Definitely a great Italian spot in the area, it's near the airport, the shopping area and Lakewood malll. It has a simple yet cute decor inside. Noise level is average not too loud nor too soft. The food is is pretty quite GREAT!! The calamari seems to look white but they are delicious. The lasagna is very savoryy and a little bit salty but good otherwise. It was ok, we had the sea bass special, and the vegetables were cold. Manager came and said that it they wanted to keep it cool because of the weather. Seriosly? Why would you keep cold and hot items together? Worse thing to do is to make excuses when you just taken ownership and left it sitting out. We also had calamari and cioppino, very salty. Not even once the server or manager came to visit our table or asked us how it was. It seemed they forgotten about us after we got served our meal. Where do I start? My significant other and I took my mom out on her first dinner during the pandemic. Although she's had both her shots, I could tell that she felt uneasy with it but the staff at Vino e Cucina made responsible/considerate arrangements for safe pandemic dining. This made her feel safe. Upon arrival, I was greeted with a very warm welcome (similar to that of when I visit close family). The owner, Lorenzo, walked us through a "night's special" and made specific suggestions on the menu which he quickly catered to our liking. He is quite incredible and if Italy is anything like him, I can't wait to visit. Lastly, the food was amazing. Everything we ordered exceeded our expectations by miles and writing this makes me want to go back tonight. More than anything, I appreciate the kindness we were gifted by Lorenzo and the staff. We celebrated with a graduation dinner there on a weekday. Accommodated party of 12 with fairly quick service surprisingly. Appetizers were DELICIOUS: bruschetta, caesar salad, calamari. Bread was very good but expected better quality balsamic vinegar. Reason for 3 stars is because 6 of the dishes we ordered were way too SALTY. ( Pizza and pasta mainly). Some of us couldn't eat our dinner. Sodium overpowered any flavor that was there. We took our meals home to "fix" our leftovers. The service was ok. Ambiance was ok. Price was ok. The best authentic Italian food in Long Beach, hands down. I love everything about this restaurant. When you walk in, you feel like you just walked into a true Italian's home! Very cute & quaint. We've been here for years but this last visit is our last. We have two kids and we were seated in the corner which is fine. But right after we sat down the owner asked the table next to us if they wanted to move. Our kids weren't loud or disruptive. The table next to us didn't move. We had our dinner and the owner kept coming back to the table next to us asking if they were ok and engaging with them at least 3 or 4 times. He never once went up to us. It felt awkward and uncomfortable from the beginning as if we weren't wanted there because we had kids. The only good thing about this place were the sweet servers who took care of us. We've been back to Vino e Cucina multiple times over the past 10 years and each time seems to be every bit as good (or better) than what I remembered from our last visit. The service was perfect...attentive, but not intrusive. The food was fresh and delicious. Everyone for the hostess to the manager to what I'm guessing was the owner greeted us and made us feel welcomed. They also acknowledged our patronage with several verbal "Thank you's." We met the owner the first time we went there. He is friendly and answer our questions about some of the ingredients he used. The food is good and taste fresh. It taste like authentic italian food. I've never been to Italy but the ambiance seemed Italian to me. When all the tables are all occupied it is a little tight but that's Italian. I think prices are reasonable and the service is good. I've lived close by this restaurant for a few years now and haven't tried it until today. The margherita pizza was ok -- nothing special but not horrible either. The Bolognese was delicious, pasta prepared al dente. The meat sauce was flavorful and not overly salty. The lobster ravioli was excellent. Definitely recommend it- the flavor was better than I've had at other Italian restaurants. The pappardelle with short ribs was great. The short ribs fell apart and were prepared very well and the sauce was delicious, pasta also al dente. I did order this as takeout and I am going to return and eat at the restaurant next time because I think I would give this place 5 stars if I actually sat here and had the food come out as fresh as possible. The ambiance inside is exactly what you'd expect at an authentic Italian restaurant. It is very intimate, with fairly large parties seated at some of the tables, along with some smaller tables in the back and around the restaurant for two seaters. There was definitely a lot of wine flowing at the tables as you'd expect when dining Italian, so I would assume they have a decent selection even though I didn't try the wine. As someone with a history as a picky eater, I frequently find the courage to try new items and I'm always overwhelmed by the flavors and textures they present. The authentic quality of this restaurant and their service is wonderful, as well. A small anecdote, as this is written during the covid lockdown: I ordered a to-go meal for my family and I was picking it up and chatting with one of the owners. He asked about my family and I shared that we have newborn twins at home. On my way out the door he gave me a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine to celebrate! They were a bit slow in getting the order out, but this may have been due to it being pretty packed on Friday night. Aside from that, the food as a whole is great. We have gone to Vino e Cucina prior to the pandemic. For my wife's birthday, she wanted to get catering from the restaurant to feed 13 people. We ordered the stuffed artichoke, chicken piccata and lasagna. Everything was fresh and delicious. The surprise hit was the stuffed artichokes! When we opened the lasagna, it had a lot of liquid on the top of the pasta but once we cut into it, we all agreed it was amazing.
