We decided to celebrate my son's birthday at The 908 and really glad we did. The restaurant has a modern look and felt welcoming. We had a reservation for six and the hostess greeted us and sat us right away. Our server, Nate, was fantastic. He knew the menu and answered all of our questions. He even explained how some of the drinks were made. Later we found out he was actually one of the bartenders helping out as a server for the night. Which made sense considering how well he knew how the drinks were made. He was attentive and checked on us often to make sure everything was going well. One thing that made him stand out was, he actually conversed with us rather than just asking if we needed anything and then leaving. The Old Fashioned was one of the smoothest and best I've probably ever had. My nephew ordered the Ube Painkiller after Nate described how it was made. I had a sip, and the ube flavor really came through without overpowering the drink and it was perfectly matched with the dark rum, which Nate said came from the Caribbean. The Brussels sprouts had a nice mix of tender and crispy pieces that gave additional texture. The calamari was tender and the pesto style sauce paired real good with it. The Thai curry sea bass was flavorful, flaky, and had the right amount of spice. The cioppino had a rich shellfish flavor in the broth and I appreciated that the tomato base didn't have such an acidic taste. We also shared the tomahawk, which was juicy, cooked perfectly, and had a sprinkle of coarse salt that really brought out the flavor. Overall, we had a great experience. First time here which was great. I've walked by a few times while at the hangers. It was still pretty early when we stopped by which also happened to be happy hour. The hostess was quite sweet when we walked in. As we had our little fur baby with us, we were seated at one of the tables on the patio. It was still early and that in-between time so it was pretty quiet. A large party was set up next to us. Melinda took care of us and she was the sweetest. Happy hour was happening which we took advantage of. It was 4.00 off appetizer, 2.00 off draft wine and beer. Also, they made sure that our little pup was well taken care of as well. Food wise, an order of the poke wrap. Nice chunks of ahi with a scoop of rice, lettuce, avocado and wasabi sauce. It was good but a little messy. As it would be with all of the lettuce wraps. The steamed mussels which is a must. The broth was delicious and served with two nice thick slices of toasted bread. Decent size mussels cooked deliciously in the broth. A must try. Lastly the calamari which was tossed with jalapeños. Both deep fried and quite tasty. Nice crunch to it but not overly cooked. That was also served with two dipping sauce. Everything was delicious. Towards the end of the meal, Melinda noticed that a bug was in my wine which she was very sweet about and made sure to take care of it. The simple little gesture was greatly appreciative. The happy hour is pretty good for drinks and appetizers. The Paloma and Mai Tai were delicious and cannot go wrong with the Pork and Beef meatballs. The Maple Glazed Double Pork Chop was so delicious, make sure to get it butterfly if you want the cut to be thinner. I came in for an elevated yet casual place to eat tonight at The 908. I've been many times and I love they change their menu semi frequently to keep things fresh! I got the shrimp pho burger and that thing will blow your mind! How do they hit essentially every flavor note to the soup but in a burger?!? The short rib tonight was tender and succulent. Our waiter was attentive and heeded our request- in the past appetizers were delivered along with the entree and it was just too many food items to eat all at once- we asked for it to be brought a fair amount of time ahead of our lunch items and it was perfect. The poke salad bowl was so good. Delicious combination of flavors, and the pickled vegetables had a kick! There was a glaze on everything but a dipping sauce would have been nice. The steak salad was delicious, the beef cooked perfectly and my balsamic vinaigrette on the side as requested. We were seated outside on the patio which was nice but the neighboring table was extremely loud and made it difficult for us to have any level of conversation. It has been over two years since coming here. The 908 has certainly upped their game and has earned my five star rating. The food here is amazing, the service is quick and very accommodating, the ambiance is great. We had the cheese stuffed artichoke hearts as an appetizer, followed by their lobster roll. I opted for the garlic fries with extra garlic, my daughter had the same entree but with sweet potato fries. So many good choices!!!! Fun Fact: September 8th is 908 Day in Long Beach. The day pays tribute to the city's unique Zip code, which fosters community pride. Hence the name of this restaurant. I ventured out to this neighborhood friendly establishment to meet some darling Yelp ladies for Sunday Brunch. On this lovely day, I encountered a beautiful soul named Feskeli. I wanted to soak up all her energy and carry it in my heart. We were joined by my Yelp sister Te-See - another beautiful soul that lights up the room with her infectious energy. The 908 is spacious with fun, funky artwork on the walls and a fantastic bar that takes center stage. Our server Bubba was awesome! He had a great personality and went the extra mile to ensure my friend's dietary restrictions were addressed. We adored him! I love my martinis with Blue Cheese olives and love them even more when served with a shaker on the side and that's how you get them here. Plus, it's poured at your table. I love sitting at the bar and taking advantage of their happy hour, some good deals on drinks and apps. The service at the bar is solid too, they make sure to tend to you frequently. I made a reservation for 10 people and was thoroughly impressed with how they handled our party. We were able to get separate checks. In the morning they called to confirm whether or not we wanted to sit outside. They also asked if it was a special occasion. It was. It was a reunion three years in the making and the celebration of a birthday. Jessie was our server and he was amazing. He handled all the details and kept track of our progress without being intrusive and was helpful in taking pictures for us. You could tell he wanted to celebration to go well. He even brought out a slice of cake for our birthday girl. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The biggest compliment came from one of our parties husbands as he said he thoroughly enjoyed what he ordered. Apparently that doesn't happen often. The person sitting next to me mentioned how much she enjoyed her omelette. One of the best she's had. I the poke wrap appetizer, which was perfect for me. I enjoyed eveything I tasted and so did the others, I did think the calamari was not my favorite starter but that's because I have been spoiled with super juicy and tender calamari. The spicy tuna crispy rice dish was my favorite, I came in for the steak salad but then got more tuna with the poke bowl. It was all great and I got a side of spicy mayo and eel sauce. My husband and I have visited 908 four times before, and unfortunately our past experiences were disappointing. One visit we waited over 40 minutes without being acknowledged, another time our order came out wrong, and another time the food arrived cold like it had been sitting for quite a while. Because of that, I honestly did not want to come back tonight. But I was craving a good steak, and after my husband suggested giving 908 another try, I reluctantly agreed. I noticed the filet mignon on the menu paired with broccolini and decided to go for it. From the moment we walked in, the experience felt completely different. The hostess was warm and welcoming and seated us immediately. A young man came over right away with waters and took our drink order, which already surprised us in the best way. Then Alex S came to our table, and he truly made the night exceptional. He was friendly, attentive, and incredibly helpful in making sure my order was exactly how I wanted it. I mentioned that I didn't want a large piece of butter melting over the steak, and he happily accommodated that request. He even checked on the exact ounce size of the filet for me, which I appreciated. We ordered the Brussels sprouts appetizer, and honestly, they were the best Brussels sprouts we've ever had. Perfectly cooked, not drowning in sauce, and absolutely packed with flavor. My 8 oz filet mignon was cooked perfectly medium rare, exactly as ordered. The broccolini was crisp, fresh, and not overly oily. Everything tasted thoughtful, balanced, and worth every dollar. Most importantly, Alex S delivered spectacular service from start to finish. The 908 is great for groups as depending upon the size, you can sit in a large open table or an oversized booth. They also offer outdoor seating. The dish is served with short rib on top of broccolini on top of potatoes and all covered with a brown gravy. The spicy chicken sandwich is fried in between two brioche buns, the chicken was not overly breaded and is tossed in what tastes like buffalo sauce. We came back to The 908 today to follow up after our first visit, which was a work party at night where the food experience was unfortunately less than pleasant. I'm glad we gave it another shot because this visit was a completely different story. We sat at the bar and had an excellent experience with Sam, who was attentive, personable, and genuinely helpful with recommendations. She suggested the halibut, and it was very good -- nicely crusted with vegetables that were wonderfully seasoned and well balanced. Tiph ordered a cocktail called "So Much Drama," and it was excellent -- flavorful, smooth, and well crafted. The place was busy and clearly not lacking for traffic at this time of day. Good food and unique creative takes on good old comfort dishes. We had a work lunch during the week and the dishes were affordable. I had the prime rib sandwich and the quality of the meat was great. We started with delicious Bloody Marys, and as we were finishing them Daniel asked if we needed another round, I said I would as it was so good but it's such a filling drink we just couldn't, he suggested their delicious Micheladas, and of course we had to try them! Wow were there perfection. Then came the food and oh my! We had a grilled flat iron steak salad and the 908 Burger...well, we hit the jackpot this day as all was delicious, but the burger was so juicy and mouthwatering we still talk about it. Sometimes in life it's important to make time for people who come into your life unexpectedly and are simply magical. That is what happened to me when I visited 908. After having a rough week, I made my way to meet up with some friends and even though I was 20 minutes late, Brandon Aka Bubba welcomed me with a kind smile, warm welcome and zero judgement. We all decided to order off the brunch menus, and I ordered the 908 omelette and made sure the red bell peppers were gone. Brandon was compassionate when explaining my dietary allergies and made me at ease with his ability to tell the chef know so cross contamination did not occur. I loved everything about my dish. The breakfast potatoes were perfectly seasoned, my eggs were savory, and the avocado perfectly positioned on top! I was able to take what I didn't eat at home, and it tasted just as good when I consumed it later that following day. One of my friends ordered scrambled eggs, with potatoes and pancakes, another ordered a bowl of fruit. Everything looked good. The consensus was the pancake was a hit. What was also a favorite was a martini that was ordered and I piggie backed off Nikki who ordered it. The olives, yum yum. What I loved about 908: THE STAFF, The VIBE, THE ART, the big booths, and the attentiveness of everyone who came to our table to check in on us, to say hello, and to make sure I was safe. Thank you to everyone at 908 who made Sunday Funday an unforgettable one. I was able to focus on spending meaningful and quality time with the people I was with, instead of anxiety about whether or not I was going to have to use my epi pen. This establishment is officially on the "safe list" and this is golden for me. I ordered a Minosa flight and the Knife N' Fork Burger. The burger was a great size and filled with goodness. They added a balsamic glaze in my burger (which wasn't listed on the menu) but I enjoyed it as it almost became a Caprese burger. It was very tasty and the fries were very fresh and delicious. As for the Mimosa flight, it was $18 and not worth the money. It came with your choice of 2 juices and two small containers of sparkling wine. When poured into the glass given, you only get about 1/2 filled sparkling wine total. Other than that, the establishment was clean and service was attentive. I've always enjoyed the ambiance here. The space has a cool, modern industrial feel with high vaulted ceilings that make it feel open and energetic without being loud. The walls feature bold contemporary artwork that gives the dining room personality and keeps your eyes moving while you settle into the experience. We kept our thirst quenched with the Modern Times Hazy IPA at $8 during happy hour (normally $10), which is always a solid choice, juicy, smooth, and refreshing. My wife enjoyed the Strawberry Blonde at $7, another easy-drinking option that paired well with the appetizers. Speaking of starters, the spicy tuna stack is an easy 'A' grade -- layered sushi-grade tuna, avocado, crispy wontons, and a light soy-based drizzle that hits just the right balance of texture and flavor. The spinach & artichoke dip also earns an 'A' with its creamy blend of cheeses and perfectly toasted bread. The goat cheese stuffed artichoke flowers were good but needed more punch, a solid 'B' for me. For entrées, go with the Rosemary Brined Buttermilk Fried Chicken. Been here a handful of times. First the good: Parking is easily found in front or back or on the street. There's an outdoor patio area where our little pup was allowed. The bar area has a good amount of seats and 2-3 large screens to watch sports while enjoying drinks. All times I was there it was easy to get seated but there was also just the 2 of us. Now the food/drinks.. First time I came here was just for drinks at the bar. The Cold Brew Martini was amazing and is one of my go-tos when I'm craving an espresso martini or coffee drink. I also ordered the Post Melon, again well mixed, good punch of melon, easy to drink. I've had the bone marrow which was more bread than marrow, was barely enough for a serving and a half for 2 people... wouldn't get this again. The Tomahawk came with 2 sides which were good but didn't have that much flavor except for the outside rub. Overall an ok meal but it's not something I was amazed by. Celebrated my son-in-laws birthday at this location. Had 6:30pm reservations but did not get seated until 6:50. Greeted and seated outside. Ordered drinks and entrees. Received our food within 15 minutes. Chilean Sebass, prime rib dip sandwhich, sweet potato fries and chicken sandwich. All was very tasty. Prices were decent too. The ambiance made it worth while. Being outside where you are watching children play at the LBX courtyard. I would come again. Service was great. The negative.... drum roll.... parking is horrible. This might be the only reason why you wouldn't want to dine in at this restaurant. It took me 25 mins to park! Lol Not the restaurants fault. Excellent place to mingle and socialize. Kudos to our waitress.. unfortunately I did not get her name. read more

Such a low key, but DELICIOUS, brunch option! I was just in the area taking a spin class and was hungry after. The 908's presence is subtle, just outside of the Long Beach Hangar, but so casually sophisticated. The indoor seating is quiet with a bar, and the outdoor seating overlooks the crowded LBX. I ordered the kids menu cinnamon swirl pancakes (the perfect fluff mixed with glazed cinnamon that adds a great chewy, crunchy texture), scrambled eggs and bacon. I also got the Peruvian French press coffee which was rich in flavor and not too strong. I was stuffed by the end and a great post-workout meal! read more

First time at the The 908! We came for lunch on a Friday afternoon, a birthday lunch! The decor inside is very inviting, comfortable booths and nice Edison hanging lighting! There is a nice outdoor patio as well, but we chose to eat inside. Food and service was excellent. Nice selection of items including appetizers, burgers/sandwiches, and full entrees all available for lunch. I ordered the burger with a side Arugula Salad, delicious, and I was full! My friend ordered the Pork Chop which came with Brussel Sprouts. Pork Chop was tender and delicious (she shared bites with me). Brussel Sprouts are flash fried and very good. I was so surprised, they brought me out a nice dessert for my birthday! Very nice treat! Chocolate cake with ice cream and of course a candle. They also offer a Happy Hour M-F 3-6pm and Brunch on the Weekends. Overall, excellent experience and definitely plan to return soon! read more

Amazing food, drinks, service and aesthetic! The only annoying thing is finding parking in or around LBX. But once the hassle of parking hunting is over, the dining experience at The 908 is great! Glad a friend suggested it for brunch! read more

Friendly service - first time here. Sat outside on the patio since it was such a nice night. There are portable heaters too, if needed. Bar available inside along with booth seating. They have Happy Hour during the week with $4 off appetizers. Nice variety. We had the Mahi Mahi tacos (9/10) which were flavorful and came with a side of classic fries. You can substitute for an additional charge. We also shared the spinach artichoke dip (9/10) that came with some thick, crunchy chips that were lightly salted. Overall, a nice vibe. read more

This is my 3rd time here. Came here yesterday during lunch with my husband. Place wasn't packed so we got seated right away & sat indoor. Ambiance had an open space with plenty of seatings indoor & out door patio. There's also bar top area with TVs. Our server was friendly & great! She was kind to let me sample couple of wines to try before I decided which one to order. I went for the bubbly & hubby had a Bloody Mary. Bloody Mary was legit. As for our meal, Hubby ordered a prime rib dip & I had the Seared Ahi salad. The prime rib was juicy & tender but the bread could've been more soft in my opinion. The Ahi alone on the salad tasted a bit bland but mixed with the salad tasted better. The salad itself was refreshing & nice with all the different ingredients tossed in together. The pricing here is a bit steep but I give it 4 stars for the quality ingredients & good service. read more

The 908 is always a good time at LBX! Love their happy hour and their bartenders/staff are always so attentive and nice. Their cocktails are always well-balanced and presented well even though I can never remember the name of the drinks. Their calamari is crispy without it being too breaded and heavy, the mussels have a nice finish to them, and the spicy tuna stack is very flavorful and meaty. French onion soup was good but I thought there was some room for improvement of making cheese a bit more abundant and baked. Ambiance inside is modern and lively. On a nice day, their patio is a great option as well. read more
