, her demeanor became very nasty. She acted as though I didn't have the right to inquire about another customer being taken before me. More insulting was Kaylie's rushed & harsh handling of my scheduled mani/pedi. Typically, she's gentle & takes her time while working at a steady pace. Needless to say, this did not occur. Although the salon was very busy, I took great offense to "Mom" asking me midway through my services if someone else could finish the job, so Kaylie could work on another (white) customer. Keep in mind, I waited nearly an hr after my scheduled appt specifically for Kaylie. Several of the other techs were still working on customers who were receiving services prior to Kaylie beginning my mani/pedi. It baffles me as to why I was asked to allow someone else to complete my services when the same courtesy wasn't extended to me upon arriving early. When I stated "no" and expressed that I wanted Kaylie to finish the services, she & "Mom" became infuriated. Now starts the conversations in "their" language. To date (6 days later), my cuticles are completely split, sore, and severely peeling. In Kaylie's haste and fury, she managed to damage the cuticles on every finger. My hands look atrocious! I won't began to discuss the substandard pedi as this review is long enough. Lol I'm disgusted and disappointed, to say the least. Although Vining Nails has an upscale location, it's services and professionalism do not reside within the same zip code. read more

Great pedicure! I am a runner and my feet were pretty gross, but they made them all perty! I was pretty surprised. I also went there to get my eyebrows waxes for the first time ever. She was nice and they turned out fine, but probably because I was a first timer, my eyebrows were red for the next 24 hours. It's a week later and my feet still look nice! Great pedicure! They are super efficient but you don't feel rushed. I've never had to wait here and I usually come during my lunch hour - not sure what the weekends are like but I imagine crazy. They have an excellent selection of colors and everyone is friendly. The foot and leg massage is great - much better than other places I've been. The prices are VERY reasonable! read more

Absolutely hated it. I was in the salon for FOUR hours just for a mani and pedi. The service was TERRIBLE! The lady who did my nails kept cutting me with the drill then she smudged my toes while doing my nails. When they went to redo my toes they tried to put a different color polish that was on my toes and when I told them that wasn't right they insisted on trying to persuade me that I was wrong. I was going to get my eyebrows done but they couldn't even do a simple mani and pedi so I definitely wasn't letting them ANYWHERE near my face. I've been going to this nail salon for over 2 years but noticed that only when I get Lisa are my nails done well. A lot of the techs are rude and talk over you as if you aren't even there. The last time I was there the wait was over an hour and I got the newest technician. She used some sort of cuticle gel that literally burned some of the skin off of my fingers, she seemed to be very new at it as she cut my cuticles raw and did a crappy paint job. My nails were uneven and a mess. After going home and washing my hands several times to try and ease the burning, I called and demanded a refund, which I got after standing in the shop and complaining for about 25 minutes, I won't be back, sadly because it's convenient for me and right next door to my wax salon. read more

I have been a loyal client of Vinings Salon for many years now, and I can only say great things about my experiences. The experience is unlike any other salon that I have ever visited. The girls are friendly, and it's a really cool, relaxing atmosphere...as it should be. The location is convenient to everything, including Cumberland mall, restaurants and it literally takes about a minute to get there from 285, pending traffic of course :). I love Vinings Salon, in fact, I have recently moved, and refuse to go anywhere else, so I drive from Cumming! Love it! read more

Loved almost everything about this place. What kept me from giving all 5 stars is that they are a bit pricey. I had a gel powder overlay on already and wanted a new set. To take my previous overlay off was $5, acrylic full set was $28 (gel would've been $35), to shape them in the coffin style was $7 (which wasn't told to me prior to getting them shaped), & then for gel polish it's an additional $20.. Twenty dollars. Regular polish would've been included. In their defense, my tech did a pretty amazing job & accommodated my pickiness when it comes to painting my nails. But since I'm new to the area I'm going to try another shop before I decide if I'm coming back. read more

After trying out many nail shops in the area, I found Vinings Nails. I have been getting my nails done there for many years now and many friends have started going there as well! The technicians are always welcoming and knowledgeable about how to best take care of your nails. It helps to make an appointment or call ahead. The fact that they are often busy just means that it is a popular place!!! The chairs and utensils are always clean and the polish lasts a long time. New to Vinings and am happy to say that this is now my home salon. The girls did a GREAT job on my mani/pedi and they were reasonably priced. My technician took her time and cleaned up my nail beds and gave me her full attention. I'm not a talker so it was nice that she didn't force that uncomfortable banter that sometimes happens and she immediately made me feel comfortable and at ease. I was excited that they had paraffin and totally took advantage! Great color selection and overall, I was very pleased with my experience. Went here for the first time to get a polish change. Price was $7 for acrylic and $20 for gel. Service was mediocre but I like my nails.

This is the first nail place that I have been to that has you wait the full 2 mins under the lights for a gel polish...and it works! I get at least 14 days out of my gel manicure. I've tried other place and get about 10 days... The girls are nice and speak decent English which is nice. The only reason it didn't get all 5 stars is because it often takes an 1hour 1/2 of a pedi/mani with gel polish. I'd rather be in and out! read more

Not your typical nail salon..these girls speak perfect English, and they do an awesome job! Not only are they quick without the feeling of being rushed, but the job is perfect in the end..I've been to many nail salons around Atlanta and this is the best by far..they also have this Axxium Gel Polish where you have perfectly polished nails that lasts for two weeks minimum! If you like that perfect fake look without the drilling then this is the place to go! read more

Not impressed. I went in around 2 pm for a basic manicure and polish which was nicely priced at $12. When I walked in there were four technicians on staff. One was sitting at a manicure table, one was giving a pedicure to an off duty employee, and two were sitting in pedicure chairs eating and messing around on their phones. I was hardly greeted, asked what I needed, told to pick a color and then stood there to wait while they argued in another language who was going to do my nails. The woman that drew the short straw was obviously uninterested but did it anyway. Although the actual work was well done, I kind of felt like I was invading their personal time. Parking can be a nightmare because of the other businesses next door and they are closed on Sundays. I think I'm going to go back to my regular place there where they are always happy to see me. read more

I have been here a few times over the years due to convenience, as I live walking distance from the salon. I have always had decent service but nothing spectacular. Last week I walked in to get a gel manicure polish change on my lunch break. This typically takes an average of 30-40 minutes in most nail salons. The nail tech I had took 1 hour & 10 minutes! That is ludicrous! She did not introduce herself so I don't know her name, but she is young with blonde-died hair & a facial piercing. She had a grimace on her face the entire time she was working on my nails. She even had the audacity to bark at me several times, saying, "You are not doing a very good job" and "You messed up a nail." At one point she snapped at me for touching a nail that should have been dry. She was very condescending and talked to me like I was a 10 year old. When it was all said and done, I walked out with nail polish all over the back of one of my fingers. The next day the polish chipped on a nail. Gel polish typically lasts up to 2 weeks. What an awful & uncomfortable experience. I will not be returning. read more

First let me start my saying I hardly ever bother to write reviews about places that aren't restaurants. But let's just say I felt compelled to share my experience. Despite some recent negative reviews, because it was last minute I walked in on a late Friday afternoon. The salon that wasn't packed, but had a good crowd already being serviced (no one waiting). About 30 seconds after I walked in and had been looked at by a few employees it struck me that the greeting I was waiting for would not be coming. So, I waited-- about another 2 minutes by the front desk until one of the techs looked up from where she was seated and asked if she could help me. When I said I was looking to have a spa pedicure she gestured toward the nail polish rack and told me to pick a color. I should have known from that brief interaction that I was just not going to get great service. But I'm new to the area and really needed a pedi (back home I went to an upscale boutique type salon every 2 weeks religiously) so I decided to stick it out. After picking a color the woman directed me to the pedicure chair and started a soak for me. A few minutes later the young woman (whose name I don't know because she never greeted me with it and wasn't wearing a name tag) who would do my pedicure came along, asked me what I wanted of their 3 choices-- regular pedicure, regular spa pedicure and deluxe spa pedicure. I asked what the difference was between them and was answered with a laminated sheet she pulled out of the cart to her right. Figuring I should read this instead of wait for an answer to my question I perused the options and quickly settled on the regular spa pedicure. The only positive thing I will say in this entire review is that the tech did a pretty decent job of trimming, cleaning and polishing my nails. But she frowned the entire time, barked orders at me for when to switch feet and never ever cracked a smile. Not once. Oh and the "spa" part of this pedicure-- whatever it was I must have missed it. After trimming/cleaning etc, I got a lackluster massage and then some polish. How is that at all different from a regular pedi?? Sorry but where I come from a spa pedicure entails scrubbing salts, foot masks, hot oils for your feet and legs and a 10 minute massage. For the price of $20 that I paid here to get a regular pedicure (masquerading as a spa pedicure) with the complete absence of any kind of customer service, I think I overpaid. I will not be coming back here. Ever. read more

I went in to Vinings Nails on a weekday afternoon, after seeing the positive reviews. There was about a 20 minute wait, which I found odd since they weren't very busy. I should have just left after 15 minutes, because what followed was the worst mani-pedi I've ever had. During the pedicure, the water was cold, even after I asked for hot water to be added. The girl cut my big toenails so short and filed them so badly that both are now becoming ingrown. The pedicure was the best part of the experience, however. I walked out during the manicure, after I was cut to the point of bleeding FIVE times (I know, I should have left after the first or second time). The girl seemed shocked that I was upset about this and actually argued with me when I said my fingers were too sore to allow her anywhere near them for another second. Rather than apologizing, she whined about how I would surely hate her for this horrible service. I wanted to tell her that, as I was the one bleeding, if anyone would be whining about anything, it should be me. I'm sure this isn't a common occurrence there, but regardless - I certainly won't be going back there again. read more

So this is my first review on Yelp ever... I guess that means something! I have been living in Vinings for the past 8 months and Vinings Nails are right across the street from me. I have gotten solar and acrylic nails from there by multiple people. The absolute best is Kimmy! She takes very good care of you and really listens to what you want. I pay attention to detail hardcore so I know when someone is not taking the time to do quality work. Kimmy is remarkable and does a fantastic job. Highly recommend her. Also, Malika does great eyebrows if you prefer waxing over threading :) read more

I went here with a friend and it was my first time to this salon. They made us wait quiet a while and it doesn't seem like they are very well staffed. I was getting a manicure/gel set and the girl doing my nails said that I wasn't sitting at her regular station and she didn't have all her things there. I asked if she needed me to move and she said that it was not necessary. She started my manicure and when she did my cuticles, she couldn't find the cuticle lotion so just used regular hand lotion. This was my first instinct that they really weren't a good salon. Any way, the manicure continued. I told her I wanted a design on my ring finger and she said, we're really not a design salon and the picture I showed her was a stencil/sticker. I didn't buy it, but went ahead and looked for a different design. Again, she said, we really don't do designs, but I'll try that one. She did do a design, and I was ok with it when I left, but when I woke up the next morning, I found that the polish was chipping on the ring finger design. Really?! not even one day it lasted! And these were gels! Not pleased with this salon. Won't return. Ended up going to another salon to fix it, so paid more than usual for a manicure. You can't tell customers that you're not good at what you do or that you don't know how to do designs! You perhaps shouldn't be in that business then! read more

I was new to the area. A neighbor recommended this place. I made an appointment with, I think it was, "Lily." (The experience was so bad that I've repressed her name.) I came a little early, waited a bit for any kind of greeting, and said I had an appointment with Whoever, and was told to sit in a chair. Someone started the foot soak and said she'd be there shortly. It turns out SHE WAS NOT IN THE BUILDING. After Whoever finally came in the front door, I found out that someone had goofed and not told her about this appointment. They had called her to come in. I had been soaking for at least 20 minutes, so I removed my "prune feet" from the considerably cooled-off tub water. I was then taken care of by two people, one of whom was "Helen." They were pleasant and friendly, although the mani/pedi was just OK. I will never be back. read more

THIS PLACE IS AWESOME!!!! Definately not your usual mani/ pedi shop. They actually take their time with you and actually talk to YOU! This is my regular place and I have been to many other nail salons but they just dont stack up to this one. This place is great for groups too. I recently moved to the Smyrna-Vinings area and have been trying new nail salons with my best friend who also recently moved here. This was our first experience at Vinings Nails and we were both VERY pleased by our whole experience. All the employees spoke English and the salon looked clean and well-kept. My friend got gel nail manicure and a pedicure and I only got the gel nail. My nails have never looked better and more even. They don't feel thick like other places that have done my gel manicures. I had a spa mani and pedi done a few days ago. The ladies who did my nails were very nice. My pedicure was awesome and my toes still look nice. My hands, not so much. Plus the manicurist kept clipping my cuticles so much, they started to bleed. She was actually supposed to start working on the woman sitting next to me, but the woman declined her services because she noticed the blood I kept having to dab on the towel they give you. read more

I tried Vinings Nails because it always looked busy so I figured why not. I waited for 30 minutes before being waited on. My manicurist kept stopping to text on her cell phone which made it that much longer. Then I had my eyebrows waxed which I would NOT recommend for anyone at Vinings Nails. She wiped the just waxed area with alcoholl which was painful! The worst part is the wax was too hot and I now have a burn line under my eyebrow that is extremely painful. Not worth the low prices.
