I am so disappointed in the new people here. I have been a customer here for 10 years and have NEVER had a problem. They double charged me for an order and now I have to go through so much to get the credit back on my account from the bank. They never have the items I have routinely bought for years in stock. I am definitely a fan of Vinnys Pet Shop. What is not to love? You run out of pet supplies and you give Vinny a ring and a short while later whatever you ordered arrives at your door. I am so happy not to have to schlep 40 pounds of food all the way to my home. Also, they carry lots of natural, grain free products. Always a good selection. They never seem to run out of anything. I've been going to Vinny's for almost three years now and can't believe we haven't gone sooner. They not only are extremely knowledgeable about the products they sell, they know their customers. They carry a lot of traditional dog/cat food you'd find in a local super market but also organic and naturally grown American made food and products. If I've ever had a question of what food or product might work for my cats or dogs, they always provide me with several options and suggestions based on my pets and my own needs. I've even gone in asking information on rescue cat adoptions or how to care for the strays we tend to. Hands down this the best pet store in town. Oh.. and did I mention they deliver! I just have to update my review because it's 2.5 years later, and this place just gets better and better. The gentleman in there and his son are so wonderful and helpful ... Over the last two years I've gone in there with a million questions and they have answered every single one of them and been so so nice about it. When I can't make it to the store, they deliver exactly what I need and they never forget anything or mess it up. I have to credit them with making me a better dog owner because if I had gone anywhere else for my Alfie's food, treats, collars and coats who knows what kind of bogus nonsense I would have been given. We found Vinny by accident on the way home from a crappy pet shop that claims to be what Vinny's is (my husband was yelling 'I have to drive to Xxxii Brooklyn Heights or Manhattan, are they kidding?). They had promised me they would have my boy's food (he is partially blind and has tartar at a very young age) but I went back 3 times and they still didn't have it. Hubby was mad, that's his baby boy and we need the food for his health. At Vinny's, they were really receptive. Not only do they carry the high end food, they know about animals and are really willing to help you buy, even for special needs little guys. If your pets are important, or if you tend to adopt special needs fur babies, you know the difference between a good shop and an awful shop. Vinny's was fantastic. They were ready to help and had a lot of knowledge about the products. I have had cats for a long time, and this was by far the best experience I have had. They will help you, deliver to you, order for you, and are not overpriced (I spent 5 dollars less on the food than I normally expect!) If you love your pets go to Vinny. They actually helped my husband pick toys for little blind baby boy! And they are having fun with them together. Con: they don't advertise and are on a side-street. Great people, pleasant experience, great doggie products/toys, excellent dog food selection, CLEAN... and did I mention CLEAN??? Didn't give 5 stars only because nonfood items are a bit pricey, but par for course with a small shop. Payin for the convenience, which is ok. I will not move out of my neighborhood unless Vinny's relocates. They are hands down the best pet shop ever. They don't sell any animals and offer very high quality food and toys. I have compared their prices to petsmart, petco and online stores and they are always within price range. And they do free delivery! Awesome!! The best part of Vinny's is Mike. Not to say the rest of the staff are bad in anyway. In fact they are all great. But Mike is the best. Wow what a freaking gem! My dog suffers from allergies and Mike is like a dog food encyclopedia.
